Hello Dear Friends, Im writing this letter to ask for some help about how to get an acupuncture license in Europe (it can be also North of Africa). My Teacher is Korean Buddhist monk and a doctor of acupuncture with licenses from Korea, China and Mongolia. Now he lives in Mongolia but wants to move to Europe or North of Africa. With some good help we have discovered that it is difficult to get a license in France bcs he needs to study French about 3 years and then he needs to study as a doctor there at the university and pass exams and it will take more than 6 years total or even more. We would really love to get some help about any information where it is easier to get an acupuncture license in Europe or North Africa. We understand that Europe includes many countries, that's why you can share any information about any country and we will combine all of this knowledge from you and choose the best one. As for quite the abbreviated "cliffnotes" version of a background: I started out as a harē kr̥ṣṇa in high school and, ironically, much much later after practicing Ashtanga and Vinyasa-style yoga for eight-and-half years, had not made any sort of connection with my Hindu past until recently after my former partner and best friend died of renal cell carcinoma. I just joined this forum yesterday day/ I have few questions about What happens after death? I have finished reading the Great Bhavat Gita about a month ago. It is quite interesting to read the Gita and felt like everyone should read it and try to understand the teachings of Lord Krishna. Since I know Sanskrit from my childhood, I was able to read both Tamil and Sanskrit versions. I am now coming to my question to learned audiences. One (like me) did not practice the Gayatri Mantra though it was taught to me in my childhood, which I felt at my old age, can I get the Nama Japam from a Guruji and practice it sincerely be able to attain my wishes? Since I missed this great opportunity, I am willing to have a rebirth as very sacred soul like Adi Sankara or St Thiagaraja Swamigal and live like a Sanyasi or Siddha Purusha and learn the Vedas, Upanishads, puranas and slogas etc so that I become deserved soul to reach the Lotus Feet of Lord Krishna. Is this a possible wish come true.I need to seek the blessings of learned Guruji. It may look funny to some, but it is my true wish. Thanks for all those who read this post and responses and guidances.16 points -
Namaste! Greetings all Beloves Sisters and Brothers of the Hindu Dharma path, I would like to state on the very beginning that I am very happy to be here and therefore I feel with all of my heart that it is the wonderful place to maintain the discussions conncerning our path and that Guru is in everyone and I would like to tell that it is by the nature that all of us are spiritual perceptors and I am not afraid to state that I am such being but I am not an egocentric and I am only purely working with myself without telling anyone who he / she shall do to fulfill on the path as well as I will not participate in the paid Hindu courses whcih I've found on the internet and thought that they are free but they are not. I am not throwing around the advanced expert names for the Gods, Worship and other aspects of working and I work with all of the aspects of the Hindu Dharma even sikhsism without being one but just exploring all of them in balance and without dividing as a true Mystic and what is mysticism is everything that leads toward the inner and outer cleansing and this process goes on eternally and is not going to be finished after a couple of some achievements. I am here not to spam but to share with all of you the experiences and discuss over all aspects of our path and everyday existence, I would like to send my sincere words of Loyalty and Love to the Adepts of the Hindu Dharma path as I will continue my progress naturally and without having any so called temples as this is not my aims, I am not a follower neither but I am loving the Hindu Faith truly and faithfully without making other traditions of Hindu Dharma less important and I work with all of them in balance, thank you for spending time and reading the message I left here with the best wishes for all of you on the path of Hindu Dharma. I have always been fascinated and intrigued by the drawings one finds on streets and pavements, even in homes . Some with graphic designs, geometric patterns, stars, flowers, triangles etc. They are done with chalk, paint, powder and whatever . They are commonly seen at high holidays like at Taipusam or Timithee. Is there a name for this "street art"? Are there particular designs used for particular reasons. Ive seen fresh flowers offered on top of the drawings. Is there a book I could read to learn more about this? Appreciate any information supplied .15 points -

Simple Sadhna
kirti upadhyay and one other reacted to The Editor for a topic
In the present age of Kali yuga mantra japa is the yuga dharma, or main process for self realization. It is simple, requires no background qualification, and can be done anywhere at any time. Sit down in a peaceful place and silently chant your mantra. In the beginning start for 10 minutes, and gradually increase. The mind will become fixed and peaceful usually after 30 minutes, and then the more fruitful sadhana will start. Other options for sadhana are puja (worshipping a deity of God), meditation (dhyanam), svadhyaya (self study of scriptures), etc.2 points -

Vivekananda's Speech
homicomiHaink reacted to shvu for a topic
Here are some excerpts from Vivekananda's Speech at the Parliament of religions, held at Chicago in 1893. I am proud to belong to a religion which has taught the world both tolerance and universal acceptance. We believe not only in universal toleration, but we accept all religions as true. I am proud to belong to a nation which has sheltered the persecuted and the refugees of all religions and all nations of the earth. I am proud to tell you that we have gathered in our bosom the purest remnant of the Israelites, who came to Southern India and took refuge with us in the very year in which their holy temple was shattered to pieces by Roman tyranny. I am proud to belong to the religion which has sheltered and is still fostering the remnant of the grand Zoroastrian nation. I will quote to you, brethren, a few lines from a hymn which I remember to have repeated from my earliest boyhood, which is every day repeated by millions of human beings: "As the different streams having their sources in different paths which men take through different tendencies, various though they appear, crooked or straight, all lead to Thee." The present convention, which is one of the most august assemblies ever held, is in itself a vindication, a declaration to the world of the wonderful doctrine preached in the Gita: "Whosoever comes to Me, through whatsoever form, I reach him; all men are struggling through paths which in the end lead to me." The seed is put in the ground, and earth and air and water are placed around it. Does the seed become the earth, or the air, or the water? No. It becomes a plant. It develops after the law of its own growth, assimilates the air, the earth, and the water, converts them into plant substance, and grows into a plant. Similar is the case with religion. The Christian is not to become a Hindu or a Buddhist, nor a Hindu or a Buddhist to become a Christian. But each must assimilate the spirit of the others and yet preserve his individuality and grow according to his own law of growth. Cheers1 point -
Chapter 4: Karma, Akarma and Vikarma
RS Rana gave a reaction for a topic
Karma, Akarma and Vikarma While explaining Karma, Gita talks of akarma and vikarma also. One has to clearly distinguish the action, inaction and wrong action (IV. 17). Vikarma is wrong action while akarma is inaction. One should not indulge in either wrong action or be inactive. Actions consist of bodily actions, verbal actions and mental actions. All these are satvika, rajasa or tamasa. Yajna, dana, tapas etc. are different forms of activities. There are many forms of yajnas: dravyayajna, tapoyajna, yogayajna, svadyaya yajna, jnanayajna etc. All these involve various kinds of activities. Thus, Gita concept of yajna is not confined to rituals only. Cultivation of sama, dama etc. is as much an activity as the performance of rituals. Performing one's varnasrama duties is a part of one's activities. Service to the people at large in all possible ways is also one's duty. Thus, Gita concept of karma consists of all such activities that are essential for the physical, moral and spiritual progress of an individual and society. Any slackening or abandoning of one's duty is adharma and executing the same is svadharma. Transgressing into some one else's duty is also adharma. Philosophical Meanings of Karma, Akarma and Vikarma: The expressions karma, akarma and vikarma apart from meaning action, inaction, and wrong action have deeper philosophical meanings also. This philosophical meaning is brought out in the verse `Karmani akarma yah pasyet (4-18)' etc. When one undertakes an activity, one has to realize that it is not he who is doing it but God is behind it. This is what is meant by `Karmani akarma'. Similarly, when one is not doing anything, say in the dream, one has to realize that God is active even then, this is `akarmani karma'. Thus one has to realize that all his activities are prompted by God and even when one is not active God is active. This is the philosophical meaning of `Karmani akarma' etc. The expressions karma and akarma also mean Jiva and God respectively. Karma i.e. jiva is akarma inactive in the sense that he cannot undertake every activity independently. Similarly akarma i.e., God is karma always active independently. The realization of these philosophical meanings gives correct perspective in respect of one's ability. This will check our kartrtvabhimana and enable us to subdue our raga, dvesa etc. Further, one has to realize that all activities are sponsored by the God, designated as Prakrti, according to the nature of the jiva concerned and given effect to through his body, antahkarana etc. He has also to realize that it is all the play of the attributes of prakrti. i.e., satva, rajas etc. directed and regulated by the supreme God. Such a realization will pave the way for nivrttakarmanuthana. The word Prakrti has both the meanings viz. God, and Jadaprakrti. Engaging oneself in such a nivrttakarma, one has to dedicate the results of his activity at the feet of God. This is tyaga. Gita declares it more than once. `Mayi sarvani karmani sannyasya (3-30),' `Yat karosi yad asnasi' etc. several statements make it clear that the fulfillment of work is in the dedication of it to the God. Work is worship is the motto of Gita. `Svakarmanatam abhyarchya Siddhim Vindati manavah'. Sankara explanation comes from the Advaitic stand point. He contends that in Atman (SELF) there is akarma (no action) and in the self (body/mind/intellect) there is karma (there is no rest even while resting!) Ramanuja points out that akarma is Atmajnana. The wise person visualizes jnana in the true performance of karma. For such persons, jnana and karma always go together and they become inseparable! According Madhava, akarma is the inactivity of the self and the activity of the MahaVishnu. Wise persons with such an attitude witnesses the activity of the Lord without paying attention to work performed by body/mind/intellect. Interestingly we don't see any contradiction if we look carefully the interpretations of karma and akarma using advaita or dwaita or visitadwaita points of view. Gita fundamentally focuses on the attitude of the person performing the action and the verses 16 to 22 of chapter 4 should be studied and comprehended fully. Gita is more concerned with the right approach to the performance of karma rather than running away from karma. The right approach consists of two important aspects: 1. Sankalpa sannyasa or abdication of motives. 2. Tyaga or offering of the results at the feet of God. This way of performing karma is known as niskamakarma or nivrttakarma. Gita declares that one should concern oneself with the duties to be performed but not with the results that may accrue. `Let not the result of thy activity be the motive of thy activity' Gita retorts. The Mimamsakas define the eligibility or adhikara for an undertaking in terms of the interest in the results on the part of the person undertaking it. Certain undertakings are enjoined for those who are desirous of the results of those undertakings. Gita reverses the process. Eligibility is to be determined with reference to the duty as prescribed by the Sastra but not in terms of the interest of an individual in the result of that particular undertaking. This approach is expressed in Gita by the expressions like `sangam tyaktva', `asaktah', `kamasankalpavarjita' etc. Activity undertaken with such a frame of mind is known as riskamakarma or nivrttakarma. Such an attitude is possible only, if one understands his role in the activity correctly, Agent alone does not execute an activity: Most men are under the wrong impression that it is only the karta or the agent who is solely responsible for the activity undertaken by him. But there are five factors underlying each activity. These are: I. Adhisthana i.e., the place, the ground, or the object with reference to which an activity is initiated. 2. Karta i.e., agent, the Jiva when is only a dependent agent. 3. Karana i.e. the instruments i.e. Indriyas etc. 4. Vividha chesta i.e. the various actions of these that are necessary for the production of results. 5. Daiva i.e. the supreme God who is behind all these as director and regulator. One who knows this will easily realize his limited role and will be able to undertake niskamakarma.1 point -

Weight Loss/ Fat Loss
Reshma B J reacted to Raveena for a topic
Losing weight and with weight loss, we of course mean fat loss; is not an easy thing to do. Especially the stubborn areas (muffin tops, belly area) are the hardest. The best way and also scientifically proven way of losing fat, is through a combination of diet (clean eating on regular timings) and exercise (at least once in 3 days). You have to find out for yourself, which exercise suits you best. Just sign yourself up for a few tryouts or enroll in a gym. A few tips: - Read "Don't lose your mind, lose your weight." By Rujuta Diweka. - Start eating consciously, try not to overeat. - Add weights to your fitness regime (the more muscles you have, the more fat your burn). - Try yoga: yoga gives you overall health benefits and helps you keeping a calm state of mind. - Eat at regular times. You have to keep in mind that there will be some bad days, but don't lose faith. Continue living healthy and you will get the body you dreamt of. Hope this helps. R1 point -

Das Mahavidya CHINNAMASTA ( help )
graphire78 reacted to amitgoku for a topic
Hey I'm no priest nor a man that knows a whole lot but I do worship goddesses and so I'll give you my personal opinion on the subject matter. In short the answer is yes. From my knowledge ( I could be wrong), Chinnamasta is part of the das mahavidya's the ten tantric goddesses of india. Based on this, the point of worshipping any mahavidya is to worship raw power so ideas about people saying she's dangerous, scary bla bla bla could be taken as reality because logically speaking raw power is untamed and uncontrolled and what's the point of worshippping a tamed goddess? these goddesses including chinnamasta don't fit this picture or ideology. So take that at face value. One thing I am certain of is that anyone who worships any mahavidya seems to find immediate effects (I guess their sometimes considered negative as the outcomes may not be what they were expecting and perhaps may be undesirable). Now to answer you question, the best answer is yes and you should experiment with the idea. Actually worship her and see what happens. By definition, a worshipper should have a pure heart and be honest and true to his worship in regards to his deity (This is universal point). In this case worship her and see what happens, if you think its bad then stop otherwise continue with the worship. I mean come on its not like your going to die by worshipping her or something, so be brave and give it an honest try. Now the mantra that is required, sorry I don't know I personally worship goddess kali and durga and though I am fascinated by the mahavidya's and there highly attracted to me and come in the most exotic of forms, I don't know sanskrit or hindi to be able to read those mantras so I can't give you help there. The most I can do is encourage you to give it a shot.1 point -
Will spiritual dreams come true
saranyakrishnan reacted to Purav D. Divecha for a topic
Are you aware of the Akashic records? There is the concept that there is a unified field of memories of everyone and everything and that this is what people tap into when they retrieve memories of past lives. However this field is also accessible by anyone and I do think that sometimes we tap into this field when we sleep. Not always but sometimes. I have found in my research that a lot of people have dream of certain places they always seem to visit in dreams almost as if these are real places. I also know a lot of people will seem to be meeting the same people in their dreams even though they have never met them-but they seem so real. I believe this is because they have tapped into the field I alluded to and indeed these places are real and exist. Your dream could be this-but as I say not all dreams are tapping into this field-and only experienced meditators are able to do this with controlled precision-and so they are able to recognise when their dreams are just dreams and when dreams are the drawing of memories from the universal memory field. It is possible to come to some form of understanding about your dream but it would involve a deeper analysis of yourself and your current life. Hope that explains a little!1 point -

yakshas or yakshini or something more evil?
JennoOxype reacted to greatt for a topic
This is probably a big plot against your success by your bua and chachi, they are jealous of you or something. Your aura is being polluted by their ill intent and they have done some terrible black magic(whose mechanism i can only speculate would be to send some kind of spirit that gives weird dreams and sucks/ manipulate your physical "prana"(it is the essential read about it on google, which spirits feed on) due to which your experiences are so drastic and even physically influencing. There are many well known babas who are really good at their work who can help you. I myself have gone to this baba: Dr. Prakash Indian Tata although i had weird health problems, my problems were more related to astrology. It may not have made much sense for me to have gone to him but i think your case is very deserving of his service. He is NOT a tantrik , he is a man who has attained many siddhis by meditating from the age of 6 to 20 years of age. You can check his info on youtube.com(actually i saw his stuff on mano ya na mano on star utsav). His practices are also not tantrik, he only meditates on people auras and check if there is some trail or something evil attached to it and he can trace the energy of it( you can say he is psychic). Until you actually seek a real solution to this problem, i can only tell you keep away from your bua/chachi and recite narayan kavach and hanuman chalisa. Many a time such evil vengeance from some women( in your case, bua/chachi) and then, women performing black magic (which definitely involves some or the other aspect of Goddess Durga, as they only tend to make wrong use of such a powerful Goddess); can be a very difficult problem to actually resolve. "also in my dreams i see temples gods and real ones ...these places i have never visited in person but they do exist as i get to know later" this means that sometimes there are also solutions in your dreams. You definitely need to find out about these temples and visit them. There is a Kamakhya Temple which is the only worldwide-recognised tantric temple in guwahat in assam where many tantriks come to perform you know, rituals, quite recognised as they are, you may try giving it a thought. -> Dont accept anything that your bua/chachi give you to eat. -> Try to avoid directly looking into your bua/ chachi's eyes. That "negative will power" is transmitted by their eyes. -> Try reciting any hanuman mantras and visualise defeating their drishti. For example, since your fav god is shiva, try visualising shiva by your side and crushing all the negative energy that your bua is sending with his trishul. Or even reciting hanuman mantras at the time you interact with them could be very useful. -> try having "ganga jal" every morning after bath. -> wash tulsi leaves in ganga jal and hold it in your palm. Chant hanuman chalisa and any shiva mantra that you like and after that, INTEND that all your problems are solved, THEN eat it. Personally i feel that any religious practice that is concerned with durga needs great discipline, mental and personal hygiene and pure sattvic intentions. It is a difficult practice and since Durga ma is most pious even to evil spirits, these attach to her wherever there are prayers or hymns of any form of Durga devi. IT IS observed that people have weird experiences with the practice of durga ma especially because of this. IT IS better if you can worship Parvati devi instead of Durga for the reasons of which i have stated in this paragraph. And it is actually because of this reason that elders who have posted on this thread have told you to have a proper guidance from a guru to practice chandi paath; as your guru will make sure the "way to worship Durga" is clean and without influence of bad spirits. Hope you get well.1 point -
Navarna mantra
Raveena reacted to chetandhiman for a topic
Om = Pranav representing Parmatma Aim = Mahasaraswati Hrim = MahaLakshmi Klim = Maha Kali Chamundaye = Chamunda Devi Vichhe = to untie Meaning when combined- Mahasaraswati(Satwgun) MahaLakshmi(Rajogun) Mahakali(Tamogun) Swaroopa Maa adi shakti Chamunda Devi meri kundlini ki granthi ko khol den (Untie the knot of my Kundlini). This is the most simple interparteation of Navarnmantra and I really hate those who use this mantra in TV serials as a evil or marka mantra.1 point -
