  2. Caitanya: Angel of chanting Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare - the only spiritual process recommended in scripture for the modern age.
  3. Please show me anywhere in what I posted where I said anything about neglecting to practice sadhana as best one can? You don't have to accuse me of saying something I never said. My point was that even with our best effort at sadhana we are still going to need guru kripa to attain perfection. Our best efforts at sadhana are still very insufficient without the special mercy of Guru-Krsna. Even with 64 rounds a day and all the austerities combined we would still need the kripa to make it. What to speak of 16 rounds a day, four regs and hanging out on the forums all day gossiping about fallen gurus.
  4. Maybe you didn't read close enough? Krsnadas Kaviraja Goswami stressed krpa-siddhi. Maybe you don't agree with Krsnadas Kaviraja Goswami? Anyone so proud of themselves to think they can attain perfection with their lame attempts at sadhana is only fooling themselves. Without krpa-siddhi nobody gets out alive.
  5. How come kripa-siddha always gets ignored? Fact is, a western devotee chanting 16 measly rounds a day and struggling to meet the minimum standard has NO CHANCE of becoming sadhana-siddha. Sadhana-siddha is for greatly austere devotees whose sadhana is thousands of times more rigid than western devotees. Reality is that we should better be praying for and thinking about kripa-siddha. Only an arrogant disciple would ever think he can attain perfection via sadhana-siddha. CC ADI. 8 -
  6. another point that I think is important to understand is that Srila Prabhupada was speaking directly to disciples who had been initiated with the bhakti-lata bija. so, for them, yes the seed of the spiritual body is already there. But, I don't think you can apply what Srila Prabhupada said or wrote to his initiated disciples to every Tom, Dick and Hairy jiva in the material world. Sure, for devotees who have been initiated, the spiritual body has already been acquired in a seed form in terms of the particular brand of bhakti they have imbibed from the Guru, Mahaprabhu and the Rupanuga sampradaya. So, for Prabhupada to tell a disciple "your spiritual body is already there" is not very impracticle because in fact the spiritual body is acquired in seed form at the time of diksha. The seed of the spiritual body must be fully realized in course of perfection of devotional service beyond the modes of material nature.
  7. Another angle of thinking about the idea of reviving a spiritual body in Vaikuntha is in terms of the living entity who spiritualizes his senses through devotional service and thus transforms his material body into a spiritual body. Then, the spiritual senses and the spiritual body that the living entity acquires through perfection of full-fledged service and surrender can be revived again in the spiritual world. The spiritual body is evolved through perfection of devotional service. The spiritual body that one acquires which is his emotional body of loving feelings for the Lord will be revived in the spiritual world. The spiritual body is acquired in this world through the mercy of the pure devotee and Krishna. Then, that spiritual body is revived in the spiritual world or re-awakened in the spiritual world upon leaving the gross material body which itself became transformed into spiritual function through devotional service. The loving mood, the feeling, the rasa that one develops for Krishna is the spiritual body. The spiritual body is non-different than the type of love or devotion that one feels for the Lord.
  8. I am with you on that one bro. In fact, there comes a point where the institutional attachment becomes an insurmountable obstacle. It's like if a kid never grows up and leaves home but stays home all his life depending on his Mommy and Daddy. The baby bird is always afraid when he first flies out of the nest, but if he doesn't he will never learn to fly on his own. Staying back at the nest waiting for someone to bring us a worm is not going to work in the long run.
  9. The original svarupa of the jiva is described by Mahaprabhu. So, Mahaprabhu reveals the original svarupa of the jiva So, Prabhupada might have played some sematics with the concept of the original form of the jiva. The purpose of Prabhupada saying the jiva has an original form is to defeat the Mayavadi and Buddhist concept that the jiva has no form. Actually, the jiva's original form is explained here by Mahaprabhu as being a spiritual spark. Mahaprabhu never preached in terms of any devotee in Goloka falling into illusion. That idea goes against the infallible nature of liberated souls. The fall from Goloka fairy tale was not within the scope of what Mahaprabhu taught.
  10. Well, what we do is just open up and say things that in ordinary dealings we would just clam-up, be diplomatic and not actually say what we think. Inside, we are all fanatic about what we believe. The forum just gives us a chance to say what we think honestly without holding back and being more civil and mannered. Most of us avoid arguing and debating people in person one on one. It's just not a very cool thing to do. The forum just gives us a chance to vent our true thoughts in the comfort zone of our own homes. I don't think it is about becoming fanatic because of the forum. It is just that we vent our deeper thoughts and beliefs in a way that gives everyone their fifteen minutes of fame within a very small parameter. I never talk religion or politics in my ordinary dealings. The forum gives me a chance to say what I think and if somebody disagrees we can debate and see who's logic prevails.
  11. Originally, we all had Troll bodies but we projected our consciousness to the material world and have falsely identified ourselves as humans. When we become "Troll-realized" we will re-awaken our inner Troll and go back home back to Trollaloka where we will herd lemmings with Sri Trollpal the immortal Lemmingherd Troll.
  12. Ultimately, it was Krishna as the time factor in the form of Lord Shiva that brought about the circumstances to usher in the age of Kali. Kali-yuga comes on schedule. Time and tide wait for no man.
  13. It is not impossible to imagine a bull on the ground with three legs broken and only one leg left in somewhat of a standing position. It is not like the bull was just totally standing upright on one leg. The bull was for the most part not standing and attempting to stand on one leg. That is about the only way we can imagine it by the descriptions. Yet, at the same time, I agree that there is an allegorical aspect to it. I think all these things are allegorical and personified at the same time. Just like Rahu is allegorical of shadow consciousness yet is a planet accepted by Lord Brahma into the universal scheme.
  14. I would say that originally I came out of curiosity and some wisdom. I was never to the kind of guy to go to God or pray for anything. I was just reading books on yoga and came across the books of Srila Prabhupada and I took to devotional service out of the wisdom I acquired from the books. I was young and adventuresome. I came to serve Krishna out of wisdom. I didn't come for material rewards. I wanted to become an immortal in the spiritual world.
  15. I am absolutely the best devotee on the planet. I am guru to the gurus. I am acharya to the acharyas. I am wonderful beyond words. And, yes, I am also a very humble devotee. If you don't believe me then just ask me, I will tell you.
  16. so, the kid is getting some job training before he can even walk?
  17. What sort of religion would do this to a child? <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCeP-rXOFVY&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344">

  19. So Prabhupada made a GBC, sannyasi and ritvik out of a man that he felt was not a Vaishnava? So, Gurukripa waited over 30 years to share this little tidbit? How curious. This kind of revelation cannot do much except call in to question the judgment and character of Srila Prabhupada.
  20. Somebody has a lot of time on their hands. Have you made your bed yet and washed your laundry? Don't forget to wash your bead bag everyday.
