Planets never actually move backwards (except Rahu and Ketu). The Retrograde status is an illusion due to the relationship between the Earth and the other planet. There seem to be differing opinions on Retrograde planets. Some say simply that the planet is weakened. Some say it "reverses" the position of the planet (i.e. An exalted Jupiter Retrograde would act debilitated and a debilitated Retrograde Jupiter would act exalted). Then there are some that actually say a retrograde planet is stronger. Most seem to agree that benefic planets seem to get more benefic and malefics get more malefic when retrograde. It tends to cause an introversion of that planet's energy. Retrograde Mercury and give an interest in history, the occult or secretive/spiritual things. It can retard self-expression a little. ® Mars can sometimes act almost like debiliated mars (but not as serious). ® Jupiter gives more an interest in mysticism than orthodoxy. ® Saturn can give many setbacks in life, etc. Vargottoma means, literally "best subdivision" and means that the planet occupies the same position in the Navamsha chart as the birth chart or Rasi Chakra. Most belief this strengthens the planet considerably. There are those that feel when a planet is vargottoma it can almost be regarded as being in its own sign. - Pablo

I believe Deepa is quite correct, lord of 7th DOES mean spouse and placed in the 12th house can reveal divorce, death of spouse, etc. I also agree with you that Jupiter's glance on 7th helps but "lords in houses" tend to be stronger than aspects. 7th lord in 12 can also indicate a very reclusive or spiritual spouse. A spouse that does not want a "major role in the world". You should not worry at all about Sani's aspect on Guru. Guru is in its own sign and Saturn exalted! It is marvelously fortunate. Mars and Saturn together in 9th however can sometimes give feelings of frustration or delay. But in the end there is much wealth and success in this chart. - Pablo

I am not here to give anyone offence to anyone. And I almost never comment on another astrologers' advice, after all this is a free list and everyone has a right to their opinion. The only exception I must make is if advice offered could be truly harmful to the person, then I must say something. If you notice from my original post I did not even name you I simply said Mars is not auspicious for Geminis and wearing of Red coral is ill-advised. This is especially true for this person who has both Sun and Mars on Lagna, both difficult planets for a Gemini and yet both are strongly placed. Regards, Pablo

Rahu in the 12th during AD of Rahu causes one to be a little cloistered from the world. It can bring out fine spiritual tendencies in the person and an interest in the occult. But it can also make one feel that nothing is going forward in the material life. All 12th house issues come to the forefront (death, moksha, sex, spirituality, mysticism, etc.) In Feb of '09 things will start to change, especially in the realm of relationships. You are at the tail end of your Mars MD, you should have worn Red coral at the beginning. Ruby will do no good, Sun is already so strong exalted and in the most powerful house. Moon is in the 2nd in Kema druma yoga and as you mentioned you are undergoing SadeShati. You should get a large pearl and wear a pearl necklace at night. This will help all manner of pain in the face, eyes, etc. Prayers to lord Saturn on Saturdays is highly recommended. Eyebright is a good herb for the eyes. Red coral is still a very good idea. This native should NOT wear red coral. Mars is evil for Gemini and aspects ascendant, 7th house and lord of 7th. But worshipping Kuja on Tuesdays is acceptable.

He represents Gurus, teachers, spiritual preceptors, enlightened beings, brahmins and all the forces of light & divine grace (especially Ganesh). He favors the color yellow or Gold and represents all things large or massive. I love my Guru's description of the word "GURU". He said, "The Guru is not God. Nor is the Guru a human being. The Guru is simply the Guru, the grace bestowing power of God." The sanskrit word "Guru" also means "heavy" and he not only causes physical heaviness & fat but also importance. Jupiter rules the liver and sometimes people with weak Jupiter may have liver problems susceptibility to Jaundice, Cirrosis, etc. Milk thistle is particularly good for cleansing the liver. This person is currently running a Rahu/Saturn phase until April/2011. Until then marriage probably won't work. But money/business could go well. This person must wear a yellow sapphire for Jupiter and honor the Guru daily, very important. Yes you can wear Pearl pendant. I'm not sure about the Blue Sapphire. You might want to experiment with taking it off for awhile. Saturn is not harmed in your chart and aspects the moon. Some people might say you lack people skills because of weak moon in the chart giving lack of patience in dealing with people and ordinary stresses of personal contact. It also makes finding a marriage partner difficult. Also Mars and Saturn are aspecting the moon which adds to that. A good astrologer can be found when there is a strong 8th house (sometimes strong 12th house too)...it gives an abiding interest in astrology as does Moon in Scorpio. Also when there are so many planets in 8th house the person is usually interestd in unusual things, mysterious things and often there is an interest in the occult, tantra, etc. It is not so favored for ordinary things of life like the business world which can get repetitive. From an astrological point of view, your husband karma is not good to be honest. Jupiter is in the 8th debilitated. The fact that it is retrograde might help a little but still it's not so good. Also moon is with Rahu and aspected by Saturn so your mind is often cloudy/confused. It's very important to honor Lord Jupiter. On every Thursday purchase for yourself a small amount of chickpeas and raisins. Cook the chickpeas until they are soft and then add raisins. You can sweeten with a little sugar. It doesn't take that long. Offer a prayer to God and eat some of this. In addition you should offer the remainder to anyone who wants it. You can say it's a special preparation which brings good luck. Also some charity to priests, Gurus, etc. is in order and will really help you. There is a book entitled "the greatness of Saturn". In your chart Saturn is very strong so you don't need it for that, but there are certain rituals mentioned for Jupiter which you might appreciate. Anuradha does indicate friendship but it is still ruled by Mars and moon there can indicate someone who wants friends badly and perhaps wants to be a friend badly. But they may be inappropriate about how they go about seeking/maintaining friendships. I cannot tell without a precise look at the chart.

I am sorry this is incorrect. Moon is debilitated in ALL OF SCORPIO. This goes for anything else (Sun is exalted in ALL of ARIES, Mars is debilitated in ALL of Cancer). It is worst at 3 degrees of scorpio but still even at 25 degrees of Scorpio moon is debilitated (not as badly but still debilitated). Are you male or female? This chart has heavy afflictions to the moon, this is why Sade Sati is particularly intense. However the rest of the chart is quite strong. You are going through a difficult cycle (Ketu/Moon). Because both planets are in the 11th house, it makes you very ambitious and seeking of wealth and opportunity but these things manifest slowly and only with extreme effort. But now is not a good time. It might be difficult for elder brothers/uncles too. In Jan of 2009 you will get relief as Mars AD begins which is exalted in your chart. I would highly recommend all Shanti methods for the moon including wearing a nice sized pearl. I read this article. I do not understand why specifically Kalasarpa yoga would be used to rip off clients. An astrologer could do this with anything. He could say 'look you have Kema druma yoga, you must pay 25000 rupees to get right shanti' or 'look you have papa kartari yoga, you must 50000 rupees for proper treatment'. Or they could say 'with such heavy malefics influencing ascendant and moon you must pay 100000 rupees for right shanti methods, yajna, etc.' I'm not saying Mr. Rao is wrong. Perhaps he was witnessing much of this fraud first hand, but I do not see why anytime anything new is discovered we must assume that anytime someone takes advantage of that, then this "DISCOVERY" must be considered a fraud. I have noticed that people with KalaSarpa yoga have very unusual lives whether those are extremely good or extremely bad. I remember reading about Francis Ford Coppola who has a strong Kala Sarpa yoga in his chart. If the moon is debilitated often there isn't much patience for relationships and the native can get irritated/offended easily. It makes one private and secretive. I do not know where it is written that Anuradha is good for relationships. Mars in 1,4,7,10 from moon may help a little but does not remove debilitation. If it is 7th from moon that is sure Kuja dosha. It strengthens moon a bit but causes much anger. - pablo

This is TRULY EXCELLENT ADVICE! Often when one tries too many mantras, gemstones, etc. they are panicking. Their mind is not at peace and the extra "work" is only bringing them more agitation. You cannot be too eager for results otherwise who exactly is the master and who is the disciple? If you want instant gains when you chant a mantra aren't you asking God to be the slave? God is not like a genie lying in a lamp. Also, bad karmas come from things we have done in past lives or maybe even in this life time. Should we expect ALL to be forgiven just like that? Because we recite a mantra or put on a gemstone? These upayas are there to help ease things A BIT. They will not absolve you of your karmic responsibility. The most important attitude you can adopt when going through difficult times is to understand that on some level you deserve it. The worst feeling is when you think you are suffering through no fault of your own. Don't be fooled! There is no such thing. Keep doing the mantras but in a DISCIPLINED fashion. Not too much not too little.

Yes, irrespective of where the 10th lord resides that is correct. What does it matter? If it is in a weak house it will need to be strengthened. If it is in a strong house already diamond will only make things better. Venus will not cause harm to other planets.
