  1. A good mantra to remove bad karma: Thiru Neelakantam. Focus on the throat chakra while saying it. You will feel instant effects. Keep faith, R
  2. Losing weight and with weight loss, we of course mean fat loss; is not an easy thing to do. Especially the stubborn areas (muffin tops, belly area) are the hardest. The best way and also scientifically proven way of losing fat, is through a combination of diet (clean eating on regular timings) and exercise (at least once in 3 days). You have to find out for yourself, which exercise suits you best. Just sign yourself up for a few tryouts or enroll in a gym. A few tips: - Read "Don't lose your mind, lose your weight." By Rujuta Diweka. - Start eating consciously, try not to overeat. - Add weights to your fitness regime (the more muscles you have, the more fat your burn). - Try yoga: yoga gives you overall health benefits and helps you keeping a calm state of mind. - Eat at regular times. You have to keep in mind that there will be some bad days, but don't lose faith. Continue living healthy and you will get the body you dreamt of. Hope this helps. R
  3. As much as possible, to magnify the powers. Thank you so much for this wonderful post btw!!!
  4. Yes, it can be performed by yourself for yourself.
  5. In the Bhagavad Gita, lord Krishna also uses "treachery" to win the war. Why "treachery", because it was harmless and resulted into righteousness. For the specifics, I would recommend you to read the Bhagavad Gita or the Mahabharat. In other words, if the right people selflessly use treachery, with the result being right, it could be overlooked. However, in the recent yuga, the people and the circumstances that can be overlooked are hard to find. So better be safe than sorry. Do not create unnecessary bad karma; be and do good at all times.
  6. I am not very sure whom you're referring to, but I've found some sites that might be helpful: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaitra http://www.drikpanchang.com/festivals/festivals-chaitra-purnimant.html http://www.drikpanchang.com/festivals/festivals-vaishakha-purnimant.html Tuesdays are very good for Hanuman pooja and of course every year during Hanuman Jayanti, all devotees of Lord Hanuman pray for their lord. Hanuman Jaap (om nemo hanumantaya namah) and Hanuman chalisa are very effective to free you from any hurdles or negative energy. Just pray with all your heart and Hanumanji will come to your help for sure. Jai Hanuman! R
  7. Practise the following yoga exercises: Vipariti karni, uttanasana, pachimottonasana, sirsasana, setu bandhasana, balasana and shavasana. Also pranayama: anulom vilom and kapal bhati. Practise yoga and pranayama (30 mins) every morning on an empty stomach for at least 1 hour and your problem will be solved within a month. Stay healthy! R
  8. This sounds more like a neurological problem. The urge to poo or not to, has to do with the nerves. There are a few asana's and pranayama's that may work in this case: kapalbhati, anulom vilom, utkatasan. Also heard some positive things about the medicine Solesta and Kegel exercises. Oil, spicy, junk and fast foods should be avoided. Also stay away from alcohol, tea and coffee. Don't consume too much chocolate and sugars. Keep drinking lots of water! Hope this helps. R
  9. How's your defecation and are you suffering from hemorrhoids? Anyways, shower twice a day and apply coconut oil afterwards, that will do the trick! Also stay away from spices! Good luck and stay healthy! R
  10. Don't let your faith and belief in God die! God never deserts you, it is often the devotee that tends to forget God. Also be very careful with business and family. Om namah shivaye! R
  11. Aum is our God. Aum is nothing else then brAhma vishnU Mahesh. All three are one and govern the entire universe. They have different functions, yet they complete one another. There's a belief that the world started with just the sound of Aum and from this Lord Shiva was created and he end up creating Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma. It is all about belief and blind faith. In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna himself tells us to pray to him in whatever form works for you. "From the Rudras, I am Lord Shiva, of the Yaksas and Raksasas I am Kuvera, of the Vasus I am Agni and of the mountains I am Meru." God is omnipresent. Hinduism counts 100 million Gods, which makes it easier for anyone to pray to whom he/she wants. Children pray to Lord Ganesha, mothers pray to ma Durga and single girls pray to Lord Shiva. My message is: pray to the deity that gives you the best feeling and makes you the strongest. Om namah shivaya R
  12. No man is the same, yet they share similarities. No religion is the exact same, yet their main message are similar. In every religious, you have people that go to extremes and take advantages of the blind faith of others. However, God is peace, God is love, God is happiness, God is truth, God is righteousness. God will never tell you to hate or discriminate. God is aum and I have seen many people all over the world from different religions chanting aum. We believe in the law of Karma. People that mislead others and do wrong, will be punished for sure. Do not create negative karma by talking bad about other religions or encouraging hatred and distance. In the Bhagawad Gita, Lord Krishna himself tells us the 3 paths that lead to hell: greed, lust and anger. Do not engage in any of them. Life itself is sacrifice: live and let live. Try to help as many people as possible. Om namah shivaya R
  13. Protection against nazar: nazar ka tika (black dot), raksha dhagas (can be obtained from mandirs) To remove nazar: burn peppers, do daan (give money to charity), pankhs (peacock feathers) help in removing nazar. This can also be done from a distance or with a picture. These are some practices I know. Best way is to keep faith and believe in the protection of God. Mahamrityunjaya mantra protects against everything. The stronger your belief and faith, the stronger your protection. No nazar or bad thoughts will harm you! Keep faith! R
  14. Hinduism is a very open religion. Our main law is the law of Karma: what you sow, is what you will reap. Watch your actions and start meditating, you will feel enlightened. Meditating, surveying your thoughts, can be very tough at the beginning, however yoga and pranayama can make this much easier. You can watch some videos by baba ram dew on youtube, he preaches both yoga and meditation. Also, I would recommend you to read the following literature: the Bhagawad Gita (our Bible) and Autobiography of a yogi. Both books worked really well for me in the beginning of my spiritual quest. Take care. R
  15. The appearance of a God in your dreams signifies either a caution or a blessing (darshan). In your case, I would say it is more of a blessing, since you were praying and invoking him. Dreams are mostly a projection of what is going on in the subconscious mind, if you have fears, worries etc., you are prone to nightmares. If you keep faith and strong belief in God, nightmares will never scare you. Keep faith! R
