  1. ...the letter was 17 or 18 pages long and covered history, philosophy and religion... http://ca.news./cbc/s/08052006/3/world-u-s-scorns-letter-iranian-president.html I rather think it was false history - bent philosophy and - apostate religion. In those 17-18 pages did he disparage the Israelis and the Jews again - did he try to convince Mr. Bush to join him in these well known maledicted perspectives? Of course we knew that the U.S. isn't that naïve - thank God!
  2. Just more examples of his unpredictable and unstable nature - what kind of fool would take his 11th hour change of heart seriously? Rather he is trying to gain a little confidence thinking to bring down the guard a little then - he'll do some nasty thing. As noted by so many others - Iran must make CLEAR efforts to convince the world [may take more than a few years to do] that they don't want to wipe out Israel and later attack the west for its support of Israel. Myself - I wouldn't EVER believe a word the President of Iran says in this connection [nor any other replacements from the present group of leaders] - he is well past the point of proving that he is hate and ignorance personified - it's ALL that clear to me! So whatever way it goes - be not fooled by 11th hour changes of heart... BDM
  3. I cannot believe you're making excuses for the obvious demons in Iran! You may be one of those that thinks that things aren't all that bad over there - after all - they really only hate Israel - right? Why should you care? The mess in Iraq is cause by those that are fighting against this action - as noted before - when the insurgency ends - the war ends. Do we have coalition troops beheading people etc? NO we don't. So at least in Iraq we have a stepping stone - to the other places that need cleaning out... You said "FIRST" - what is "SECOND"?
  4. I wrote: Regime changes do not lead to democracies - they [at best]lead to puppet-regimes and later - civil war. While that IS generally true - it isn't a rule - as by and large - there are going to be times that free nations have to fight against those that might have designs on ending western civilization - as well as the situations where tyrants are so out of control - that to ignore them permanently is unwise. No one wishes to rush to war - but - what if there are those out there who do not think of their fighting - as war - as much as they think of it - as bringing a mandate forward - where the causes and background are radical - political and/or religious - that makes little difference to the need to not be callous to the reactions of the age of quarrel. Just as we know the rains are going to come - so we make preperations. Srila Prabupada says: This age of Kali will certainly be full of all activities of Kali, but this does not mean that the leaders of society, the executive heads, the learned and intelligent men, or above all the devotees of the Lord should sit down tightly and become callous to the reactions of the age of Kali. In the rainy season certainly there will be profuse rainfalls, but that does not mean that men should not take means to protect themselves from the rains. It is the duty of the executive heads of state and others to take all necessary actions against the activities of Kali or the persons influenced by the age of Kali; and Maharaja Parikit is thek ideal executive head of the state, for at once he was ready to kill the personality of Kali with his sharp sword. [sB 1.17.28, purport] Of course Prabhupada also mentions this in the same purport: The administrators should not simply pass resolutions for anticorruptional steps, but they must be ready with sharp swords to kill the persons creating corruptions from the angle of vision of the recognized çästras. The administrators cannot prevent corrupt activities by allowing wine shops. They must at once close all shops of intoxicating drugs and wine and force punishment even by death for those who indulge in habits of intoxication of all description. So one could say that is a rather 'extreme position' - while that seems to be his mood in this purport - we can see that in other places he is much more broadminded [less harsh as it were]: You are thirsty; you want water. But there is a good taste in the water. Otherwise, how you quench your thirst? There is taste. Everyone knows. So Krsna says, raso ’ham apsu kaunteya: “Any liquid thing, the taste, which attracts you, that is I am.” Even you are a drunkard, you are fond of tasting wine, I should recommend that you simply think that “This taste of wine is Krsna.” That will make a yogi of you. That will make you the greatest yogi. If you simply think this, that “I am tasting wine. Oh, very nice taste. This is Krsna.” Is there any loss if you think like that? This is Krsna consciousness. [bG 7.1, Lecture, September 08, 1973] Even those who are drinking... If he thinks that “This taste of drinking is Krsna,” he will one day come out a great saintly person. Such a nice thing, Krsna consciousness, if you have cultivate Krsna consciousness, if you follow the description given by the shastras. So I can request that even the drunkards that “You can become Krsna conscious.” [sB 1.8.22, Lecture, April 14, 1973] Thus he is giving an example to our leaders - about time and circumstances and that in the most puka or pure state - rules and regulations would never see the state run sale of any intoxicants - however intoxicants would still be around as these were there even in vedic culture - but they were not a part of the economic development of the State. Now they are. At least the alcohol - it's gone from being taxed to the state owning the distillery. That [in part] is what needs changing. Of course my opinion on these matters is well known. So we have to see that our western leaders understand things from a broad perspective and that they rule at home - without duplicity or unfairness. When our world ends up dealing with extremists - no matter the faith background of the leaders here [and there] - they cannot ascribe to an extremist path themselves - this is why we pray for Mr. Bush and those that lead America [and another 'nearby' neighbor too;)] - that they HEAR THE MESSAGE...
  5. You're very welcome prabhuji - you have marvelous murtis of their Lordships! I had fun doing the slide show - I'm glad you like it. Yer servant, BDM
  6. Bush isn't a demon and I don't think he get's a kick out of using military force as you've alluded to. Aren't women and children being murdered on the Israeli side too? Why you're not mentioning that seems odd? To say that the U.S. supports killing as you have mentioned is unfair and untrue. You have a gripe - with Israel? If so - why? YS, BDM
  7. Very Nice - but a little hard to see - so I thought to do this for you:
  8. Well just forget Iran and let them go on unchecked - doing whatever it is they're doing and - you'll see! Imagine a nation run by terrorists - imagine the opportunity for inflicting mayhem on other nations! It doesn't take me long to understand! Prabhupada says one must be - like a lion in the chase and - like a lamb at home - so we do of course need to see the western leaders make some REAL adjustments so that the issues of playing enforcer are not blighted by domestic issues of - injustices and inequality etc., one recent example is the desire in Mexico to do something about the war on drugs - while the desire to legalize all the drugs in small amounts is good in theory - it should not be done that way - only marijuana - the others may be dealt with differently when people are found with small amounts - but they cannot be legal. The legalization of marijuana then gives a chance to people to have a choice - a legal choice - one besides booze [and other dangerous illegal drugs] - so that is good. Now the U.S. and Canada needs do the same thing - then the cash that is saved by not going after the marijuana can be used to fight other things such as the terrible and evil meth problem that is spreading. They do this and - it'll have another effect - the Republicans and the federal Conservatives in Canada would certianly become very popular - especially with yonger people who see the governance as being fully out of focus with them! So in respect to Iran - of course there may be a way to deal with them - without any military force - but - that force may be needed and the 'free' world has to make a choice about these things soon - because if the western nations [with too many falling too far into a brand of do nothing 'liberalism' as a political reaction to the 'center' of these issues] ignore things as they are in our world and let the thugs spread out further [they are already nearly everywhere] then what can be done when the %&*# hits the fan as it were and 'they' attack? Where and how should we come to the conclusion that Iran is just going to keep barking and never bite - wait for 'that' bite? They say when a dog barks it is [in fear] trying to induce fear in you - he doesn't really want to bite - if the dog growls and snarls - then he's going to bite! Hasn't the leadership in Iran gone from barking to snarling? I know some people are going to get upset if I mention Israel but let's look at this: Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad, Iran's fundamentalist president, on Wednesday declared that Israel should be "wiped off the map" and warned Arab countries against developing economic ties with Israel in response to its withdrawal from Gaza. https://registration.ft.com/registration/barrier?referer=&location=http%3A//news.ft.com/cms/s/14ee1ccc-465b-11da-8880-00000e2511c8.html Who thinks that Iran's president isn't snarling in this manner? YS, BDM
  9. This policy is a good one - it builds confidence in the Iraqi people - that the U.S. isn't trying to profit by selling Iraqi oil to Iraqis. It also takes into account the fact that there is less ability to pay for the common person in Iraq - so this is helping them too. I still say that the other oil rich Arab nations should reduce and CAP the profit margin on their oil as long as this conflict is outstanding - we cannot have this needed global war on terror destabilize economies... BDM
  10. Sounds nice but I hear some ego here? You're going to be the end of terrorism? Don't set yourself up like that - it's not realistic and you may end up feeling too self-important [i'm not saying you do]. YS, BDM
  11. So one day I hope to celebrate the Independence Day of a free state of Palestine - with God's mercy the people of Palestine shall turn away from their self-appointed freedom fighters - who are not heros to their cause. Today happens to be the Independence Day in Israel - so to practice my growing skills with .gif building I made this neat .gif animation for them - it isn't posted to offend anyone. Maybe within a couple of years I'll be making one for the new State of Palestine! I did this one rather quickly [several hours only] so it's not as good as it could be as well as the fact that imageshack has a generous 1024 KB upload limit - which is alot for .jpg files but not for .gif files - but it still looks neat anyway?
  12. Now we readers know exactly where you're at don't we! Quote: can you see the gross injustices done to the muslims by US and Israel over the years? Reply: You mention "the muslims" - without any mention of any national origins [or places of abuse] for these "muslims" - there are muslims everywhere in the world aren't there? Are you saying there is a U.S./Israel sponsored program against "muslims" - your comment is broad and ambiguous with an obvious intent to cast aspersion on the U.S. and Israel [you must think that the U.S. is a puppet of Israel too don't you]. You should be more specific to the nature of these "gross injustices" and where? Quote: sure they have often chosen to act in most abominable way in reaction to such treatment, but their cause has merit. Reply: As noted you haven't presented any clear explication of these so-called systematic - "gross injustices" against "muslims" - thus to say "their cause has merit" - is quite curious isn't it. With respect to the terrorists having - "chosen to act in most abominable way" - there are no excuses and you of all people should know that. To say that "their cause has merit" is like saying that they have a good excuse to wreak terror on innocent people. The treatment that you mention - even if it were true - is NO EXCUSE for killing innocent citizens - the leaders of these terrorists are not elected or otherwise chosen by those they kill for - they are self-appointed judge jury and executioner - what could be worse than such self-appointed demons? Where one has some cause for complaint regarding injustices the last thing that one needs to do is act like a demon - who cannot understand that? What if there was an occasion that there could be public sentiment in favor of those suffering but - then along comes someone [to fight on their so-called behalf] who acts like a demon and thus spoils it? Quote: I completely condemn their methods, but I understand their pain. Reply: As noted your seeming condemnation is ambiguous in light of your other comments. How is it 'you' understand 'their' pain? Again more information here could be of help in seeing where you really stand. We have all seen pain in life but - we haven't all suffered injustices [i'm no stranger to either] - have you? If so - in what manner do you "understand their pain"? Quote: when it was convinient, US fully supported people like Saddam, Binladen, and the shah of Iran - who were all butchers. Reply: If I read between the lines it sounds like you still support these "butchers"? Why did the U.S. associate with these "butchers"? Well as you know there was that little issue with the U.S.S.R. - of course the U.S. at times has to deal with certain leaders and regimes which I'm sure they wish they didn't have to. The fact is - I'm sure that when dealing with these dacoit butchers there was the hope that these would turn away from their standard program of violence etc., and adopt a moderate approach to political strifes. With respect to that binladen creep - it would seem that his association with the U.S. was one where they were fighting the U.S.S.R. in Afganistan with the west - then later - after they were successfull and the threat of the U.S.S.R. was gone - these allied dacoit fighters - turned on the west. Since at least then - there has been this attitude that the west is the great satan and that anyone who lives in the west is a target in their so-called war to change things - where they are intent on creating a false version of an Islamic state - with sharia law - a harsh system of laws which were created long after the inception of their faith and this law was changed again and again - to suit those who've enforced it. So in any case the U.S. and Israel are NOT responsible for this program - the factual terror driven program of these "butcher" types! Yes to some measure some westerners [evangelical movements] have been moving as an ideological counter-point to these "butcher" types - but again the U.S. and Israel are NOT responsible for that either. Who is responsible for the attitudes these "butchers" have? Wouldn't it be they themselves? Quote: now they have decided to "liberate" Iraq and kill their former(?) CIA agent, Osama... LOL! Reply: Well Iraq has no more dictator and that is very good for the Iraqi people and if the "butchers" would stop their insurgency program of murders and terror - then the people would of course stabilize their nation and build a better future than they had. As for their wanting to kill their "former agentOsama" [wow you use its first name and it's capitalized too - when you didn't capitalize the word "muslim"?] well what do you think should happen? What reasons do you think they use to justify wanting to "kill...Osama"? Anyone with any understanding can see why he should be found and - Quote: if you do not see gross duplicity and self interest in such politics, you are blind... Reply: I see that in these self-appointed judge jury and executioner types there is a great deal of ugly "gross duplicity and self interest" and - I don't think you can see that. You somehow see these types as - freedom fighters and maybe even - hero types - isn't that correct? For this they brainwash people - who have some "pain" and sense of "injustices" to go and commit violences like homocide bombings - they thus cheat that person out of any real resolution for their pain and injusitice and they make him go to hell for being remorselessly violent - for their ulterior motives. They also thus place a hell-like distance between any others with similar pain and injustices and - real justice/healing. If there is duplicity and self interest within our western leaders - it is motived by individual greed NOT some collective program - where they as a group act violently and mercilessly and worse yet - remorselessly ruthless in the intent to kill - to force their bogus changes. Prabhupada says: For a ksatriya, or administrator, there are so many abominable things; a ksatriya has to be violent to kill his enemies, and sometimes a ksatriya has to tell lies for the sake of diplomacy. Such violence and duplicity accompany political affairs, but a ksatriya is not supposed to give up his occupational duty and try to perform the duties of a brahmana. [bG 18.47, purport] That would be our westrn leaders - not these self-appointed judge jury and executioner types. As for being blind - I must be because I don't see the supposed logic or rational basis for any of your points - within your posting. Quote: as to the Israelis and all the Jews alligned with them: this is the hand that has been stirring Middle Eastern pot for decades, hoping for a nice, mostly free, meal... Reply: Well isn't that nice of you! What a load of bunk! In mentioning "the gross injustices done to the muslims by US and Israel over the years" - you mentioned not one nation where these "muslims" are - thus you imply to the reader that it must be nearly a global effort of some sort against "muslims". Now here you've mentioned - "the Israelis and all the Jews alligned with them" - that is a very pernicious point to make to convince one that you don't have some biased opinion against Jews! [but wait your later comments get closer to your mindset!] The fact is the Jews are not stirring the strife in the M.E. - it is the terrorists who hate Jews [and the West] - they say they don't - that it's the so-called zionist effort to re-create a homeland [and take over the world] for the jewish people that they hate - but like you in your comments here - I see that it's really a sick hate of Jews which is motivating them. I wonder how much credence these self-appointed judge jury and executioner types - who very obviously hate jews - just how much credence do they place in the Islamic myth of Al-Dajal [the so-called jewish anti-christ type that they say shall purportedly arrise one day?] - just like the evangelicals who believe that the so-called future anti-christ is to be a jew! What wonderfully bent theology that is! So the comment that the Jews are in the M.E. looking for a free meal is quite obviously a motivated comment - taken for what it is - bogus. After being hated and - hunted for 2000+ years - for [among the made-up crimes] so-called killing Jesus - some jewish people became motivated to restore a homeland - so that is what happened. Now it's there. Yes some mistakes were made in the formation of the State but - there was NO mass slaughter to make it happen - but - there is a wholesale slaughter being directed at Israelis - how can that be justified? The mistakes made do not warrent the end of the state of Israel - as is desired by those that you're defending here. You speak of Karma - well it was karma and God that brought them home to the land of their ancestors and for this - they do not have any program to exterminate the Palestinians but - more and more the Palestinians are being brainwashed by the self-appointed judge jury and executioner types - brainwashed that there cannot be any two state solution and that Jerusalem [and the Dome] must stay as it is - when they know that - by reason - it cannot. They are being brainwashed into a program to exterminate the Israelis [and later all jews?] and to punish the west for supporting Israel! What if by ill geo-political arrangements - as a result of a global war brought on by this Islamic terror program - what if there was some shift in things and say Saudi Arabia fell into red communist hands and they were to remove the holy place where Muslims revere God - Mecca - then say many generations go by and - and these communists [or others] build something else on that site and while they continue to spread hate and strife on those who were connected to Mecca - so - would Muslims just give up Mecca and the lands around it? No - of course they wouldn't! So things on earth change - why cannot these self-appointed judge jury and executioner types try to see these things - in light of their own faith and needs - they should understand the Hebrew desire to rebuild their homeland - their City of God and Temple. To say that they have no right to this - is wrong. To fight against them in this endeavor - is un-Islamic! Quote: now they are almost ready for their new target: Iran... Lord help us when that war begins... Reply: Oh yeah you seem to think that Iran is run by some moderate peace loving all about inclusion regime don't you. Now - who - is really blind here? You'll see - Iran under it's present leadership - is much like a puss-bag waiting to burst open! It needs to be lanced...if they won't take some medicine to cure their well known 'diseases'! Quote: as to the islamic terrorism: it is simply a reaction to the above mentioned action... do you understand the law of karma, BDM? Reply: Yes Kulapavana I do understand the law of Karma - it's you that seems to see karma through biased eyes. You say that "islamic terrorism...is simply a reaction to the above mentioned action" - I say that it is not a reaction to anything - it's a willing service to the spirit of the age of kali. They also have a program to conquer 'the world' and convert everyone [with force if needed] into their false version of Islam. Yes - that would include you too. Quote: and finally: the Torah, Talmud and it's byproducts... they form the backbone of this greedy sectarianism, and justify the materialistic desire to subjugate others by force in the name of our own god Reply: There it is - a hate for the scriptures themselves - you find everything jewish to be of a comtemptable nature and yet - you get upset if I say you sound like an anti-semite? Yah ok! I think this minset may one day lead you to find something wrong with your own scriptures - then you'll leave your present faith and - where would you then repose your faith and sense of community? I think I know where you might be drawn? I know we've had the let's compare scriptures discussions already - do we have to do that again? You say "in the name of our own god" - the "our" part seems out of context? As for "the materialistic desire to subjugate others by force in the name of our own god" - what about in India - wasn't there an Islamic head tax on the Hindus - during the time of Muslim rule? Why don't you come clean here. YS, BDM
  13. Without a doubt you have failed to note my EXTENSIVE writing in favor of real Muslims and - I have not said anything bad about Arabs - you just do a search and see. Unless you think that the groups and individuals I've been critical of are actually respectable?? I'm not sure at times of your real position on this point. I don't like to ride horses...I do like to offer cream cheese frosting w/bagles never had a matzos before - if you like it I'm sure I would too - because bhoga [foods] are something we shall agree on - without a doubt! So please do that search and see that I'm broadminded in my approach to the Biblical tradition - all three of them! Do I lean to one more than the others? Maybe. When dealing with others - we all have preferences and they do not have to be mutually exclusive in one's estimation - right? I only wish that we would see the Arab League nations take a very proactive role - in forming a coalition of their own - to chase down and bring to justice those who do all this evil in the name of Islam and - who at the end of the day - bring ill-sentiment on all Arabs/Muslims - in the minds of so many. Oh I'm listening so - please "explain something" to me - as noted in your reply? BDM
  14. It ain't just Israel you dislike - it's Jews and anything Jewish. Yup - it's the biblical tradition itself you despise. Just try to show me where I'm being materialistic.... I have a grip - it's you who fail to understand Prabhupada's teachings! YS, BDM
  15. Of course it would be nice to see the weapons destroyed - but - not without a REAL CHANGE in the direction these nations like Iran and Syria are taking. The King should know these noted leaders - have no more respect for him and Jordan - than they do for Israel and - the west! Quote: If the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is resolved, the Arab-Israeli conflict will also be resolved." Reply: That's what I used to think. However - I'm quite certain that that isn't the case - when we hear the leaders of Iran and Hamas - calling for the total annihilation of Israel. Do we really think that when that conflict is resolved these hate mongers are going to just forget all the deep hate and prejudice they cling to? How shall they? So of course we need to resolve that conflict but - that may not be the end of conflict. Even outside their plans of annihilation for Israel - there are plans to spread their version of fanatical Islam - for this program - they will die to kill and - that makes them a clear and present danger. What will they die to kill for? That adds the urgency factor to the issue! These nations - Iran Iraq Syria [and groups like Hamas and the Taliban] - they are more and more sending out their own 'crusaders' - to slaughter people - again - to eventually bully the world with terror - into a submission to their militant version of Isalm? BDM
  16. Well maybe this creep in Iran aught to shut his own mouth - how much hate and terror plans ooze out of his face? As noted in my other posting: He [God] wants us to avert nasty reactions and to do this we at times have to confront ourselves and - at times we have to confront each other - in any case there is going to be confrontations in the metting out of reactive experiances it's all in how we react to these confrontations. Bad people will most certianly confront others - but never themselves. <!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: navbar_link --> Bush - the greatest danger facing US So isn't that the issue with this creep in Iran [and Syria and in too many other places over there] - he wants everyone to ignore his own prejudice and haste to terror programs? Do you deny that he is a loser? The whole Iranian statement is a sick example of hypocrisy in its best light...
  17. May The Leaders Of This Crap Hole Dictatorship Find That God Isn't Impressed With This Nazi Action! SO WHERE IS THE GREAT PRESIDENT OF THIS NATION - TO STOP THIS - OR HAS HE NOW POLARIZED AND - HE IS BEHIND THIS?! JUST SEE THE COMMUNIST CRAP IN THE LAND USE ISSUE TOO!
