  2. Exuse, this is purpos material life.
  3. For living need take diksa. But if "living guru" teach not for line founder-acarya, then needs search nice siksa guru in this line. Go for diksa guru and speak - "May dear guru maharaja, I want to obtain lectures in this place. if you please give your blessings to me." If your to guru true, it not is against. Diksa guru are introduced us into the spiritual life and into the spiritual relations. But shiksha guru face up(?) to these relations.
  4. Gaudiya it is vipralambha rasa. Uttama guru teach this. Srimati Radhika's emotions soo excellent, then Lord Krisna take this Radha's emotion and expand this boundless.
  5. ***I am always surprised by one thing which I've encountered many times and that is there are people who don't believe in God at all, but who follow the philosophy of being good to everyone and seeing everyone with equal vision and having compassion for the poor etc. For animals? The question is Why this contradiction occurs i.e., why does the person not believe in God even though he has all the qualities of being a devotee???? It is not nice behaviour. Nice behaviour it is attempt do devotee devotee Lord.
  6. "One who is inquisitive to understand the highest goal and benefit of life must approach a bona fide spiritual master and surrender unto him." A serious disciple must be alert when selecting a bona fide spiritual master. He must be sure that the spiritual master can deliver all the transcendental necessities. The spiritual master must observe how inquisitive the disciple is and how eager he is to understand the transcendental subject matter. The spiritual master should study the disciple's inquisitiveness for no less than six months or a year. A spiritual master should not be very anxious to accept a disciple because of his material opulences. Sometimes a big businessman or landlord may approach a spiritual master for initiation. Those who are materially interested are called visayis (karmis), which indicates that they are very fond of sense gratification. Such viсayis sometimes approach a famous guru and ask to become a disciple just as a matter of fashion. Sometimes viсayis pose as disciples of a reputed spiritual master just to cover their activities and advertise themselves as advanced in spiritual knowledge. In other words, they want to attain material success. A spiritual master must be very careful in this regard. Such business is going on all over the world. The spiritual master does not accept a materially opulent disciple just to advertise the fact that he has such a big disciple. He knows that by associating with such visayi disciples, HE MAY FALL DOWN. Madhya 24/330 Brahma, as the supermost brahmana, is afraid of such a falldown, and therefore he prays to the Lord for protection. This is a warning for one and all in the spiritual advancement of life. Unless one is sufficiently protected by the Lord, he may fall down from his spiritual position SB 3/9/24 Prabhupada: Yes. Just like this example that personalities like Brahma and Siva, they also sometimes become victims of maya. So our, I mean to say, potency of falling down is always there, potency. And because we are part and parcel of God and because we are now in the material world, it is to be understood that we have fallen down. But you cannot trace out the history when you have fallen down. That is impossible. But our position is marginal. At any moment, we can fall down. That tendency is there. Therefore we are called marginal. BG dec19/68 Lord Brahma's being captivated by the charms of his daughter and Lord Siva's being captivated by the Mohini form of the Lord are specific instances which instruct us that even great demigods like Brahma and Lord Siva, what to speak of the ordinary conditioned soul, are captivated by the beauty of woman. SB 3/31/36 "Following Mohini, Lord Siva went everywhere—near the shores of the rivers and lakes, near the mountains, near the forests, near the gardens, and wherever there lived great sages." PURPORT Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura remarks that Mohini-murti dragged Lord Siva to so many places, especially to where the great sages lived, to instruct the sages that their Lord Siva had become mad for a beautiful woman. Thus although they were all great sages and saintly persons, they should not think themselves free, but should remain extremely cautious about beautiful women. No one should think himself liberated in the presence of a beautiful woman. "The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: O best of the demigods, although you have been amply harassed because of My potency in assuming the form of a woman, you are established in your position. Therefore, may all good fortune be upon you." PURPORT Since Lord Siva is the best of the demigods, he is the best of all devotees (vaiслavдnда yathд зambhuщ). His exemplary character was therefore praised by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who gave His benediction by saying, "May all good fortune be upon you." When a devotee becomes a little proud, the Supreme Lord sometimes exhibits His supreme power to dissipate the devotee's misunderstanding. After being amply harassed by Lord Viслu's potency, Lord Siva resumed his normal, unagitated condition. This is the position of a devotee. A devotee should not be agitated under any circumstances, even in the worst reverses. As confirmed in Bhagavad-gita (6.22), yasmin sthito na duщkhena guruлдpi vicдlyate: because of his full faith in the Supreme Personality of Godhead, a devotee is never agitated, even in the greatest trials. This pridelessness is possible only for the first-class devotees, of whom Lord Sambhu is one. "Lord Siva said: O Goddess, you have now seen the illusory energy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is the unborn master of everyone. Although I am one of the principal expansions of His Lordship, even I was illusioned by His energy. What then is to be said of others, who are fully dependent on maya?" SB 8.12.44 When to reject a guru. "If by some misfortune the spiritual master falls into bad association, he may gradually lose his spiritual realization and potency. At the time the disciple accepted him, the guru was exalted, famous and greatly realized. But offenses against the holy name are so dangerous that even a highly qualified soul becomes bewildered. In that condition he comes to detest Vaisnava company and the chanting of the holy name. Gradually, he is enslaved by lust, greed, wealth and women. If by the mercy of Lord Krsna the disciple sees through all this, he must reject that guru, seek out a pure devotee and under his spiritual guidence cultivate the pure chanting of the holy name. SBT Harinama Cintamani "The founder-acarya of the sampradaya is the principal siksa guru for the entire disciplic succession. Speculations that contradict his teachings are to be immediately rejected. Only a saintly devotee who has understood the teachings of the principal siksa guru is eligible to be a diksa guru for others. If one thinks that he can be initiated by an unauthorized guru or a Mayavadi into these teachings, he errs severely. He will never attain Krsna consciousness. Harinama Cintamani One should accept only a pure devotee as his spiritual He who imparts wrong teachings and he who receives them are both destined for hell. One who has accepted teachings and conclusions outside the line of pure bhakti has wasted his life. How then can such a person become a spiritual master? How can he save other conditioned souls? He himself is in illusion and is therefore imperfect, so how can he bring good fortune to others? One must understand that a pure devotee is not an ordinary soul. The scriptures declare that only he is eligible to be worshipped as the spiritual master. Harinama Cintamani A kanistha-adhikari guru, one who is simply attached to performing religious ceremonies and worshiping the Deity, without appreciation for other Vaisnavas, especially those who are preaching the message of the Lord, will especially appeal to persons interested in the dry cultivation of knowledge. As a living entity develops mundane piety, he proudly devotes himself to regulated work and nobly tries to detach himself from the fruits of his work. Through such regulated detached work, knowledge or wisdom gradually arises. As knowledge or wisdom becomes prominent, the pious materialist becomes attracted to altruistic and charitable work and gives up gross sinful activities. If he is fortunate, he then becomes favorable to the transcendental devotional service of the Lord. Desiring a mere intellectual understanding of devotional service, such a pious materialist may seek shelter at the feet of a kanistha-adhikari. If able to advance to the madhyama qualification, he then becomes attracted to a Vaisnava actively engaged in preaching Krsna consciousness. SB ******************************** "Generally the spiritual master comes from the group of such eternal associates of the Lord; but anyone who follows the principles of such ever liberated persons is as good as one in the above mentioned group." Srila Prabhupada 750406CC.MAY Lectures And to become acarya is not very difficult. First of all, to become very faithful servant of your acarya, follow strictly what he says. Try to please him and spread Krsna consciousness. That's all. It is not at all difficult. Try to follow the instruction of your Guru Maharaja and spread Krsna consciousness. That is the order of Lord Caitanya. "By following My order, you become guru." And if we strictly follow the acarya system and try our best to spread the instruction of Krsna... Simply repeat what is said by Krsna, then you become acarya. But you should understand the meaning also; otherwise how you can explain? So, we want to spread Krsna consciousness. Simply prepare yourself how to repeat Krsna's instructions very nicely, without any malinterpretation. Then, in future... Suppose you have got now ten thousand. We shall expand to hundred thousand. That is required. Then hundred thousand to million, and million to ten million. So there will be no scarcity of acarya, and people will understand Krsna consciousness very easily. So make that organization. Don't be falsely puffed up. Follow the acarya's instruction and try to make yourself perfect, mature. Then it will be very easy to fight out maya. Yes. Acaryas, they declare war against maya's activities. 680817VP.MON Lectures Spiritual master is not a new invention. It is simply following the orders of the spiritual master. So all my students present here who are feeling so much obliged... I am also obliged to them because they are helping me in this missionary work. At the same time, I shall request them all to become spiritual master. Every one of you should be spiritual master next. And what is their duty? Whatever you are hearing from me, whatever you are learning from me, you have to distribute the same in toto without any addition or alteration. Then all of you become the spiritual master. That is the science of becoming spiritual master. To become a spiritual master is not very wonderful thing. Simply one has to become sincere soul. That's all. When a neophyte devotee is actually initiated and engaged in devotional service by the orders of the spiritual master, he should be accepted immediately as a bona fide Vaisnava, and obeisances should be offered unto him. OUT OF MANY such Vaisnavas, ONE MAY BE found to be very seriously engaged in the service of the Lord and strictly following all the regulative principles, chanting the prescribed number of rounds on japa beads and always thinking of how to expand the Krsna consciousness movement. Such a Vaisnava should be accepted as an uttama-adhikari, a highly advanced devotee, and his association should always be sought. ...To be the messenger of the king is practically as good as to be the king, so the king is the most exalted position. I act like a king because no one can defeat me, and similarly, you should take your responsibility very, very seriously as being the representative of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu, Who is God Himself, and always remember that you are one of the few men I have appointed to carry on my work throughout the world and your mission before you is huge. Therefore, always pray to Krishna to give you strength for accomplishing this mission by doing what I am doing. My first business is to give the devotees the proper knowledge and engage them in devotional service, so that is not very difficult task for you, I have given you everything, so read and speak from the books and so many new lights will come out. We have got so many books, so if we go on preaching from them for the next 1,000 years, there is enough stock. Just like we have spent one day discussing one sloka, so you introduce this system in all of the temples, and very quickly the devotees will make spiritual progress by getting knowledge. "By the spell of illusion one tries to be happy by serving his personal sense gratification in different forms which will never make him happy. Instead of satisfying his own personal material senses, he has to satisfy the senses of the Lord. That is the highest perfection of life. The Lord wants this, and He demands it. One has to understand this central point of Bhagavad-gita. Our Krsna consciousness movement is teaching the whole world this central point, and because we are not polluting the theme of Bhagavad-gita As It Is, anyone seriously interested in deriving benefit by studying the Bhagavad-gita must take help from the Krsna consciousness movement for practical understanding of Bhagavad-gita under the direct guidance of the Lord. We hope, therefore, that people will derive the greatest benefit by studying Bhagavad-gita As It Is as we have presented it here, and IF EVEN ONE MAN becomes a pure devotee of the Lord, we shall consider our attempt a success." A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami 12 May, 1971 Sydney, Australia ************************ Because of one's attachment to one's temporary body and so-called home, family, friends and so on, one's intelligence is always disturbed by fear, and one is unable to appreciate or practice pure devotional service to the Supreme Lord. So-called religious activities executed in the bodily conception of life are always accompanied by fear and anxiety about the ultimate result. But pure devotional service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead frees one from fear and anxiety because it is executed on the platform of Vaikuntha, or the spiritual plane, where there is no fear or anxiety. According to Srila Jiva Gosvami, the process of bhakti-yoga is so powerful that even in the stage of sadhana-bhakti, in which one is practicing devotional service through rules and regulations, the neophyte can have a direct experience of fearlessness by the mercy of the Lord. As one's devotional service becomes mature, the Lord reveals Himself to the devotee, and all fear is totally vanquished forever. The pure devotees of the Lord can reveal the spiritual world by their transcendental sound vibration, making it possible for even a neophyte devotee to experience the Lord's abode. Being thus enlivened, the neophyte makes further progress and gradually becomes qualified to personally serve the Personality of Godhead in the spiritual world. By constantly associating with devotees and learning from them about devotional science, one quickly achieves a deep attachment for the Lord and the Lord’s service, and such attachment gradually matures into pure love of Godhead. A neophyte disciple begins by hearing and chanting, associating with devotees and practicing the regulative principles, and thus he vanquishes all of his unwanted bad habits. In this way he develops attachment for Krsna and cannot forget Krsna even for a moment. Bhava is almost the successful stage of spiritual life. A sincere student aurally receives the holy name from the spiritual master, and after being initiated he follows the regulative principles given by the spiritual master. When the holy name is properly served in this way, automatically the spiritual nature of the holy name spreads; in other words, the devotee becomes qualified in offenselessly chanting the holy name. When one is completely fit to chant the holy name in this way, he is eligible to make disciples all over the world, and he actually becomes jagad-guru. When one associates with a pure devotee, he becomes so elevated that he does not aspire even for sarsti, sarupya, samipya or salokya, because he feels that such liberation is a kind of sense gratification. Pure devotees do not ask anything from the Lord for their personal benefit. Even if offered personal benefits, pure devotees do not accept them, because their only desire is to satisfy the Supreme Personality of Godhead by transcendental loving service. No one but the Lord Himself can teach this highest form of devotional service. Therefore, when the Lord took the place of the incarnation of Kali-yuga to spread the glories of chanting Hare Krsna—the system of worship recommended in this age—He also distributed the process of devotional service performed on the platform of transcendental spontaneous love. To teach the highest principles of spiritual life, the Lord Himself appeared as a devotee in the form of Lord Caitanya. "Let me repeatedly offer my respectful obeisances unto the beelike devotees who always taste the honey of the lotus feet of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu. If even a doggish nondevotee somehow takes shelter of such devotees, he enjoys the aroma of the lotus flower." PURPORT The example of a dog is very significant in this connection. A dog naturally does not become a devotee at any time, but still it is sometimes found that a dog of a devotee gradually becomes a devotee also. We have actually seen that a dog has no respect even for the tulasi plant. Indeed, a dog is especially inclined to pass urine on the tulasi plant. Therefore the dog is the number one nondevotee. But Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu's sankirtana movement is so strong that even a doglike nondevotee can gradually become a devotee by the association of a devotee of Lord Caitanya. "Samah sarvesu bhutesu. When one is qualified in that way, then mad-bhaktim labhate param. Lord Krsna says "Then he becomes eligible for becoming a pure devotee of Krsna." So practically this process, under regulative principles, is not very easy, especially in this age. One, if one becomes devotee of God, automatically all good qualities will come. That is the test. How one has become devotee of God, it will be tested that he is qualified with all good qualities. You cannot find fault with him. That is God consciousness. A God conscious person having a bad character, it is incompatible. It is not possible. A God conscious person must be a very good man.

  9. The spiritual master who first gives information about spiritual life is called the vartma-pradarзaka-guru, the spiritual master who initiates according to the regulations of the здstras is called the dйkсд-guru, and the spiritual master who gives instructions for elevation is called the зikсд-guru. Factually the qualifications of a spiritual master depend on his knowledge of the science of Kеслa. It does not matter whether he is a brдhmaлa, kсatriya, sannyдsй or зьdra “On the path of regulative devotional service, one must observe the following items: (1) One must accept a bona fide spiritual master. (2) Accept initiation from him. (3) Serve him. (4) Receive instructions from the spiritual master and make inquiries in order to learn devotional service. (5) Follow in the footsteps of the previous дcдryas and follow the directions given by the spiritual master. ...If one actually wants to serve Kеслa, it doesn’t matter whether one is a зьdra, vaiзya, or even a woman. If one is sincerely eager to chant the Hare Kеслa mantra or dйkсд-mantra, he is qualified to be initiated according to the pдпcarдtrika process. ...Otherwise, deathlessness begins from the day of initiation. Дdau gurvдзrayam. As soon as you take shelter of a bona fide spiritual master, your point of deathlessness begins immediately. Immediately. And if you continue the advice and instruction of the spiritual master, or the здstra, then you become deathless. ...Dakсiлa means in charity. Just like you give dakсiлa to your spiritual master for initiation, similarly, here also, it is said, здradvataа guruа kеtvд. Everything must be executed under the guidance of a guru, not whimsically, “Oh, I have got my own idea, I have got my own God. I can do whatever I like.” This is simply waste of time. Father, mother, you can get anywhere. It doesn’t matter. But you cannot get Kеслa and guru. That you can get in this birth. Therefore twice-born. You must get another birth, through the initiation of the spiritual master, dйkсд. Dйkсд means initiation. Di means divya jпдnam, and kсa means kсapayati. From the day of initiation, you simply get spiritual knowledge, transcendental knowledge. Madhudviсa: Prabhupдda, who was the spiritual master of Lord Зrй Kеслa? Prabhupдda: Gargamuni. His name is Gargamuni. Gargamuni, and there is another, Sдndйpani Muni. They are sages, Sдndйpani Muni. Kеслa is spiritual master of His spiritual master, but just to teach us, He also accepts a spiritual master. Madhudviсa: Yes. But is he receiving a good interpretation from his disciplic succession or his bishop? Because there seems to be some kind of a discrepancy in the interpretation of the Bible. There’s many different sects of Christianity that interpret the Bible in different ways. Prabhupдda: Of course, there cannot be any interpretation in the Bible. Then there is no authority of Bible. If you interpret something... Just like “Call a spade a spade.” So if you call something else, that is a different thing. He’s not spiritual master. Just like this is watch. Everybody has called it watch, and if I call it spectacle, then what is the value of my being spiritual master? I’m misleading. (laughter) It is watch, that I must say. So when there is misinterpretation, he’s not a bona fide spiritual master. He’s not spiritual master, what is called a bona fide. If I want to teach you how to see this watch, I can say that “This is called watch and this is called hand and this is called time indication; this is, this called...,” so that is nice. And if I say that “Everybody says it is watch. I say it is spectacle,” then what kind of a spiritual master I am? Reject him immediately. That intelligence you must have, who is a pseudo spiritual master or real spiritual master. Otherwise you’ll be cheated. And that is being done.
  10. Paлтita Jagadдnanda, the sixth branch of the Caitanya tree, was celebrated as the life and soul of the Lord. He is known to have been an incarnation of Satyabhдmд [one of the chief queens of Lord Kеслa]. PURPORT There are many dealings of Jagadдnanda Paлтita with Lord Зrй Caitanya Mahдprabhu. Most importantly, he was the Lord’s constant companion and especially took part in all the pastimes of the Lord in the houses of Зrйvдsa Paлтita and Candraзekhara Дcдrya. All glories to Jagadдnanda Paлтita! He is so favored by Зrй Caitanya Mahдprabhu that anyone who meets him thinks, “Now I have gotten the association of Зrй Caitanya Mahдprabhu directly.” Jagadдnanda Paлтita stayed at Зivдnanda Sena’s house for some time, and they prepared about sixteen seers of scented sandalwood oil. They filled a large earthen pot with the aromatic oil, and with great care Jagadдnanda Paлтita brought it to Nйlдcala, Jagannдtha Purй. This oil was placed in the care of Govinda, and Jagadдnanda requested him, “Please rub this oil on the body of the Lord.” Govinda therefore told Зrй Caitanya Mahдprabhu, “Jagadдnanda Paлтita has brought some scented sandalwood oil. Antya 12.106 The Lord replied, “A sannyдsй has no use for oil, especially perfumed oil such as this. Take it out immediately.” “Deliver this oil to the temple of Jagannдtha, where it may be burned in the lamps. In this way, Jagadдnanda’s labor to manufacture the oil will be perfectly successful.” When Govinda informed Jagadдnanda Paлтita of this message, Jagadдnanda remained silent, not saying even a word. When ten days had passed, Govinda again told Зrй Caitanya Mahдprabhu, “It is the desire of Jagadдnanda Paлтita that Your Lordship accept the oil.” When the Lord heard this, He angrily said, “Why not keep a masseur to massage Me? “Have I taken sannyдsa for such happiness? Accepting this oil would bring My ruination, and all of you would laugh. Hearing these words of Зrй Caitanya Mahдprabhu, Govinda remained silent. The next morning, Jagadдnanda went to see the Lord. Antya 12.116 Зrй Caitanya Mahдprabhu said to Jagadдnanda Paлтita, “My dear Paлтita, you have brought Me some oil from Bengal, but since I am in the renounced order, I cannot accept it. “Deliver the oil to the temple of Jagannдtha so that it may be burned in the lamps. Thus your labor in preparing the oil will be fruitful.” Antya 12.118 Jagadдnanda Paлтita replied, “Who tells You all these false stories? I never brought any oil from Bengal.” After saying this, Jagadдnanda Paлтita took the jug of oil from the room and threw it down before Зrй Caitanya Mahдprabhu in the courtyard and broke it. After breaking the jug, Jagadдnanda Paлтita returned to his residence, bolted the door and lay down. Three days later, Зrй Caitanya Mahдprabhu went to the door of his room and said, “My dear Jagadдnanda Paлтita, please get up. Antya 12.122 “I want you personally to cook My lunch today. I am going now to see the Lord in the temple. I shall return at noon.” Antya 12.123 After Зrй Caitanya Mahдprabhu said this and left, Jagadдnanda Paлтita got up from his bed, bathed, and began to cook varieties of vegetables. In great happiness, Зrй Caitanya Mahдprabhu then accepted the lunch. When He had tasted the vegetables, He again began to speak. “Even when you cook in an angry mood,” He said, “the food is very tasteful. This shows how pleased Kеслa is with you.
  11. 340. "Clothed only by the four directions, Siva serves Lord Krsna's feet. Goddess Laksme very respectfully serves Lord Krsna's feet. 341. "Ananta Sesa chants the glories of Lord Krsna's feet. Placing a straw between your teeth, you should also worship Lord Krsna's feet. 342. "As long as there is life within your bodies, you should engage in devotional service to Lord Krsna's lotus feet. 343. "Krsna is your mother. Krsna is your father. Krsna is your life and your wealth. Therefore I say you should grasp Lord Krsna's feet and declare, 'To Lord Krsna I give my body and my thoughts'." 344. Accepting the role of His servant, the Lord described His own glories. Six hours passed. Still He did not stop. 345. Enthralled, the students listened with a single heart. No one spoke a word. 347. After some moments Lord Caitanya returned to external consciousness. Embarrassed at heart, He looked at the faces of them all. 348. The Lord asked, "How did I explain the sutras about verbal roots?" The students replied, "You gave the right explanation. 353. "Your explanations of the sutras and commentaries spoke of Lord Krsna only. Who has the power to understand Your explanations? 354. "When You heard about devotional service You acted in such a way that we do not think You are a mere human being." 355. The Lord asked, "What did You see Me do?" The students replied, "It was a great wonder. 357. "Yesterday, when in the town You were lecturing on books, a brahmana read a verse aloud. 358. "Hearing this verse of Srimad-Bhagavatam, You at once fell unconscious. There was no life in any of Your limbs. We were very surprised. 362. "Gazing at You, everyone was filled with wonder. Everyone said, 'This person must be Lord Narayana Himself.' 363. "Someone said, 'He must be Vyasa, or Sukadeva, or Narada, or Prahlada. He has the Lord's mercy as much as they.' * * * 396. Bowing down, I offer respectful obeisances to the feet of these students. They were very fortunate to have been Lord Caitanya's students. 399. I am a sinner. That is why I was not born then. I was cheated of the sight of these blissful pastimes. 400. O Supreme Lord, please be merciful and allow Your pastimes of scholarship to stay always in my heart. * * * 403. In this way the Lord's pastimes of scholarship came to an end. Then His pastimes of saikirtana began. 404. In the four directs were weeping students, tears gliding down their necks. The merciful Lord then said to them, 405. "What you have heard and read for many days now make perfect by chanting the holy names of Lord Krsna." 406. The students replied, "How shall we chant the holy names of the Lord?" Then Sace's son gave them this instruction: 407. (hare) haraye namau Krsna yadavaya namah gopala govinda rama sri-madhusudana " (Hari!) I offer my respectful obeisances to Lord Hari. I offer my respectful obeisances to Lord Krsna, the descendent of King Yadu. O Gopala! O Govinda! O Rama! O Cre Madhusudana!" 408. In this way He showed them the right direction. Clapping His hands, the Lord chanted His own holy names with His students. 409. The four directions around Him filled with His students, the master of kirtana chanted His own holy names. 410. The Lord entered a spiritual trance. Tasting the nectar of His own holy names, He rolled about on the ground. He became covered with dust. 411. "Chant! Chant!", the Lord called in the four directions. Again and again the Lord fell to the ground. The earth burst apart. 412. Hearing the tumult, all of Nadeya ran to the Lord's home. 413. Hearing the kirtana, all who lived in neighboring Vaineava homes ran to that place. 414. Seeing the Lord's ecstatic trance, the Vaineavas felt great wonder in their hearts. 415. They all felt great happiness in their hearts. They said, "Now there is a great kirtana in the towns of Nadeya. 416. "Is it possible that this kind of rare and exalted devotional service has come to this world? Our eyes have become fruitful to see this exalted devotional service! 417. "Vicvambhara was the pinnacle of arrogance. Now we see He has attained a spiritual love even Narada cannot attain. 218. "Haribol!", Lord Caitanya roared, filling the four directions. Then the Lord fell to the ground. No one could hold Him still. 219. The Lord manifested fear, laughter, trembling, perspiring, roaring, and standing up of the body's hairs. He manifested all the symptoms of ecstasy simultaneously. 220. Seeing these wonders, the devotees happily sang the holy names. Nothing checked the Lord's ecstasy. 222. Day and night, in this way Sace's sun always chanted the holy names in His home. 223. In this way Lord Caitanya began the sankirtana movement. Seeing this, the devotees found that their sufferings perished. 224. Sace's son roared, "Haribol!" In home after home, the materialists and offenders woke up. 225. Their happy sleep broken, the materialists became angry. They felt frustrated. 226. Someone said, "What kind of madness has come over these people?" Someone else said, "We cannot even sleep at night!" [eat, sex and ets] 227. Someone else said, "All this screaming will anger God. Then all these people will perish." 229. Someone else said, "What are they singing about? Who knows? This is a conspiracy planned by the brahmana Srivasa. 232. Someone else said, "O my brothers, Srivasa has gone mad. He will ruin the whole country. 233. "Today I heard in the royal court that the king ordered tow boats to come here. 234. "They will arrest anyone they hear singing the holy names in Nadeya. That was the king's order. 235. "Srivasa Pandita will then run away and allof us will be destroyed. 236. "I already told you, 'Throw Srivasa's house into the Ganga!' 237. "You thought I was only joking. Now you will see how we are all destroyed." * * * 245. Lord Caitanya, more handsome than Kamadeva and with no rival anywhere in the three worlds, fearlessly walked about. 248. His garments were splendid. Betelnuts were on His lips. He happily walked by the Gaiga's bank. 249. When pious people saw Him they became happy. When materialists and offenders saw Him, they became morose. 250. Someone said, "He must have heard of the danger. Still He has no fear. He walks about town as if He were a prince." 251. Someone else said, "O my brother, I know what is happening. What you see is all a trick to escape." 252. Lord Caitanya fearlessly looked in the four directions. He looked at the Ganga's beauty and the riverbank's beauty. 253. Walking by the riverbank, He saw a herd of cows. They were mooing and drinking water. 254. With raised tails some ran in the four directions. Some fought. Some napped. Some drank water. 255. Seeing them, the Lord began to roar. "I am He! I am He!", He shouted again and again. 256. In this way He ran to Srivasa's house. "Srivasa, what are you doing now?", the Lord bellowed. 257. Within his home, Srivasa was worshiping Lord Nrsinha. Pounding again and again, Lord Caitanya broke the door open. 258. "Whom do you worship? On whom do you meditate? Look! The person you worship has come!", He roared. 259. Srivasa saw a form like blazing fire, Then his meditation broke. He looked in the four directions. 260. He saw Lord Caitanya sitting in a asana yoga posture. Lord Caitanya had four arms. He held a conchshell, cakra, club, and lotus. 261. He roared like a maddened lion. Slapping the palm of His hand against His left shoulder, He made a great sound. 262. Seeing all this, Crevasa trembled. Then he bnecame stunned. He did not move. 263. The Lord roared, "O Srivasa! For so many days you did not know My true identity? 267. Gazing at the Lord, Srivasa wept tears of love. The fears in his heart died. Now He was confident. 268. His whole body was filled with joy. He offered dandavat obeisances. Then, folding his hands, he recited prayers. 269. By his nature, Srivasa Pandita was a great devotee of the Lord. He accepted the Lord's order. By the Lord's desire, he recited prayers. 270. He began his prayers by quoting a verse from Srimad-Bhagavatam "Let me offer my respectful repeated obeisances unto the son of Maharaja Nanda, who is standing before me with conchshell, earrings, and a peacock feather on His head. His face is beautiful. He is wearing a helmet, garlanded with forest flowers, and He stands with a morsel of food in His hand. He is decorated with cane and bugle, and He carries a buffalo-horn and flute. He stands before me with small lotus feet." 272. Then Srivasa said, "I offer my respectful obeisances unto the feet of Lord Visvambhara. He is dark like a monsoon cloud. He wears yellow garments. 273. "I offer my respectful obeisances to the feet of Sace's son. He is decorated with a peacock feather and a necklace of new guija. 275. "I offer my respectful obeisances to the feet of Jagannatha Misra's son. His face and form are more glorious than millions of moons. 277. "You are the same person the four Vedas call, 'the son of Maharaja Nanda'. O Lord, I offer my respectful obeisances to Your feet. 295. Smiling, the Lord heard Srivasa's prayers. Then the merciful Lord said to Srivasa, 297. "You ... may ask a boon, whatever you desire in your heart." 303. Unseen, the Lord touched the heads of all. Smiling, He said, "May your thoughts always rest in Me." 305. He said, "I hear that the king's boats have come to capture you. 306. "I control the many spirit souls who reside in the countless material universes. I push them to action. 307. "Only if I, residing the king's body, give him the order will the king say that you should be captured. 308. "If I do not give him the order, but he acts independently, then I will look for something else. 309. "I will be the first to go on the boat. There I will approach the king. 310. "Will the king remain on his throne after he sees Me? I will bewilder him and bring him down from his throne. 311. "If he does not become bewildered, then he may ask Me questions. Please hear My plan. I will describe it. 312. "I will say, 'Listen. Listen, O king. Please learn what is true and what is false. Please assemble all the mullahs and kazis. 313. " 'O king, please bring all the elephants, horses, animals, and birds to your court. 314. " 'Order all the kazis to read aloud from your scriptures and inspire everyone to weep.' 315. "If they have no power to do that, then I will reveal Myself to the king. 316. " I will tell him, 'On the word of these men you have forbidden saikertana. You have seen the little power they possess. 317. " 'With your own eyes you will see My power.' Then I will capture a mad elephant and bring it here. 318. "I will bring many elephants, horses, animals, and birds. I will make them chant 'Krsna!' and I will make them weep. 319. "Then I will make the king and his followers also chant 'Krsna!', and I will make them weep also. 320. "If in your heart you don't believe Me, then I will show you. You will see with your own eyes." 321. The Lord saw Srivasa's young niece, who was named Narayani. 323. Then Lord Caitanyacandra, who is the Supersoul in all living beings, gave this order: "Narayani! Chant 'Krsna!' and weep." 324. Then four-year old Narayaee acted with wild abandon. She called out, "O Krsna!" and she wept. She was not aware of the external world. 325. Streams of tears flowed over her limbs and fell to the ground. Her eyes were filled with tears. 330. When he had spoken these words, Srivasa Pandita and his associates entered an ecstatic trance. There they saw the Lord's form. 331. Srivasa and his servants and maidservants gazed at the Lord's form, a form even the four Vedas yearn to see. 332. How will I describe the glorious activities of Srivasa, the dust of whose feet purifies the world? 333-334. As Lord Krsna appeared in Vasudeva's home, but enjoyed pastimes in Nanda's home, so Lord Caitanya appeared in Jagannatha Misra's home, but enjoyed pastimes in Srivasa Pandita's home.
  12. 13. But for placing in the temple there must be a pair of murtis, (my Guru Maharaja must be there) as in Krsna-Balarama Mandir, and they must be permanently installed.

  16. Dhananjaya: The sands of Raman Reti where Krsna and Balarama would enjoy Their pastimes. Prabhupada: Oh. Therefore we have established Krsna-Balarama temple. Dhananjaya: The sands are very fine and soft here. Prabhupada: Sands are always soft.
  17. ****"When will my mind be cleansed of all material dirt so that I will be able to feel the presence of spiritual Vrndavana?" It is spiritual mood. It prema, it not neophits prayer. I that not correctly I do write? Insults?
  18. "So this Krsna consciousness movement, it is the desire of Krsna that these people who have no information practically about Bhagavan, so they should learn something from this Krsna consciousness movement. And therefore we have published so many nice books. It is the desire of Krsna they should read these books and try to understand the Krsna philosophy, the science of Krsna, the science of God. Then their life will be perfect. "Sadacara, these are the Sadacara: to rise early in the morning, to take bath, attend maмgala-дrдtrika, and chant Hare Krsna mantra, read books, Vedic literature, and then prasдdam—always some prescribed duty for Krsna consciousness. That is called Sadacara. "We are reading Bhagavatam or Bhagavad-gita. That is also Isa. BIsause these are the words of Isa, therefore, Isa being absolute, there is no difference between His words and Him. Krsna, five thousand years ago He spoke Bhagavad-gita. That Bhagavad-gita is the same Bhagavad-gita which He spoke five thousand years ago, and it is not different from Krsna bIsause Krsna is absolute. Whatever, His words, His form, His name, His quality, everything, His temple, His activities, His books—everything Isa. At that time Caitanya Mahaprabhu was staying at Varanasi. So he met Him there. And after his becoming a Vaisnava, dressed in Vaisnava, then Caitanya Mahaprabhu instructed him for two months continually just to enliven him in the matter of devotional service and write books so that in future the followers of Caitanya cult may take guide and be advanced in spiritual consciousness. So those who have joined this Krsna consciousness movement, my request is they follow the regulative principles, as instructed by Rupa Gosvami, with enthusiasm, read books and distribute books. And that is a very great service. I'll speak something, you may forget, but if you read from the book, you will get good opportunity to understand the philosophy. So our principle is to study the books as well as to distribute the books. People will be benefited and their life will be successful. This is Krsna consciousness movement. Some are trying to merge into the spiritual existence only, and we devotees, we want to keep individuality and want to become associate with the Supreme Personality of Godhead Krsna. So gradually you can learn it from the lectures and the books and with association with your Godbrothers and sisters. So we have to study the Vedic literature very carefully, following the footsteps of Gosvamis. Not only chanting. This is also required, kеслot-kйrtana-gдna. But this is meant, if you simply go on chanting without reading books, that is also good. Especially in this age, bIsause nobody has got power to study books. Education is very less, so still, one who is able, they should consider all this. We have given in English translation. So many important books, you study, and chant this Hare Krsna mantra like this, and that is the following the footsteps of Gosvamis. Acaryopasana. We have to worship the acaryas. That is recommended in the Bhagavad-gita, for making advancement in spiritual life, Acaryopasana. So this is Acaryopasana, by reading their books, --- "Prabhupada: Well, if that sort of remark is given it is not against the sastra, but it was not necessarily previously. His direct association... Caitanya Mahaprabhu says, sadhu sanga sadhu sanga sarva sastra kaya lava mдtra sдdhu saмge sarva siddhi haya "Even a moments association with a pure devotee—all success." Not necessarily that one has to acquire it previous, no. Generally it is so, but sadhu sanga has got its effect. Caitanya Mahaprabhu said, lavamatra sadhu sanga sarva siddhi haya. You have not read in the Sanatana-siksa in the Teachings of Lord Caitanya? Revatinandana: Does that also apply to reading the words of a pure devotee? Prabhupada: Yes. Revatinandana: Even a little association with your books has the same effect? Prabhupada: Effect, of course, it requires both the things. One must be very eager to take it. Just like Maharaja Pariksit heard SB, and there are so many others. They are also reading SB. So Maharaja Pariksit was very serious. So both things should be serious. Just like the example: the husband and wife must be potent; then there is pregnancy. Otherwise there is no pregnancy. So sewing the seed, the field also must be fertile or receptible, then the seed will fructify. It is reciprocal." ------------------------------ The beginning of service is to engage our hearing organs, and receive the transcendental message by aural reception. And whenever we are mature in receiving the transcendental message from books like Bhagavad-gita, and Srimad-Bhagavatam, via media the transparent bona fide Spiritual Master, then we are able to chant or engage our tongue in the service of the Lord, being engaged in the service of the Lord. ...and they are understanding association with the Spiritual Master is the same as association with His vani or teachings. This is a transcendental fact. Thus it is the duty of the acarya to publish books that will help future candidates take up the method of service and become eligible to return home, back to Godhead, by the mercy of the Lord. Krsna will accept a devotee who strictly follows the regulative principles and the method prescribed in the various books and literatures published by the authorities. The acarya gives the suitable method for crossing the ocean of nescience by accepting the boat of the Lords lotus feet, and if this method is strictly followed, the followers will ultimately reach the destination, by the grace of the Lord. This method is called acarya-sampradaya. It is therefore said, sampradдya-vihйnд ye mantrдs te niсphalд matдщ (Padma Purana). He never claims to have written this transcendental literature by carrying out research work. He simply admits his indebtedness to the notes taken by Svarupa Damodara, Raghunatha dasa Gosvami and other authoritative persons. This is the way of writing transcendental books, which are never meant for so-called scholars and research workers. The process is mahд-jano yena gataщ sa panthдщ: one has to strictly follow great personalities and acaryas. Дcдrya-vдn puruсo veda: one who has the favor of the acarya knows everything. This statement made by Kaviraja Gosvami is very valuable for all pure devotees. Sometimes the prakrta sahajiyas claim that they have heard the truth from their guru. But one cannot have transcendental knowledge simply by hearing from a guru who is not bona fide. The guru must be bona fide, and he must have heard from his bona fide guru. As Svarupa Damodara has said, if one wants to learn the meaning of SB, one must take lessons from a realized soul. One should not proudly think that one can understand the transcendental loving service of the Lord simply by reading books. One must become a servant of a Vaisnava. As Narottama dдsa Цhдkura has confirmed, chдтiyд vaiслava-sevд nistдra pдyeche kebд: one cannot be in a transcendental position unless one very faithfully serves a pure Vaiслava. One must accept a Vaiслava guru (дdau gurv-дзrayam), and then by questions and answers one should gradually learn what pure devotional service to Krsna is. That is called the parampara system. The devotee never thinks that he is a great bhakta. Kеsnadasa Kavirдja Gosvдmй, the author of Caitanya-caritamrta, has stated, purйсera kйцa haite muпi se laghiсцha: "I am lower than the worms in stool." (Adi 5.205) This is the Vaisnava conception. The Vaiслava says, "Krsna is God. Worship Krsna." It is not difficult to become a guru, provided that we repeat what Krsna says. Whatever Krsna states in Bhagavad-gita is dharma. Dharma is one. It cannot be different. Dharma means abiding by the orders of God. However, if we do not know God or His orders, we can only set about manufacturing some rubbish and fighting among ourselves. This is not dharma but philosophical speculation. All of this speculation and manufactured dharma has been kicked out of SB bIsause it is all cheating. If we do not cultivate knowledge, we are no better than animals. An animal may say that there is no need of books and that he has become a guru, but how can anyone obtain knowledge without the study of authoritative books on science and philosophy? Rascal gurus try to avoid these things. We must understand that we are all born rascals and fools and that we have to be enlightened. We have to receive knowledge to make our lives perfect. If we do not perfect our lives, we are defeated. What is this defeat? The struggle for existence. We are trying to obtain a better life, to attain a superior position, and for this we are struggling very hard. There are many philosophy and theology books, but people are not interested in them. That is the difficulty. For instance, the SB is a very long work, and if you try to read this book, it may take many days just to understand one line of it. The Bhagavatam describes God, the Absolute Truth, but people are not interested. And if, by chance, someone becomes a little interested in spiritual life, he wants something immediate and cheap. Therefore, he is cheated. And he has also heard from his guru. THIS IS BOTH, hearing. Therefore Vedas are known as sruti. Formerly it was learned simply by HEARING. There was no books. And there was no need of noting down. The merit was so perfect that simply by hearing from guru, he would understand everything. But in the Kali-yuga bIsause gradually we are losing the potency of our brain, therefore we require in writing books. Vyasadeva was very kind. He knew that in the Kali-yuga there will be no sharpened brain. You have to repeat only, and you become guru. Our request is that you all respectable gentlemen, you develop this center of ISKCON. We have published so many important books. They are being appreciated all over the world by scholars, by universities. You also study them, learn Krsna science, Krsna consciousness, and preach in your country. That is my request. You can make yourself perfect bIsause in the Bhдratavarсa there are this Bhagavad-gita, SB, Vedic literature. Just study them. And therefore we are publishing so many books on the basis of Bhagavad-gita and SB and people are appreciating very much all over the world. So it is the duty of every Indian to make his life perfect by understanding Bhagavad-gita at least, and spread the message. That is Caitanya Mahдprabhus mission. Yдre dekha tдre kaha kеслa-upadeзa. Every one of you can become a guru. He says that. Дmдra дjпдya guru haпд tдra’ ei deзa. Wherever you are, you can deliver the persons, surrounding persons in your neighborhood. "How can I become guru? I have no qualification." No. There is no need of qualification. Simply repeat. Yдre dekha tдre kaha kеслa-upadeзa. Very simple thing. Anyone you meet, "My dear friend, just hear little. What is that? Now, Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. You kindly think of Krsna. Just offer your obeisances to Krsna, just become a bhakta and chant His holy name." Bas. Your guru duty is finished. So it is not very difficult task. Anyone can do this. And then everyone will be benefited. And that is Krsna consciousness movement. Sudama: She wants to know actually that should they just have the chanting without reading your books or without instruction or following the program. Prabhupada: But that chanting must be pure. Your guru is writing books. If you think, "There is no necessity of reading books," that is guror avajna. Do you means to say I am writing these books whole night for selling and making money? What do you think like that? Woman Devotee: So there should just be chanting and reading of the books. Prabhupдda: Yes. That transcendental vibration... Just like we are chanting, this is one vibration. And these books are bigger vibration. This is... This, when we chant Hare Krsna mantra, a few yards, people can hear, "Here is Hare Kеслa." But this, my Guru Maharaja used to say, that "This is brhad-mrdanga.” Mrdanga, that drum, you have seen, that is small Mrdanga. If I beat on this drum, maybe a few yards, people can heard from few yards. But this is... The books are distributed, it can go from country to country, from continent to continent, actually it is so happening. So our only appeal is that all book sellers, all publishers, may come forward and cooperate with us and distribute the transcendental literature in the unique form. So this press propaganda, this literary propaganda, is required bIsause it is not sentiment. Krsna consciousness is not sentiment. It is not that some sentimental people have gathered here and dancing and chanting. No. There is background. There is philosophical background. There is theological understanding. It is NOT BLIND or sentimental. So therefore Narada advises Vyasadeva that "You are not only fortunate, but you are amogha-dеk. Your vision is perfect bIsause you are liberated." Amogha. Our vision—we are not perfect. Therefore youll find in Vedic version, anuзелuyet, anuvarлayet. Anu. Anu means following. Following. We have to follow the acaryas. Just like Vyasadeva. Amogha-dеk: his vision is without any impediment. There are four kinds of impediments for the conditioned soul. What are those? That we are subjected to commit error. So our business is not to make any research work, not to invent something, not to write voluminous books, something mental concoction. We have got everything ready, given by this, received through the parampara system. Everything, real fact, real goods, not bogus things. So we have to simply accept. Just like Caitanya Mahaprabhu says, дmдra дjпдya guru haпд tдra’ ei deзa, yдre dekha tдre kaha kеслa-upadeзa. Caitanya Mahaprabhu says that "Every one of you just become... Each and every one of you become a spiritual master under My order.Oh, so what is Your order?" Yдre dekha tдre kaha kеслa-upadeзa: "Whomever you meet, simply you say what Krsna has spoken or what about Krsna has been spoken." The Krsna has spoken the Bhagavad-gita. You simply speak about Bhagavad-gita. And this Bhдgavata is also spoken about Krsna. This is also kеслa-kathд; that is also kеслa-kathд. One is spoken directly by Krsna, and the other is spoken about Krsna. So theyre practically the same thing. So Caitanya Mahaprabhu recommends that yдre dekha tдre kaha kеслa-upadeзa: "You simply deliver the instruction of Kеслa, and you become a spiritual master." Therefore I am so much after books. If we forget our position, if we become pound-shilling man, property man, then Krsna will be finished, bIsause Krsna is akiпcana-gocara. Therefore we should always remember that we possess this nice house not for our comfort, but people will come bIsause they are not accustomed. If we would have invited people, "Come and sit down on this Mayapura ground," no, there was no possibility. Therefore we must possess Krsna's temple very nice so that people will come, and we shall preach. That is philosophy, not that bIsause we have got this nice house, therefore we should be very much attached. Attachment must be there—for Krsna's service. So the next question will be, "Then whom shall I select, guru?" Now, sabde pare ca niслдtam. A guru means one who is fully conversant in Vedic knowledge. Здbde pare. Sabda-brahman. Veda is known as sabda-brahman. In the material world all these books are material sound vibration, but Vedic knowledge is transcendental sound vibration. Hare Krsna is transcendental sound vibration. Narottama dasa Thakura says, golokera prema-dhana, hari-nama-sankirtana. This hari-nama-sankirtana is not a cinema song. No. It is golokera prema-dhana. This sound is coming... Just like we catch sound in the radios and television, similarly, you can catch sound also which is transmitted from Goloka Vrndavana. But you must have the particular machine to catch it. Then you can get message from Goloka Vrndavana. Finish this business within this life. Take help from Krsna, take help from books, take from your spiritual master. we have got spiritual master, we have got the books, Bhagavata, we have got Gita. Now let us take advantage of it. These transcendental literature, we have taken much pain to translate them into English so that you can understand. We have got fifty books. So take advantage. It is not meant for the cats and dogs. It is meant for the human being, not a particular class or nation. No. It is meant for all human being. So Krsna teaches—He is so kind—as caitya-guru, from the heart, and He sends His representative from outside. Caitya-guru and guru, both ways, Krsna is trying. Krsna is so kind. So therefore Vedas, they are not man-made books. Veda, apauruseya. Apauruseya means not made by... We should not take Vedas as ordinary mental speculation book. No. It is perfect knowledge. It is perfect knowledge. And one has to take as it is, without any adulteration, interpretation. So it is spoken by God. Therefore Bhagavad-gita is also Veda. It is spoken by Krsna. So you cannot make any addition, alteration. You must take it as it is. Then you get the right knowledge. Vedas, how... The example is given. Perhaps you know several times that the Vedas, how it should be accepted as it is without interpretation. Now he's describing what is Krsna consciousness, how to practice it. The practice is, the first thing is, Prahlada Maharaja recommends guru-зuзrьсayд. Guru-зuзrьсayд. Guru-зuзrь... means that you have to first of all select a spiritual master. Without a teacher, without guidance, nobody can make any process. ************* Madhudvisa: ...cannot become a medical practitioner by simply reading the books. He must study under a medical practitioner. So in the case of your books, is it possible to become a devotee without actually having personal association with you? Just by reading your books? Prabhupada: No, it is not that you have to associate with the author. But one who knows, if you cannot understand you have to take lesson from him. Not necessarily that you have to contact with the author always. Devotee: Just like the textbooks are not written by the teachers; they're written by other professors. Devotee: Usually you don't even meet the author. Prabhupada: Simply one who knows the subject matter, he can explain. Madhudviсa: But can your, would your purports, would that serve as explanation besides... Prabhupada: No, no, anyone who knows the subject matter, he will be able to explain. Not necessarily the author is required to be present there. (break) ...to study from a medical man, I never said you have to study from the author. Or one who understood the author's purpose. Just like we are explaining Bhagavad-gita as it is. Not that one has to learn directly from Krsna. One who has understood Krsna, from him. That is parampara system. *************** We cannot manufacture a God by our own concoctions. As stated by Narottama dasa Thakura, sadhu-sastra-guru: one has to test all spiritual matters according to the instructions of saintly persons, scriptures and the spiritual master. The spiritual master is one who follows the instructions of his predecessors, namely the sadhus, or saintly persons. A bona fide spiritual master does not mention anything not mentioned in the authorized scriptures. Ordinary people have to follow the instructions of sadhu, sastra and guru. Those statements made in the sastras and those made by the bona fide sadhu or guru cannot differ from one another. "One must accept the bona fide spiritual master and render service unto him with great devotion and faith. Whatever one has in one's possession should be offered to the spiritual master, and in the association of saintly persons and devotees one should worship the Lord, hear the glories of the Lord with faith, glorify the transcendental qualities and activities of the Lord, always meditate on the Lord's lotus feet, and worship the Deity of the Lord strictly according to the injunctions of the sastra and guru." ( SB 7.7.30-31 ) * * * "Srila Narottama dasa Thakura says, sadhu-sastra-guru-vakya, cittete kariya aikya. One should accept a thing as genuine by studying the words of saintly people, the spiritual master and sastra. The actual center is sastra, the revealed scripture. If a spiritual master does not speak according to revealed scripture, he is not to be accepted. Similarly, if a saintly person does not speak according to the sastra, he is not a saintly person. Sastra is the center for all."
  19. Yours can operate in many moods. Not in one. Spiritual life can have many moods. Pure devotee means that the operates in many moods with out mistakes. The false ego is an element of the material nature. While we were not cleared, how we shall be free from him? It simply change of the form. Too most and desire. Simply change of the form. Humility means that I repeat Hare Krisna, I read lectures or I listen to lectures, preach from a door to a door. I am restrained therefore I do not expose myself most better and I do not like when others represent me as the best. Gopala bhatta Goswami has told - " please do not mention my name in CC". This real humility, it not imitation. Not so - I have heard as all should be and now have decided to simulate. It is not necessary to simulate, simply preach and endow 50 % if you apply for humility. For whom is this cheap stuff necessary - we live for themselves, glorifying THEMSELVES as - the guru, the country, the realization, the circles and so on? If yours want to reach the top of spiritual life, follow for Prabhupada and His true followers. Other it only a preliminary statement. Games of the God are not material. If the person thinks that spiritual separation it not well she simply understands nothing. Spiritual separation this SUPREME display of internal energy. The MAXIMUM. Lord Caitanya enjoys such mood is boundless. A meeting - separation Krisna lila this one. But separation Gaura lila this another. Separation Gaura lila it separation Krisna lila increased is boundless. Separation Krisna lila enriches a meeting. But meeting Gaura lila enriches separation. That that concerns to Jaganatha Puri it is a secret theme. But those who remain in Navadvipa test the same taste. They test double separation their taste even more. Srivasa Pandit for example remained in Kumarahatta, it near to Сalcutta. You will not understand correctly others acarya with out SP. If you want to reach Krisna lila also it it is really possible to make only through mood Lord Caitanya. Madhavendra Puri has given this seed of love to the God and it has blossomed in Lord Caitanya. This seed of love has not blossomed as pure sambhoga Krisna lila is simply wrong understanding. Gosvamis were in this mood in Vrndavana. Lord Caitnya sourse Krisna lila ("The pleasure potency transforms the original Absolute Truth, Sri Krsna, into two forms"). Gosvamis describe Krisna lila for this mood. It ---GAURA lila--- why you do not want it to understand? " Separation from Krsna is better than meeting Him. When I meet Him there is only one Krsna, but when I am separated from Him the three worlds become filled with Krsnas. " Srila Rupa Gosvami These are spiritual categories, it not material life. These are spiritual separation, it is the form of the supreme ecstasy. In Krisna lila devotee operate with one image, in Gaura lila they operate with other image under plan Lord. Radha loves Krisna therefore all gopis loves Krisna. They expansion Radha? " Separation from Krsna is better than meeting Him. When I meet Him there is only one Krsna, but when I am separated from Him the three worlds become filled with Krsnas. " Srila Rupa Gosvami ******** If we envy the God we COME in a material world. If envy to other alive essences at us not so strong then we can rise on the maximum planets. On Vaikuntha the person can have a body similar to a body of the God and have unlimited riches worshipping Lord Narayana. On Vaikuntha there is no envy and sexual relations between alive essences, or they are not allocated in any way. The spiritual world is absolute. If we are caused we think that there is a difference because in a material world there is such difference. But it not a material world. In Dvaraka the person can have svakiya rasa. She has in this case not only Riches but also the God in the "property". In Vrindavana it parakiya rasa. The left wing, the right wing. But all this serves for Krisna. If spiritual envy does not dominate, the person has no personal relations and serves is disinterestedly similar manjari. Therefore manjari get the widest access. But mood Lord Caitanya is higher. " Separation from Krsna is better than meeting Him... three worlds become filled with Krsnas. "In Lord Caitanyas lila the loving exchanges reach their quintessence. " It is top of a love exchange. It is top ---MADHURYA rasa---. It not meeting-separation Krisna lila, is other spiritual aspect. To this also learns SP. Principles are necessary for this purpose, for prema bhakti. These are principles varnasrama, these are principles of spiritual life, these are principles prema bhakti. In varnasrama and on political battles principles are necessary for the statement of in the "supreme" caste. But it is principles prema bhakti and in Gaura lila they operate in both directions. If we preach if we endow 50 % or 100 % of everything if we accept the responsibility and if we try to follow principles or follow them we and shall be cleared. It is a deceit that the soul was born in a material world. The soul is eternal and always has a spiritual body. As it is wrong that your rasa depends from rasa guru. "Revatinandana: But if somebody else may become, say, a devotee of Lakсmй-Nдrдyaлa, then is it to be understood that he, then, because he has become devotee of a follower of Laskmi-Nдrдyaлa, he may come to associate with Lakсmй-Nдrдyaлa? Prabhupдda: No, no. It is not that. A devotee is not particular follower of Lakсmй-Nдrдyaлa, not of Kеслa. One who is pure devotee, he knows both the line is as perfect. He may be, a spiritual master is devotee of Rдdhд-Kеслa, but his disciple may be a devotee of Lakсmй-Nдrдyaлa. It does not hamper. It does not matter, because They are the same. Rдmдdi-mьrtiсu kalд-niyamena tiсцhan. They are all one. When we say “Kеслa,” He includes everyone—Rдma, Nдrдyaлa, Viслu, everyone..." SP acarya for all kali yuga, He acarya golden age (10 000) and up to last devotee kali yuga. Not be fools, do not follow envy. Not be materialists, do not think that relations Radha-Krisna are material. Do not think that a meeting better separation, as it on the contrary. These are spiritual emotions, it is spiritual love. At you is guru, but try to understand a difference between guru and acarya. Acarya it is eternally released person. And He should not collect knowledge on small slices. Read books SP it is real way for raganuga bhakti in mood Lord Caitanya. We only gather in an spiritual world, and acarya comes HERE from an spiritual world. Therefore do not think that you above Him. SP can release A LOT OF installed, His scope is those. Be not afraid, SP and HIS! parampara will give you the BEST. Do not doubt. But to serve SP not always it is easy, because He is great. Hare Krisna.
  20. ***the glories of Srimati Radharani are highly esteemed in all revealed scriptures Then try understand Her mood.
  21. Logic with out sraddha is speculations. Sraddha with out logic - sentiments. Perfections - perfect logic, perfect sraddha. It is perfect. It is verdict Srila Prabhupada.
  22. Money. I shall save money. I shall fold them in chests, not missing any copeck. Operating very artfully, it is better to be realed beggars, in the evenings going down in a cellar and with burning eyes to touch desired treasure. Similarly to mad, I shall collect silver, bronze and gold coins. Not losing seconds, it is necessary to save money in the form of a sacred name. With heart filled with greed, I shall collect a sacred name, worshipping him. I shall collect even a shadow of a sacred name. I shall save mechanical sing, counting up the riches of circles, but even I as shall appreciate the unique name. Even the unique sacred name shined similarly to a brilliant. And in a dark cellar I curious his light. Therefore as it is possible to not appreciate even one name? It is possible certainly to try to receive as much as possible spiritual money, this feeling is familiar to me, but in fact it is necessary as and to feel taste? Testing great rise, nevertheless it is necessary to estimate each of sacred names. Certainly to spend a sacred name for what purchase that of dim subjects it it is too reckless. I as am not so rich what to distribute a sacred name, not, not, for any requitals I shall not give anybody not a stiver. Bank. I have decided to enclose the the capital in reliable bank. Having terrified from greed and not trusting no one soul I invest all that at me is in a sacred name. I have sold the house, family and all relatives, for some syllables of a sacred name. I as have exchanged the friendship and love for a sacred name. Maliciously grinning, I look at people which think to keep the riches what that in other way. Everyone aspires to increase the material image, but current of time transforms all into sand. Having come in bank, everyone sooner or later finds out that all his riches became sand. But having deceived the whole world, I have enclosed all in a sacred name! Who that does not see value of a sacred name, filling the pockets the first class sand. O as I envy them! They are owners of the big heaps of sand! On this sand even except for one two weeds also bring up can nothing. As I am unfortunate, having exchanged sand for a sacred name! I cry day and night damning the destiny. Collection. I have decided to start to collect. The some people collect marks, the some people collect badges, but I have stopped the a choice on a sacred name. Except for that that it is valuable and is eternal, it also is beautiful. Even if to look at him from apart, it is attractive. Therefore I have decided to collect a sacred name. I have started an album of a sacred name and from time to time I thumb through him, it why that does not bother. As that is strange that one sacred name can have so much shades. As the inveterate collector I attentively consider a sacred name and sometimes even I sort him. Who that can tell what to sort a sacred name is offensive. I agree, I sort him only with the purpose to increase taste and what better to distinguish shades. We remember - the purpose of life this happiness? Certainly the happiness, therefore having started to distinguish a little, is possible to increase a little happiness for the beginning. As the real collector I as sometimes exchange the sacred names on equivalent others. Actually each skilled collector always aspires to find the best samples of a sacred name. Always it is necessary to look at authenticity of a sacred name, avoiding fakes. Certainly the sacred name, even counterfeit, too has value, nevertheless for collection it is necessary to find a little real pearls a sacred name. As it is necessary to have an accurate album with the review of classics of a sacred name and the brochure on fakes. Way to free life, freedom and unlimited to happiness (it when is a lot of money). What to live freely and happily, it is necessary to find a source of growing riches and it is reliable to enclose in the property. It is possible to enclose under interests, having transferred a part of riches in reliable hands. But as it is better to continue to work, continuously increasing cash. It is necessary to become the good usurer, at a sight defining reliability borrower and it is clear that if there is an opportunity to receive money more and more, never it is necessary to miss such opportunity, therefore it is better to continue to work. Having started the career with ordinary misers, being gradually improved and having risen on a level of the real judge of money, further it is possible to create handicraft factory and to develop him up to a level of large manufacture. Then it is possible to develop and up to a level of monopoly. Certainly the Supreme monopoly is real at each of the denominations. As this monopoly is absolute, therefore she is always shown at each stage. But those who on the real like and appreciate money him it is pleasant to save them. Still they like to not spend money. The real miser finds great satisfaction in accumulation of money. Therefore all these various forms of increase in financial expansion are very good. Total monopoly. Undoubtedly that only great judges of money and aesthetes of money can reach such level where the huge sizes of the sums are combined with grace of their investment. Undoubtedly what even the small, skilfully executed manufacture is attractive, but as far as huge monopolies are more attractive? Actually money it only an equivalent of a various sort of the property, but the real monopolist owns simultaneously the property, the unlimited property and the property of all kinds. Money it is simple reflection of limitation of a material world and the real property. The real monopolists have no money because own all without a various sort of reserves and the equivalents similar to money. The real monopolist is so rich, that can give anyone the unlimited property in eternal using. Where the real riches! Undoubtedly that we as have tried to reach such position independently. But friends, let's recognize that our efforts are vain. Having tried not once to create great monopoly we have simply got confused and confuse in that and whose all this and who to whom how many should. Therefore if who that wants to join total monopoly, they should start to develop all these spiritual qualities of greed and lust. When desire reaches the maximum point the person in this case does not try to use at all the opportunities, thinking only about increase in the capital, and an example of greed. Such greed does the person by the miser, then the monetary aesthete and later the solid capitalist. Greed. So, the solid capitalist however never thinks that owns all. How he will save further the capitals if he thinks - " I own all "? " I have reached full success "? The real capitalist owns very much much, it so, but thus he thinks - " at me almost anything is not real, I am poor. " It just also is an example of the real greed. The real capitalist owns infinite treasures, but from spiritual greed he thinks - " I the poorest ". If who that speaks - " I the richest! " - that it to put it mildly simply pride. As the real capitalist will not fill pockets a color paper, no, whether he necessarily will check up denominations are false? He will take all real denominations, never neglecting fine. Fine, average and large denominations, are not real a difference, important what they were real. The capitalist will not take a color paper never, about it cannot be and speeches. If the capitalist takes only large denominations it excuse again absence of the real greed. The real capitalist will invest in any manufacture if only it gave profit. Thus the real capitalist- 1) Collects riches continuously 2) Does not spend from it copeck 3) Appreciates all kinds of riches and is very refined expert on various kinds of riches 4) Searches for methods of increase in riches 5) Always counts itself very poor 6) Even if His capital is qualitatively identical to the capital of the Supreme monopolist, He all the same counts himself poor because He ON the real is greedy! O my God, is really enormous greed (laulyam). Service to Srila Prabhupada. Serve Srila Prabhupada it is easy, because His capitals and riches really unlimited, but to serve Him as and it is hard because what to TAKE such capitals, are necessary suitable qualities. Srila Prabhupada wants pure fidelity. As the full rerealative of the Supreme monopolist, Srila Prabhupada owns all. If the God has charged with Him to teach, Srila Prabhupada and teaches in the perfect image, He teaches as to receive all! Certainly it is possible to receive as any part of these riches. As the riches are absolute, therefore its any part as is absolute, but those who follow Srila Prabhupada can receive all or the highest mood of an spiritual world. Therefore the belief is important, the sense of that is those that Srila Prabhupada has told - " I have given you all. All" all this. "All" it not a part, not half and not 80 %. "All" it also is ALL! In it sense and Srila Prabhupada many other lectures concerning spiritual life. Srila Prabhupada has written so much many books, describing mood Lord Caitanya. He rereals all science of devoted service and conducts directly to top of all spiritual life. All His books are written from a level of pure fidelity. Shrila Prabhupada preached here somewhat one instant. Nevertheless this instant comprises eternity. It is only spiritual eternity and as eternity of mood Lord Caitanya. Srila Prabhupada does not preach other moods because in ten roubles, nine roubles as already are. If Lord Caitanya wanted to meet Radha or Krisna He would achieve it immediately. If Srila Prabhupada would like to learn all to direct relations we already for a long time would discuss what pictures decorate Radha Kunda. Anyhow all aspects of spiritual life are important and supplement each other. The unique moment will be, that if we speak about following for SRILA PRABHUPADA it is necessary to understand essence of that He teaches. Too most concerns and to perfection of spiritual life. In Srimad Bhagavatam Srila Prabhupada writes- " Even though one may be an incarnation of Krsna, or especially empowered by Him, he should not advertise that he is an incarnation. People will automatically accept the real truth in due course of time. " So can write the person who is at a level of incarnation. Any usual mortal cannot give such advice. Through any analysis and studying sastra any sadhana it is not possible to give such advice. The one who is authorized can give such advice or has such experience. Behind everyone who rereals the God there is all spiritual world. It is easier to make the Earth flat jumping on her, than to change true. The true she self-shined also is obvious. True as always confirms sastra. And true acarya except for that that in perfection knows absolute true, He as is very modest thus. Any word starting with Srila Prabhupada books are uniform. In annunciation our unity. But if we have no spiritual greed as we shall understand Srila Prabhupada books in that case? Only through REAL spiritual greed (laulyam) is opened a spiritual subject. What that time back ISKCON marked century of Srila Prabhupada, I think that in more less adequate form Srila Prabhupada position becomes obvious when ours ISKCON will be celebrated thousand years His birthes.
  23. Thus Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu forgot Himself throughout the entire day and night, being merged in an ocean of ecstatic love for Krsna. Antya 15.5 The Lord would maintain Himself in three kinds of consciousness: sometimes He merged totally in ecstatic emotion, sometimes He was in partial external consciousness and sometimes in full external consciousness. Antya 15.6 Actually, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was always merged in ecstatic emotion, but just as a potter’s wheel turns without the potters touching it, the Lord’s bodily activities, like bathing, going to the temple to see Lord Jagannatha, and taking lunch, went on automatically. Antya 15.7 One day, while Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was looking at Lord Jagannatha in the temple, Lord Jagannatha appeared to be personally the son of Nanda Maharaja, Sri Krsna. When He realized Lord Jagannatha to be Krsna Himself, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhus five senses were immediately absorbed in attraction for the five attributes of Lord Krsna. PURPORT Sri Krsnas beauty attracted the eyes of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Krsnas singing and the vibration of His flute attracted the Lords ears, the transcendental fragrance of Krsnas lotus feet attracted His nostrils, Krsnas transcendental sweetness attracted His tongue, and Krsnas bodily touch attracted the Lords sensation of touch. Thus each of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhus five senses was attracted by one of the five attributes of Lord Krsna. Just as in a tug-of-war, the single mind of Lord Caitanya was attracted in five directions by the five transcendental attributes of Lord Krsna. Thus the Lord became unconscious. That night, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was attended by Svarupa Damodara Gosvami and Ramananda Raya. Keeping His hands around their necks, the Lord began to lament. When Srimati Radharani was very agitated due to feeling great separation from Krsna, She spoke a verse to Visakha explaining the cause of Her great anxiety and restlessness. Reciting that verse, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu expressed His burning emotions. Then, with great lamentation, He explained the verse to Svarupa Damodara and Ramananda Raya. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said:"Though the hearts of the gopis are like high-standing hills, they are inundated by the waves of the nectarean ocean of Krsnas beauty. His sweet voice enters their ears and gives them transcendental bliss. The touch of His body is cooler than millions and millions of moons together, and the nectar of His bodily fragrance overfloods the entire world. O My dear friend, that Krsna, who is the son of Nanda Maharaja and whose lips are exactly like nectar, is attracting My five senses by force." "Lord Sri Krsnas beauty, the sound of His words and the vibration of His flute, His touch, His fragrance and the taste of His lips are full of an indescribable sweetness. When all these features attract My five senses at once, My senses all ride together on the single horse of My mind but want to go in five different directions. "O My dear friend, please hear the cause of My misery. My five senses are actually extravagant rogues. They know very well that Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, but they still want to plunder Krsnas property. "My mind is just like a single horse being ridden by the five senses of perception, headed by sight. Each sense wants to ride that horse, and thus they pull My mind in five directions simultaneously. In what direction will it go? If they all pull at one time, certainly the horse will lose its life. How can I tolerate this atrocity? "My dear friend, if you say, "Just try to control Your senses," what shall I say? I cannot become angry at My senses. Is it their fault? Krsnas beauty, sounds, touch, fragrance and taste are by nature extremely attractive. These five features are attracting My senses, and each wants to drag My mind in a different direction. Thus the life of My mind is in great danger, just like a horse ridden in five directions at once. Thus I am also in danger of dying. "The consciousness of each woman within the three worlds is certainly like a high hill, but the sweetness of Krsnas beauty is like an ocean. Even a drop of water from that ocean can flood the entire world and submerge all the high hills of consciousness. "The sweetness of Krsnas joking words plays indescribable havoc with the hearts of all women. His words bind a womans ear to the qualities of their sweetness. Thus there is a tug-of-war, and the life of the ear departs. "Krsnas transcendental body is so cool that it cannot be compared even to sandalwood pulp or to millions upon millions of moons. It expertly attracts the breasts of all women, which resemble high hills. Indeed, the transcendental body of Krsna attracts the minds of all women within the three worlds. Antya 15.22 "The fragrance of Krsnas body is more maddening than the aroma of musk, and it surpasses the fragrance of the bluish lotus flower. It enters the nostrils of all the women of the world and, making a nest there, thus attracts them. "Krsnas lips are so sweet when combined with the camphor of His gentle smile that they attract the minds of all women, forcing them to give up all other attractions. If the sweetness of Krsna’s smile is unobtainable, great mental difficulties and lamentation result. That sweetness is the only wealth of the gopis of Vrndavana." After speaking in this way, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu caught hold of the necks of Ramananda Raya and Svarupa Damodara. Then the Lord said, "My dear friends, please listen to Me. What shall I do? Where shall I go? Where can I go to get Krsna? Please, both of you, tell Me how I can find Him." Thus absorbed in transcendental pain, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu lamented day after day in the company of Svarupa Damodara Gosvami and Ramananda Raya. Svarupa Damodara Gosvami would sing appropriate songs, and Ramananda Raya would recite suitable verses to enhance the ecstatic mood of the Lord. In this way they were able to pacify Him. *********** Let me offer my respectful obeisances unto Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, who personally tasted the nectar of ecstatic love for Krsna and then instructed His devotees how to taste it. Thus He enlightened them about ecstatic love of Krsna to initiate them into transcendental knowledge. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu thus stayed at Jagannatha Puri in the association of His devotees, always merged in ecstatic devotional love. ------------- It is eternal games and eternal emotions. If we are caused, it is difficult to us to understand as the separation can be pleasant. But Lord Сaitanya thus eternally will carry out(spend) the games. His companions "never" thus reach perfection, though really are at the most maximum step of perfection. They "aspire" in Krisna lila, but in Gaura lila they "do not reach" Krisna. Actually they work as direct expansion Radharani in mood Radharani. This mood is distributed to all companions Lord Сaitanya. "In the spiritual world, separation is more relishable than meeting. ...Separation is eternal, and meeting is also eternal. "
