I think that the demon that Lord Rama was fighting [Ravana] was a servant of Lord Shiva - so Lord Rama was doing [as part of His Lila i.e.: Eternal Pastimes or 'Sport'] the puja to please Lord Shiva that He [shiva] might not regard the [not so sweet] prayers of Ravana [to defeat Lord Rama and the 'monkey army']. As the Supreme Person Sri Rama wasn't exactly 'worshipping' Lord Shiva - in the sense that we might 'worship' - a greater being. Also as noted - the Lord seeks pleasures in serving His servants.

Well that is a neat question - i've had many - but one rivals the others in one sense - [i'm only giving the basics of the experience] ten years ago when I was making my decision to give up everything and move to the vancouver temple [from edmonton] to live and train-up for a while - [then to later find a place and work outside] so in any case i was always thinking in the month before i went - "oh Lord please give me a sign that it'll all work out" - i wanted this sign before i'd make the decision - so in any case whenever i'd pester the Lord about this He would [i humbly think] pop this in my mind - "you have to do whatever you're going to do independent of what you think I'm going to do" - so of course - that wasn't any great comfort - at the time - but - i did make my choice and - i did give it all up and i went and - it didn't workout so - i later saw what the Lord meant - even though it didn't workout [i didn't stay at the temple nor in vancouver - i left only 5 days after getting there] - i'm the better for having made the choice - and of course Krishna did look after me through all of it. Since then I have had other experiances and have had to make other choices - and it's just like that "you have to do whatever you're going to do independent of what you think I'm going to do" - i know that this isn't a great realization [in the least] - but the circumstances in which it was encountered makes it a memorable one - so much so that I never forgot that matter of fact statement: "you have to do whatever you're going to do independent of what you think I'm going to do"!

That sounds like a best last word on this issue to me....

My very first poster of Krishna [now 18 years old] shows Him with brown skin - it is a very nice poster - i've never seen another like it - not even on line - one day I'll make a copy and post it here... The many pics of Krishna that are around are very nice - even if they appear unreal and 'dreamy' - really - what is that supposed to mean anyway...

Yea and i didn't like that episode where they gave Lord Shiva murti breasts [even though He has a 'female' aspect] - i don't watch the simpsons anymore either - for almost two years ......

You're preaching exclusivity and you're saying that anyone not born indian can 'lift the world' - "not a soul born in a Mlecha country in a Mlecha body" - so I have news for you - India is now a "Mlecha country" every bit as much as any other! It is Kali Yuga dear soul! The western nations are NOT responsible for the rise of these taliban thugs - sure there was a time that the west cooperated with these thugs - in the war against the U.S.S.R. but - to say that because of that the west created these groups is simply wrong. What about the history of India and this sort of Islamic revolution speading there? When Lord Chaitanya encountered the dictator in the well known story of the Kazi - he was the local leader of the Islamic occupation of India - it was NOT a jewish - nor a christian occupation! So in any event you should work on this exclusivity issue you're suffering from...
