"Brhati bhrngayati tat param Brahm" Brahm is the One Who is the greatest and who ALSO makes others great. -the definition of Brahm in vedas. "Bhrhatvat Bhringhadatvat ca tat brahmetya vidhiyate"- Vishnu Puran. This is corroborated in the Vishnu Puran,where Sri Vishnu is identified as Brahm. How great is He ? "Svayam tva samyat tishayatryadhesha " -Bhagavat puran 3.2.21 Neither is there anyone as Great as Him nor is there anyone greater than Him. This is also accepted by arjuna in the Gita.

Gita also says: 15.16, 15.17 , 15.18, 15.19, 15.20 there are 3 tattvas: There is Kshara,Akshara and then there is One who controls over these two : Purushottamamah(Sri krsna). "Vishnu saktih parah prokta ksetragyakhya tatha parah Avidya karma sangyanya tritiya shaktir uchyate" Vishnu puran-6.7.61 Sri Visnu has three energies.Para(personal),ksetra(Jeevaatma) and avidya(Maya/apara).And so it is also said. "Dravyam karmaca kalasya svabhavo jeeva eva ca vasudevat paro brahmana canyorthostitattvatah " Bhagvat 2.5.14 Everything is Vasudeva.He alone exists.Jeeva? Bah! Jeeva is a mere energy of Godhead.He has no independent existence. Same goes for maya.

He becomes formless and Himself Manifests in a eternal Form whenever He so wishes. How does He do it? This is how- "parasya shaktir vividhaivashuyate svabhaviki gyana balakriya ca" svetasvatara upanishad 6.8 Brahm has Infinite Saktis which are natural(note: Svabhiviki).By these multifarious,infinite energies does He manifest these two forms(Bhaktas and actual transcendentalists accept the main energy of Godhead as Svarupa Sakti.) Narakritim Param Brahm. Brahm has two forms simulataneously. Vedvyasa has indicated there are 3 features,but they are classified on the energies that are manifested/active (although all anergies being present in each of these features). There is no need to base your(generalisation) entire existence on 'Aham Brahmasmi' and 'ta tvam asi'. There is only One: Brahm. There are only two : Bhrahm and Jeeva. There are only three: Bhrahm,Jeeva,Maya. All three statements are correct,for all have been accepted by the Vedas. BUT. Jeevatma and Maya Being Brahm's energies, It is said that there is only one: Brahm. Jeeva is Brahm's ETERNAL energy and being Chit/chetan/conscious is to be understood to of Brahm's class(SaJAATYA sambandha). Plz note that I am really very incompetent to debate on Acintya Bheda Abheda. The gosvamis,etc are very adept at this,having followed in the footsteps of Gopis,they intimately know these complex fact of simultaneous oneness and difference with Shyamasundara. When one knows these, he surpasses death and the ephemeral cosmic manifestation with it, and in the eternal kingdom of God he enjoys his eternal life of bliss and knowledge.

In Mahä-varäha Puräna also: "Matsya, Kürma, Varäha, and other incarnations are equal to Lord Visnu, for they are not different from Lord Visnu Himself. Brahmä and the other material demigods are described as not equal to Lord Visnu, although as His potency they are also equal to Him." The word "prakriti" (potency) here means “spiritual potency". Because they are simultaneously different and not different from the Lord, here it is said that they are both equal to Him and not equal to Him. This same thing was described by Sri Kripaluji Maharaj and I remember how offensive i was towards him. He had said that Siva,Bramha Bhagavan se abhinn(non-different) hai. Later on,through close studies of the Gosvamis' revelation,it is apparent that sometimes Lord Hari Himself becomes Brahma or he is an avesa Incarnation. Lord Siva is Non different from the Supreme Lord but Since he is always associated with the task of destruction,and destructon being dark/tamasic in nature,he is said to be bewildered by it. Although Lord Sadasiva Is an expansion of Godhead(Sri Sankarsana to be precise) and resides in Sadasivaloka beyond maya. Lord Siva of the material manifestation is nothing but the form of this original Sadasiva and is further manifested as the Fire of time from Sri Sankarsana. The lord does state in the Gita,"I Am the fire of time." So knowing these subtle truths is imperative for any sadhaka. That's why we should not be foolish and write off great Mahatmas like Sri Tulsidas who apparently wrote that Sri Shankara is non different from Sri Hari. They could be meaning to say the exact same thing as confirmed in the Padma Purana.

"In order to bewilder the moving and non-moving inhabitants of the material universe, the Puräënas and other Vedic scriptures may sometimes say that this or that demigod is the Supreme Lord. The actual final conclusion of all Vedic literatures, however, is that only Lord Visnu, and no one else, is the Supreme Personality of Godhead." -Padma Purana(A sattvic Purana).

While We are Discussing Sri Shankaracharya..... His lineage is: Shankaracharya Gaudapadacharya Govindacharya Shudeva Paramhamsa Sri Vyasadeva Srila Narada Sri Bhrahmadeva Sri Krsna. Krsnam Vande Jagadgurum.

The most amusing thing is...Sri Shankaracharya travelled across the Four holy sites(We call char dham) and HE HIMSELF established MURTIS(Arca Vigrahas) Of Lord Hari In ALL of these four Dhams. 'All forms are Mayic ?' Sri Sankara may appear a bit whimsical,but for the Vaishnavas,he is very respectable,for he didn't quite forget to show what exactly is the Supreme Truth. Shudha-yati naa antar atmaa,Krsna Padambhoj Bhaktimriteh.

The different purusa-avatäras are described in Sätvata Tantra: "Viñëu has three forms called puruñas. The first, Mahä-Viñëu, is the creator of the total material energy (mahat), the second is Garbhodañäyé, who is situated within each universe, and the third is Kñérodaçäyé, who lives in the heart of every living being. He who knows these becomes liberated from the cluthes of mäyä." sadäçiväkhya tan-mürtis tamo-gandha-vivarjitä sarva-käraëa-bhütäsäv aìga-bhüta svayam-prabhoù väyavyädiñu saiveyaà çiva-loke pradarçitä-----laghubhag...by srila rupa Gosvami. Çiva's form named Sadäçiva, who is a direct EXPANSION of the Personality of Godhead, is the cause of all causes, is free from the slightest scent of the mode of ignorance, and resides in Çivaloka, is described in the Väyu Puräëa and other scriptures. It's common knowledge that Sri Visnu is known as the One who maintains Sattva Guna."Sattva - tanu" is the word used. "He who expands the activities of the mode of goodness (sattvam tanoti)" or "He who is the controller of the mode of goodness." It is accepted by all Mahatmas that ONLY when on the platform of Sattva guna,can the jivatma dream of transcending Maya. This is the reason why Puranas are separated into 3 sections.Sattvic.Rajasic and Tamasic. Lord Siva has Distinctly declared in the Saiva Puranas,"Saiva Puranas have faulty conception of the Absolute Truth.THEY DO NOT CORROBORATE WITH THE VEDIC REVELATIONS.The statements confirmed by the Sattvic Puranas which are also found in the Saiva Puranas ARE ONLY TO BE ACCEPTED." Lord Shiva's statement lies within the tamasic puranas only.It has to be accepted. It is false that Saiva Puranas have been interpolated.But It is true that Saiva Puranas are for pple in the Tamasic category. These(Tamasic) Puranas have ablsolutely no clear aim or content that is reconciled by the sruti sastra in any way.They are Faulty It is to be thus understood that Sattvic puranas are the highest authority for the common man. DURGA is NOT a demigoddess.But that doesn't mean you accept whatever her purana declares. Why don't we understand one simple logic.All these Puranas were scripted by Srila Vyasadeva.Vyasadeva Himself wrote the Bhagvata AFTER even the Vedanta Sutra.He declared it as the Gem of all Vedic literature. When we say this,some pple immediately revert to the other puranas quoting various other conclusions. Instead,plz analyse yourself... Sankaracarya commented on Vishnu Purana,Bhagvad Gita,etc.He DID NOT comment on Shiva geeta. He accepts that the Lord is BEYOND material modes in Sahasranama Bhasya,Gita Bhasya,Prabodha Sudhakara,Govindashtakam. I mean this should be enough for any person to accept the fact. PPle view Sri Visnu as just another deity.It is not so.We should accpet Sri Shankara's views as well as the other Jagadgurus' views.This is no point of debate.It only takes a bit of a humble approach. And tell me one thing,Why are you quoting this verse? If SHE IS THE CAUSE of bondage,your mayavad loses all it's meaning.You are Bhramn and yet maya caused your Conditioned state. Your mayavad goes for a complete toss.What will you answer now? She gives liberation- Already accepted.Durga loka is a spirtual planet.But there is one condition.If bhagavan favors only then such liberation is possible. in upport: Ravana,Durvasa,Bhaumasura,Banasura. Durvasa(Shiva bhakta) had to run for his life becoz he offended yudhistira. Ravana(Shiva bhakta) got smashed like a mere fly.All the demigods were under his rule. Bhaumasura(Shiva bhakta): Obtains a boon from mahadeva that he can kill anyone by just placing his hand over that person's head.Then he himself runs after shiva to kill him.Shiva takes shelter of Sri Vishnu.This is corroborated in THE SHIVA PURANA. Banasura(Shiva bhakta): has a 1000 arms.Calls lord shiva to join him in battle against Bhagvan Himself.The supreme Lord releases His Narayana-astra which brings rudra jvara under control.Rudra jvara brings about the destruction of the world. Lord Shiva is stunned(All these personaltities perform very good acting).Then the lord cuts off 998 arms of banasura in FRONT OF SHIVA. It is on Shiva's plea that the lord even spares 2 arms. Uma - mahesvara are under Sri Bhagavan although they can freely distribute their mercy. Maya sakti is jada means she is material in nature. If it were no so,the buildings would have talked to you. Maya'DEVI' is Not jada.It is like....COMMON sense. Devi is present apart from Sri vishnu? After pralaya,Maya sakti gets destroyed a what? Obviously no.She enters into Sri Vishnu.So says the Garbha stuti. Please speculate elsewhere(No offense). I never said Durga is demigod.And again,no speculation. Manifestation of the 8 sattvik bhavas and their genuine symptoms have been recorded in the books of Rasik saints. Paroksha vado vedo yam. You cannot understand the vedas.One thing is indicated,another thing is meant. Srimad Bhagvat Gita Comes within the Mahabharata,which is easier to understand.There is no Paroksha vad in this Text. Thus the natural request to accept the direct order of Sri krsna.

Saying that prabodha is a poem and not a 'prakara grantha' doesn't change anything now does it. You mean to say Shankaracharya used to lie in his poems?

I'm sory...prema Bhakti just doesn't 'roll' that way. Gyan mishra bhakti is that when at the final stages of atma gyan...the gyani goes in pursuit of the lord's krpa sakti...(Only if he is intelligent...90% of them consider atma-gyan to be IT.) That time he HAS TO DO BHAKTI for gaining liberation(Sayujya mukti). Who will bestow Krpa otherwise? Shankara? Durga? They HAVE swarupa shakti but they dance according to Sri Bhagvan's wishes and are not independent.(I know you might find it objectionable...but If Uma-Shankara were here,they'd certainly dance in joy-no sarcasm intended.) Of course Bhramn has two interpretations. Our Bhramn has an eternal Form,Name,Quality,Pastimes,Abode and is simulataneously Formless and Paramatma. Your Bhramn is.....well,you. How can you love Formless THING? No pastime.No name to Glorify.No Quality to remember. You love your mum.It's un doubtedly selfish love,but still you love her becoz of her qualities.When you remember your mum,you remember her qualities,form and pastimes and then you feel whatever 'love' it is. Mukti KILLS the potential for experiencing/giving unlimited love through transcedental dealings with the lord. As my intelligence suggest,you cannot play with mere effulgence(Bhramnjyoti)...neither can you sit on it's back and play as though your superior to it. Bhramn has all the energies.Agreed.but they are dormant.Whereas Sri Krsna's hladini sakti(Sri Radhika)/the most important of all saktis sees to it that the bhakta as well as Sri Bhagavan forget their position (This takes place on Shuddha sattvik level.Thus the factor of avidya raring it's head is obviously not possible) and love each other,experiencing ever increasing infinite happiness.THIS IS LEELA. Radharani was introduced by gaudiya Vaishnavism? May i remind you that Creation of the entire cosmic manifestation is repetitive and cyclic? This highest truth(Sri Radhe of course) was introduced on this planet at one point of time is completely irrelevant to the position of the truth.It doesn't affect the position of the truth in the slightest. If i were to not know who radha rani is...that means She becomes non existent? Hardly. You are right...The Supreme Power and the Supreme Powerful are non different.But this applies to the Hladini potency(Srimati Radhika) AND Sri Bhagavan(Shyamsundara).Hladini potency is the maintainer of ALL the potencies of Godhead.Krsna and Radhika being one and the same... Maya sakti doesn't come in the picture only. The vedas describe that Maya doesn't go in front of Godhead.This is true. Godhead is light and Maya is nescience/darkness.There is no question that she should come anywhere near Him. And yet,she resides within Him,being His energy.See the Acintya(incomprehensible) tattva that My Shyamasundara is? I'm really sorry but i cannot reply to that unless i come across the verse and it's transliteration either by a realised prema bhakta of the rasik class. Who else will undersatnd Jiva gosvami's words?? Frankly,we are not allowed to read Mayavada at all.Whatever tears we shed in remembrance of the Lord...the sentiment...the respect...all vanishes once you read Mayavad.Only Prema Bhaktas can read Mayavad to smash it. Veda Vyasa has used the word 'Kaikav' when he describes mukti and bhukti.'Kaikav' means an evil thing...He condemned mukti more than bhukti for mukti is spiritual suicide. There is hardly a drop of nectar in Bhramananda compared to Krsnanand/Ramanand,etc. Why should i believe you ? I see a mahatma in bhava...I see his indescribable bliss.Then there is the bhram jnyani..He has to toil so much...for what? For putting a stop to the material miseries/dukha/taapa,etc. The jeevatma does not want misery(correct) BUT he also wants ananda! There is just cessation of all miseries in actual Bhramananda. There is no experience of divine ecsatasy that so many rasiks have manifested through the ashta sattvik bhavas. And it's a thing of common sense really.Sri veda Vyasa is the spiritual master of Markandeya.I'd rather read Bhagvata Purana(Author: Sri Vyasadeva at the height of his spritual life under the guidance of dev rsi,Sri Narada.) than read Markandeya purana(author: Markandeya Rsi.) I've already explained that Uma Mahesvara are the forms of Godhead only.There is nothing new to see here.Mahesvara has all the three energies(Jeeva,Maya and Swarupa) saktis.Thus what happens between Mahesvara(Svaansh) and Sri Krsna(Bhagavan) is a matter that is confidential to Them alone.Same goes for dealings between Sri Krsna(Bhagavan) and Durga(Maya sakti). Similarly,Parabhupada has explained that there is not a distinct difference between the possessor of the Energy and the Energy as such,BUT the possessor alwys remains the controller of energy. And the verse of the really illustrious Jiva Gosvami means thus: "Although Maya/durgadevi is really the external energy of sri krsna,she still resides within Him for she is His energy afterall." Besides,if you can accept Sri Jiva Gosvami's work,why can't you accept Bhramadeva's work,Bhrama samhita,in which Sri Bhramaji delineates the knowledge regarding this complex topic in proper way.There he strictly maintains that Durga devi is a maid servant of Sri Krsna. there is no place for such useless interpretations as presented by you. Simulataneous oneness and difference explains this perfectly.I am no authority on this. How do i know? "Kaivalyam sattvikam gyanam." "Sattva sanjayate Gyanam." lastly few question to vaishnavs::::: Milk nourishes the calf and also the human body. Unfertilsed eggs that the hens 'lay' come out during the PMS they undergo. How does anyone justify a side-emission during PMS as edible?? Cows give so many litres of milk.If you allow the calf to drink it entirely,it will die of indigestion.Go ask any farmer. Actually,the tilak's don't matter much apart from the sentiment you keep in mind when your putting it....Like when you see the tilak in the mirror,you remember that you want the lord's two feet on your head. Whereas one of the greatest devotees,Sri shankara,puts ashes on his body. Still he got entry into the Rasa leela. there are so many dacoits who must've put tilaks to avoid getting caught.The lord doesn't ADMIT him into rasa leela!

After Bhagvat praapti,The Lord bestows all His strength,opulence,beauty,etc. on the Jeevatma except the powers to create,maintain and destruct the material cosmic manifestation. That's why when Sri Narayana desired to Fight,Jaya Vijaya immediately went to the material manifestation as Hiranyakasipu and Hiranyaaksa to fulfill the Lord's transcendental desire immediately.Narada confirms this in an intimate conversation. If you remember,The Lord battled Hiranyaaksa the longest ever.He acted as though He was even tired. Only the devotee can match the Lord's strength in leela.Who else has the fortune or strength? So all this speculation of yours goes for a toss when you consider these facts coz Arjuna does not need the lord to counter the apparently 'invincible' karna. Your post also reflects your personal envy towards the Lord and His devotees. Talk about one ness and neutrality towards everyone.

The living entity may be 'imprsoned' in the world of dualism....but you need something to 'free' you.A king releases the imprisoned person only when he is pleased with him. It is his mercy. He alone has the power to release him. this is the material prison of maya. Durga-the meaning of this name is PRISON. Durga is the strict guardian of this prison...She serves her controller and master,Sri Bhagavan. This is not some ordinary prison...No one can escape maya. Now,if you say that your Bhramn,why can't you dismiss maya? It's not possible. Okay. Then atleast the supreme consciousness can...the entity you'll are calling bhramn but have not yet realised,has all the energies that the vedas attribute it...But they are dormant(Sushupt).THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO TRANSFORMATION OR EXERCISE OF ANY OF THESE ENERGIES. Bhramn simply maintains its supremacy. NOW...who will take away your maya? Bhagvatas: Who will take away your maya,huh rascals? Mayavadis: We'll think about it..We'll meditate..Maya will go.We'll drive her on our own strength. Bhagvatas: If it were possible,it would've happened by now. Mayavadis: Ha,we'll do this...we'll do that...Aisa hai..waisa hai. Bhagvatas : Shut Up! Sri krsna declares in Geeta, "Arjuna,this is My Maya..My Divine energy.She doesn't leave anyone unless I order her to." "Mam EKAM sharnam Vraja." Every where when the lord talks of surrendering,He puts EVA everywhere... The lord is very clever.He knew what is going to plague India's general mindset. Eva means ONLY.ONLY and ONLY Sri krsna takes away Maya. So the lord challenges in Gita,"This is MY divine energy...Who has the power to over come her?" Gauranga Mahaprabhu also declared to the fortunate teenage girls,"Uma-Mahesvara are My servants....Whatever you are doing to worship them,do it for Me." Shankaracharya ACCEPTED this...He DID Sri Krsna bhakti..HAD His Vision.. He would've never really written the wonderful works that reek of Prema Bhakti otherwise.. As for Jnyana and Karma.. Jnyana is toh TOTALLY USELESS: "Sattva sanjayate Jnyanam." "Kaivalyam sattvikam Jnyanam." All this kaivalya and samadhis you all boast about..these fall under the sattvik guna of Maya...This is ATMIC sukha/ananda/happiness. It is a mere shadow of the real Bhramananda. This experience of Kaivalya is merely a sattvik experience... Prithvi, Tej jal Vayu Akash ahankar. these six elements are crossed by the Jnyani with billions of years of sadhana. Then remains Mahan Prakriti/Maya. The jnyani can break his head for eternity,he can NEVER CROSS THESE TWO. The jnyani successfully eliminates Raja,Tama guni maya.This is called Avidya/Nescience. But SATTVA REMAINS.This is called vidya Maya.How will you eliminate Vidya MAya?? YOU CAN"T.You JUST CAN'T. So Maya REMAINS...Soon,the jnyani falls(patan) even from this position "Param padam tatah patanti..." Karma: Karma is totally dependent on bhakti Mahadevi. Karma phala is decided by paramatma seated in the heart. You may provide your millions of so called vedic proofs,but i just cannot accept that the 'Supreme intelligence' to perform the tasks,to "NOTE,ANALYSE and DECIDE" ,is just some random work of Nirguna,nirvishesh and niraakar Bhramn. Intelligence always implies a personality. Narayano prokta Mata ,pita,Bhrata, surhd Gatih He's your mother,father,brother,everything...He is the supreme destination. The veda mantras accept the Paramatma as Sriman Narayana.Period. Karma is useless unless it takes shelter of Bhakti. then it become karma mishrit bhakti(Remember how the lord Advises Arjuna to perform karma thinking of Him alone.That's this.) famous examples: Bhramadeva Jnyana is dependent on bhakti at the first and the last satges. How? First stage: Sri Shankaracharya: "Shudhayati naa antar aatma, Krsna padam bhoj bhaktimriteh." - Prabodha Shudhakara. Without Sadhana Bhakti of Sri krsna's lotus feet,the mind DOES NOT GET CLEANSED. Cleansing of the mind is the first stage in jnyana marga. Last stage: As described above. Meditation on self,Bhramn,Void,etcetera etcetera DOES NOT MAKE THE SHACKLES OF MAYA FALL APART, contrary to massive popular belief. The meditation is done by a material mind.The meditation is itself Material. This is only cheating...Meditate and experience bhramn...Wow.But no,thanks. 'Silence' and 'Stillness' of the mind exist ONLY in the case of two events: Deep sleep without no dreams AND The cosmic annihialtion,after which the Jeevatmas enter the Mahapurusha's body to experience slumber. Still,there arises no question of transcending maya in any of these two cases.It's just babble.
