It doesn't particulary matter whether the doors to the room are open or closed. But when the deities are sleeping or They are eating They must be covered by a curtain or some type of door.

Tell your mind that the material senses can never be perfect so you cannot have the perfect confidence that whatever you percieve through your senses is perfect or even right. Whenever you feel frustrated in a situation, leave it and do your japa. It will help calm your mind down considerably and you will be able to see things in a better light. You will be able to understand better what your husband is saying and you will be able to answer him properly and with a cool head. Encourage your husband to chant with you that way both of you will be engaged in devotional service. Hare Krishna Prabhuji An person who is simply on the practicing level of Krishna conciousness, if he uses bad words against someone can definitely not be called a bhakta. He will eventually come to his senses only if he obtains the mercy of Guru, Sadhu and Sastra. If he begs forgiveness from all of those who he has offended and restrains from committing those offenses again he will eventually be able to get Krishna prema. However this scenario is not to be confused with an already exalted devotee who is the representative of Krishna. Often times an exalted devotee uses harsh words towards someone to try to bring them to the path of Krishna consciousness (or to help them make progress in Krishna conciousness). Sometimes it takes that extra pinch to make the person aware of their natural identity as Krishna's eternal servant. But these devotees do not have enmity with anyone. They see everyone equally- pandita samah darsinah. However they do not like to mix with those who are averse to Krishna because by associating with them they would be setting a bad example. It is not good to associate with such people because they can contaminate our consciousness. The pure devotees will not be affected by such association but they do not associated with these people because they are showing by example that one should not do so. I hope I have been of some help. Nityananda is Balaram but is in addition Ananga Manjari. Therefore He has even a higher position than Balaram, because He has experience of madhurya rasa.

This was written by Krishnadas Kaviraja Goswami, the author of Chaitanya Charitamrita. I think silence is a very big quality of a devotee. In the case of a devotee silence means not speaking prajalpa, or unneccessary talk, but only talking about Krishna. If everyone was like that, wouldn't that be wonderful?

BTW, I gave a lecture last week at the temple about Lord Nityananda and Ekachakra dhama. Everyone went wild just because I am so young. Then today I gave lecture at the other center we have in our state. It was supposed to be the same lecture, but I varied it a little and added some more information. Please bless me so one day I become a devotee of Lord Nityananda and I will actually be qualified to give lectures about Him (I am not qualified now, but I was asked to do it, so what could I do?).

I know you wanted yogeshji's answer but I want to cut in here and say something. Yes, please encourage them to chant a round or two with you. It will be a very enlivening experience for them and they will feel that you are including them in your spiritual life which will make them feel more comfortable. Doesn't matter they eat meat, by the chanting process ones heart becomes cleansed and after a while they will not have the craving for indulging in bad habits. I wish you all the best. Chant Hare Krishna Mahamantra please. This world is like that. Krishna says- janma mrityu jara vyadi dukha doshanu darshanam. Janma (birth), mrityu (death), jara (old age), vyadi (disease) are the only things you will find in Kali yuga. The only solution is to chant the Hare Krishna mahamantra.

We are not going to wait for Kalki Avatara to come to us. We are going to try our hardest to go to the spiritual world instead where we can be always engaged in the service of Krishna. God has not left us alone. We will never be alone. He is situated right in our hearts as Paramatma. It is just that we don't even realize it.
