Dear SINGH Some texts do mention that retrogression cancels debility, however, I do not find any rule that stays fixed for all charts. A lot depends upon the aspects being recvd, the strengths, dasas, transits, placement of planets from their houses, the moon chart etc etc. There are lot of texts which do not even consider exaltation and debilitation as that merely falls into calculating one aspect of planetary strength. Its strange that for meena lagna, a debilitated jupiter is very powerful and for some lagna even an exalted lagnesh is not good. Astrology is about being open to any planet being good or bad in any ascendant or sign. Though for most common people the basic rules apply. Dear Sandhu ji Traditionally considered as one of the nabhasa yogas when 7 planets occupy 2 signs (excluding chhaya grahas rahu and ketu). The interpretation of an astrologer must zero-in on the specific predictions for the chart as many peoplewould have been born with this yukti. There is definitely bound to be a disbalance of focus in life as all planets concentrate on one house/ one sign. At the same time, the magnitude of that rasi and house increase exponentially. To this extent, one can say, that with sun (highest shadbala) in the lagna conjunct multiple planets, the person is rigidly self-inclined. In the sign of makara, denoting hard work + discipline + lack of emotional display. Barring jupiter (an akaraka) no other planet is combust. The order of planetary strength is sun, moon, mercury, sat, jup, mars, ven. Further, in planetary war, sun+mars+jupiter win. Sat + ketu lose! Saturn also moves into vyaya in the chalit. Dear Sandhu ji, The respect is mutual! Regarding Obama's chart. Yes of course, lagnesh saturn is retro, vargotamma and very strongly aspecting its exaltation sign in the 10th. Also, guru forms a gaja kesari with its apect upon a very benefic moon. The yoga becomes strong in navamsa and fructifies completely during jupiter-moon antardasha! Not only that, Jupiter acts more like the 3rd than the 12th because we all know that the 2nd and 12th houses do not have their own strength. A debilitated third lord Jupiter forms the great parashara exception and becomes an excellent dhana yoga. At the same time, jupiter's samasaptaka with swagrahi shani cancels its debility. Its amazing that he rose to such popularity with a chart where akaraka jupiter debilitates and he is running Jupiter MD. But this is not what our discussion is about. I have a feeling that while Saturn is rigorously directed towards inward turmoil, jupiter gives a consitent length to the same. Jupiter+Saturn yukti is often termed as Brahma yog. It can cause the native to rigorously set after his/her ambition (as mentioned earlier above) - but that can happen only when the 3rd upachaya lord is well placed. There is a whole lot to consider in order to deduce the results of this conjunction. I would like to discuss another chart from the examples you had mentioned above.

Sandhuji, greetings! What are your views on the guru-shani conjunction on this chart? (09 Feb 2001, 1331, delhi) Here, jupiter which is inauspicious for taurus lagna occupies lagna. This can be considered lucky because jupiter in lagna is good, its in a 6-8 with the bad 8th house it lords and most importantly, its in an exchange with exalted lagna lord venus. Saturn, yogkaraka for taurus lagna, is in marana karaka sthana. Traditionally considered bad for the house that saturn owns. However, its 10 aspect upon its own house of career will not mar the native's career in my opinion. So, here, will jupiter fructify the yogkaraka aspect in the native's chart or will the inauspicious Jupiter get afflicted? In any case, dont you think that Jup+Sat in lagna in taurus should be good? Any basic astrologer would ask you to remove emerald. The one who suggested the same would have seen TWO aspects in your chart - 1. Lagna is in Mercury's Nakshatra 2. Mercury in your chart is associated more with the house of income than with the house of death Also, as 8th lord in 12th, Mercury becomes a vipareet raaj yog karaka in the chart. The parivartana between lords of income and expenses may not let you save enough, which is why he might also have recommended emerald. He is right! you have a great chart! Yet, there are issues you'll face constantly on professional front. your 10th house lord moon is in 5th but it is in kemadruma. Its being aspected by Rahu which makes you paranoid off and on. Jupiter aspecting it is a big saviour. On the 10th house, there are aspects of an exalted yogakaraka shani, but also, the 3rd house mars and ketu. sat also aspects mars and ketu. Mars is a great maraka for the chart giving results of 7th house. Afflicted mars and ketu aspects upon a moon-ruled house of career will cause controversies, ill-repute which however cannot really harm your powerful ascendant. ANother point of concern is that 10th lord moon which though in 5th house, is afflicted, it is also sitting in 8th from 10th. There are indications that marriage will be within family or neighbourhood, mostly in the beginning of feb 2009.

Dear ananth, yes its true, rahu-shani is giving problems, also you are facing kantaka shani. You have 4 exalted planets giving you a rajayoga. However, this chart is very strange with all planetary conjunctions between stark enemies. Saturn conjunct sun, mercury with ketu, rahu with moon, jupiter with venus!!! Saturn's exaltation is good in the sense that it cancels sun's debility. But Venus is akaraka in 5th house. Moon and rahu conjunction makes you volatile in temperament and takes the balance away from emotional intelligence. Mars is exalted and vargottama - its yogakaraka too. You will be flying abroad after saturn's transit into virgo. Overall, there is a lot of success in career in store. For remaining happy mentally/emotionally you may worship Lord Shiva regularly. I do agree that many jewellers tend to cheat and also, lot of treatments done to the stones improve their appearance, though they may not necessarily be of good quality. In Delhi, I got my emerald certified by gemology institute.

no, its my problem. I have a mental block with it. I should fill up my knowledge bank on this actually. The problem is Rahu acts like shani and is shadowy. It will rebound the effects which come on it even upon aspects of other grahas. Now suppose in transits, planets affecting rahu in your horoscope are in a 6-8 relationship with their birth positions, gomedh will magnify the severity. So basically gomedh has to be put on and removed periodically. Hence my hesitation
