  1. while reading this post, I was just hit by a reality... The idiotic notions of various religions and their contradictions cost innocent lives. I do agree that this is due to Islam... because in Islam women are virtually property of men. They are treated not as humans but as some things... It is so disgusting. And the wife burning in India is due to Hinduism, due to the very fact that in hinduism there emerged notions of dowry and castes etc. which led to things like wife burning and all those other crazinesses. To come to think of it, every religion has a contradiction, it is as if they are trying to ruin lives in the name of a supreme being. For example, the burning at the stake of witches in middle ages by christians. Such cruelty has come up due to the inaccurate understanding of the scriptures and the recreation of delusions that were supposed to be destroyed after the thorough understanding of life. I am going to click the post button now, i dont' feel so good after reading such horrible news.
  2. When you say men do you mean humans or "males"
  3. we believe that we can take millions of births and have millions of deaths . Why are you saying its only 7 births and deaths?
  4. Well, i read books like Origin of species and everything, but what is the theory of evolution of species in the Indian philosophy? I mean , In christianity there is creationism, which has been proven to be true and false in some respects with the origin of species. However, we never talk about the indian philosophy of existence and the gaudiya vaishnava philosophy of existence. Please shed some light on this issue , some one.
  5. I always thought Karma was synonymous to attachment. The attachment to a certain notion or precept leads us to act in a conditioned way, thus leaving us in the bondage of working for something and trying to enjoy it. However, we never realize that we are never the enjoyers in the first place. Even though the desire seems to be the one that will give us pleasure, it is just deceiving us by making us think that with out "fullfilling" our "desire", we are not complete. This type of conditioned state is basic karma cycle , I think (well, thats what I read). If we act selflessly by no attachment to the action or desire itself, this notion of karma disappears just like a dream becomes unreal after one wakes up from sleep. /images/graemlins/smile.gif In reality Krishna enjoys us all, we don't enjoy anything, however, we do enjoy indirectly by making Krishna enjoy, because our real satisfaction comes from the enjoyment of krishna. Well i do it in a certain way: I try to renounce my anger , delusion, ego, frustration, notion of discrimination... (even though i fail half of the time, I am making progress) I am trying to attain : Humility, equanmity, a sense of helping nature and i am trying to work in community service programs to help people and stuff. Its not much for a 17 yr old, but its okay, I will do more in the future.
  6. I really don't get this one sorry /images/graemlins/smile.gif
  7. You know it does not necessarily have to be the tiger woods guy ... I mean, it could be you if you decide to live your life in such a way that other people take it as an example. duh!.
  8. Unlike christianity or Islam or some other religion. Hinduism tends to have god looked at any way we want! thats like so cooL!
  9. SO you are saying that radha is not a seperate entity from krishna and the rest are not seperate from krishhna either? That makes sense... i guess. Then that would mean that the whole vraja lila is just a notion... a notion created by the illusory effect of krishna. then that would mean that we are part of such a play because we are also not apart from krishna... Then wouldn't that just make the whole notion of "trying to go to vraja a hoax due to the fact that vraja is there as it was and we are also taking part but the material world does not let us see what truly is? If i am wrong now then please tell me that.. and if you think that my heart is eligible to hear about such a sweetest way of looking at krishna please do so...
  10. How can krishna not care about every one? He is krishna, you have got to be kidding when you say because Radha is an expansion of krishna, he cares more for her... I always thought Krishna cares for Radha because she has so much love that she attracts krishna more than the other gopis. No where in bhagavatham does it say "Radha is a Goddess". And if she is a goddess then it turns the whole fact of "supreme personality of the godhead" into a false notion. You see, thats what I think is the truth, please if i am wrong correct me, because the Madhurya rasa seems to be a very attractive rasa.
  11. Yeah i was wrong and we need to get these guys to stop making religion look so bad. The atheism and barbarian thinking is going to the new generation: Almost all the adolescents today tend to "hate religion" saying it is like "believing in santa clause" and they admire people like m&m which sometimes is rude and obscene...
  12. Forgive my ignorance, but you never answered where jivas come into this lila of krishna. There is no indication to that at all. And this bugs me, first of all we say all Krishna cares is for Radha and then we say Krishna is all omniscient god who cares for everyone. Kindly shed some light on this issue... and please use simple language for simple folk like me /images/graemlins/smile.gif
  13. Dear guest, I am not saying we need not eradicate islam because some are my friends, however i am saying we need not eradicate islam (period!) ".". In reality, the biggest problems in Islam are the biases such as , No respect for WOMEN, Restraint of Many Unalienable human rights that one possess inherently by his very own nature. What we need to do is try to see the truth and take out these Biased and ignorant precepts against women, hate for other religions etc. And Put in precepts of Non violence, Selfless actions so that they raise to a higher level of consciousness... if not, then atleast try to make islam like Christianity which talks about love and intolerance of other religions peacefully... even if many christians don't agree with Hindus they try to convert and change people peacefully , atleast we should try to make them into people like that. I want such a change to occur because I am SELFISH , I would like every one of my fellow souls to reach bliss and a constant union with the lord and love of my heart(Krishna). I am selfish due to the very fact that I want every one serve my Krishna one way or the other peacefully. WHether One calls my love *krishna as allah or "God" or Jevohah or "Pure bliss and brahman" and worships him with love and peace then there is no problem. It is sad really, people get fanatic about their religion and never see the truth and beauty that lies in this world.. which is filled with the presence of Godhead every where, krishna is everywhere, even in my . books... better start reading /images/graemlins/smile.gif I didn't start reading them Oh my god!!! /images/graemlins/smile.gif.

  15. The people of Iraq are brainwashed into the notion of Islamic fundamentalism that the very truth is veiled from their eyes. A true democratic government is the one that accepts the will of the people and that is correct, However, when the people themselves are brain washed into the notion of a radical government it is the duty of American Conquerors to stop such an idea from becoming into reality. You see, this is what we did in Germany, The dictator hitler had every one brainwashed into Nazism that it had a promising future in the government even after the end of his reign. Such a thing was stopped by forcing new bureaucratic and peaceful ideas into the government and banning ideas of Nazism and slavery of the other races from the government. Today, if we let the people choose a theocratic government to be put in place then the new leader is going to have the power both "Politically" and "Religiously" thus influencing the illiterate as well as literate people in Iraq. The person would get so much power that he will start to abuse it and it will cause another dictatorship which takes a monsterous turn again in history just like the regime of saddam. The new theocratic leader of Iraq can be compared to Stalin of USSR or Pharoah of Ancient Egypt. /images/graemlins/frown.gif If we stop the Islamic Fundamentalists from taking over and basically eradicate them forcefully! from the country , then and only then will there be a promise of peace. /images/graemlins/ooo.gif /images/graemlins/frown.gif It is so sad but it is true, there is more violence yet to come and I pity the fallen people there. /images/graemlins/mad.gif /images/graemlins/frown.gif
  16. I recently found that site online, it is so cool all the songs there are free and we don't even have to download them!
  17. I mean, Gandhi may be a true politician who is a saint or a Fake, but the figure that Gandhi established is truly something we can commend because his figure gave his future generations the gifts of non violence, tolerance and understanding of various people... In my view he is the true "Vaisnav Jana" like in the song Vaishnav Jana to .... Its meaning is that "A true man of God helps others and develops his society and takes it to a higher consciousness and I think the figure of Gandhi has made this happen in millions of hearts.
  18. Once upon a time a guy named srinivas was late to his work... so, he got on his bicycle and hurried to his work and on the way he got hit by a car!, but nothing happened to him! then , he started to think of himself as invincible, he thought - "Hey! Nothing can happen to me, I am so strong that even a car thats going at a high speed couldn't do a thing to me" Later that day, He was taking his dog for an evening walk, then he accidentally stepped on a banana peel... he fell and broke his spine. The end... sad story isn't it? /images/graemlins/ooo.gif
  19. well you see, religion should be the set of beliefs that are harmonious with the human nature and with the society today... We say that Islam is bad because of its intolerable nature against the "Non Muslims", if we try to change that and try to destroy the Sexism in Islam then it matches christianity, thus enabling people to breath free while following that certain religion. Modern muslims are aware of that i guess, i mean I have alot of muslim friends and they don't act so crazy about their religion. I think they are not sexists either and some are even feminists /images/graemlins/smile.gif But their parents are totally different , one of my friends is going to get married at age 20 and they are going to send her back to turkey with her husband... and she has no say in it. So, the new generation in modern western nations is okay i guess.

  22. This is my opinion and not a fact, but i think the pronounciation is an inherent difference in south and north indians due to the evolution of their specific dialect. For example, Take an individual from telugu background like me, in telugu we stress on the last syllables alot and also the first syllable of the words that start right after the last syllable. So, the word "Potthunnamu" going would be "goingg" gg for stressed. and if they have to say "going to the mall" the southerner from india would say "goingg tto the malll?" However, it is quite different with a northerner, for example if you take hindi as an instance you would not stress at the syllables in the words as much . Such as, "Kya karna hai ya ha yaar.."- "what shall be done here man" the stressing is quite different where you stress on the first syllable slightly and there is almost so stress in the last syllable of a word... thus we can say that the difference lies in the very evolution of the dialects in the beautiful land of india /images/graemlins/smile.gif I could be wrong, because i don't speak telugu( supposed to be my native language) or hindi any more because I went to a western country and became so involved in materialistic life that it disgusted me and then i became dispassionate but it did leave me by making me an ABCD... "American Bred Confused Desi". So forgive me if i am wrong... /images/graemlins/crazy.gif
  23. LOL!!!!! /images/graemlins/grin.gif
