  1. The five basic Truths of Divine wisdom are The Supreme, the individual self, the means, the goal, & the barriers. The Ramayana is the authoritative exposition of these Truths. Rama is the Supreme Brahman. Lakshmana is ideal jivatma(individual self). The instances of the surrender illustrate the nature of means. Service to Lord is the Goal & Ravana & his kin represent the barriers. HariBhol!
  2. Ekadasi comes twice a month. 11th day after every Amavasya(Newmoon day) & 11 th day after every Full Moon day. If possible try to fast with out eating anything. If you can not do that try to eat just fruits or veg. Avoid eating rice that day. Actually Upavas means live near God , more than avoiding food you should try to remember God throught the day. Talk about God & spend your time in thinking about HIM. HariBhol!
  3. Dear Gopal Mohan, Try to download the Kundli software at www.cnet.com www.zdnet.com www.zdnetindia.com www.google.com Please notify me if you are not able to find the software. HariBhol! viji
  4. The Lord has given us ample riches ,still we feel our soul is hallow, & crave for more. He has given us supreme stength still we feel weak & emaciated. Let the stream of God's love flow in our soul, in our veins, freely to enable us to face the adversities of life with calm confidence. hariBhol! Rigveda
  5. God is all in all. But only those devotees who completely & in full faith surrender to Him find His helping hand ever ready to guide & protect them. A firm faith in God alone is the ray of hope that penetrates the gloom of fear & ignorance. The one who has faith & trust in the Lord invariably conquers adverse circumstances & emerges as winner in the struggle of life. HariBhol! Rigveda!
  6. O all-wise & all-seeing God direct the ignorant worshippers & help them to revert to acts which will reclaim them. Always you protect in times of conflict- those who are feeble, but follow the path of truth, against those who are strong but tumble on the wrong path. May your blessings from all sides assuredly reach the seekers of truth. HariBhol! Rig veda.
  7. Sri Rama the slayer of Trisira will grant all the desires of those men & women who listen to Sri Rama's praises, the remedy for the disease of transmigration. Listen to the praises of Sri Rama, who possesses a form as dark as blue lotus, who by His elegance extinguishes millions of cupids & whose Name is a veritable flower for birds in the shape of sins. HariBhol!
  8. Lord Rama abides in the heart of those who have no lust, anger, arrogance, pride or frustation or infatuation and who are with out greed, excitement, attraction or aversion & who are free from fraud, hypocracy & deceit etc.
  9. Dear rajesh, Now also you are taking hasty decision to quit the forum, instead of overcoming your insecurity (Maya?). First of all a hindu should learn to tolerate. Tolerence is taught only by hindu religion. All other religions want their deciples to accept what they teach. They have no freedom of speech or thoughts. You are a lucky hindu who wants to pursue in spiritual path. With out feeling any insecurity continue to chant your mantra & with Krishna's grace you will attain your goal. All the best to you! May Lord Hari give you courage & shower His blessings on you! HariBhol!
  10. Pulaka batika baga bana sukha subihanga biharu Maali sumana saneha jala seenchata lochana charu. The thrill of joy that one experiences while listening to narrative represents the flower of gardens, orchards & groves; & the delight one feels is the sporting of birds;a noble mind is the gardener, who waters the garden etc with the moisture of love through the charming jars of eyes. Jo sraddha sambala rahita nahi santhanha kar saath Thinha kahu maanasa agama athi jinhahi na priya Raghunath. The Maanasa is most inaccessible to those who lack provisions for the journey in the shape of peity(daya), who do not enjoy the company of saints & who have no love for the Lord of Raghus.
  11. O Supreme Lord! You are ever existent, ever conscious & ever blissful. We meditate on your adorable glory. May You guide & inspire our intellect on the path of highest divinity! May we be able to discriminate between truth & falsehood! HariBhol!
  12. Let us devote our energies to noble & beneficial works. The Supreme Lord assigns specific work to every individual. It is His pleasure that all of us respond to His commands.Let us Focus our mind to Him , meditate on HIM & surrender to HIM alone. HariBhol!
  13. He knows the truth who knows God is one. Neither second nor third. He surveys all that breathes & that breathes not. He possesses the Supreme power. He is one, The One alone. In Him all divine powers become the One alone. Seek Him everywhere. all is His reach. He is full of wisdom. He fulfils all our aspirations. He is the source of all our intelligence & stength. HariBhol!
  14. Uma je Rama charana rata bigata kaama mada krodh Nija Prabumaya dekhahi jagata kehi sana karahi Birodh Uma, those who are devoted to SriRama's feet are free from lust, vanity & anger & look upon the whole world as full of their Lord; against whom can they harbour animosity? HariBhol!
  15. The good & evil which are the creation of Sri Hari's delusive potency, can not be eliminated except through worship of Sri Hari. Bearing this in mind & giving up all desires, one should adore Sri Hari. In this age of Kali one can easily cross the ocean of birth & death by singing SriHari's holy praises. HariBhol!
  16. Sabari geedha susevakani sugati dheenhi Raghunath Naama udhare amitha khala bedha bidhita guna gaath Rama conferred immortality only on faithful servants like Sabari(the celebrated Bhila woman) & vulture (Jatayu), while His name has delivered innumerable wretches; the tale of Its virtues is well known in Vedas. HariBhol!
  17. Dear rajesh, Tulsidas says Kama, krodh, madh lobh sub nath narak ke pank meaning lust, anger, ego & greed are doors of hell. Why do you get so angry? Main obstacle for progress in the spiritual path is anger & ego ( the feeling of what we say is crrect). Each one is entaitled for his opinion. Our religion itself has given that freedom. What ever you want to convey, convey it in positive way. Since all of us are devotees of Krishna ,let us recite HIS words in the form of BG in original Sanskrit version with faith. I am sure the soundways of our recitation will reach Him surely. May God remove your anger on fellow devotees just because they question your guru's writings! HariBhol!
  18. Salutations to Lord Ramachandra- the friend of all beings. Bless me O Lord , for getting the nectar of devotion. Those who sing or hear the story of Sita & Rama's marriage shall ever rejoice; for Sri Rama's glory is an abode of felicity. HariBhol!
  19. Sanyasa means tyaga, sacrifice. Sacrifice all your desires & attachments. You need not renounce the world to become a sanyasi. You can be a real sanyasi if you could control all your senses. You need not go to forest to become a sanyasi. Do all your duties with out any expectation & with detachment. In the 18th chapter of Gita Krishna says sacrifice even the desire of attaining salvation . So we should not have any desire (even to attain God )to become a real sanyasi. HariBhol!
  20. The 11th canto of Bhagavat catogorises the devotees as Uttama - Best - Those who love the Lord as the self of all, hence love all unconditionlly. Madhyama- Middle- those who love His devotees, are compassionate towards the under privileged, & indifferent to wicked. Manda- last - those who think of Lord only as an idol or form. They remain indifferent to His devotees & dislike others. They become fanatics & breed hatred & strive. Attachment is because of & devotion is inspite of. Even though devotion is one alone, its expressions are many, due to the differences in the attitudes & aptitudes of devotees. The devotee whose mind is established in God conquers the three worlds. A devotee easily crosses the Maya. Even God constantly chants the name of such a devotee! The whole world chants the name of Lord Krishna; but Lord Krishna told Uddhava that He was constantly remembering the love of Gopikas. Tulsidas says-' I prostrate to Hanumanji, whose fame even Rama extols.' May we too gain Supreme love & fulfil the purpose of our life. HariBhol!
  21. To reach God & spiritual knowledge about His Supreme powers & of the Self & its limitations, devotion & detachment are necessary. Men know how to make money, are devoted towards their families but detached when it relates to God ( they shy away from GOD).God will get bound by our abundant love & devotion. The Upanishads say that God is within each one of us & that we should feel His presence at all times. We should return to the Almighty what He has granted to us. On that score, what was earned through unrighteous methods should not be submitted to Him. God will be with us if we entertain pure thoughts in our minds. What God expects of a devotee is his sincerity & faith. HariBhol!
  22. Rama the divine hero of this epic is the ideal man, the man parexellence of Hindus. He is the Maryada-purushottama. He had all the virtues which make a man perfect. He is an ideal son, ideal brother, an ideal husband and an ideal friend. He is perfect in every way. He loved His brothers as His own self. On the eve of His coronation to the throne of Ayodya, He missed His brothers Bharata and Satrugna, who were away with their mothers parents. He feels disturbed at the news of His coronation. The very thought that He should rule the kingdom and His brothers should serve Him is revolting to Him. That is why when mother Kaikeyi tells Him in the presence of His father about the two boons she had asked him, He welcomes the idea rather than perturbed over it. He thus demonstrates to the world that one should neither rejoice nor recoil over favorable or unfavorable things. A mere hint from His step mother is enough for Him to give up His rightful claim for the throne. Instead of resenting the behavior of Kaikeyi who is instrumental in sending Him to exile, He rejoices over the prospect of meeting the sages in the forest and happy to carry the order of His father and wishes of His stepmother. He feels happy to think that the throne will go to Bharata who is dearer to Him than His own life. He takes it as a piece of good luck and proceeds to forest with out seeking any confirmation from His father. In this way He has discharged His obligation not only to His parents but also to His brother proving Himself an ideal son and an ideal brother. HariBhol!
  23. Instead of wasting our time whether Prabhupada's translation of BG is right or not let us chant BG original & get Krishna's Bliss. God's words are not mere empty words, but contain the potency to clear all the dirt within. Chanting is an easy process & the BG exert a powerful influence on man & condition his mind. Let us cultivate devotion by recitation .Let the milk of our mind be churned into the Butter of Divine Love by means of religious practices. HariBhol!
  24. Mantras( special chants in which are embeded the secrets of God's real form) are an effective medium to worship. Recited with sincerity & devotion, they help us to achieve perfect communion with the God. They are also potent antidotes to nullify the evil influences & deadly effects of badthings. Mantras enable us to develop stength to overcome or withstand the impact of inimical forces. The names of God when uttered with devotion will fetch Bliss. That is proved through Droupati's appeal to Govinda. The Bhagavatam is specially intended to highlight the beneficial result of chanting God's Naama. HariBhol!
  25. God is supremely compassionate and loving by nature. He can not bear the sight of others suffering and none can equal HIM. God is so benign and kind hearted. He who comes to realise the kind heartedness of God becomes kind hearted himself. He who sees God in all beings never loses HIS sight. Liberation is brought about by self-realization. The Vedas have prescribed various methods for attaining it; such as disinterested action, meditation and knowledge of self act; which can be practiced at all times by all. Salvation is not something impossible to achieve in the present age
