  1. Firstly, it was Krsna's pastimes that were mentioned which does not necessarily refer to his descent(s) as avatara. Secondly, His descents are `to restablish religious principles` (whose meaning and purpose continue to become twisted by human-beings in spite of various sampradayas, scriptures, gurus and sadhus), but mainly to please His devotees. Thirdly, by contemplating the Goloka pastimes of Sri Sri Radha-Krsna one can become freed from material consciousness, or at least begin the process. Finally, Krsna as Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu appeared in the mood of Srimati Radharani not to establish more principles of religion, but to transcend them, as does Radhika Herself by Her very nature. This present Age of Kali is certainly rife with confusion. It is, after all the `age of quarrel and hypocrisy`...Still, great saintly personalities are most grateful that simply chanting the Lord's Holy Names can deliver each and every one of us in these the darkest of times. All glories to that Krsna in the mood of Radha, who desires only to freely distribute Her ultimate form of purest Divine Love even to the least qualified. JAYA NITAI-GAURA! JAI SRI RADHA! ------------------ Radhe Radhe always Radhe! amanpeter@hotmail.com [This message has been edited by valaya (edited 01-15-2002).]

  3. I only have one small cat, but with maybe 20 more and perhaps a few dogs I wouldn't have to bathe at all! Can't say this isn't a clean joke, though probably not a very good one...valaya a la maya [This message has been edited by valaya (edited 01-14-2002).]
  4. Understood! I was thinking it might be beneficial to discuss a widening of forum selections and also provide a less restrictive `Istaghosti` where participants could communicate on any topic or simply with each other. For instance, this thread is entitled `To Tarun` yet is posted here because there is no specific place to put it. I understand that such changes would probably tax your energies even further, jndas, when you already are so constructively engaged elsewhere, but maybe someone here could help out. Unfortunately not moi, as I'm just a fumbling fool stumbling through the confusion of computerdom. Nor am I ungrateful for these facilities you've already provided us. valaya
  5. Don't know whether this is at all relevant to the thread or topics under discussion, but since it was brought up in the previous post I must say that the movement of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu has little or nothing to do with religion as such. In fact, it distills the essence of all religions into their purest form as a loving interpersonal relationship with the Absolute Supreme Divinity. His teachings can only be truly realized from the perspective of Raganuga, sometimes called para-bhakti, while blindly following regulated vaidhi can often be a hindrance to progress, individual or institutional. ------------------ Radhe Radhe always Radhe! amanpeter@hotmail.com [This message has been edited by valaya (edited 01-13-2002).]

  7. May I suggest that all topic headings and descriptions of their content be reviewed, with regular posters offering ideas as to how we might communicate more effectively? I for one would like to see an `Istaghosi` section where polite exchanges amongst individuals might be permitted on any topic. Also, mundane `Politics` could be allotted it's own place so those of us without such a bent could remain at a safe distance...respectfully, valaya [This message has been edited by valaya (edited 01-13-2002).]
  8. Dear Atma prabhu, what is meant by "Patronage against" and "Representation"? ------------------ Radhe Radhe always Radhe! amanpeter@hotmail.com
  9. If we are speaking here of Jayananda das, the disciple of Srila Prabhupada who started the Rathayatra festivals and built the first carts, you might want to contact Dasaratha-suta as I seem to remember he was putting on some kind of video/slide show associated with the book he'd worked on. He also translates exceptionally sweet books from former acaryas and great devotees, distributing them as `Nectar Books`, P.O. Box 574, Union City, Georgia 30291. If you wish to Email him, write me and I'll forward it. For anyone interested, his books are available as a complete set and well worth the cost in sweetness. ------------------ Radhe Radhe always Radhe! amanpeter@hotmail.com

  12. Srila AC Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada: Mahaprabhu, the Golden Avatar, Embraces hearts of gold; Radha-dasi manjaris Deepen Her mood in Him, Divine Love unconditional Unlimited endless Grace. ------------------ Radhe Radhe always Radhe! amanpeter@hotmail.com
  13. Transferred from `The Gospel of Jesus Christ` thread, with thanks to Gauracandra: True salvation lies in recognizing Our Eternal Beloved in each other, and acting accordingly, through His Divine Grace. Devotional service is the Supreme gift which can neither be earned nor repayed, only accepted with grateful humility. In material conciousness others are merely accessories, but in God conciousness the roles are reversed... valaya ------------------ Radhe Radhe always Radhe! amanpeter@hotmail.com [This message has been edited by valaya (edited 01-12-2002).]
  14. The Kingdom of God is not so much a place as it is purified conciousness. Goloka Vrndavan and all of it's residents (including those forms of Sri Krsna we find most adorable) is pure hladini potency, Divine Love personified as Srimati Radharani Herself. She is the end and the means for all Gaudiya Vaisnava devotees. Devotional service is Her gift awarded through Lord Caitanya, Jesus Christ, Srila Prabhupada and so many others--past, present, and future. There may be `different strokes for different folks` but the ocean remains One. For the personalist, realization means relationship. ------------------ Radhe Radhe always Radhe! amanpeter@hotmail.com [This message has been edited by valaya (edited 01-12-2002).]
  15. Before becoming vegetarian, learn to appreciate and enjoy fasting. Before becoming an aspiring devotee, learn to appreciate and enjoy Harinam. In Kaliyuga, nothing is perfectly pure and confusion reigns in this Age of Quarrel and Hypocrisy. There is no other way than to take complete shelter in the Holy Names! HARIBOL! ------------------ Radhe Radhe always Radhe! amanpeter@hotmail.com

    ISLAM IS DEAD

Chanting and dancing like madmen! Fused together in sreet HARINAM! Spontaneous rushing rapids Drown us in that River of Love, Where giving and receiving are one. Who will not be swept away By Mahaprabhu's Supreme Mercy? Chanting, dancing, distributing prasadam That's what we all want to see and do! When did we allow collecting and manipulative preaching To tear us apart and alienate us from those we must become one with...? . . All glories to Sri Krsna Harinam SANKIRTAN! ------------------ Radhe Radhe always Radhe! amanpeter@hotmail.com [This message has been edited by valaya (edited 01-11-2002).]
  19. All are devotees! All are vaisnavas! As the least of all We are servant to all! One who cannot See God and guru In all Does not see God and guru At all... ------------------ Radhe Radhe always Radhe! amanpeter@hotmail.com
  20. There is a similar Buddhist boddhisatva (spelling?) vow that asks for all others to be saved first, or something to that effect. Goes to show we can never really tell who is praying what, let alone their motivation... ------------------ Radhe Radhe always Radhe! amanpeter@hotmail.com
  21. Guess that makes the star Radha--hey, I knew it all along!
  22. Guess that makes the star Radha--hey, I knew it all along!
  23. Best to alternate between hot and cold to stimulate the circulation! Loofah sponge is also highly recommended. Finishing with the water as cold as possible helps clear phlegm (spelling?), too. BTW I prefer lukewarm from start to finish--keeps my chanting more steady! valaya
  24. "The svarupa-sakti, or internal potency of Krsna, which is spiritual, functioning as His own personal power, has manifested His pastimes of Goloka. By Her grace individual souls who are constituents of the marginal potency can have admission into even those pastimes." (Sri Brahma-Samhita, purport to text 6) ------------------ Radhe Radhe always Radhe! amanpeter@hotmail.com [This message has been edited by valaya (edited 01-11-2002).]
  25. Seems the U.S. military is hard at work developing a massive stinkbomb for crowd control. KAPUEE! No word yet on whether BB is involved...
