  1. Offensive all the way; this claim. I remember reading a book where he claims he is Rama and krishna. Now, it appears things have changed. Take a look at this blog http://bdsteel.tripod.com/More/doss2claims.htm See how he twists Bhagavadgita verse and says "the wicked will not be destroyed"
  2. You assume too many things; don't you?. There was a Tantrik in my grand father's village who used to cure(free of charge) people suffering from snake and scorpion bites. Too bad those people didn't consider him an avtar. :D
  3. If you don't mind Here is my view. HKs are far better than the pseudo-Hindus who are derisive of hinduism.Hks are atleast loyal to their faith unlike the neohindus. Lol.Example of personal attacks.
  4. He is talking about Puttaparthi Saibaba who claims to be an avathar of Rama and krishna. Must be..hmmm.I have a problem if Puttaparthi Saibaba claims to be an Avtar of vishnu in the line of Rama and krishna. It is an insult.Do you get it.
  5. I find the following in bible(Nt) to support what jeffster said in post 14 Matthew 15:24: "But he [Jesus] answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
  6. Here are the translations of Avidhi abnormal, anomalous, perverted, anomaly, aberration. May be you can provide a better translation with reference. http://spokensanskrit.de/index.php?script=HK&tinput=avidhi&country_ID=&trans=Translate&direction=AU
  7. I find the Hks slightly better than the neohindus here. If you question any neohindu here they/he will go berserk and start personal attacks and worse trash entire hinduism if you don't agree with the version of his guru/mentor. The neohindus are completely sure of what they say but if you question them then hell breaks loose.
  8. Why not read what God told about Descending on to the earth?. Gita 4:6: Although I am unborn and My transcendental body never deteriorates, and although I am the Lord of all sentient beings, I still appear in every millennium in My original transcendental form. 4:7 Whenever and wherever there is a decline in religious practice, O descendant of Bharata, and a predominant rise of irreligion--at that time I descend Myself. 4:8: In order to deliver the pious and to annihilate the miscreants, as well as to reestablish the principles of religion, I advent Myself millennium after millennium.
  9. Brendan, In Hinduism one relates to god with love and reverence. I am at a loss to understand the friendship concept. Are you by any chance referring to Psalm 25:14 NLT?.
  10. Can't you understand satire .
  11. There is a small ceremony called VRATYASTOMA. You can get in touch with nearest hindu organisations like VHP or Arya samaj.
  12. Plenty of love in corinthians; forget for a moment leveticus, duetoronomy etc Corinthians 16:22,10:7, 10:10, 7:21- 23
  13. Hindu sadhanas. You haven't heard it? . That is to make Arjuna feel detached from his actions in performing his duties as a kshatriya who assembled to fight. . How do you relate to that feauture?.Jatasya maranam dhruvam. That is what krishna is telling arjuna in chapter 11. Krishna gave options to reach him,By worshipping him in his form(as krishna) or the formless god bg:12:1-4. That is not a jealous god.
  14. Saraswati is a giver of knowledge.Knowledge in itself may not help in business.
  15. Then it must not be existing. Didn't quite shake off the image of a tyrant , brutal and jealous god.Did you?.
  16. Let me pretend to be brave and try to answer your queries to the best of my knowledge. Taking Bhagavadgita as reference (Bg 12:01-4), Hindus express love to god by worshiping him either in his personal form(Like krishna) or in his impersonal form. Also the devote hindu while worshiping God WILL also engage in welfare of ALL creatures. Being friendly to all living beings is also stressed in BG 11:55 God becomes saviour of his devotee by freeing him from the cycle of death and birth.(BG 12:6-7) Krishna says selfishness is the root cause of sin and he says The devotee shall do his duty (5:10) without expecting rewards and surrender himself to god. Those who do selfless work will not be touched by sin(2:39).
  17. Theist, Buddha is mentioned by prabhupada in his purport.SB 4.19.37doesnt say anything about Buddha or about the much abused śaktyāveśa-avatāra concept. It should be of interest to you to read quote from Bhagavad-gītā (4.8): regarding what Krishna said about Avatar(s).
  18. Should have happened?. and then So what?.Lord Rama is not in ordinary human form. plutonium or machine guns?.This is an animalistic mind running riot. You call that proof?.Have you even read the wiki article you quoted? Supposed to have?.Just a paragraph earlier you said there is a proof of lemuria. . So, what are you crying about?. HOW? What are you driving at? confused animalist. How do you propose to redeem the world?.Are you by any chance advocating eating human meat instead of Animal meat? Admin may consider creating a trash bin to move silly threads like this.
  19. There is a difference between detachment and using the concept as an escape from harsh realities of life. Those who achieve sthithapragna(Gita) can attain detachment. The story of Dhruv(as mentioned by AM) makes it clear one cannot forsake his responsibilities to feel closer to god.
  20. This pest is going on and on in circles.I don't understand how admin allow hijacking of forums.
  21. If you read the quoted article in full you would know the uncertainity in dating ramayana. quote "For example, Vedic astrologer Nartaka Gopala devi dasi points out that "Regarding the calculation of Lord Rama’s birth as 10th of January 5114 BCE - Birth Day of Rama, Observation at 12.30 PM, there are 2 reasons why this cannot be correct. ..... This also corroborates why we who follow the Vedic calendar celebrate Lord Rama's appearance in April-May each year. So the traditional date appears accurate." unquote Ignorance is the result of an animalistic mind
  22. Can anybody identify the chapter and verse in Rigveda?.
  23. Perhaps he remembers his days as Vanara(ape like humanoid) during Rama's time.Surely, there must be some good for nothing monkeys in those days.
