  1. It is really to sad to note that the scholors who understand Gita talk about Krishna's pure love as romance. For your kind information , the love that was present between Gopikas & Krishna( Radha was also one of the Gopikas) did not have lust. Our love between a boy friend & girl friend has lust in it . There is mention of Radha in Bhagavatam. As already mentioned the relationship between Radha & Krishna indicates the union of Jivatma & Paramatma. To show to the world that God is beyond lust He enacted Rasalila. Usually the romance with lust is carried out with in four walls. This Rasalila was carried out in an open ground & all the devas, kinnaras & gandarvas were watching. In Rasalila Krishna makes each Gopi to feel that He is present with her. Krishana wants His devotees to understand that He is free & can be attained easily by anybody whose love is pure devotion like Gopikas. It is really sad to to misinterpret Krishna's love with romance. May Krishna remove their ignorance! HariBhol!
  2. Dear Bhakth Shakta, As we know, our next janma depends on our karma. If a person does only goodthings , he accumulates punya, accordingly he takes next janma. Some time he may attain the position of demi gods. As in our day to day activities for example in a large company the chairman who is the controller does not take all responsibilities. He allots the entire work to a group of people. Our universe is a big company, Lord Narayana is the Supreme controller, He allots certain duties to demi gods who attained such position because of their good deeds. The philosophy behind is punya alone will not bring Mukthi for us. To get mukthi we should be beyond all gunas (Nirgunan), & have pure devotion with out any motive. Sacrifice all the desires & surrender unto Him alone. Fix your mind on Him alone & attain Him. HariBhol! viji_53
  3. Hindu religion is the oldest religion. All the other religions came after sometime. So all the people born in this earth are basically Hindus. Those who follow other religion, adopted them for time being. You can come back to your mother religion anytime. Going to other religion is like Indians taking US citizenship. They can surrender US citizenship & anytime can take Indian citizenship. So basically all are Hindus. All are born as hindus only.
  4. Our goal in this life is to attain Lord. It can be done by many methods like tapa, japa , or by doing your duty or by realizing the self. Realizing the self is not that easy. You should be mature enough. In order to encourage devotion , we have many dieties in our religion. For example Saraswati to get education, Lakshmi for wealth etc. The main deity is Narayana. Narayana is the Paramo Devata. He has allotted certain jobs to certain devatas like producing rain is Varuna's job. Vayu for wind. Indra is the leader of all devas. Anybody can attain the position of Indra by conducting 1000 Aswameda yaga. Coming to the point of many dieties, a person will develop devotion if he gets something out of it. Everybody is not mature enough to attain salvation,( even the desire of attaing salvation should go , That is why 18th chapter of Gita is called as Moksha sanyasa Yoga:) So people are encouraged to ask the dieties to fulfil their desires through worship.Slowly they will develop devotion by attaining their wishes & by reciting Ramayana, Gita etc at one stage they will come to realise that Narayana is the Supreme God. Then they may slowly control their senses & worship Him just for love or devotion. That is the philosophy of having many dieties in our religion. HariBhol!
  5. Twice born means, You are considered born again after the performance of Upanayanam the thread cermony. Brahmins are called as twice born.
  6. In Atharvana Veda it is clearly mentioned that the soil present in the Moon is black. we beleived that only when Amstrong went & brought the soil from the moon. It is also mentioned in the Atharvana veda that water contains two gases Hydrogen & Oxygen in 2:1 proportion. We did not expose our knowledge to the world. That is the biggest draw back on behalf of us. All the present missiles were used in Mahabharat war which were given in Vedas. Atharvana Veda also gives the names of the plants which can cure many latest diseases which are again not exposed to the entire world. I think the reason for not exposing the knowledge is to prevent the misuse like Asvattama did in using Brahma astra in killing Droupatis children. Anyhow We should have exposed it to the world taking precaution for misuses.
  7. Place Kurukshetra exists. The holy book Bhagavat Gita exists. The proof for existance of Lord Krishna exists from Srimad Bhagavat. If anybody do not want to beleive in BG let them not beleive. Nobody is compelling them. Dwaraka is still there. As Krishna declared in Gita only wise people will recognise HIM. HariBhol!
  8. Dear srix29, You seem to be bored with all the things you have enjoyed so far. Are you sure you do not want to enjoy new things if they come on your way? You have attained a temporary vairagya to pursue in the spiritual path. Let the vairagya become permanent by reciting God's name continuously. Then you can think of going further. HariBhol!
  9. Dear srix29, You seem to be bored with all the things you have enjoyed so far. Are you sure you do not want to enjoy new things if they come on your way? 10. Radha attained Madhava(Lord Krishna) by pure devotion. To invoke such pure devotion in us we are encouraged to sing Jaya Radha Madava before SB & BG classes.
  11. All the vaishnavas use same names of Vishnu while applying tilak.
  12. As Garuchandra said Hindu religion will not perish under any circumstances. The main reason for this is the freedom we get in our religion. You will rebel only when we are forced to a thing whether we like it or not. We should be proud to be Hindus,as you have to be born Hindu if you want to be a hindu. As youngsters like you are concerned about the religion that itself is sufficient for its survival. Do not worry, nothing bad can happen to our religion. We should create interest in Ramayana & Gita in our youngsters. That will take care of our religion. As Vedas are difficult to learn, we can go for Ramayana & Gita which are simple to understand. Thanks to ISKCON for providing Gita like bible for all star hotels in India . We should provide Ramayana also like that. Hari Bhol!
  13. Just because we do not see sugar in sugar solution it does not mean that sugar is not present. The presense of sugar is felt by another sense (taste). When we accept abstract theories in our sciences can't we accept the presence of God?. The power of maya is so great even divine people like Narada could not overcome it sometimes. God is not a concept to explain about HIm. He is beyond everything. Unless we have strong faith it is not possible to understand HIM. we should not have any prejudice also. We can critise but should not hate anybody. First let us cultivate the habit of seeing good in everything & optimism. Let us Shed of our ego that we know everything . God is easily approached by simple devotees. First let us become good, simple, polite & kind hearted, then let us start questioning about the presence of God. Hari Bhol!
  14. The purpose of our life is to realize God. Do not think that keeping vratas or going to temple have no meaning. Vratas make you realise what is hunger & make you take pity when you come across poor hungry men & will cultivate the habit of feeding them. Upavas really means live near God. That means you are suppose to think about Him throught the day. That will make you slowly think about Him daily. Temple is the place where all people come & worship, by doing that we make the Idol powerful by our devotion. The divinity increases. Again in temples prasad is distributed. Those who can afford take the responsibility of feeding the people who come to temple. That way also you learn to be kind hearted show mercy to others. Easiest way to reach God is to chant His names. There is no restrictions for that. If you can, recite Ramayana & Gita regularly. It is my personal experience the recitation helps you to change a lot. You become friendly, kind, pleasant & lovable. Everybody will like your company inspite of age difference. Like our parents who wait for us when we go out, God is waiting for us to return to Him. Through human form alone we can attain Him. So our goal is to realize HIM & attain Him.

    GOD

We can not justify our bad actions under any circumstancas. No body is responsible for our sufferings. Everything is because of our past karmas. Echo deponds on sound. If you are God fearing you will hesitate to do prohibited acts. People who are corrupt will be born as dogs in next janma. But people think they are going to live permanently happy. They are enjoying temporary pleasures which will also going to bring them sufferings. God conciousness will also make you polite, friendly, simple & lovable. People who justify their bad acts are immature. Only pessimists will have the tendency to become atheists. Also the sadists who want to project their bad actions on somebody else be atheists. It is easy to convert people who are atheists.I have converted one atheist in to a devotee. It is difficult to convert people who keep one leg in theism & another leg atheism. They do not completely accept God & do not deny also. When you do not know what is going to happen next moment , how can you say there is no God? True Devotees will never blame God for anything under any circumstances. You read 7th chapter of Gita. It will help you to understand about past karmas. Hari Bhol!
  16. The purpose of our life is to realize God & reach HIM. We are fortunate to get this human form. Only in this form we can attain God. The easiest method to attain Him is through devotion. The nine features of devotion which could be the highest education are ; to hear the praise of God, to remember His deeds, to sing His glories & chant His names, to talk about His traits, to involve oneself in His service, to worship Him, to dedicate all actions at His Feet, to try & understand that He can be one's comrade, and to offer total surrender to Him and to His devotees.
  17. The Man lives on hopes and faith in God. At every stage particularly in modern days, he has to face several risks, hazards and challenges. If he does not have belief that some one unseen is protecting him, he will be worried and there by suffer from mental torture. The air he breathes is polluted and the food he takes may be contaminated. Who protect him from the ill-effects of these factors? Is there safety when he travels? Still he continues his routine, not realizing that a Superior unseen Force takes care of him and the entire humanity. That Unknown, indescribable Supreme authority is called God. Those who repose trust in Him and entrust themselves seeking His protection will be saved while others will get tossed about in life, but they too will one day realise that God alone can be their constant companion. There are some people who hold the view that GOD is a mere concept. But careful thought would reveal their ignorance in the true nature of God. The real never ceases to exist. God is the only real ultimate source of energy; who is knowledge and bliss combined and is called by several names. He does not change even when everything change. God is eternal truth and knower of everything. He is intelligent power. God alone knows what He is. Besides Him, the God realized soul who has known the reality about Him may give some indication of what is reality. Hari Bhol!
  18. Dear shvu, You are confusing devotion with renunciation. Devotion is beginning in spiritual path. It will slowly control your senses & make you progress in the spiritual path. In Gita also Bhagavan said the goal of this life is to reach Him. That can be done by 3 yogas. Only in the 18th chapter He says renounce the idea of attainig Mukthi also & let you surrender unto Me & I will take care of you. That is why that chapter is called as Moksha Sanyasa yogaha. So there is nothing wrong in cultivating devotion with some motive. When you progress you will realize we need not desire for anything & you will be happy with what ever you get. We live in hope. With same hope let us live to attain Him through devotion.
  19. Lord Vishnu took avatar as Rama not only to kill Ravana & other asuras. He wanted to show how a man should live in this world. There is no wonder when Bakthas remember God. It is a great Surprise if God remembers His devotee. That is what happens in Ramayana. He enacted the play of His exile through Kaikeyi to show the greatness of Bharata. Had we known Bharata's love & devotion towards Rama, had Rama did not go to forest? Definitely not. So there is a reason for every divine will. It is pre determined also. Nothing is in our hands. Rama also shows that nobody is exempt from punishment for their bad deeds. Kaikeyi loses her son Bharata's love for being an instument for sending Rama to forest. Rama as Krishna in His next avatar also accepts His death at the hands of hunter who was Vali in his previous birth. Rama accepts the fact that it is not right to kill Vali for what ever reason from hidden place. That way He conveys to the world that nobody is exempt from fruit for their deeds whether good or bad. You can not see even a single sloka about Rama blaming Kaikeyi in Ramayana for His exile. The reason for Rama's exile is mainly to show the greatness of His brother Bharata. If we also behave like Bharata we can also make God remember us. Each character in Ramayana convey certain meaning. May the Lord Rama bless' us to be like Bharata who is a pure devotee & is constantly remembered by Rama! Hari Bhol!
  20. Dear Shvu, There is nothing wrong in opposing. Even our Vedas allowed questions raised by Muni Jabali. All the azvars who have seen God ,their songs ,temples which they visited & did mangalasan do exist even today. So you can not say God is faith alone.Nalayiradivyaprabandam & 106 Vaishnava divya desangal are proof for the existence of God. So many saints like Meerabai, Tulsidas, Ramadas, Purandaradas, Tyagaraja, Ramakrishna Paramahamsa & Chaitanya maha Prabu, left their writngs as proof of God for us. It is not that easy to see God . You can see God only you have no attachment for anything, when your desires are nil, when all the vasanas must have left you. The epics like Ramayana & Mahabharata, the places involved , the temples, are best example to say God Rama & Krishna existed. The Ramesvaram bridge, Maturea, Brindavan, Ayadya etc prove that Lord Rama & lord Krishna were there in our holy land India. You should be nirgunan ie You should be beyond all 3 (satva, rajo & tamo )gunas, to realize God. You should overcome all negative qualities to see God. By chanting His names we can experience change in our manners(gunas). If we do not find any change in our gunas, we are not all progressing in the spiritual path. By chanting His names first our tamo guna, then rajo gunas will disappear. We will become satvik. That also should go & we should become nirgunan to see God face to face. Faith is required to realize God but faith alone will not bring realisation. You need certain efforts also to see God. In this Kali yuga chanting His names will make you progress in the spiritual path. For that you need both Faith & effort. HariBhol!
  21. No where in Bhagavat you can see Radha as incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi. Radha is an extrordinary jivatma who attained Lord Krishna out of pure love & devotion. Radha is a typical example for us to attain God through simple & pure love. Krishna cares for our pure love & devotion & not for anything else. The union of jivatma with Paramatma can be attained by devotion is represented by RadhaKrishna.
  22. The moral of the story is : Under any circumstances we sholud not differentiate humanbeings because of their births. What is the use of being a devotee if you do not have the tolerance? Education or wisdom which does not bring politeness is waste.
  23. In my opinion I give following reasons for numerals 1 to 9. One indicates The Supreme God is One. Two indicates Paramatma & Jivatma. Three indicates Union of Atma with Paramatma requires Acharya(teacher). Four is represented by Seasons. Five is represented by 5 senses. Six indicates our Kama, krodha, Lob, Moha,Madh, & Mascharya. Seven indicates Sapta Nakshtras. Eight is represented by Ashta disas. Nine by Nava grahas. Hari Bhol!
  24. According to Vaishnava dharma with out mercy of Universal Mother it is impossible to obtain the mercy of the Lord. When ordinary mother is so kind to her children , how much abundant love & kindness would be expressed by Universal Mother towards Her children? Ashtapati written by Jayadeva explains the pure love& devotion between Krishna & Radha. They are wonderful. May Lord Krishna bless us also with such devotion! Hari Bhol!
  25. Women's great weakness is her blind affection to her children. That is a great ignorance too. All the women should be encouraged to take spiritual path & should be encouraged to recite Vedas & Upanishads. Taking spiritual path sould not be confused with renouncing the world. Reciting Ramayana & Gita will help them. But people have time for everything except for sparing few minutes for prayer. I feel the ignorance arising out of blind affection is the cause for all social evils which can be avoided by removing their ignorance. May Lord Hari showers HIS blessings on ladies to overcome their ignorance.
