  1. ahahahaha what the hell?!! that website is wack.
  2. I think deity worship is fantastic in the sense that can make us more inclined to personalism. That is to say if someones goal revolves around personalism. So in the case of myself I think murti worship is certainly necessary for my spiritual progress. It reminds me of the form of God etc, and also I can do some seva to the deity easily and exchange moods with the deity etc. So it's a good practise for me and I enjoy it very much. It is very enjoyable to sit with form of God in front of you and speak with it. But ultimately depends on ones goal eh?!
  3. Bravo Ganeshprasad! I knew it just be a matter of time before someone came and posted the original scriptural verses. You have done great good for the readers of this forum! In this way also Zaik Nakir (man in video) misquotes. It seems to be a common practise by these types of preachers to always misquote scripture in order to justify their insatiable greed and lust. Truly is despicable. But what is saddening is that there will be many hindus who will come and read those posts made by these cheaters and accept it as fact without investigating their validity. Also Theist, your rebuttal is excellent too and truly combats the idiocy of the pro flesh eating propagandist argument above. Thanks very much.
  4. OK that's fine. But please paste the whole quote. I just don't see the point in Krsna telling me that I am in Goloka Vrndavana if he is directly in front of me. That Krsna is in front of me should be clear enough in itself for me to understand that "Yes I am here with Krsna". And also, if I am with him and I have come straight from the earthly plane would it really be of importance that this issue of my transition into the spiritual plane is discussed with Krsna. As a small gopa or gopi I would be much more interested in playing. I could see Dvarkavasi Krsna explaining this sort of thing but not Syamsunder Krsna. So this is difficult for me to grasp considering there is no Dvarkavasi Krsna in Goloka Vrndavana
  5. Wait I am not sure I understand what you're saying. I thought you were asking how can one know when he has reached vaikuntha. In your case specifically Goloka vrndavana. Well then I ask you, wouldn't it be the case that you open your eyes and see Krsna in front of you playing and then you go and join in? Wouldn't that be a clear enough indication that you've reached? What is the use of relating with paramatma for gopas and gopis when their prayojana is directly in front of them. Also I am little confused. I thought you were asking how can someone remember in vaikuntha that they had practised bhakti previously..
  6. Don't take my word for it. I am not so learned on this point. But I think at that point, if you've reached some Vaikuntha planet then knowledge of what you'd done in the past would be of no concern. Depends on your personality. Obviously if you have arrived in Goloka then all your daily activities would be bhakti so it would just be a matter of waking up or coming back to your natural constitutional position. Then you can assume that you had succeeded in your bhakti. Your every day would be immersed in bhakti it would just be a matter of switching over. I too have pondered if it possible to recall past activities on the earthly plane. I haven't come across an answer yet. But I've read that it is like waking up and you just brush the past off as it were nothing and then you get back to your activities.
  7. Dear Kishore please remember that Jesus taught his followers according to time and circumstance. So he told his followers "I am the only way". He told this to his followers specifically. He didn't come to India and tell the Gopis this... He didn't tell Narada Muni this.. Don't feel bad about it. It is just their ignorance that they can't understand why Jesus was saying that in the first place. It's not that other relgious processes may have been false, it is just where he was teaching a lot of people were so stupid they couldn't understand many things so Jesus had to treat his followers like children and make sure they strictly followed him. I am reminded of that verse where Jesus tells his followers that their ears are too full of wax to understand what he is teaching. Think of this hypothetical example. God is an ocean and there are many rivers leading to the ocean. These rivers can be likened to the different processes or relgions one can take to reach God. So in this way God is unlimited and almighty. He is known in all universes not just in this earth planet. And so he is also has many names too. With that said it we can understand that there are different processes by which we can reach God. Unfortunately not everyone has intelligence to understand this point. So better you not try and argue with these people who are not so smart. Also remember, when you were a child your mother or father may have kept close eye on watching you. Telling you not to do this or that as a matter of protection. So if someone is not so intelligent or a bit weak we tell them they should just follow us.. So there's no fault with Christians or Muslims. They have to do their things according to their own level. Don't worry about it. Muslims and Christians are very passionate, not so much interested in thinking laterally - so better to leave them be. And if they say islam and jesus is the only way to go to heaven.. that's fine. Why do you even want to go to heaven anyway? Heaven is still part of the material world and everyones stay in heavenly planets is temporary. As a hindu you should aim for bhakti only. And if you reach any Vaikuntha planet you have succeeded. I think you should forget these people. Zakir is a cheater too. No use in trying to contact him.
  8. I can honestly say I share your view/sentiment. And I think many other people do too. But out of politeness this sort of thing isn't expressed openly, at least in public. I know well the history, it is indeed a sad one. India which was once the land of the free thinking had been attacked so violently and turned into a prison. I feel much sadness when I think about what has happened. And it is very sad when I see on the TV how India is becoming more and more Islamized. It sucks..
  9. I came across this Zakir Nair person a year or two ago. The person giving the lecture in the video... A lot of the information he gives in his talks are groslly inaccurate and in many cases flat out lies. This man is known for giving the poorest expose on the Bhagavad-Gita. Sonic Yogi is very right when he is advocating this mans attempt to spread propaganda which highlights a superiority of islam over Hinduism. In paritcular he says hindus are pantheists and they think everything is god. And then he says "us muslims believe everything belongs to god". So he makes these subtle false claims without explaining. And then of course all the muslims believe what he is saying is true and see islam as superior. I had seen one or two vidoes were this man was challenged by hindus in the audience. They would call Zaik out on his nonsencial talk but the microphones would be quickly taken away from the hindu members of the audience and the topic would be changed. Also it's amazing how he quotes so nicely from so many numerous texts. Many verses he quote don't exist and also his talks are preplanned - so he knows what he will quote. It's not that he can think of the right quote at any given time. His show is certainly a well orchestrated one. By wooing the audience with his clear ability to talk and by showcasing his brilliant mind he aims to convert those to islam. He is certainly a very intelligent muslim propagandist. It is just a shame he lies in order to push his movement. There are plenty of websites out there that discuss his lying and propaganda tactics. Just search if you're interested. Also let it be known, I do think his general talks of God are very nice too. Its just when he starts discussing other religions then he cheats.

  11. Hey melvin, yeah these are very nice topics. And they nourish the heart so well. Actually I've almost finished reading a book called "The Origin of Ratha-Yatra". It's a compilation of lectures and discusses these kinds of topics. Please check it out, click here For these kinds of topics its best to understand their importance and meaning with the help of archryas rather than try to figure them out on our own. And I'm quite new to these topics too, so I can't really comment - I wouldn't feel right. Anyway, I think you'd enjoy that book. I read your comment and I had to share this.
  12. This is very sad news to hear, but what else can be said. Remember though, not a single piece of grass moves without the sanction of Krsna so maybe Krsna has allowed for this incident to take place for reasons beyond our understanding..
  13. man Singh, you got your ass handed to you in this thread! Just goes to show, you can't defame Krsna - He'll some way or another put the shame on you if you're ill minded. And FYI, actually noonedied in that battle. All the soldiers got liberation - only their bodies were finished. The soul is eternal you see. So all the soldiers, whether demoniac or good received liberation. God is so merciful you know..
  14. Hehe this is probably not accurate as what I'm about to say is from a movie. But in that bollywood film 'Jodhaa Akbar' he marries that woman who appears to be a Vaisnavi as it is made clear in the film that she's devoted to her. Also Akbar becomes vegetarian too. Oh yeah I aslo heard one story from a devotee about how Akbar visited Vrndavan. He asked one baba for some seva and so the baba told him to fix one step. But then when Akbar saw the step he saw it was full of jewels. He went back to the baba and said "I'm sorry, but even if I sold all my kingdoms I would not be able to fix this step".
