Fanaticism can also cause great crying, I remember the Rajneeshies, the Moonies, the Children of God. They were all great criers. So were the followers of our despicable acquaintences who posed as disciples of Srila Prabhupada, the peace krsnas, the hillbillies, the nazis and others who always had plenty of tears. In fact, a GENUINE devotee affected with GENUINE tears will hide like hell to avoid making a show of such transcendental emotion, just as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhui only exhibited such rasa only in the presence of a very few of his great disciples, such as Swarupa Damodara and Ramananda raya. Srila Prabhupada sometimes slipped into sub-samadhi, and would very quickly correct himself. So, forget the tears. If you have them and they are genuine, pray fervantly to Sri Sri Radha and Krsna to immediately dry your eyes, because tears are a means of great misrepresentation of reality in this chaotic age. Then there is no question of ones guru falling down. Because the teachings of Prabhupada include a warning against one accepting a guru suddenly as an act of fanaticism, not spiritual quest. But gurus who fall down are not genuine, and disciples who are broken-hearted because their "guru" fell down did not have an authentic guru, therefore, "re-initiation is not a valid consideration. According to mahaksa purana, Mahabharata was first, and Ramayana was retold when Janamejaya was wondering about the monkey king mentioned in context of Bhimas adventure. However, outside the mahaksa purana, perhaps a scholar could figure the timeline concerning the appearance of the authors, Sri Valmiki and Srila Vyasadeva. Valmiki recited ramayana to Kusa and Lava, the sons of Lord Rama, while Srimati Sitadevi was living in His asrama (Valmiki"s). This was approximately 800,000 years ago, whereas the adventures of mahabharata took place all during Dvarapa Yuga, which happened between 800,000 and 5,000 years ago. All the heroes were of physical stature indicating they were only from Dvarapa era (between 10 and 18 feet tall). There were a few giants (over 20 feet tall) still alive during Dwarapa Yuga, survivors of Lord Rama's time (Treta Yuga), such as Sri Muchukunda, who considered even the very large (by our present standard) Dwarapa Yuga denizens like pygmies. So, even though the Ramayana was recited to Janamejaya after Mahabharata, it is likely that Ramayana was composed during Treta Yuga, predating all the events desrcibed in mahabharata, other than, of course, the stories of bygone ages told in mahabharata (Shakuntala, Rsnaragna, the activities of the various gods and goddesses, etc.) The events of Ramayana happened during treta, the events of mahabharata during dwarapa. Actually, this audarya fellowship is just that, a fellowship, a place where diverse folks can make FRIENDSHIPS based on the foundation of bhakti yoga. Some of us are so aloof that we have not much opportunity to perform the MAIN devotional practices as described by Srila AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. However, we see listed "Making friends with the Lord" as one of the nine processes, so actually, this platform (audarya) is bhakti yoga, because devotees of the Lord are non-different from him. This is the real value of this site, a place where friendships can be made. Take for instance the friendship between myself and Sri Bhutabhavana dasa (AKA BB, Random axis). Such an unlikely duo. However, politics aside, I have never blinked an eye when I think of Ksatriya dharma in relationship with my friend who may be on the opposite side of the scale of left to right. I have never doubted his sincerity, which is everything to me regardless of whether my 58 years of experiance sets us apart. I cannot do a dang thing about how I feel politically. I was a 15 year old white pre-hippie follower of Malcolm X while he was sitll alive. Some think that the 435,000 years left in Kali Yuga ensures that we have nothing to worry about for now, that the end is not near. But the end of Kali is just a small cycle in itself, considering that many, many Kali Yugas come and go even during a mere day of Lord Brahmas lifetime. Annihilation comes surely and often, even in the best of times. Not just at the end of Yugas, like about 5,000 years ago where real evidence exists in all cultures, from Kuruksetra, Gilgamesh, the great deluge, et al..
