With some good help we have discovered that it is difficult to get a license in France bcs he needs to study French about 3 years and then he needs to study as a doctor there at the university and pass exams and it will take more than 6 years total or even more. As for quite the abbreviated "cliffnotes" version of a background: I started out as a harē kr̥ṣṇa in high school and, ironically, much much later after practicing Ashtanga and Vinyasa-style yoga for eight-and-half years, had not made any sort of connection with my Hindu past until recently after my former partner and best friend died of renal cell carcinoma. It's wonderful to be here and to have rediscovered this beautiful and rich tradition!

I just joined this forum yesterday day/ I have few questions about What happens after death? I have finished reading the Great Bhavat Gita about a month ago. It is quite interesting to read the Gita and felt like everyone should read it and try to understand the teachings of Lord Krishna. Since I know Sanskrit from my childhood, I was able to read both Tamil and Sanskrit versions. I am now coming to my question to learned audiences. One (like me) did not practice the Gayatri Mantra though it was taught to me in my childhood, which I felt at my old age, can I get the Nama Japam from a Guruji and practice it sincerely be able to attain my wishes? Since I missed this great opportunity, I am willing to have a rebirth as very sacred soul like Adi Sankara or St Thiagaraja Swamigal and live like a Sanyasi or Siddha Purusha and learn the Vedas, Upanishads, puranas and slogas etc so that I become deserved soul to reach the Lotus Feet of Lord Krishna. Is this a possible wish come true.I need to seek the blessings of learned Guruji. It may look funny to some, but it is my true wish. Thanks for all those who read this post and responses and guidances.

I am not throwing around the advanced expert names for the Gods, Worship and other aspects of working and I work with all of the aspects of the Hindu Dharma even sikhsism without being one but just exploring all of them in balance and without dividing as a true Mystic and what is mysticism is everything that leads toward the inner and outer cleansing and this process goes on eternally and is not going to be finished after a couple of some achievements. I am here not to spam but to share with all of you the experiences and discuss over all aspects of our path and everyday existence, I would like to send my sincere words of Loyalty and Love to the Adepts of the Hindu Dharma path as I will continue my progress naturally and without having any so called temples as this is not my aims, I am not a follower neither but I am loving the Hindu Faith truly and faithfully without making other traditions of Hindu Dharma less important and I work with all of them in balance, thank you for spending time and reading the message I left here with the best wishes for all of you on the path of Hindu Dharma. I have always been fascinated and intrigued by the drawings one finds on streets and pavements, even in homes . Some with graphic designs, geometric patterns, stars, flowers, triangles etc. They are done with chalk, paint, powder and whatever . They are commonly seen at high holidays like at Taipusam or Timithee. Is there a name for this "street art"? Are there particular designs used for particular reasons. Ive seen fresh flowers offered on top of the drawings. Is there a book I could read to learn more about this? Appreciate any information supplied .

In the present age of Kali yuga mantra japa is the yuga dharma, or main process for self realization. It is simple, requires no background qualification, and can be done anywhere at any time. Sit down in a peaceful place and silently chant your mantra. In the beginning start for 10 minutes, and gradually increase. The mind will become fixed and peaceful usually after 30 minutes, and then the more fruitful sadhana will start. Other options for sadhana are puja (worshipping a deity of God), meditation (dhyanam), svadhyaya (self study of scriptures), etc.

People are now speculating some tantric spell possibility. I would like to give a small background of how the spell on a person works and who all will become victims. First and foremost, a person who's chart is strong and the planets are in good position can never become a victim of a tantric spell. So a nadi reader cannot just like that create problems in a person's life. They are not the cosmic dispositioners to cast a spell in a person. Tantric spell affects like anyother bad things and it happens only under the particular bad Dasa-- Bhukthi period per the native's chart. Tantric spell effects are cirumstancial, temporary and another form of our own karma. So first, please remove the fear, a nadi reader cannot create your bad karma. We reap what we sow, nothing else. If your purva punya sthana is good, I bet, you meet N number of nadi readers, even Calcutta tantrics or black magicians, you CAN NEVER be affected by a tantric spell. Even when your planetery positions are not good, tantric spell effects can easily be overcome. It requires just one thing confidence and strength. Confidence in the Divine, strenght in your mind, courage and bravery. With the unyielding faith in the Divine (your personal God ), you can walk in the graveyard at midnight without fear. Faith and devotion are a protecive shield against all accidents, fears, threatenings, black magic etc etc. When your consciousness is elevated and you have noble thoughts and if you are connected to Divine by devotion and faith, then even if planets are not favourable, the tantric cast will bounce upon the one who spelled it. If they spelled death, it is they who will meet with death. The spell is nothing but a evil vibration, accummulation of passion,ego & lust, it is absence of light, it is darkness, it is not an existing entity, it is an illusion. So when knowledge comes, illusion goes away, anything that is absent is not a power, you fill it with presence and defeat it. Hence next time, you visit a nadi reader, he tells you to go to this temple or that temple and do this parihara, challenge him with folded hands,humbleness yet confidence -- "I can overcome whatever evil you have mentioned and get all I aspire for in this life, by a sincere surrender to the Divine who is present everywhere, even in the nearby temple to your centre". You go to nadi for a research and thrill, to study their psychology and infact to find out atleast one genuine nadi reader, thats it. Nothing more than that. They definitely cannot help or harm you. It is in our hands to better our situation. You bow down your head only infront of the Divine to nonone else, if somebody discourage by saying that you are a sinner, deny that vehemently by saying that "I might have been a sinner, but not now, I have started a new life with faith in the divine". Your planets may be afflicted, debilated or in wrong aspects -- you can overcome all these effects by faith and devotion. Hence if at all, you want to appeal anything to Nava Grahas, you ask just one thing -- a faith and devotion in the mind -- unyielding faith, strength of mind, devotion and surrender to the Divine. I have seen certain people's chart -- their Lagna is strong and good, aspected by beneficial planets -- this combination alone gives them the above mentioned positive attitude and inspite of all other negative aspects in the chart, they come out with flying colours. So whatever may be the planetary position in your chart, you can achieve what you want in this life, if you have the help and intervention of the Divine. It is always there my dear friends, so please call upon it. Your past karma will definitely try to hold you back, all the evil vibrations you did for others in enormous births will definitely try to hold you back, but if you fix your mind,thoughts and soul to the Divine, gradually, you will enter the Light and Source Energy. Once you elevate yourself to that level of consciousness, those evil vibrations and reactions of karma cannot enter that region. You will be under the protective shield of the Divine, when the Divine decides to interven, no force in this world can stop it from acting. It requires only one thing from your part -- absolute and unconditional surrender to the Divine. Who is Divine? It is the supramental highest conscious energy that is the source of all this creation. If you dont have a personal God where upon, you can that Divine,where upon you can focus your thoughts and surrender, no problem -- pray like this " Thy supreme will, who manages the Universe, let He protect me, by the supreme Will of Whom the sun shines,the plants grow, the river flows, let He protect me, by the supreme Will of whom I speak now, let that Force hear my aspiration, by the virtue of the Divine, the child earnestly call upon the Supreme Father." So only two things are required when it comes to peaceful and prosperous life -- unconditional surrender,faith to the Divine second and important, you have started to focus and surredner to the highest truth, so when you get answered with prosperity, manhood, beauty, fame, riches, health, children, vehicle, bungalows etc etc. please use them in the service of the Divine. Help the needy with your riches and fame. If you get influence and power as the answer, please use it in the service of the Divine. The Divine wants to act through you, to accomplish certain things in the universe. Hence please allow that flow. Dont arrest that flow by living in a small circle. That is the reason we are suffering now. I ask for riches and I get it. Then I stay within my boundary of family and friends, and use the riches lavishly without a definitve purpose. Slowly it turns into lust and when lust comes, evil or darkness forms around me and I have already started arresting the flow of the Divine. Then slowly you will start feeling tiredness, stress, depression, jealousy and anger because all these are indications that darkness(evil) has formed around you. So dont let that happen, when your aspirations are answered, it means Divine wants to act through you, so you please let it act. You want a beautiful wife and sex life, no problem, aspire for it, you will get a noble woman, you will feel satisfied and happy, you will beget good children, but engage your wife and children in the service of the Divine. So one multiplies into many, in this case, you were good, so your wife and children are becoming good. So the medium of the Divine multiplies by your initial wish -- sexual energy. But in the contrary, when you become lustful and greedy, passionate and restless, you starts covering yourself with darkenss and you tend to misuse your energy with so many illegal ways, and all misery follows. So from next episode, I will write on where to start and begin with, on this process of surrender and devotion -- I will show the method which I follow with Lord Maha Vishnu the all existing primeval Govindha.

I would ask you to seek the blessings of Sri Sri Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swamiji of Mysore Datta Peetham. I know for a fact that he performs miracles. Prayers to Lord Datta will help greatly. Also, pray to Sri Prathyangira Devi at Aiyvarpadi in Kumbhakonam Dist. She is a powerful deity, propitiated especially for removing the ill effects of black magic.

There are some books I would recommend reading to get a better idea of Hinduism. The Concept of Rudra Shiva throug the Ages by Mahadev Chakravarti Religious Doctrines in the Mahabharata by Nichols Sutton A History of Indian Literature, Vol. 1 by Moriz Winternitz The Triumph of the Goddess by C. Mackenzie Brown Devi Mahatmya by Thomas Coburn Hindu Goddesses by David Kinsley All of these books are available for sale on Google. The Triumph of the Goddess should be available for sale but some books published by SUNY have been taken off of the Play store but this has been in error. However, it has been a pretty long while and Google has not put them back up for sale yet so I don't know when they will, but I was told by SUNY that this was an error. Studying Hinduism academically will give you a deeper understanding of the religion and these books mentioned above are not that abstract. Also, as someone else mentioned, the use of mind altering substances has been done in ancient cultures and Shamans still do it. You can look up Bhang on Google. Soma used to be used in India but no longer. You can also look up the Ambrosia Society.

Are you aware of the Akashic records? There is the concept that there is a unified field of memories of everyone and everything and that this is what people tap into when they retrieve memories of past lives. However this field is also accessible by anyone and I do think that sometimes we tap into this field when we sleep. Not always but sometimes. I have found in my research that a lot of people have dream of certain places they always seem to visit in dreams almost as if these are real places. I also know a lot of people will seem to be meeting the same people in their dreams even though they have never met them-but they seem so real. I believe this is because they have tapped into the field I alluded to and indeed these places are real and exist. Your dream could be this-but as I say not all dreams are tapping into this field-and only experienced meditators are able to do this with controlled precision-and so they are able to recognise when their dreams are just dreams and when dreams are the drawing of memories from the universal memory field. It is possible to come to some form of understanding about your dream but it would involve a deeper analysis of yourself and your current life. Hope that explains a little!

None of them are connected to BAPS. If they were, there would have been police action and press coverage. The BAPS temple in Sarangpur is a haven for spiritual advancement. If you have been there, you would agree. "Don't kid yourselves. BAPS has plenty of corrupt saints as is so obvious in Neasden Temple." Again, you're proposing claims without any substantiation. What is wrong with the monks at the Nesden temple? BAPS monks have NEVER been involved in scandals. Give some concrete examples from a reliable source, and then I will believe you. "If Pramukh Narayanswarupdas was such a mighty saint why does He insist on being worshipped everywhere?" Once again, claims without substantiation. Give me a quote, a recording, or ANYTHING that shows why you believe this. Pramukh Swamiji has NOT EVEN ONCE insisted on being worshipped. It is his disciples who honor him because he is our spiritual Guru who leads us from darkness and ignorance to light and knowledge. He has NEVER insisted on being worshipped. He also never insisted on sitting on thrones or luxurious items. Rather, it is the wish of his disciples to provide him with those things out of our love for him. Remember, Pramukh Swamiji has been the Guru of the Swaminarayan faith for well over 40 years. In the 1960s, there were no such amenities yet he continued his mission of spreading the Vaishnava philosophy and the message of Swaminarayan just as much as he is doing now at the age of 85. "Ekantik Sadhu would never EVER desire such things." This is the first time I agree with you. An Ekantik Sadhu would never desire such things. But have you ever seen DESIRE in the eyes of Pramukh Swami? Have you ever heard him demand certain things? A devotee once baked him sweets to eat when Pramukh Swami visited his house. However, he accidently put salt instead of sugar! How awful would a sweet item taste if it was made from salt instead of sugar?! But Pramukh Swami never said a word and lovingly accepted the food. Does this show that he demands high luxuries? It shows his detachment from materialistic pleasure. This was in the 1950s when food was scarce and the monks often had to beg for food (and fast when they received none). I appreciate your concern for finding a true Guru. One should always be careful before accepting someone as your Guru, and you are doing just that. However, it's very important that you properly investigate before you make claims that degrade a great sadhu and saint such as Pramukh Swami. Read his biographies, and you will see. I don't understand how the organisation BAPS is a 'break away' from what Svaminarayana originally set up. In his Vachanamritam, he continually stresses the importance of the Ekantik Sadhu and how a true guru is the gateway to moksa. The "original" Svaminarayana organisations have plunged into mediocrity. The "sadhus" do not follow the eight-fold path of celibacy and the Acharyas have been brought to court on several legal issues. The previous Acharya was dethroned and a new Acharya established. Sadhus are being accused of rape, incest, and embezzlements. Is this what Svaminarayana originally set up? On the other hand, Pramukh Swamiji is a spotless sadhu who has uplifted many societies around India and who has preached non-violence and built beautiful mandirs across the world. He has led thousands to quit cigarette-smoking and drinking alcohol, as well as gotten several other thousands to reconnect with the Hindu heritage and study the scriptures. How can you say that this is NOT what Svaminarayana intended? Look at what BAPS has accomplished -- magnificent mandirs around the world, a beautiful Akshardhama temple in New Delhi, social service work like natural disaster relief and free hot meals for the poor. He has upheld the Vaishnav and Visistadvaita philosophy. Please explain to me why BAPS is a "break-away" from what Svaminarayana taught. Disciples and sadhus of Pramukh Swamiji are very humble and peaceful people. They practice what Svaminarayana taught by studying the Vachanamritam and the Hindu scriptures. BAPS does not get in trouble with the law and have sadhus involved in scandals.
