  1. The human being is the most privileged in whole of the God's creations. Only the man enjoys the rare gift of thinking and discrimination. Even with his limited knowledge he has achieved tremendous progress in various fields. If he ponders a while on the source of his wisdom, he will be convinced of the presence of an unseen guide and perceive the protection of a mighty Force. That power is GOD and HIS Supremacy has to be acknowledged. Though HE may not be seen and may not speak, but He sends His chosen representatives to spread HIS messages. The sons of God-saints and sages are symbols of daya and purity. We have to play our role according to God's master plan. The bondage and freedom, pleasure and pain, birth and death, gain and loss are mental creations. when we overcome these pairs of opposites, we will not born again. We have to carry our actions in a detached way in a spirit of dedication to the divine. We should spiritualise all our activities and feed the mind with thoughts of God. Our heart should be pure. HariBhol!
  2. To know the Lord as the one who dwells in all & the supporter of all is good but this does not give rise to any special love. Devotees form a particular relationship with God as His child, friend, beloved etc. Remaining in that attitude, they love & serve Him accordingly. It transports them to Bliss unknown to the karmi, yogi or jnani. This special joy can only be appreciated by one who experiences it.Saint Surdasji says The joy that is difficult even for devas of heaven & great yogis to attain was experienced by Yasodha as she rocked Krishna to sleep. HariBhol!
  3. The capacity to realize God lies dormant in everyone. What is required is the motive force to kindle that spiritual consciousness by a proper method(Sadhana). An aspirant knowing , that God is Omnipresent & OmniPotent, should get rid of the feeling of "I am the doer & enjoyer" and discard illusion to obtain mental bliss. He should become humble and request the God to bestow on him the sense to awaken. The inner urge to reach Almighty must not be temporary but remain constant & forever. HariBhol!
  4. Blessed is the family ,worthy of adoration for the whole world and most hallowed too, in which is born a humble devotee of the illustrious RAMA. HE who seeks devotion to the feet of RAMA or to enjoy the state of eternal bliss should fondly drink in this story with the cups of his ears. There can be no happiness for a creature nor can its mind know any peace even in a dream so long as it does not relinquish desire, which is an abode of sorrow, and adore RAMA. Having heard of your fair renown I have come to you with the belief that my LORD dissipates the fear of rebirth . Save me, save me ,"O" RAMA, reliever of distress, delighter of those who take refuge in YOU. HariBhol!
  5. Rama! You are the life of life ,the soul of soul, and the joy of joy. Those who like to be in their home away from you, are under the influence of an adverse fate. No one can speedily know this secret (BHAKTHI is the fountain of all blessings) of Sri RAMA but who ever comes to know it by HIS grace ,can never fall a prey to infatuation even in a dream. "O" men , abandon your varied activities, sins and diverse creeds, which all give birth to sorrow, and with genuine faith "says Tulsidas." be devoted to the feet of RAMA. Bowing my head to all I lay open my terrible distress before you .Unless I behold RAMA's feet the agony of my soul shall not go. HariBhol!
  6. Happiness is acquired through the joy of worship and the cultivation of virtuous qualities. A true devotee is always soft in speech and considerate toward others. At all stages of life, keep away from the evil of violent anger. Those who give charity and look after the welfare of others are ever happy. Bless us with divine fragrance O GOD and purify our speech. May we always speak sweetly. Through our nobility and noble deeds let us earn happiness and make others also happy. May our heart be full of generosity, kindness and love. May it flow to the downtrodden and make them happy. Let us Lead our life in the ideals of yajna, the spirit of sacrifice. Following the path of self-sacrifice, may we render service to humanity. Dispel the deep dark curtain of ignorance, Avidya, non-existence; O non-violent seeker! O persistent devotee! Get rid of the feelings of envy, greed, and other evil impulses. May we always have noble thoughts in our mind; may we never express bitter words in our speech! Through rigorous discipline and strict austerity burn our passionate desires. Get rid of jealousy from your heart and avoid violence. HariBhol! SamaVeda
  7. Never speak harsh words, let not bitter words escape your lips any time, keep them far away. Recognize your own inherent power that may cause to infuse in you all the virtues of the universe. Let the pure joy embrace you in its fold of intense love forever. Behave with others as you would with yourself. All are part of that universal soul. Persons who love all never feel lonely. The divine qualities of forgiveness, compassion and service will make him lovable in the eyes of all. He will experience intense joy through out his life. Find the eternal object of your quest with in your soul. You are searching for ages in ignorance and groping in helplessness. At last when you find the object of the search with in your heart, your inner vision is illuminated in this new realization. Yajur Veda
  8. Ramayana as most of us think is not a mere story. For centuries this scripture has fascinated the minds of millions & a proper understanding of it can help us to lead our lives in an ideal manner. Ramayana shows two contrasting characters Rama & Ravana. Rama was an embodiment of dharma & culture who adhered to duty in His life. Where as Ravana though conquered three worlds could not conquer himself. He was always afraid even while enjoying all comforts. When one does something wrong there is always fear & cowardliness & so he can never be at peace. Rama on the otherhand conquered the slavery of His mind & so was peaceful even though He had to live in the forest. Another reason for not having peace in our life is because we do not have love in our heart for others. Loving is giving oneself totally with out expecting anything in return. Reciprocal love is like bargain. Rama is a personification of love for He embraced even the brother of His enemy. The moment we understand the true love there will be peace. HariBhol!
  9. Though the life story of Buddha evokes peace & compassion, somehow an impression has gained that Busshism stood for atheism.India had accepted Buddha & not Buddhism. His directives were" Be good & talk good". There is truth in our heart. Do not put off the tasks required of life. Avoid doing all wicked actions, practice the most perfect virtue& thoroughly subdue your mind. Desire is the root cause of all the miseries. HariBhol!

  12. Dear animesh, Dwapara yuga ends with the death of Lord Krishna from this world. Vyasa was a Jnani he knew the past, present & future. He had written about Parikshit's death from his prediction. Srimad Bhagavat begins with Bhoomidevi crying & complaining about Kalipurusha to Parikshit. If we analyse systematically, first Lord Himself gave Vedas, It did not reach everybody, so Upanishads were given, they also could not reach to everyone, then Itihas ; they reached people to some extend, seeing all these Vyasa felt his writings should reach every individual, so he came up with Bhagavat which is just a repeatation of all the avatars of Lord Naarayana with special focus on Dasamaskand Krishna's leelas. HariBhol!
  13. Mahabharat ends with Lord Krishna's death from this world. With that Dwaparayuga ends. After hearing the news about the death of Krishna Pandavas also left this world. Pandavas crowned Parikshit & left. Parikshit's Growth as a king started in early Kaliyuga. When he reached 32 he got curse & then met Sukamuni who recited whole of Srimad Bhagavat & made him attain mukthi in 7 days. SrimadBhagavat is nothing but reapetation of Lord Narayana's leelas as 10 avatars with special focus on Lord Krishna as it is easy to attain Him by simple devotion. Though It was written by Vyasa It was propagated only by SukaMuni . Vyasa wrote SrimadBhagavat(the summary of all his writings) for Kaliyug people to attain God in an easy way by means of simple devotion. There need not be any confusion regarding SrimadBhagavatam. HariBhol!
  14. Dear sumeet, Shvu is not denying the fact that Krishna is God. He does not like the idea of ISKCON making only Krishna as Supreme God & making the real Supreme Lord Narayana unknown. All the members in this forum are devotees of Krishna. We want you to understand that Naarayana is the Supreme & Ultimate God. Krishna is an avatar of Narayana the Paramodevata. HariBhol!

  16. Mo sama deena na deena hita tuma samana Raghuveer Asa bichari Raguvamsamani harahu vishama bhava bheer Kaamihi naari piyari jimi lobhihi priya jimi dham Thimi Ragunatha nirantara priya lagahu mohi Raam There is no one so miserable as I nor such a friend of miserable as you, O Hero of Raghu's line! Realising this O jewel of Raghu's race take away my fear of birth & death, which is so terrible. May you be ever dear to me , Raama, as women is dear to lustful man, & money is dear to greedy, O Lord of the Raghus. Hari Bhol!

  19. Dear shuv, All the Gopis were given equal importance in the SrimadBhagavat. 31st chapter of 10th Canto of Bhagavat gives Gopi geetam sung by all the Gopis crying for the love of Krishna. Though Krishna played with Gopalas also, those Gopalas were not that crazy(single minded devotion) for Krishna as Gopikas. Krishna says to Gopikas He is indebted to them for their love to Him. I think Chaitanya Mahaprabu, took Radha as representative of Gopis & personified himself as Radha & attained Krishna through prema bhakthi. That is how Radha must have gained popularity. Any how any jiva can attain Krishna like Gopi(Radha for example)by premabhakthi. We must develop simple & pure devotion to Krishna for attaining HIM. HariBhol!
  20. Replace I & mine with you & yours. You can easily develop love for God. if you know Hindi, listen to Meerabai's bajans, if you know Tamil listen to Thiruppavai, if you know Telugu listen to Annamacharya kritis & if you know Kannada listen to Purandardas kritis etc, you will be able to develop love for God. Do you know what is the meaning of the word ego? edging God out. Hari Bhol!
  21. Was Rama Aryan as claimed by some Dravidians? No! Aryan invation theory was created in 19th century. 1. Tradition is unanimous that Rama was a Kshatriya (of the warrior class) whereas Ravana was a descendant of Maharshi Pulyatsya and was therefore a Brahmin. The Jyotirlinga temple at Rameshwaram owes its existence to the expiation performed by Lord Rama for the killing of Brahmins like Ravana. 2. Rama is depicted as a dark man whereas Ravana is depicted as a fair-skinned person in the epic. If Dravidians were dark and Aryans were fair, then Rama should be a Dravidian and Ravana should be an Aryan. 3. Ravana's chief queen was Mandodari, who hailed from Mandor in Rajasthan, part of "Aryan" country. Therefore, even if Ravana was a "Dravidian", it still follows that "Aryan-Dravidian" marriages were prevalent in those days. 4. Ravana is depicted in the epic as a scholar of Sanskrit. When the monkey-God Hanuman went to Lanka, he is said to have seen smoke emanating from the Vedic altars in the homes of the citizens of Lanka. Valmiki, the author of the Ramayana, also states that Hanuman heard the recitations of Vedas from the homes of Lankans. In short, the Lankans were Aryans! 5. Barring Rama and his brother Lakshmana, the entire "Vanara-sena" (army) was comprised of the natives of South India. Therefore, the war could very well be characterized as one between Dravidians. By no stretch of imagination can the battle/war between Rama and Ravana could be characterized as one between Aryans and Dravidians. It is said that when Rama first met Hanuman, the latter addressed Rama in such mellifluous speech that Valmiki makes Rama say that Hanuman has to be a scholar in the Trayvidya to be able to speak so well. 6. According to anthropologists, Sri Lanka was originally inhabited by a people called Veddas who were not Dravidian. Thereafter, the North Indians from Gujarat and Tamils from the South migrated to Sri Lanka. This view of anthropologists puts a big question mark on the Aryan-Dravidian theory propagated by Christian missionaries and racist historians. courtesy vnn.org Hari Bhol!
  22. Hindu religion is like Banyan tree. It will spread itself. We do not need any agent for spreading our religion. So stop worrying. Since Hindu religion is the oldest religion, everyone is basically a Hindu . All the other religions are man made religions. As Krishna said in Gita anybody from any dharma can surrender to Him & He will take care of such person. HariBhol!
  23. It is really very sad to see the Nature's fury at Gujarat. Nearly 17000 people were feared dead. Your idea of collecting money & keeping it in FD for such disasters is good. Each individual must do something to this situation. May God give stength to the relatives of the victims to bear the tregedy! HariBhol!
  24. The lesson one should learn from Karna is that however great a person can be, he can not be successful if accompanies adharma . You should always go in dharmic way to attain your goal. If you take righteousness God will help you till the end. Duryodana is kali of kaliyuga & not Kaali. Karna helps him & so falls inspite of his talents & gifts. There is no doubt that Krishna is all Pervading, Omnipotent & Omnipresent. HariBhol!
  25. Dear animesh, Rada did exist during Krishna's time & Rada was one of His favourite Devotees. He gave His flute to her when He left to Mathura to kill Kamsa. He also sends Utava to Gopis to get the bhakthi bavana from Gopis. Uthava was a Jnani. He had the theoretical knowledge that Krishna is omnipresent. Gopis had the practical knowledge that Krishna is Omnipresent. When you learn yourself, you always have that ego of I learnt. That was present with Utava. So to remove it & to make him realise how Gopis practically experience His Omnipresence He sends Utava to Gokul to meet Gopis. Before Utava leaves he asks Krishna how can those uneducated , villge girls understand that God is Omnipresent. Krishna asks him to see himself at Gokul. When he meets Gopalas, 1/4 of his ego goes off, after meeting & learning the experience of Yasoda & Nanda 1/2 his ego vanishes. He then meets Radha, she asks him what can the uneducated village girls do for him? the same words which he used are repeated by Radha. Then he realizes that where ever Krishna is present there His devotee Radha is also present. His ego completely goes from him & he becomes humble devotee like Gopis. Nobody can deny the presence of Radha during Krishna's time. Again & again I want to insist that in my opinion Radha Krishna represents the union of jivatma with Paramatma. HariBhol!
