  1. Who wrote a wonderful hymn called "Bhaja Govindam" with the susbtance of Vedanta put into it. He declared that knowledge and devotion are not different from each other. He said every thing is brahman and then he said Krishna is the supreme personality of the Godhead. He wrote Vishnu Sahasranama (The thousand names of Vishnu) and explained that Narayana (krishna) is an all prevading reality that exists not just in this universe but every where. Adi shankaracharya is a very intelligent being. He memorized all of vedas when he was 6 years of age. Then he devoted his life to the supreme. ok... i am spending too time here again... later!
  2. Its annoying that I write so many mistakes! oh well...
  3. I have been in two car accidents, nothing happened to me because I sort of knew krishna is going to protect me. I didn't have a scratch on me! but the other car who hit us in two instances was heavily damaged. The accident occured when the car was going in 65 miles per hour....
  4. Telugu helena is also really cool. /images/graemlins/grin.gif but I prefer the tamil one , pick that one! if you want, I will give you the assamese one, but that is like devanagari script with the different stresses as used in bengali.
  5. Here is Tamil helena for you... I apologize again for my poor penmanship /images/graemlins/crazy.gif Thanks for teaching me how to do this living entity /images/graemlins/smile.gif
  6. Just wait for a mighty blast then you will certainly remember me! -------------------------- Is that supposed to scare me? What is wrong with your people (which also includes you)? Seriously, are you all so delusional that you won't even see the value of human nature? You see thats why you can't convert people to your religion . You give no value to human nature, you have no value to life. You are totally delusional and cannot comprehend anything about science and the world around you. -------------------- by the way, you can't hurt a soul, because a soul is invincible... get a gita and get a life!
  7. that you do not need a guru if you accept chaitanya as your guru and chant and be happy. With chaitanya and krishna and also prabhupada guiding you, you don't need a guru. However, having a guru is a good thing, because he/she can answer your questions in the matters of spirituality.
  8. "Theist you'd be a waste of space oops sorry I mean grave." Brits are always jealous, because we live in wide open spaces when they are all stuck on that little island. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
  9. Once upon a time, there is this forum called "Aidarya Yellowship" (not Audarya-fellowship). Over there, there is this poster called Gheevrindavam. So, one day Gheevrindavamji posted a joke in a forum room called "Nice and clean Jokes" The joke was this "Theres are 3 doggies walking down a street, (maybe they are in a leash, who knows?), when they spot a paper boy. So anyway, they get home and get fed by their master, then one of them falls asleep, while the other two play and guard the house. In the meantime, the master is busy with her washing, and ironing, cleaning (you know the score, who'd be a women?) So, anyway, the dogs finally grow up and then die." In reaction to this unusual post, another user called "Krishna Hare" in Aidarya Yellowship" says "What a sad and boring story!" After this incident they both go by their ways to carry out their "dharmas". They chant Hare krishna every day and they finally die. After death , they go to Goloka Vrindavan and then they see Krishna there! They Go running to krishna! and but he looks sad. Noticing the sad mood on krishna's adorable face, Gheevrindavan asks "what is this kanha!, why are you so sad" Then, Krishna says "Oh! that story was so beautiful! and starts to cry!!! so beautiful!, those three beautiful dogs getting fed so nicely by their master!" Krishna says "But, what about the master? you never said anything about the master! I want to hear the end of the story!" /images/graemlins/mad.gif /images/graemlins/mad.gif "Geez, why do you think I brought you here?!" /images/graemlins/mad.gif Gheevrindavan and Krishna Hare both stare at krishna with a look of amazement on their suble spiritual faces. /images/graemlins/smile.gif This is a nice story isn't it ? /images/graemlins/smile.gif
  10. In reality, such concepts are like the phases of the moon... always changing /images/graemlins/smile.gif Hindus.. Muslims and christians... but do you think these concepts existed forever? No, these are modern concepts created by the society to form a certain unity for the good/bad of the public. The "Christians" came about only 2000 years ago after christ. The Muslims came about only 1400 years ago after Muhammed. And, the term Hindu came about when the Muslims attacked the people living in India. Before Vedic culture, Krishna was still there, before christians God was there and people were worshipping him and also before Muslims God was ofcourse there. So, In my view, talking about the various faiths by differentiating them as Hindus, Muslims and Christians is completely idiotic. Moreover, We can call ourselves Vedic Dharmis or Sanathan Dharmis. Because, the word Sanathan means endless and dharma means duty. We are performing an endless duty which is the adoration of the supreme. However, that would mean every one is sanathan dharmi because every one was adoring and loving the supreme (at some point in their life and some time) . So, the notions such as "I am christian", "We are all hindu" should not be entertained, because they block our goal... which is the love for the supreme.
  11. And it still remains the same. * There is no sin in eating meat, in (drinking) spirituous liquor, and in carnal intercourse, for that is the natural way of created beings, but abstention brings great rewards. This verse does not support meat eating. The first verse you have provided in your previous post (post called wrong)... Is not really contradictory to the verses you have provided in the post above /images/graemlins/smile.gif Even though they appear to be contradictory, they are really not contradicting each other at all but helping each other to prove a point. It is no suprise that vedas are here to free us. Thats their true intention. We have free will to stay in the mire of material existence, or we have the option of getting out of it and try to be free . The vedic verses here just show choice- you can still stay in the material existence and eat meat and be a slave to this world. Or - get the best reward ever by giving up all these things- krishna. then, the other verses you have provided, discourage one from eating the meat . It is a very clever trick to play on the reader.

  15. lets look at a scenario of a Dog and a Sanyasi here, A dog makes an offense by barking at a sanyasi, but Ghari prabhu, would the sanyasi begin barking back at the dog? The dog's dharma is to bark to protect its lord, but sometimes the dog has no intelligence to differentiate between a friend and a thief. That does not mean, the Sanyasi is supposed to get mad at the dog's conduct. The Sanyasi needs to chastise the dog, but being of a humble nature, we give it treats to show that we are in the same team as them (because we really do love lord krishna or God. it is just not done the same way as them). We do not treat every one equally on the bodily platform, because if we begin to do that then the whole universe would be in chaos (Imagine brahma getting no respect!) ------------------------ It is the same thing here, the reason I said that the guest here is a great devotee because I wanted to disarm the poor evangelist and not give him more weapons to falsly fire at the wrong people. It was out of compassion. There are consequences for everyone's actions (that goes for dogs as well). So, In my view, part of human compassion is to take people away from an offensive state to a more friendly and humble state. Thank you, (but I thought you would understand this when I said that) but never mind... no body understands me , I am a little bit wierd for my age /images/graemlins/smile.gif

  17. Still sleeping drinking and eating , yes it is good to be teen.
  18. "Is it not best to refer to scripture when engaging in talks about God and gods. Why say I am a finatic and have eyes yet see not. No one has answered to any of the evidence laid out above. But have only commented on the "tyranny of blind Christians" which all others faiths love to rally around. Who can read the Gospel and say it is of no strenghth? Who can Ponder the Slaughter and ressurrection of Jesus and say there is no profound importance? Answer to this evidence which is above. And tell me exactly what contradicts in the Word of God. Why attack me personally?" ---------------------- Dear guest, I do not mean to attack you personally and I humbly apologize if my writings in this thread have offended you in such a way. Also, I would like to say this, Gospel has great power and so does the ressurection of Jesus christ. Apart from that, I would also like to say that even though you do not realize it yourself (neither does one of the posters I was observing here) is that you are a great devotee of krishna. I say this because, even though you have not reached the platform of unconditionality in your conscience, you are atleast trying to find your krishna in kristianity... Devotion to your "living lord" is what hare krishnas are preaching. So, live happily and know that I do go to a church myself to find Radha and Krishna. But, I do not believe in statements like "Only jesus is the son of God" and "You are going to hell if you do not follow him" I find some statements from christian bible as ridiculous, but I do not think that the bible that is ridiculous. What I mean to say is, the bible should be read as it is by itself and interpreted by a person who is unattached to this world and a well wisher of every one. If a christian monk can rise up to such a level of conscience where he/she sees nothing but Sons/Daughters of God in every single form of life(not just human, but everything) and then interprets the bible with great knowledge on it, Then I would be proud to call my self a Christian. I would also like to say that such is not the case with christianity today. Not all hare krishnas are humble and unconditional, but atleast they try to be unattached and try to show unconditional love in this world. But thats just me and my own thoughts...

  20. My dear guest, The idea of vegetarianism is to not harm any living entity when consuming from nature. Why?= partly because we want to decrease our attachments, and mostly because all living entities belong to krishna and they deserve to live their life. I know how Ghee is made, first the milk is churned and then butter is taken out which is then transformed into ghee through storage or something... Ghee is not extracted from a dead cow nor is it some cow lung or liver or something else. Cow proteins in milk are natural. Cow is not killed to get them and sorry to say this but I sense huge amount of ignorance from you on the issues of how cows' milk is gotten. Cow does not get hurt when you extract milk from it unless you hurt it on purpose... Entonces, la leche de "cow" esta buena para beber!

  22. I sort of forgot.. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
  23. Dude you are giving me images in my head! ug! Can't they just chant! Him and material nature! or how about all these souls being born out of his power or something! I hate my human mind! /images/graemlins/smile.gif
  24. May be this should be the standard set in all forums... Then we can have like secret codes... One guy says "code 10 " attention "code 10" then every one follows code 10. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
  25. He is not God, God is krishna... But he does have the hospitals , he runs them for free, I think he is a nice guy, with some serious deficits. He is also psychic and can make you believe he is God, but really, they are yogic powers which any one can gain through tapasya. In this material world, no one knows what lies next, what is true? what is false? who is right? who is wrong? the truth is always twisted. What one may think of oneself may be perceived differently by the other. I think it is better to just dwell on the simple truth, which is the almighty exists, and every one exists in him, not vice versa. So, it is ignorant to follow such people ... like saibaba in my view.
