  2. I am in no way blaming the Lord for my difficulties. I know it is my own karma but it seems the Lord wanted me to suffer it out at a certain point.
  3. I don't know but in Bengali it is called echor. I don't think that really helped did it? Sorry.
  4. Originally from Burdwan! Well...my sickness happened right after worshipping Him. I never had any health problems before and in 8 months having 3 operations for no good reason sounds a little bit out of it, you know? Especially since I was only 13 at the time. Lord Narasimhadeva thought that it was best that He took me away from my mother, so she could fully concentrate on the Lord. Perhaps the case is different in your family, perhaps you are so detached that the Lord sees no reason to take anything away from you. I know my mother was overly attached to me and while I was sick she gradually became detached and focused on the Lord. I think it depends on the family worshipping Lord Narasimhadeva.
  5. Adi Shankaracharya came to undo the teachings of Lord Buddha. We cannot understand Krishna's plan. The brahmanas were misinterpreting the vedas and taking advantage of them for killing animals for meat. Then Buddha came and preached sunyavada so that people would stop eating meat and killing animals. Then Shankaracharya came to say- No! The Absolute truth is not zero! The Absolute truth is One! Then Ramanujacharya, Madhvacharya etc. came to preach that we are part and parcel of the Supreme Lord not that we are the Supreme Lord ourselves.
  6. Hare Krishna. Please chant the mahamantra 108 times per day. It will help significantly. Your mind will become pure and you will see everyone in equal vision (samah darsinah). Then all the bad habits will fall away by themselves. I fall at your feet and request you to do this because it is for your own good. Your servant eternally, indulekhadasi
  7. Yes, this is what my mother had. Just a few days after she wore it I sprained my ankle pretty bad...so she stopped using it.
  8. Haribol. Lord Chaitanya did severely chastise people who were mayavadis and had a long debate with a scholar like Sarvabhauma Bhattacharyya. He also severely criticized Devananda Pandit because his Bhagavatam commentaries did not speak about bhakti. This is not hatredness but rather it is like a pinch- a wake up call to stop being ignorant and follow the perfect path. This is the duty of the acharya/guru. The acharyas heart bleeds to see people going on the wrong path (such as mayavada) and in their compassion often they can be harsh. Imagine a father who is seeing his son trying to put his finger in a fan. Wouldn't he yell at the son to stop, so that his child would be safe? It is the same case here.
  9. Please try to chant the Mahamantra or hear it while you drive...then no one will have fear (including yourself) about death while driving.
  10. Yes, whatever Krishna does is for one's own good. When I was going through extreme health problems I kept on thinking this and I was not one bit scared of death.
  11. Does blue saphire equate to Nila? My mom used a nila and it didn't work well for her even though her astrologer told her to. You should test it out for 7 days before using it.
  12. Inedible...you should be a stand up comedian! But I guess you are right...if Lord Narasimha personally came it would be well worth it!
  13. Prune juice? Isn't that quite acidic? At least it tastes that way to me. But yes, it does help with constipation.
  14. The only prerequesite for entering the International Society for Krishna Consciousness is wanting to be Krishna conscious.
  15. The thing about Tulsidas was obviously a preaching technique. Perhaps he found a tinge of mayavadi doctrine in something (that we would not be able to decipher) but to protect his young students from getting attracted to impersonalism he may have said Tulsidas was a mayavadi (althought that is obviously not true).
  16. Thanks I will try to install the font..it sounds great!
  17. Reading that quote from Rupa Goswami strikes my heart but I am so contaminated I will forget his instructions within hours.
  18. Don't know but I have a friend who is a Keralan. I will ask her and get back to you hopefully.
  19. I am very fortunate to read this devotee's realizations. One day I hope to have such high realizations.
  20. Still there is some trace of Sanskrit in English...
  21. Thanks for giving this to us. Great way to always think of Krishna!
  22. As I said before it is ok for an acharya to do this. Sometimes what he says cannot be understood by us and sometimes he bashes people as a preaching techinques (comment on Tulsidas). Othertimes what he says is just the blunt truth (Ramakrishna is a rascal for misleading people and letting people think he was god, and since Mirabai worshipped Krishna without Radharani it cannot be called pure devotion). Ignorant people such as me cannot understand his actions. We must understand that Prabhupada is an uttama adhikari (we can just see by what he accomplished) but sometimes to preach he would have to come to the platform of a madhyama adhikari. Otherwise there was no other way to preach to the fallen souls.
  23. Good...I hope people use it so that they will have less trouble in their devotional service.
