  1. Lord Caitanya is undoubtedly Krsna Himself, and He is always nondifferent from Srimati Radharani. But the emotion technically called vipralambha-bhava, which the Lord adopted for confidential reasons, should not be disturbed in the name of service. Rather, vipralambha-seva, thinking of Krsna in separation, as Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu did, is far better than serving Krsna directly. Lord Caitanya taught people in general the method of vipralambha-seva, which is the method of rendering service unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead in the feeling of separation. The six Gosvamis also taught worship of Krsna in the feeling of the gopis in separation. The prayers of Srinivasacarya about the Gosvamisexplain these matters very clearly. Srinivasacarya said that the Gosvamis were always absorbed in the ocean of transcendental feelings in the mood of the gopis. When they lived in Vrndavana they were searching for Krsna, crying, "Where are You, Krsna? O gopis, where are You? Where are You, Srimati Radharani" They never said, "We have now seen Radha and Krsna, and therefore our mission is fulfilled." Their mission remained always unfulfilled; they never met Radha and Krsna. Therefore Caitanya Mahaprabhu, by the example of His actual life, taught vipralambha-seva, service of Krsna in separation. Tears would come from His eyes like torrents of rain, for He would feel everything to be vacant for want of Krsna. So these are all symptoms of love for Krsna. That is the highest perfection of life, to shed tears for Krsna. Yugдyitaа nimeсeлa cakсuсд prдvесдyitam. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu taught us this method of worship in separation, vipralambha-seva. Not that "Oh, I have seen yesterday. Last night, I have seen Kеслa. He was snatching my cloth." These are sahajiyдs. Actually, our worship should be in separation. The Gosvamisalso taught us like that. He rдdhe vraja-devйke ca lalite he nanda-sьno kutaщ. They in the Vrndavana remained authorized persons. They were also searching after Krsna. They never said that "We have got Krsna," never said. ... So this is the process of Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s worship. Caitanya Mahaprabhu was falling down on the water, "Oh, I could not see Krsna." When He was grhastha, He was simply consulting with mother, "Mother, I could not realize Krsna. What shall I do? Where shall I go?" Mother said, "My dear son, why You are impatient? Everything will be all right in due course." Caitanya Mahaprabhuwas giving indication that "I must leave home.” Mother was also understanding that "This boy wants to leave us." That was another perplexed position. So that is Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s teaching: Govinda-viraheлa: "In separation from Govinda I am thinking one moment as twelve years." Some of you or all of us have got this experience. If we want something very, very eagerly, then every moment becomes a long time. "Oh, it is not yet received. It is not yet received. It is not yet done." Yugдyitaа nimeсeлa. Nimesa, a moment, a twinkling of an eye, that is called nimesa. That appears to be twelve years. The gopis could not tolerate even twinkling of eyes. They were condemning the creator, "The creator does not know the art of creating. Why he has created this twinkling of eyes so that it is disturbing us from seeing Krsna." Seeing Krsna, and the twinkling of eyes, that is natural. So the gopis did not like it, that "Why he has created this? He does not know the art of creation." This is love. ************** "Without seeing Govinda, the whole world is vacant." This is love. "Let me try to become Krsna conscious. If it is done, all right. If it is not done, I shall remain in my position. What is the loss?" Not like that. One must be so eager that without Krsna consciousness, one should become mad. One should become mad. That is Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhus teaching, separation, not direct contact. Direct contact is not possible. Neither that is the way of worshiping by the method of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. That is sahajiya-vada. "I am talking with Krsna. Krsna is snatching my cloth." There is a book, one lady has written, his (her) experience, that Krsna comes, He talks with her and snatches her cloth. She has written openly. But this is not Caitanya Mahaprabhus way. There is one gentleman, Mr. Raya, in Poona, and he has got also woman. Everyone must have a woman, parakiya. This is sahajiya-vada. This is sahajiya-vada. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu never said, "This is the parakiya-rasa: one should have one woman." No. He observed complete sannyasa life. Rather there was very, very severe, rigid restriction about women. But now, these sahajiyas, they are going on in the name of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu: aula, bдula, karttд-bhajд, neтд, daraveзa, sдмi sahajiyд, sakhйbhekй, like that, so many. They are apa-sampradaya. Real Caitanya Mahaprabhu sampradaya is that he should be feeling like Caitanya Mahaprabhu, separation. Not sambhoga. Vipralambha. Vipralambha-seva: "Oh, I am so wretched, I could not serve Krsna. How I can see Krsna? It is not possible." In this way. That is the teaching of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. "But even though I do not see Him, neither it is possible for me to see Him..." Means: "What I am? I am insignificant person. Why Krsna come and see me?" This is right. "Why shall I aspire after seeing Krsna? What qualification I have got?" This is bhajana. This is bhajana. Why should I be proud that "Now I shall see Krsna”? What I am? That is the teaching of Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Дзliсya vд pдda-ratда pinaсцu mда marma-hatда karotu vд adarзanдt. Adarsana. "Without giving me audience, You kill me, You break my heart; still, You are my Lord, You are my worshipable Lord, nobody else." This is love. This is love. (Bengali) Asan Krsna galai diba naiva beja tata(?). Not like that. "Krsna may not come. I may not see Krsna for thousands and thousands of lives. I may rot in the hellish condition of life for many, many births. That doesnt matter. Still, I cannot give up Krsna consciousness." This is required. I may be sent to hell, heaven; it doesnt matter. What qualification I have got that I want to see back to home, back to Godhead? It is not so easy thing. So why should I be sorry for that? I should be happy even in the hell simply by thinking of Krsna. That is wanted. That is wanted. That is Krsna consciousness. So here is the example. Tears by force are coming out: "Oh, Krsna is going away." At the same time, they want to check: "There may not be any inauspicity for Krsna." They’re thinking Krsna, for Krsna, not for personal self. "Oh, I am now crying. I have become very much fortunate. I am crying for Krsna." No. "My crying will create inauspicity for Krsna, I must check it." This is Krsna consciousness. ************** So we have to follow the footprints of the Gosvamis, how to search out Krsna and Radharani, Vrndavana, or within your heart. That is the process of Caitanya Mahaprabhus bhajana: feeling of separation, vipralambha, vipralambha-seva. Just like Caitanya Mahaprabhu, feeling the separation of Krsna, He was falling down on the sea. He was coming out of His rest room or His bedroom and going out at dead of night. Nobody knew where He has gone. So that was His searching. This process of devotional service is taught by Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Not that very easily, "We have seen Krsna or seen Radharani in rasa-lila." No, not like that. Our, this Gaudiya-sampradaya, Caitanya Mahaprabhus, in Caitanya Mahaprabhus descendants, our line of God realization is that separation, feeling of separation. Not that we have got Krsna within our hand. No. The feeling of separation, worship of Krsna by feeling of separation is better than the worship by directly meeting. Vipralambha-seva. *************** All glories to Svarupa Damodara and the devotees, headed by Srivasa Thakura. Please give me the strength to describe the character of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhus emotion of transcendental madness in separation from Krsna is very deep and mysterious. Even though one is very advanced and learned, he cannot understand it. How can one describe unfathomable subject matters? It is possible only if Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu gives him the capability. Svarupa Damodara Gosvami and Raghunatha dasa Gosvami recorded all these transcendental activities of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu in their notebooks. These two great personalities recorded the activities of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu moment by moment. ... Svarupa Damodara wrote short codes, whereas Raghunatha dasa Gosvami wrote elaborate descriptions. I shall now describe Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhus activities more elaborately, as if fluffing out compressed cotton. Please hear faithfully this description of Caitanya Mahaprabhus ecstatic emotions. Thus you will come to know of His ecstatic love, and ultimately you will achieve love of Godhead. When Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu felt separation from Krsna, His condition exactly corresponded to the condition of the gopis in Vrndavana after Krsnas departure for Mathura. The lamentation of Srimati Radharani when Uddhava visited Vrndavana gradually became a feature of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhus transcendental madness. Srimati Radharanis emotions after seeing Uddhava exactly correspond to those of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. He always conceived of Himself in Her position and sometimes thought that He was Srimati Radharani Herself. Such is the state of transcendental madness. Why is it difficult to understand? When one is highly elevated in love of Krsna, he becomes transcendentally mad and talks like a madman. "When the ecstatic emotion of enchantment gradually progresses, it becomes similar to bewilderment. Then one reaches the stage of astonishment, which awakens transcendental madness. Udghьrлд and citra-jalpa are two among the many divisions of transcendental madness." One day while He was resting, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu dreamed He saw Krsna performing His rasa dance. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu saw Lord Krsna standing with His beautiful body curved in three places, holding His flute to His lips. Wearing yellow garments and garlands of forest flowers, He was enchanting even to Cupid. The gopis were dancing in a circle, and in the middle of that circle, Krsna, the son of Maharaja Nanda, danced with Radharani. Seeing this, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was overwhelmed with the transcendental mellow of the rasa dance, and He thought, "Now I am with Krsna in Vrndavana." When Govinda saw that the Lord had not yet risen, he awakened Him. Understanding that He had only been dreaming, the Lord was somewhat unhappy. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu performed His customary daily duties, and at the usual time He went to see Lord Jagannдtha in the temple. As He viewed Lord Jagannatha from behind the Garuda column, hundreds and thousands of people in front of Him were seeing the Deity. ... Just previously, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu had been seeing Lord Jagannatha as the son of Maharaja Nanda, Krsna, in person. Becoming fully absorbed in that vision, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu had assumed the mood of the gopis, so much so that everywhere He looked He saw Krsna standing with His flute to His lips. When He saw the Deities, Lord Caitanya thought He was seeing Krsna in Kuruksetra. He wondered, "Have I come to Kuruksetra? Where is Vrndavana?" Lord Caitanya grew very agitated, like a person who has just lost a recently acquired jewel. Then He became very morose and returned home. Antya 14.36 Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu sat down on the ground and began to mark it with His nails. He was blinded by tears, which flowed from His eyes like the Ganges. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said, "I found Krsna, the Lord of Vrndavana, but I have lost Him again. Who has taken My Krsna? Where have I come?" When Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu dreamed of the rasa dance, He was fully absorbed in transcendental bliss, but when His dream broke, He thought He had lost a precious jewel. Thus Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu would chant and dance, always absorbed in the bliss of transcendental madness. He carried out the necessities of the body, such as eating and bathing, merely out of habit. Antya 14.40 At night, Lord Caitanya would reveal to Svarupa Damodara and Ramananda Raya the ecstatic feelings of His mind. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said, "At first My mind somehow achieved the treasure of Krsna, but it again lost Him. Therefore it gave up My body and home because of lamentation and accepted the religious principles of a kдpдlika-yogi. Then My mind went to Vrndavana with its disciples, My senses.," Having lost His acquired gem, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu became overwhelmed with lamentation by remembering its attributes. Then, grasping the necks of Ramananda Raya and Svarupa Damodara Gosvami, He cried, "Alas, where is My Lord Hari? Where is Hari?" Finally He became restless and lost all patience. ... The great yogi of My mind always studies the poetry and discussions of Lord Krsnas Vrndavana pastimes. In the Srimad-Bhagavatam and other scriptures, great saintly yogis like Vyasadeva and Sukadeva Gosvami have described Lord Krsna as the Supersoul, beyond all material contamination. The mystic yogi of My mind has assumed the name Mahabaula and made disciples of My ten senses. Thus My mind has gone to Vrndavana, leaving aside the home of My body and the great treasure of material enjoyment. When My mind lost the association of Krsna and could no longer see Him, he became depressed and took up mystic yoga. In the void of separation from Krsna, he experienced ten transcendental transformations. Agitated by these transformations, My mind fled, leaving My body, his place of residence, empty. Thus I am completely in trance." When the gopis felt separation from Krsna, they experienced ten kinds of bodily transformations. These same symptoms appeared on the body of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Antya 14.53 "The ten bodily transformations resulting from separation from Krsna are anxiety, wakefulness, mental agitation, thinness, uncleanliness, talking like a madman, disease, madness, illusion and death." "At the request of Akrura, Krsna and Balarama left the house of Nanda Maharaja for Mathura. At that time, Srimati Radharani’s mind was disrupted, and She became almost mad because of extreme separation from Krsna. She experienced great mental pain and agitation, which caused Her to drown in mental speculation in the river of anxiety. She thought, ‘Now I am going to die, and when I die, Krsna will surely come back to see Me again. But when He hears of My death from the people of Vrndavana, He will certainly be very unhappy. Therefore I shall not die." This is the explanation of the word cinta. Thinking Herself very unfortunate, Srimati Radharani addressed Her very dear friend Visakha, "My dear friend, if I could see Krsna in My dreams, I would certainly be glorified for My great fortune. But what can I do? Sleep also plays mischievously with Me. Indeed, it has become My enemy. Therefore I have not slept since the departure of Krsna." Srimati Radharani addressed Lalita, "My dear beautiful-faced Lalita, I cannot express how My heart is burning. It is a great, unfathomable ocean of anxiety. Still, I wish to offer My obeisances at your lotus feet. What shall I do? Please consider My condition and advise Me how I can become peaceful. That is My desire." When Uddhava returned to Mathura after visiting Vrndavana, Lord Krsna inquired from him about Radharani and Visakha. Uddhava replied as follows: "Consider the condition of the gopis! Srimati Radharani especially is in a very painful condition because of separation from You. She has grown skinny, and Her bodily luster is almost gone. Her heart is immersed in pain, and because She has given up eating, Her breast has become black, as if diseased. Because of separation from You, all the gopis, especially Radharani, appear like dried-up water holes under the scorching heat of the sun." Uddhava said to Krsna, "O most auspicious Krsna, please hear me. The tribulation caused by Your absence has made Visakha languid. Her lips tremble like trees in a strong wind. Her beautiful face is like a lotus flower that has withered under the snow, and Her eyes are like lotus petals scorched by the heat of the autumn sun." "My dear Lalita, kindly hear Me. I cannot bear suffering the fever of separation from Krsna, nor can I explain it to you. It is something like gold melting in an earthen box. This fever produces more distress than poison, and it is more piercing than a thunderbolt. I suffer exactly like someone almost dead from cholera. To be giving Me so much pain, this fever must be very strong indeed." Uddhava said to Krsna, "My dear Krsna, all the gopis are so afflicted by Your absence that they have become almost mad. O Murari, at home Srimati Radharani laughs unnecessarily and, like a madwoman, inquires about You from every entity without distinction, even from the stones. She rolls on the ground, unable to bear the agony of Your absence." Lalita wrote Krsna the following letter on Srimati Radharani’s behalf: "My dear Krsna, separation from You has greatly agitated Srimati Radharani’s mind, and She has fallen unconscious on the ground. O enemy of Kamsa, You have now become a first-class politician, and therefore You can supposedly give relief to everyone. Therefore please consider the plight of Srimati Radharani, or very soon You will hear of Her death. Maybe at that time You will lament, although now You are jubilant." In the following letter, Lalita chastised Krsna for staying in Mathura: "Simply by dancing in the circle of the rasa dance, You attracted Srimati Radharani’s love. Why are You now so indifferent to my dear friend Radharani? She is lying nearly unconscious, thinking of Your pastimes. I shall determine whether She is alive by putting a cotton swab under Her nostrils, and if She is still living, I shall chastise Her." Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was overwhelmed night and day by these ten ecstatic conditions. Whenever such symptoms arose, His mind became unsteady. After speaking in this way, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu fell silent. Then Rama-nanda Raya began to recite various verses. Ramananda Raya recited verses from Srimad-Bhagavatam, and Svarupa Damodara Gosvami sang of Krsnas pastimes. In this way, they brought Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu to external consciousness. After half the night had passed in this way, Ramananda Raya and Svarupa Damodara Gosvami made Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu lie down on His bed in the inner room. Then Ramananda Raya returned home, and Svarupa Damodara Gosvami, along with Govinda, lay down in front of the door to Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhus room. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu remained awake throughout the entire night, chanting the Hare Krsna mantra very loudly. After some time, Svarupa Damodara could no longer hear Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu chanting. When he entered the room, he found the three doors locked, but Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu had gone. After searching for some time, they came upon Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu lying in a corner by the northern side of the Siаha-dvдra gate. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was lying unconscious, and His body had become elongated to five or six cubits [eight or nine feet]. There was no breath from His nostrils. It appeared that only skin covered His elongated joints. Seeing the Lords condition, all the devotees were very unhappy. When they saw this, Svarupa Damodara Gosvami and all the other devotees began to chant the holy name of Krsna very loudly into Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhus ear. As soon as the Lord returned to external consciousness, all His joints contracted, and His entire body returned to normal. Hearing the description of His condition while lying near the Siаha-dvдra, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was very astonished. He said, "I do not remember any of these things. Antya 14.78 "I can only remember that I saw My Krsna, but only for an instant. He appeared before Me, and then, like lightning, immediately disappeared." No one has witnessed such bodily changes elsewhere, nor has anyone read of them in the revealed scriptures. Yet Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, the supreme sannyasi, exhibited these ecstatic symptoms. These ecstasies are not described in the sastras, and they are inconceivable to common men. Therefore people in general do not believe in them. One day, while Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was going to the sea to bathe, He suddenly saw a sand dune named Caцaka-parvata. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu mistook the sand dune for Govardhana Hill and ran toward it. "Of all the devotees, this Govardhana Hill is the best! O My friends, this hill supplies Krsna and Balarama, as well as Their calves, cows and cowherd friends, with all kinds of necessities—water for drinking, very soft grass, caves, fruits, flowers and vegetables. In this way the hill offers respect to the Lord. Being touched by the lotus feet of Krsna and Balarama, Govardhana Hill appears very jubilant." PURPORT This is a quotation from Srimad-Bhagavatam (10.21.18). It was spoken by the gopis when Lord Krsna and Balarama entered the forest in the autumn. The gopis spoke among themselves and glorified Krsna and Balarama for Their pastimes. Reciting this verse, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhuran toward the sand dune as fast as the wind. Govinda ran after Him, but he could not approach Him. First one devotee shouted loudly, and then a tumultuous uproar arose as all the devotees stood up and began to run after the Lord. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was running with the speed of the wind, but He suddenly became stunned in ecstasy and lost all strength to proceed further. The flesh at each of His pores erupted like pimples, and His hair, standing on end, appeared like kadamba flowers. Antya 14.93 Blood and perspiration flowed incessantly from every pore of His body, and He could not speak a word but simply produced a gargling sound within His throat. Antya 14.94 The Lords eyes filled up and overflowed with unlimited tears, like the Ganges and Yamuna meeting in the sea. His entire body faded to the color of a white conchshell, and then He began to quiver, like the waves in the ocean. While quivering in this way, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu fell down on the ground. Then Govinda approached Him. Antya 14.97 All eight kinds of transcendental transformations were visible in the Lords body. All the devotees were struck with wonder to see such a sight. The devotees loudly chanted the Hare Krsna mantra near Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and washed His body with cold water. After the devotees had been chanting for a long time, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu suddenly stood up, shouting, "Hari bol!" Astonished, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu stood up and began looking here and there, trying to see something. But He could not catch sight of it. When Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu saw all the Vaisnavas, He returned to partial external consciousness and spoke to Svarupa Damodara. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said, "Who has brought Me here from Govardhana Hill? I was seeing Lord Krsna’s pastimes, but now I cannot see them. "Today I went from here to Govardhana Hill to find out if Krsna were tending His cows there. I saw Lord Krsna climbing Govardhana Hill and playing His flute, surrounded on all sides by grazing cows. - Hearing the vibration of Krsnas flute, Srimati Radharani and all Her gopi friends came there to meet Him. They were all very nicely dressed. When Krsna and Srimati Radharani entered a cave together, the other gopis asked Me to pick some flowers. Just then, all of you made a tumultuous sound and carried Me from there to this place. Why have you brought Me here, causing Me unnecessary pain? I had a chance to see Krsnas pastimes, but I could not see them." Saying this, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu began to weep. When all the Vaisnavas saw the Lords condition, they also wept. Antya 14.113 At that time, Paramananda Puri and Brahmananda Bharati arrived. Seeing them, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu became somewhat respectful. Antya 14.114 Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu returned to complete external consciousness and immediately offered prayers to them. Then these two elderly gentlemen both embraced the Lord with loving affection. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said to Puri Gosvami and Brahmananda Bharati, "Why have you both come so far?" Puri Gosvami replied, "Just to see Your dancing." When He heard this, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was somewhat ashamed. Then He went to bathe in the sea with all the Vaisnavas. Antya 14.117 After bathing in the sea, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu returned to His residence with all the devotees. Then they all lunched on the remnants of food offered to Lord Jagannatha. Thus I have described the transcendental ecstatic emotions of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Even Lord Brahma cannot describe their influence.
  2. For example - "Bhajami means to do bhajana, but in our sampradaya bhajana means something more than that which is described in Brahma-samhita. It not so - " In the millions and millions of universes there are innumerable planets, and each and every one of them is different from the others by its cosmic constitution. All of these planets are situated in a corner of the brahmajyoti. This brahmajyoti is but the personal rays of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Govinda, whom I worship. " This mantra from the Brahma-samhita is spoken from the platform of factual realization of the Absolute Truth." ----This mood of high separation. Therefore by simply intellectual reflections it is impossible to achieve spiritual life. "Govinda is not the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Rather, His qualification is that He is always following Srimati Radharanis orders." ----It is simple interpretation, it not the truth. They take words sastra and put in them incorrect sense. At least they should not refer on SP, because he speaks another - "Direct servants of Lord Krsna are Srimati Radharani "And among all the gopis, the best is Srimati Radharani. Her determination to serve Krsna is beautifully described in this verse from Srila Rupa Gosvamis "Even the gopis of Vrndavana regard themselves as Krsnas maidservants. Srimati Radharani prays, “O My Lord,... reveal Yourself to Your maidservant, who is very much aggrieved by Your absence” "...Actually, Radharanis also lesser than Krsna. Shes dasi, maidservant. Shes always thinking how She shall be perfect dasi. Shes not thinking that... Krsna sometimes makes Radharani greater than Him. That does not mean Radharani thinks like that. Radharani always thinks, "How I shall become perfect maidservant of Krsna?" That is the real position, everyone. In the Caitanya-caritamrta youll find how everyone is thinking of servant of Krsna. That is our real position. But Krsna sometimes elevates some of His devotees. Just like Mother Yasoda. Hes thinking, "Mother Yasoda is greater than Me." Or He is making Radharani, I mean, Mother Yasoda feeling like that, that "I am protector of Krsna. If I do not feed Krsna nicely, He will die." This is called vatsalya-rasa, paternal feeling. So nobody is greater than Krsna actually. And she is feeling greater than Krsna as also maidservant, that "I must serve Krsna. I must timely give Krsna food. I must timely raise Krsna." Always taking care, always anxious that "Krsna may not be in danger. Krsna is crawling. He may not go to the water. He may not be attacked by the monkey. He may not be..." So many. Shes always anxious. Shes doing her household work, but shes always anxious how to protect Krsna. So she is thinking, she is thinking that "Unless I give protection to Krsna, Krsna may be facing with so many dangers." But Krsna is doing His business. Radharani, uh, Mother Yasoda, keeping Krsna underneath the cart, and Krsna is breaking the cart, killing the Sakancsura. And Mother Yasoda thinking Krsna is saved. Then when the cart was broken, the utensils scattered, and she became anxious. This is Krsna’s enjoyment, to deal with His devotee in different rasas and enjoy. Sakhya... Santa dasya sakhya madhurya vatsalya. In this way Krsna is always enjoying. He has no other business than enjoyment. Anandamayo bhyasat. Hes by nature simply enjoying. Enjoying. That is Krsna. ----Siksastaka it is mood acaryas, not other speculations. "However, when Krsna is absent, the lover experiences the rasa of vipralambha (separation), which itself produces a specific kind of wonderful transcendental bliss. In answer to one of Lord Mahaprabhu's questions, Ramananda Raya described (Sri Caitanya-caritamrta Madhya 8.194) the wonderful bliss the devotee feel in separation from Krsna, a bliss he called vivarta. Therefore what seems here to be suffering is in truth the highest spiritual bliss." from Jaiva dharma ----It concerns to Gaura lila in what that of a degree. "...Guru is secondary, another mercy of Krsna. Krsna is helping within and without. That without help is guru, Krsnas representative. So Krsna is always ready to help us, and when Krsna is helping us, it is very easy to understand Him. Therefore a devotee is beyond all doubts. Beyond all doubts. There is no doubt. Not that blindly we are accepting Krsna as the Supreme Personality of Godhead. No. We have got all our arguments, scientific, philosophical, anything. Then we accept Krsna. That acceptance is nice. That is uttama-adhikari. "They never said, "I have seen Krsna dancing with the gopis. Last night I saw." (laughter) This is sahajiya. This is not mature devotee. This is called... They are called sahajiya. They take everything very cheap—Krsna very cheap, Radharani very cheap—as if they can see every night. No. The Gosvдmis do not teach us like that. The Bhagavad-gita (10.10–11) confirms emphatically that the pure devotees, who are constantly engaged in the loving transcendental service of the Lord, are directly advised by the Lord, so much so that the devotee unwaveringly makes progress on the path home, back to Godhead. Pure devotees of the Lord are therefore not proud of their definite progress, whereas the nondevotee speculator is in the darkness of illusory energy and is very much proud of his misleading knowledge based on speculation without any definite path. Lord Brahma wanted to be saved from that pitfall of pride, although he was posted in the most exalted position within the universe. Lord Brahma is the topmost devotee of the Lord within the universe, and therefore the Personality of Godhead replied to his four principal inquiries in four important statements, which are known as the original Bhдgavatam in four verses. Good qualifications can be expected only from a pure devotee, who is always engaged in the thought of the Lord, or in samadhi, with faith. But if one becomes enlightened by association with a pure devotee of the Lord, one can understand ones actual position as an eternal servant of God. By rendering such service, one dissolves his attachment to the material world and the reactions of his previous activities, and as a surrendered soul he is endowed with unlimited spiritual freedom in the service of the Lord. In this regard, the Brahma-samhita (5.54) states... "This booklet is only the fifth chapter of the Hymns of Brahma which were recorded in a hundred chapters. The Supreme Lord Sri Caitanya picked up this chapter from the temple of Adi-kesava at Tiruvattar, a village lying under the government of Travancore, for the assurance of all God-loving, and especially Krsna-loving, people in this conditioned jurisdiction. This booklet can easily be compared with another book which passes by the name of Srimad-Bhagavatam. Though it has got a reference in the pantheon of Puranas, the Bhagavatam corroborates the same idea of this Pancaratra. The devotees should consider that these two books tend to the identical Krsna who is the fountainhead of all transcendental and mundane entities and has a manifestive exhibition of the plenary variegatedness. Aspersions of calumniation are restricted in the limited world, whereas transcendence cannot admit such angularities being an angle of 180 degrees or void of any angular discrepancies. The publisher is carried away to the realm of gratitude when his stores of publication are scrutinized. Thakura Bhaktivinoda has given an elucidatory purport of the conception of the most sublime fountainhead of all entities in Bengali, and one of his devout followers has rendered that into English for propagatory purpose. Siddhanta Sarasvati Shree Gaudiya Math, Calcutta, the 1st August, 1932." "In the temple of Adi-kesava, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu discussed spiritual matters among highly advanced devotees. While there, He found a chapter of the Brahma-samhita. "Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was greatly happy to find a chapter of that scripture, and symptoms of ecstatic transformation—trembling, tears, perspiration, trance and jubilation—were manifest in His body. "There is no scripture equal to the Brahma-samhita as far as the final spiritual conclusion is concerned. Indeed, that scripture is the supreme revelation of the glories of Lord Govinda, for it reveals the topmost knowledge about Him. Since all conclusions are briefly presented in the Brahma-samhita, it is essential among all the Vaiсnava scriptures. ----This insult to think that SP only of beginnings. "A learned scholar who has studied the Vedas perfectly and has information from authorities like Lord Caitanya and who knows how to apply these teachings can understand that Krsna is the origin of everything in both the material and spiritual worlds, and because he knows this perfectly he becomes firmly fixed in the devotional service of the Supreme Lord. He can never be deviated by any amount of nonsensical commentaries...
  3. ***Lord Caitanya is in gaura lila in madhurya rasa in separation (with who?) With Krisna. ***Both statement are wrong (Praladha Maharaja is not in vatsalya rasa and Srivasa Pandit is not in madhurya rasa) Srivasa Pandit is madhurya rasa. It is wrong prechings confuse disciples wery "right" parampara.
  4. Haribol Prabhu! ***Are you saying that everyone goes through Santa-rasa and then continue on to the rasa that is best suited for them? Yes, in his originally rasa. ***But Santa rasa first fir everyone? Yes. Brahma bhuta prasannatma, as minimum. But is santa rasa who above brahman, person first take spiritual knowlege, and spiritual experiense. Many who speak abhout "madhurya" really stay in santa rasa may be /images/graemlins/smile.gif. After that, a new Satya-yuga will begin. The chapter ends with a brief description of the future dynasties of the sun and moon coming from Vaivasvata Manu in the next Satya-yuga. 12. Pandita Jagadananda, the sixth branch of the Caitanya tree, was celebrated as the life and soul of the Lord. He is known to have been an incarnation of Satyabhama [one of the chief queens of Lord Krsna]. Jagadananda Pandita [as an incarnation of Satyabhama] always wanted to see to the comfort of Lord Caitanya, but since the Lord was a sannyasi He did not accept the luxuries that Jagadananda Pandita offered. Jagadananda Panditas pure ecstatic love for Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was very deep. It can be compared to the love of Satyabhama, who always quarreled with Lord Krsna. Gadadhara Panditas pure ecstatic love for Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was also very deep. It was like that of Rukminidevi, who was always especially submissive to Krsna. Antya 7.145 In the pastimes of Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, Jagadananda Pandita was always in disagreement with the Lord like Satyabhama, whereas Gadadhara Pandita was always awed by the Lords opulence and was therefore submissive to the Lord under all circumstances. "... and humors of conjugal love with Gadadhara, Jagadananda and Svarupa Dдmodara. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu enjoyed all these four mellows, and thus He remained obliged to His devotees. PURPORT ...In the presence of His most confidential devotees like Gadadhara Pandita, Jagadananda and Svarupa Dдmodara, Caitanya Mahaprabhu enjoyed the ecstatic conditions of Srimati Radharani in Her conjugal relationship with Krsna. Absorbed in these four transcendental mellows, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu resided in Jagannatha Puri, feeling very much obliged to His devotees. Prema-Vivarta Divine Transformations of Spiritual Love by Srila Jagadananda Pandita ... -The transcendental identities of Sri Radha and Sri Krsna- I offer my prostrated obeisances again and again to the indivisible, non-dual truth, Sri Krsna, who is the ultimate essence of all scriptural conclusions. That absolute principle sometimes manifests Himself as two - Srimati Radharani and Sri Krsna - and sometimes as one Supreme Absolute in the form of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. The pleasure potency transforms the original Absolute Truth, Sri Krsna, into two forms, Srimati Radharani and Sri Krsna, and thus wonderfully arranges transcendental pastimes for Them. The loving affairs of Srimati Radharani and Sri Krsna, are transformations of the "hladini sakti" or the pleasure potency. When Krsna becomes two separate identities, Srimati Radharani and Himself, loving affairs take place and hladini transforms Herself into various loving pastimes. These loving pastimes are eternally present but in an unmanifest state prior to the transcendental forms, of Srimati Radharani and Lord Krsna, are manifest as two personalities. How then did one become two? The pleasure potency of the Lord necessitates the existence of two separate identities, but whence came this pleasure potency of the Lord that created this division? The answer to this question is that all of these affairs are taking place because of the omnipotent will of Lord Krsna, who is eternally beyond the influence of time and circumstances. -Srimati Radharani and Lord Krsna are united in Lord Caitanya- ... Thus, Srimati Radharani and Lord Krsna entered into one transcendental form which presently appears as my dearmost Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu. And when I say ‘presently’ do not mistakenly judge this according to the mundane time factor. Remember, the transcendental truth is beyond the influence of time. Thus to say that Srimati Radharani and Lord Krsna appeared before Lord Caitanya, who made His appearance recently, would be an attempt to impose material inebriates like time and chronological order on Them. This misconception will totally alienate us from the eternal Truth. The word ekatma means an independent and individual spirit; so, if you consider that this word refers to Lord Caitanya alone, then it implies that Srimati Radharani and Lord Krsna appeared later than Lord Caitanya. The pastimes of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu are even more ecstatic than the pastimes of Lord Sri Krsna. In Lord Caitanya’s lila the loving exchanges reach their quintessence. When this love achieved excessive heights, hladini, or the pleasure potency of the Lord, embraced Krsna with feelings of great ecstasy and covered Him with the mood and luster of Srimati Radharani. Lord Krsna, appearing in His full manifestation as Caitanya Mahaprabhu, came to His own abode Navadvipa-dhama where He felt a much great pleasure than in Vraja-dhama. He appear in Navadvipa to fulfill the specific purpose of His incarnation and to relish His hearts desire. -Lord Caitanyas true identity- The form of Lord Caitanya is the non-different, original and most wonderful manifestation of Lord Krsna. Simultaneously the form of Lord Krsna is the original and most unprecedented manifestation of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Towards the end of the previous yuga, namely in Dvapara-yuga, the Supreme Personality as Krsna had performed super-excellent and transcendental pastimes that of the rasa dance, with Srimati Radhika and all the young damsels of Vraja. As Lord Krsna, the son of Mother Yasoda and Nanda Maharaja, He descended to this material world with His associates, paraphernalia, the spiritual abode Vraja, etc. He brought with Him the highest precious treasure of Goloka Vrndavana, namely the parakiya-bhava, or the loving conjugal exchanges in the mood of a paramour lover. He had exhibited this mood in the rasa dance with the young damsels of Vrndavana. That same Supreme Personality has now descended again to the material world in His own transcendental abode of Mayapura in Bengal and brought with Him that same spiritual, loving mood. But this time It is carefully camouflaged.

"Srivasa, Haridasa, Ramadasa, Gadadhara, Murari, Mukunda, Candrasekhara and Vakrisvara are all glorious and are all learned scholars, but the sentiment of servitude to Lord Caitanya makes them mad in ecstasy. Adi 6.51 "Thus they dance, sing and laugh like madmen, and they instruct everyone, "Just be loving servants of Lord Caitanya." "The devotees headed by Gadadhara Pandita are to be considered incarnations of the internal potency of the Lord. They are confidential devotees engaged in the service of the Lord. PURPORT In connection with verses sixteen and seventeen, Sri Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura explains in his Anubhasya: “There are specific symptoms by which the INTERNAL DEVOTEES and the unalloyed or PURE DEVOTEES are to be known. Thus devotees who are in a relationship with the Supreme Personality of Godhead in conjugal love are considered to be the most confidential devotees of Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Those who engage in the service of Lord Nityananda Prabhu and Lord Advaita Prabhu generally have relationships of parental love, fraternity, servitude and neutrality. When such devotees develop great attachment for SRI CAITANYA MAHAPRABHU, they too become situated within the intimate circle of devotees in conjugal love." "The internal devotees or potencies are all eternal associates in the pastimes of the Lord. Only with them does the Lord advent to propound the sankirtana movement, only with them does the Lord taste the mellow of conjugal love, and only with them does He distribute this love of God to people in general. "The characteristics of Krsna are understood to be a storehouse of transcendental love. Although that storehouse of love certainly came with Krsna when He was present, it was sealed. But when Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu came with His other associates of the Panca-tattva, they broke the seal and plundered the storehouse to taste transcendental love of Krsna. The more they tasted it, the more their thirst for it grew. "Sri Paпca-tattva themselves danced again and again and thus made it easier to drink nectarean love of Godhead. They danced, cried, laughed and chanted like madmen, and in this way they distributed love of Godhead. PURPORT People generally cannot understand the actual meaning of chanting and dancing. Describing the Gosvamis, Sri Srinivasa Acarya stated, kеслotkйrtana-gдna-nartana-parau: not only did Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu and His associates demonstrate this chanting and dancing, but the six Gosvamis also followed in the next generation. The present Krsna consciousness movement follows the same principle, and therefore simply by chanting and dancing we have received good responses all over the world. It is to be understood, however, that this chanting and dancing do not belong to this material world. They are actually transcendental activities, for the more one engages in chanting and dancing, the more he can taste the nectar of transcendental love of Godhead. "All glories to Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu and Lord Nityananda! All glories to Advaita Prabhu, and all glories to the devotees of Lord Caitanya, headed by Srivasa! "The description of Lord Caitanya as the gardener and the tree is inconceivable. Now hear with attention about the branches of this tree. "The associates of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu were many, but none of them should be considered lower or higher. This cannot be ascertained. "All the great personalities in the line of Lord Caitanya enumerated these devotees, but they could not distinguish between the greater and the lesser. "I offer my obeisances to all the dear devotees of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, the eternal tree of love of Godhead. I offer my respects to all the branches of the tree, the devotees of the Lord who distribute the fruit of love of Krsna. "The two brothers Srivasa Pandita and Sri Rama Pandita started two branches that are well known in the world. [srivasa Pandita devotee Lord Caitanya] "All glories to Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu and Lord Nityananda! All glories to Advaita Prabhu, and all glories to the devotees of Lord Caitanya, headed by Srivasa! ...We also understand from the description of Sri Caitanya-bhagavata that after Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhus acceptance of the sannyasa order, Srivasa Pandita left Navadvipa, possibly because of feelings of separation, and domiciled at Kumarahatta. ************ *Pradhupada direct embodiment pure devotee and avesa Panca tattva. " The relation Lord Caitanya - Gadadhara ********* "Gadadhara Panditas pure ecstatic love for Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was also very deep. It was like that of Rukminidevi, who was always especially submissive to Krsna." "Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu sometimes desired to see Gadadhara Panditas affectionate anger, but because of knowledge of the Lords opulences, his anger was never invoked. PURPORT Joking with Rukminidevi in Dvaraka, Krsna once advised her to accept another husband because He thought Himself unfit for her. Rukminidevi, however, unable to understand His joking words, took them very seriously and immediately fell to the ground in fear of separation from Him. In the pastimes of Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, Jagadananda Pandita was always in disagreement with the Lord like Satyabhama, whereas Gadadhara Pandita was always awed by the Lords opulence and was therefore submissive to the Lord under all circumstances. "For this purpose Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu sometimes showed His apparent anger. Hearing of this anger inspired great fear in the heart of Gadadhara Pandita. Antya 7.147 "Previously, in krsna-lila, when Lord Krsna wanted to joke with Rukminidevi, she took His words seriously, and fear awoke within her mind. *********** "The Gaura-ganoddesa-dipika (120-24) states that Ramananda Raya was formerly Arjuna. He is also considered to have been an incarnation of the gopi Lalita, although in the opinion of others he was an incarnation of Visakhadevi. *Ramananda Raya is Arjuna, but He works as Lalita or Visakha. "Svarupa Damodara has been identified as Lalitд-devi, the second expansion of Radharani. However, the authoritative Gaura-ganoddesa-dipika of Kavi-karлapьra describes Svarupa Dдmodara as the same Visakha-devi who serves the Lord in Goloka Vrndavana. Therefore it is to be understood that Sri Svarupa Damodara is a direct expansion of Radharani who helps the Lord experience the attitude of Radharani. *Svarupa Damodara is Visakha-devi, But works as Radha or Lalita "In the Gaura-ganoddesa-dipika, verses 147 through 153, it is stated: "The pleasure potency of Sri Krsna formerly known as Vrndavanisvari is now personified in the form of Sri Gadadhara Pandita in the pastimes of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu." Sri Svarupa Damodara Gosvami has pointed out that in the shape of Laksmi, the pleasure potency of Krsna, she was formerly very dear to the Lord as Syamasundara-vallabha. The same Syamasundara-vallabha is now present as Gadadhara Pandita. Formerly, as Lalita-sakhi, she was always devoted to Srimati Radharani. In the Twelfth Chapter of this part of the Caitanya-caritamrta there is a description of the descendants or disciplic succession of Gadadhara Pandita. *Gadadhara is Lalita or Radha as internal energy - sakti tattva, but works like Laksmi. As Svarupa Damodara itself plays a role Radha He know it or pointed it. Gadadhara in Krisna lila is Lalita. Gadadhara is Radha, but most works like Laksmi show as Lord Caitanya play role Radha and His devotees too. Gadadhara is - Radha like internal energy, Lalita as the close girlfriend and Laksmi in the direct relations with Lord Caitanya. In a general sense Gadadhara is all kinds of internal energy. *All devotees Lord Caitanya expansion Radha. All devotees - all qualities devotional servise. It is ALL Radha or many aspects devotional servise. All CC describes all these aspects of devoted service or internal energy. *Those who is in separation with Lord Caitanya not below than those who is directly connected to Him. On the contrary separation with Lord Caitanya strengthens their feelings even more. *Therefore as devotees Lord Caitanya the differences between the material world and spiritual world do not see. The material world again only strengthens their feelings. " I am ready to serve life behind life " is there can be a metaphor? Is not, this mood of pure fidelity. Therefore Prabhupada writes - "it is a love". *Sakhi Krisna lila devoted Gadadhara Pandita, other rases are devoted Lord Nitayanada and Advaita Acarya, but devotees Lord Caitanya rise directly on a level of internal energy. "Sri Radha Thakurani is the embodiment of mahabhava. She is the repository of all good qualities and the crest jewel among all the lovely consorts of Lord KRSNA. "After this incident, the Lord remained in an ecstatic position for twenty-one hours, and all the devotees saw His specific pastimes. "...Some devotees call this exhibition of ecstasy by the Lord sata-prahariya bhava, or "the ecstasy of twenty-one hours," and others call it mahabhava-prakaзa or maha-prakaзa. *Goswamis are this mood. Some others? Prabhupada are? /images/graemlins/smile.gif "That supreme ecstasy of Srimati Radharani is the essence of spiritual life. Her only business is to fulfill all the desires of KRSNA. "Srimati Radharani is the topmost spiritual gem, and the other gopis-Lalita, Visakha and so on-are expansions of Her spiritual body. *Lord Caitanya expand Himself through devotees. In separation with Lord Caitanya devotees as are in mood of internal energy too. "...There is a supreme symptom of ecstatic love which is called mahдbhava. This mahabhava expression was possible only in Radharani, but later on when Sri Krsna Caitanya appeared to feel the mode of love of Radharani, He also expressed all of the symptoms of mahabhava. Sri Rupa Gosvami says in this connection that when the symptoms of ecstatic love become the most bright, that stage is accepted as mahabhava. "Lord Sri Krsna is the reservoir of all pleasure, and Srimati Radharani is the personification of ecstatic love of Godhead. These two forms has combined as one in Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. This being the case, Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu revealed His real form to Ramananda Raya. ******* SBST and Srila Prabhupada are in one mood, it is parampara. Mood Prabhupada this mood SBST. Mood SBT this mood SBST. Only SBT has described all internal energy. SBST has given sambandha Krisna lila. And Srila Prabhupada gives only essence, not considering especially sambandha Krisna lila, it no needs for this mood. Therefore Prabhupada I also has told - has given you all. Because the mature fruit of devoted service has arrived here! We you see all the same are not perfect, only proud can be completely perfect. And gradually from this "imperfection" the perfection is born. There is no necessity for all artificial jumps. There is no necessity anything to simulate. ************* Anadi Prabhu - 1. Krisna lila - Gaura lila are at one level. Gaura lila is higher actually in spiritual sense. 2. Description svarupa devotees in Krisna lila in CC it secondarily. The description of games Lord Caitanya on the first place. 3. The description of spiritual moods in CC are more intended for Gaura lila than for Krisna lila. The description of spiritual moods in CC approach and for Krisna lila, but in maximum sense are intended for another (Gaura lila).
  18. ***On the other side if Srivasa Pandit is in Krsna lila in sakya rasa, what kind of natural love is awakened in his heart when he recongnized his loving friend Krsna, under the guise of Caitanya Mahaprabhu? Is this madhurya bhava in union oder in separation? Is quite impossible. It is most probably sakhya bhava. No sakhya. Impossible it is for dictionary fools. Satyabhama svakiya in Krisna lila - parakiya in gaura Lila. ***Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, Is in madhurya rasa (conjugal love) in separation (vipralambha) with KRSNA. Another meaning for rasa is relation. Yes/ NO RADHA, NO RADHA. Lord Caitanya in this sense IS RADHA, all His devotee expansions Radha. First BG, sekond SB, then CC. No understand BG person all life stay in misconception. It is no good preachings. For beginners - "prema-bhava". SBT begining teach this babaji.
  19. sastra-yuktye sunipuлa, dетha-зraddhд yдмra ‘uttama-adhikдrй’ sei tдraye saаsдra A person who is expert in understanding the conclusion of the revealed scriptures and who fully surrenders to the cause of the Lord is actually able to deliver others from the clutches of material existence. Srila Rupa Gosvami, in his Upadesamrta (3), advises that to make rapid advancement in the cult of devotional service one should be very active and should persevere in executing the duties specified in the revealed scriptures and confirmed by the spiritual master. Accepting the path of liberated souls and the association of pure devotees enriches such activities. ...Similarly, other false devotees think that studying books of the previous acaryas is unadvisable, like studying dry empiric philosophies. But Srila Jiva Gosvami, following the previous acaryas, has inculcated the conclusions of the scriptures in the six theses called the Sat-sandarbhas. False devotees who have very little knowledge of such conclusions fail to achieve pure devotion for want of zeal in accepting the favorable directions for devotional service given by self-realized devotees. Such false devotees are like impersonalists, who also consider devotional service no better than ordinary fruitive actions. Both Rupa Gosvami and Sanatana Gosvami brought various scriptures to Vrndavana and collected the essence of these by compiling many scriptures on devotional service. In this way they delivered all rascals and fallen souls. PURPORT Srila Srinivasa Acarya has sung: nana-sastra-vicдraлaika-nipuлau sad-dharma-saаsthдpakau lokдnда hita-kдriлau tri-bhuvane mдnyau зaraлyдkarau rдdhд-Krsna-padдravinda-bhajanдnandena mattдlikau vande rьpa-sanдtanau raghu-yugau Sri-Jiva-gopдlakau The six Gosvamis, under the direction of Srila Rupa Gosvami and Srila Sanatana Gosvami, studied various Vedic scriptures and picked up the essence of them, the devotional service of the Lord. This means that all the Gosvamis wrote many scriptures on devotional service with the support of the Vedic literature. Devotional service is not a sentimental activity. The essence of Vedic knowledge is devotional service, as confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita (15.15): vedaiз ca sarvair aham eva vedyaщ. All the Vedic literature aims at understanding Krsna, and how to understand Krsna through devotional service has been explained by Srila Rupa and Sanatana Gosvamis, with evidence from all the Vedic scriptures. They have put it so nicely that even a rascal or first-class fool can be delivered by devotional service under the guidance of the Gosvamis. "The Gosvamis carried out the preaching work of devotional service on the basis of an analytical study of all confidential Vedic scriptures. This was in compliance with the order of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Thus one can understand the most confidential devotional service of Vrndavana. PURPORT This proves that bona fide devotional service is based on the conclusions of the Vedic literature. It is not based on the type of sentiment exhibited by the prakrta-sahajiyas. The prakrta-sahajiyas do not consult the Vedic literature,... The prakrta-sahajiyas do not realize that they are violating the orders of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, who specifically said that to understand Vrndavana and the pastimes of Vrndavana one must have sufficient knowledge of the sastras (Vedic scriptures). As stated in Srimad-Bhagavatam (1.2.12), bhaktyд зruta-gеhйtayд. This means that devotional service is acquired from Vedic knowledge. Tac chraddadhдnдщ munayaщ. Devotees who are actually serious attain bhakti, scientific devotional service, by hearing Vedic scriptures (bhaktyд зruta-gеhйtayд). It is not that one should create something out of sentimentality, become a sahajiya and advocate such concocted devotional service. We have already given the names of four books compiled by Sanatana Gosvami. Similarly, Srila Rupa Gosvami has also compiled many books, which no one can even count. I shall therefore enumerate the chief books compiled by Srila Rupa Gosvami. He has described the pastimes of Vrndavana in thousands of verses. Madhya 1.38 Sri Rupa Gosvamis nephew, Srila Jiva Gosvami, has compiled so many books on devotional service that there is no counting them. The most famous and formidable transcendental literary work is the book named Gopala-campu. In this book the eternal pastimes of the Lord are established, and the transcendental mellows enjoyed in Vrndavana are completely described. Thus Srila Rupa Gosvami, Sanatana Gosvami and their nephew Srila Jiva Gosvami, as well as practically all of their family members, lived in Vrndavana and published important books on devotional service. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said, "According to the verdict of the sastras, the process of hearing and chanting is the best means to attain loving service to Krsna. "This process entails hearing, chanting and remembering the holy name, form, pastimes, qualities and entourage of the Lord, offering service according to the time, place and performer, worshiping the Deity, offering prayers, always considering oneself the eternal servant of Krsna, making friends with Him and dedicating everything unto Him. These nine items of devotional service, when directly offered to Krsna, constitute the highest attainment of life. This is the verdict of the revealed scriptures. When one comes to the platform of loving service to Lord Krsna by executing these nine processes beginning with hearing and chanting, he has attained the fifth platform of success and the limit of lifes goals. In this Age of Kali there are no genuine religious principles other than those established by Vaisnava devotees and Vaisnava scriptures. This is the sum and substance of everything. In Srimad-Bhagavatam (11.19.17), it is said: зrutiщ pratyakсam aitihyam anumдnaа catuсцayam pramдлeсv anavasthдnдd vikalpдt sa virajyate "Vedic literature, direct perception, history and hypothesis are the four kinds of evidential proofs. Everyone should stick to these principles for the realization of the Absolute Truth." The more one hears the pastimes of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu with faith, analytically studying them, the more one attains the ecstatic riches of love of Godhead. sastra-yukti nдhi jдne dетha, зraddhдvдn ‘madhyama-adhikдrй’ sei mahд-bhдgyavдn "One who has attained the intermediate stage is not very advanced in sastric knowledge, but he has firm faith in the Lord. Such a person is very fortunate to be situated on the intermediate platform." ...In Vrndavana there are prakrta-sahajiyas who say that writing books or even touching books is taboo. For them, devotional service means being relieved from these activities. Whenever they are asked to hear a recitation of Vedic literature, they refuse, saying, "What business do we have reading or hearing transcendental literatures? They are meant for neophytes." THEY POSE THEMSELFS TO BE TOO ELEVATED to exert energy for reading, writing and hearing. However, pure devotees under the guidance of Srila Rupa Gosvami reject this sahajiya philosophy. It is certainly not good to write literature for money or reputation, but to write books and publish them for the enlightenment of the general populace is real service to the Lord. That was SRILA BHAKTISIDHANTA SARASVATIS opinion, and he specifically told his disciples to write books. He actually preferred to publish books rather than establish temples. Temple construction is meant for the general populace and neophyte devotees, but the business of advanced and empowered devotees is to write books, publish them and distribute them widely. According to SRILA BHAKTISIDHANTA SARASVATI, distributing literature is like playing on a great mrdanga. Consequently we always request members of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness to publish as many books as possible and distribute them widely throughout the world. By thus following in the footsteps of Srila Rupa Gosvami, one can become a rupanuga devotee. Srila Narottama dasa Thakura says, sadhu-sastra-guru-vakya, cittete kariyд aikya. One should accept a thing as genuine by studying the words of saintly people, the spiritual master and sastra. The actual center is sastra, the revealed scripture. If a spiritual master does not speak according to revealed scripture, he is not to be accepted. Similarly, if a saintly person does not speak according to the sastra, he is not a saintly person. Sastra is the center for all. "One who is expert in logic, argument and the revealed scriptures and who has firm faith in Krsna is classified as a topmost devotee. He can deliver the whole world." O Sanatana, you should broadcast the revealed scriptures on devotional service and excavate the lost places of pilgrimage in the district of Mathura. Establish devotional service to Lord Krsna and Radharani in Vrndavana. You should also compile bhakti scripture and preach the bhakti cult from Vrndavana PURPORT Sanatana Gosvami was enjoined (1) to broadcast the revealed scriptures on devotional service and establish the conclusions of devotional service, (2) to reestablish lost places of pilgrimage like Vrndavana and Radha-kunda, (3) to establish the Vrndavana method of temple worship and install Deities in temples (Sri Sanatana Gosvami established Madana-mohana temple, and Rupa Gosvami established Govindaji temple.), and (4) to enunciate the behavior of a Vaisnava (as Srila Sanatana Gosvami did in Hari-bhakti-vilasa). In this way Sanatana Gosvami was empowered to establish the cult of Vaisnavism. As stated by Srinivasa Acarya: NANA-SASTRA-visaranaika-nipunau sad-dharma-saаsthдpakau lokдnда hita-kдriлau tribhuvane mдnyau зaraлyдkarau rдdhд-Krsna-padдravinda-bhajanдnandena mattдlikau vande rьpa-sanдtanau raghu-yugau Sri-Jiva-gopдlakau "I offer my respectful obeisances unto the six Gosvamis, namely Sri Sanatana Gosvami, Sri Rupa Gosvami, Sri Raghunatha Bhatta Gosvami, Sri Raghunatha dasa Gosvami, Sri Jiva Gosvami and Sri Gopala Bhatta Gosvami, who are very expert in scrutinizingly studying all the revealed scriptures with the aim of establishing eternal religious principles for the benefit of all human beings. Thus they are honored all over the three worlds, and they are worth taking shelter of because they are absorbed in the mood of the gopis and are engaged in the transcendental loving service of Radha and Krsna.” Crowds of people came to see Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu from that day on, and scholars of various scriptures discussed different subject matters with the Lord. When people came to Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu to discuss the principles of various scriptures, the Lord defeated their false conclusions and established the predominance of devotional service to the Lord. With logic and argument He very politely changed their minds. Completely rejecting all religious activities which are materially motivated, this Bhagavata Purana propounds the highest truth, which is understandable by those devotees who are pure in heart. The highest truth is reality distinguished from illusion for the welfare of all. Such truth uproots the threefold miseries. This beautiful Bhagavatam, compiled by the great sage Sri Vyasadeva, is sufficient in itself for God realization. As soon as one attentively and submissively hears the message of Bhagavatam, he becomes attached to the Supreme Lord. The pastimes of Lord Krsna are the essence of all nectar. They flow in hundreds of rivulets and in all directions. The pastimes of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu are an eternal reservoir, and one is advised to let his mind swim like a swan on this transcendental lake. With all humility, I submit myself to the lotus feet of all of you devotees, taking the dust from your feet as my bodily ornaments. Now, my dear devotees, please hear one thing more from me. That Absolute Truth without a second is Lord Krsna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. He is the supreme truth in the past, present and future. That is the evidence of all revealed scriptures. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said, "Srila Rupa Gosvamis elder brother, whose name is Sanatana Gosvami, is such a wise and learned scholar that no one is equal to him." Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu praised the metaphors and other literary ornaments of Srila Rupa Gosvamis transcendental poetry. Without such poetic attributes, He said, there is no possibility of preaching transcendental mellows.
  20. **The intimate sakhis of Srimati Radharani are Her personal expansions kaya viuha (in tattva) and Her dasi servants (in rasa). ***In tattva Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is Krsna. From the point of view of rasa Caitanya Mahaprabhu is Srimati Radharani, as he said to Ramananda Raya I have now converted My body and mind into the ecstasy of Srimati Radharani; thus I am tasting My own personal sweetness in that form. CC M-lila 8.288. Lord Caitanya madhurya rasa or no?
  21. ***2 long 'a's = A A => RAdhA Yes - radhA ***Kailasji, u wrote: "My heart prompts me where I best I shall be deceived." Please clarify. Supersoul it directs there, where our desires will be carried out. therefore it is not possible to say that the voice of heart it is absolute. As a rule we want material life and spiritual life simultaneously. Therefore the indication of shastry is higher than the "voice of heart". "voice of heart" indicates the gradual process as a rule, not on the straight line. this is a complex question. Therefore entire formula is such guru-sadhu-sastra not only guru not only sastra not only sadhu this is not correct guru-sadhu-sastra take diksa guru, many siksa guru, sastra, all reason too. Like as hristianity - "all hard, all reason." Not only hard, reason too. You will excuse for my English. This can be again understandably not written. not "clean heart will not give good advice". /images/graemlins/smile.gif
  22. ***When sadhakas study and learn these verses, deeply meditating within themselves on their meanings while taking harinama, they will act as stimuli to fully experience the bhava described in the verse above. Then ones mind will not wander here and there. We should not just walk around talking to others while chanting, but taking the mala we should sit in a solitary place and give it our mind and heart. Our previous acaryas chanted all night long, meditating on one sloka after another. For half an hour the waves of the bhava of one particular sloka would be coming to them: sometimes they would be fully submerged in those waves, sometimes they would rise to the surface and float on those waves, and then they would move on to the next sloka. As they did this more and more the whole night would pass, and where it went, they would not know. This is the traditional method of bhajana. If we feels rise abhout this it is wery well. But bhakti yoga have many stages. Bhakti it is active samadhi. After departure Lord Caitanya His preachings slowly fall in bhajananda. It is for influence materialism.
