  1. << Maadhav, arnt you an engineer, you are contradicting your beliefs with your ocupation ? >> i am what i am, but with no contradiction. << Why did you chose the path of science? >> how you know it is true? "even the scientists are not able to prove everything to all the existing people. There are people who do not believe man went to moon." << - People can choose to believe or not but the proof is always there, and the truth is there aswell. >> the same can be said about the existance of god. some just dont get it, and the vedic people have no interest to convince it to those who do not want to believe it. "a man cannot understand beyond his limit." << - If you were to take a 1 hour video of todays science and technology back to a man living 2000 years ago. Would he understand whats going onn. So basically man is always becomming smarter and smarter. >> what i see is he is getting adharmi. english language is not better than sanskrit, but still no one shows interest to pick sanskrit and cutdown english. what is smart about it? the rest of the people get stuck with english. << Do you know that today we have twice as information in our head than our grand parents did at their age ? >> even a ass caries a lot load for nothing. << Why do you think man evolved over the years and the rest of the animals are still pretty much same, they havnt got any smarter. >> it it is true, then it is because of god's will. << I use the teachings of our religion to follow the right path, But in todays world when you look at the atrocities happening everywhere your beliefs in the existence of God fades away. >> not mine or many others'. "dharma is for practicing than for proving to others. those who have practiced dharma, millons of them, say have benefited from it. that validates its usefulness. still one is free to not live by dharma." << - Everybody benifits by practicing dharma, But the existense of God is created there for people to follow dharma, otherwise some may choose not to follow. But you dont need to believe in God to practice Dharma. >> dharmas tu sAkshAt bhagavat praNitam. just as some practice hinduism/yoga without giving credit to hindus or hinduism, some can practice dharma (if they know ir right) without giving credit to God. some practice 'religion' which is nothing but adharma.
  2. is it wrong/sinful for a girl to marry a guy younger to her in age ,both being SHRI KRSNA devotees now? No. it is just a vedic tradition. do our shastras call it a sin? No. will our merciful LORD SHRI KRSNA reject the girl and the boy entry in HIS kingdom inspite of their total dedication of their marriage to THE SUPREME LORD??? No, no, no. and what if they both had a physical relationship before they became KRSNA devotees and before their marriage, not knowing it is a great sin? he forgives, if you love him and try to do as he says. that however does not mean it is okay to hve sex before marriage. one must avoid it, know early that it is not good. will they have to marry someother persons having each other in mind? no. is that not a sin? not sin, but such a marriage cannot be a happy marriage. the girl has lost her chastity to him(not under force, but with equal love for him). now, after realising what great sin they committed, they became devotees of THE LORD,they are unable to accept any other. krishna is patita pavana. they just underwent gandharva marriage. such things did happen in the vedic times, but it was not a common social trend. pl kindly advise. let them get married happily and keep in mind thak krishna loves them, and his devotees also will love them. what is sin secretly doing sex /love with a non spouse. they r waiting for SUPREME BLESSINGS! they will get it.
  3. science will never find all the truths. that is why there is religion. no one can figure god totally. even the scientists are not able to prove everything to all the existing people. There are people who do not believe man went to moon. dharma is a matter of faith. science is a subject of man's limited senses only. man's intelligence is also limited. a man cannot understand beyond his limit. dharma is for practicing than for proving to others. those who have practiced dharma, millons of them, say have benefited from it. that validates its usefulness. still one is free to not live by dharma.
  4. it was a comparison between a man and a computer. 1 to 1 comparison. a computer model can mimic a whole business or manufacturing process of a company. while a company is alive, a computer is just material, but with power it works and does specific things. a company or a person also does some things according to the programming of his brain, and his own desires. a computer cannot have its own desires.
  5. e.. ram ram bhai. true. the analogy could not be perfect. just as a coumputer could not have "life" without power (battery), a body could not have life without soul. you know it. we and many do say "battery is dead" when it does not give power.
  6. actually everything is created by god. man can only re-arrange things. so, everything has some, even a bit, similarity with god. but god can create things that are not similar to him. the question open is what you mean by similarity, in what aspect? living beings have a soul in each of them. and soul is eternal just god is eternal. but no soul is as much powerful as god is. that is why god is called supersoul in vedic literature. every material also is eternal in essence. you cannot create or destroy gold, copper, silver, etc. god created them all. you (any living being) can mix them as you please, per your ability. xian usually say that god created man in his image. and you are saying, it seems, man crated computer in his image. so now whatever computer creates, is the image of computer. such argument cannot lead to any useful conclusion. god alwasy is. we (living beings) always are as the souls. materials (fundamental elements) always are. energy can be transformed into material, amd material into energy, but nether material nor energy can be created. only the living beings manipulate material and energy. a material cannot do anything to any one. a stone stays where it is (unless moved by another force). it has no desire. it has no pleasure or pain. action is a sign of a existance of living being. intelligence is a sign of the existance of living being. some things just don't happen by chance. for example, take 3-4 BBs, and throw them on a table. the chance that all of them will fall in straight line is practically zero. you may try several billion times, and it would not happen. but god can make it happen in the first throw. straignt line is an ordered phenomenon. it requires a conscious being to make it happen. that is the way to see the presence of god. i went in tangent, but hope it helps others.
  7. Urdhva mUlam adhah shAkham asvatta prAhura vyama... The material world is a reflection of spiritual world. A man cam be compard with a computer like this: man's body is like computr hardware. man's jiva/soul is like battery or electrical power man's brain is like computer memory man's kenwledge, beliefs, experiences remembered is like computer software. just as software virus can ruin a computer's functions or other systems' functions, a wrong belief in man's head/heart can ruin man's functions or other's functions. just as a doctor can fix the body, a technicial can fix a computer. just as a software analyst can fix computer virus, a good guru can fix man's wrong belifs. i welcome other devotees to post such comparisons for the benefit of others.
  8. << people shouldnt judge based on the actions of idiots. >> i suppose you mean to say "people shouldnt judge a religion based on the actions of idiots who malpractice it." every religion, including hinduism, have people who do not know what their own religion really is, and they malpractice their own religion. so, i have said many times here that hinduism is what is in gita. now, even though the hindus have malprcticed hinduism, they have not invaded other coutnries, not destroyed any mosque or church, not destroyed any other culture, or never have forcibly converted any. in contrast, islam has invaded india over and over, for centuries, and slaightered hindus, destroyed tempels, raped and looted, and even rule over hindus. if you ask them why they did and sill do it, they will say that it is in koran. so, to us the victims of islam for centuries, islam is what it has done to us. no mulla of the muslim world was able and is able to teach the muslims any better message from koran than what the wahabis and ladin and party are doing. still, are you saying that you have a correct and better peaceful tolerant interpretation of koran to the victims of islam? did you ever try to convince it to ladin and party? if you did, did you succeed? if not, why are you telling it to the victims of islam? why are you preaching the chickens who are being killed by the foxes that the foxes do not know thier religion (and you know it)? if you are a hindu, and can understand what i am saying, you would give up preaching the victims that wahabis are misinterpretating koran. they are not. they are committed to live by koran as it is. we suffered and still are suffering because may of us hindus are not living per gita. in contrast many hindus do not know krishna's message correctly, and are thining that ahimsa is an absolute principle in hinduism. it is not. a muslim has freedom to think and act per koran - convert, even by force or kill (it does not matter if it is illegal in a gov.) but at the same time, we hindus have the freedom to respond with might in such a way that no one will ever dare to practice islam on the vedic land. a posture/proposition like "your religion says to kill or convert me by force and i respect it(!?)," and so you do it. my religion says that i cannot hurt you. so i do not mind getting killed or converted by you" is not hinduism. this is worse than cowardice and total ignorance of dharma. note that we never have problem islam being practiced in the desert of arabia where it grew. our vedic land is not for islam. they on the other hand have serious heartburn when we hindus practice hinduism in our own homeland. still you like islam? like to be killed or converted by them? want a some hindu tempes destroyed in india? like to hear the shouts of "allah o kabar? that is the sound used (and stil use) each time they slaughtered kafirs including us hindus.
  9. control food, thoughts, words, and acts. control what you see, read, touch, and hear. practice taking cold bath.
  10. since a few centuried no hindu does violent sacrifice. so the concern is not a concern any more.
  11. chanting has to be done with understanding of the meaning of each word and message, with faith, love and concentrated mind. millions have benefited by it., and millions will.
  12. your post is very good. thanks. << What You are I Once Was, What I am, Soon You Will Become. >> could you please tell how you could say as above, without letting the world know what you are?
  13. yes, i agree. a larger dharmic mission producing income and charity and supporting cows as well.
  14. no. that confusion has arisen from teh similarity of words gandharva and gaandhaar. like apsaras, gandharva do not live here, but they do visit occasionally. duryodhan was caught prisonr by a gandharva. the vedic singers and artists within us usually identify themselves as gandharvas, but no hindu woman would identify herself as an apsaraa.
  15. a hindu, including a vaishnav prayst o his/her ista deva (god): tvam eva maataa cha pitaa tvam eva tvam eva bandhus cha sakhaa tvam eva tvam eve vidyaa draviNam tvam eva tvam eva sarvam mama deva deva he prays to guru like this: guru brahmaa guru vishnu guru devo maheshwara guru saakshaat para brahma tasmai sri gurave namah all hindus love and care parents and guru.
  16. If you could give full postal address of the goshala, then some could send checks there. If the goshala has an e-mail address, then some could send money by paypal. In genereal, Goshalas need to become self sufficeint by selling milk products and offering other religious services to community, selling bulls to farmers, etc. Of course some donations may be needed. The community needs to be generous in giving price for the products.
  17. The beautiful girls who sing and dance in the court of Indra dev are apasras. They do not live with us on this earth, and the vedic people respect them for they are the entertainers of the devas. Sometimes some come to this earth for a small mission, like testing a brahmachari (how strong and committed he is). To the Vedic people they are like mothers.
  18. << no matter what religion you join, you are always following 'the path of the hindu'. >> not true. we do not do jihad, do not convert by force, do not eat cows, consider the earth as our mother, ganga, yamuna, etc. rivers and kailash etc. mountains are holy for us. we do not kill other cultures. we do not bury dead bodies but creamte. we do not say there is no soul in animals. we know re-inarnation and the concept of karma, etc. these all is unique to hinduism.
  19. all capitals is not easy to read. << EVERY THING HE THINKS AND ACTS IS WITHOUT OBSESSION. FROM THE FLOCK OF COWHERDS HE BECAME THE ALL POWERFUL MONARCH OF A GOLDEN EMPIRE AND THE EASE WITH WICH HE DID ALL. >> He (Krishna) was God Himself who came to earth. He was not an ordinary cowboy human who became a king by following Gita. He aleady was the creator God.
  20. or leave by the pippal tree, or cottenwood tree which is a cousin of pippal.

  22. if you can post here, you can communicate/learn here.
  23. yse. However, still there will be people who would want to worship devas and devis, just as there are people who whuld serve majors and governors and not the president. Our Krishna is not jealous of deva worshipers. He even strenghtens their faiths indeva worship. No deva hates krishna either. Per gita it may not be smat to worship devas, but neither is it a sin. it is better than no worship except one's own senses. The wold will always will have deva worshipers. They are not enemies of vaishnavas.
  24. True. However, it is hard to know if the shoes are made using a slaughtered cow or non slaughtered cow. Therefore, a dharma conscious person would choose shows and othe things made from man-made material. sadhus traditionally wear woooden shoes - chAkhadis.
