  3. He, 1896, Bhaktivinoda Thakura wanted to introduce this Krsna consciousness movement by sending this book, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, His Life and Precepts. Therefore all such followers should not make comments sastra on Srila Prabhupada and if they will want that it is possible to follow simply to this sastra and it is obvious that anybody from them has not surpassed Prabhupada and nobody will surpass. He thus worships the Lord by the process of unalloyed devotional service. " CC Madhya 22.24 " The living entity is bound around the neck by the chain of maya because he has forgotten that he is eternally a servant of Krsna. " Madhya 20.117 " Forgetting Krsna, the living entity has been attracted by the external feature from time immemorial. Therefore the illusory energy (maya) gives him all kinds of misery in his material existence. "

  7. Nor does the Supreme Lord assume anyone’s sinful or pious activities. Embodied beings, however, are bewildered because of the ignorance which covers their real knowledge. PURPORT The Sanskrit word vibhu means the Supreme Lord who is full of unlimited knowledge, riches, strength, fame, beauty and renunciation. He is always satisfied in Himself, undisturbed by sinful or pious activities. He does not create a particular situation for any living entity, but the living entity, bewildered by ignorance, desires to be put into certain conditions of life, and thereby his chain of action and reaction begins. A living entity is, by superior nature, full of knowledge. Nevertheless, he is prone to be influenced by ignorance due to his limited power. The Lord is omnipotent, but the living entity is not. The Lord is vibhu, or omniscient, but the living entity is aлu, or atomic. Because he is a living soul, he has the capacity to desire by his free will. Such desire is fulfilled only by the omnipotent Lord. And so, when the living entity is bewildered in his desires, the Lord allows him to fulfill those desires, but the Lord is never responsible for the actions and reactions of the particular situation which may be desired. Being in a bewildered condition, therefore, the embodied soul identifies himself with the circumstantial material body and becomes subjected to the temporary misery and happiness of life. The Lord is the constant companion of the living entity as Paramдtmд, or the Supersoul, and therefore He can understand the desires of the individual soul, as one can smell the flavor of a flower by being near it. Desire is a subtle form of conditioning for the living entity. The Lord fulfills his desire as he deserves: Man proposes and God disposes. The individual is not, therefore, omnipotent in fulfilling his desires. The Lord, however, can fulfill all desires, and the Lord, being neutral to everyone, does not interfere with the desires of the minute independent living entities. However, when one desires Kеслa, the Lord takes special care and encourages one to desire in such a way that one can attain to Him and be eternally happy. The Vedic hymns therefore declare, eсa u hy eva sдdhu karma kдrayati taа yam ebhyo lokebhya unninйсate. eсa u evдsдdhu karma kдrayati yam adho ninйсate: “The Lord engages the living entity in pious activities so that he may be elevated. The Lord engages him in impious activities so that he may go to hell.” (Kauсйtakй Upaniсad 3.8) ajпo jantur anйзo ’yam дtmanaщ sukha-duщkhayoщ йзvara-prerito gacchet svargaа vдзv abhram eva ca “The living entity is completely dependent in his distress and happiness. By the will of the Supreme he can go to heaven or hell, as a cloud is driven by the air.” Therefore the embodied soul, by his immemorial desire to avoid Kеслa consciousness, causes his own bewilderment. Consequently, although he is constitutionally eternal, blissful and cognizant, due to the littleness of his existence he forgets his constitutional position of service to the Lord and is thus entrapped by nescience. And, under the spell of ignorance, the living entity claims that the Lord is responsible for his conditional existence. The Vedдnta-sьtras (2.1.34) also confirm this. Vaiсamya-nairghелye na sдpekсatvдt tathд hi darзayati: “The Lord neither hates nor likes anyone, though He appears to.”

Bhakti may be considered in three stages, called guna-bhuta, pradhana-bhuta and kevala, and according to these stages there are three divisions, which are called jnana, jnanamaya and rati, or prema—that is, simple knowledge, love mixed with knowledge, and pure love. By simple knowledge, one can perceive transcendental bliss without variety. This perception is called mana-bhuti. When one comes to the stage of jnanamaya, one realizes the transcendental opulences of the Personality of Godhead. But when one reaches pure love, one realizes the transcendental form of the Lord as Lord Krsna or Lord Rama. This is what is wanted. As we have explained, in worship of the Lord there are three stages—jnana, jnanamaya and rati, or love. Sutapa and his wife, Prsni, inaugurated their devotional activities on the basis of full knowledge. Gradually they developed love for the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and when this love was mature, the Lord appeared as Visnu, although Devaki then requested Him to assume the form of Krsna. To love the Supreme Personality of Godhead more, we want a form of the Lord like Krsna or Rama. The word rati is explained in the Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu (1.3.41) as follows: "When a tenderness of the heart is manifest, there is rati, or attachment. Those who are interested in being liberated from material bondage must manifest this tenderness called rati." This attachment is not like material attachment. When one is liberated from material contamination, the awakening of attachment for Krsna's service is called rati. In the material world there is attachment for material enjoyment, but this is not rati. Transcendental rati can be awakened only on the spiritual platform. "These are the words of the Supreme Personality of Godhead: "When one's intelligence is fully attached to My lotus feet but one does not render practical service, one has attained the stage called santa-rati, or sama. Without santa-rati, attachment to Krsna is very difficult to achieve." Madhya 19 212. Then Thakura Haridasa replied, "Yes, I could understand your intention and who has sent you. I knew everything. But because you have come to my shelter, I stayed here for three days just to convert you. Otherwise I would have gone the very same night from this place. So anyway, you have come to your senses. Now give up this nonsense business. Sit down here and you also chant Hare Krsna ... I am going from this place." So that prostitute became a great devotee. She also. This is the touchstone. Touchstone. This is called atma-rati. So this is called rati. Spontaneous attraction. This is called, it has not to be taught, spontaneous. Isvara Puri "The seed of devotional service next fructified in the form of Sri Isvara Puri, and then the gardener Himself, Caitanya Mahaprabhu, became the main trunk of the tree of devotional service." PURPORT Sri Isvara Puri was a resident of Kumara-hatta, where there is now a railroad station known as Kamarhatta. Nearby there is also another station named Halisahara, which belongs to the Eastern Railway that runs from the eastern section of Calcutta. Isvara Puri appeared in a brahmana family and was the most beloved disciple of Srila Madhavendra Puri. To teach others by example how to be a faithful disciple of one’s spiritual master, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, visited the birthplace of Isvara Puri at Kamarhatta and collected some earth from his birthsite. This He kept very carefully, and He used to eat a small portion of it daily. Sivananda Sena "Srila Sivananda Sena experienced the three features saksat, avesa and avirbhava. Later I shall vividly describe this transcendentally blissful subject." Paramananda Mahapatra "King Prataparudra of Orissa, the Oriya devotees Kaneananda and Sivananda, Paramananda Mahapatra, Bhagavan Acarya, Brahmananda Bharate, Sri Sikhi Mahiti and Murari Mahiti constantly associated with Caitanya Mahaprabhu while He resided in Jagannatha Puri." In the Caitanya-bhagavata, Antya-lela, Chapter Five, Paramananda Mahapatra is described as follows: Paramananda Mahapatra was among the devotees who took birth in Orissa and accepted Caitanya Mahaprabhu as their only asset. In the ecstasy of conjugal love, he always thought of Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Bhagavan Acarya, a very learned scholar, was formerly an inhabitant of Halisahara, but he left everything to live with Caitanya Mahaprabhu in Jagannatha Puri. His relationship with Caitanya Mahaprabhu was friendly, like that of a cowherd boy. Vasudeva Datta "Please take care of Vasudeva Datta's family affairs. Become his manager and make the proper adjustments. PURPORT Both Vasudeva Datta and Sivananda Sena were living in the same neighborhood, which is presently called Kumarahatta or Halisahara. Srivasa Thakur "The Lord stayed at Raghava Pandita's place for only one day. The next morning, He went to Kumarahatta, where Srivasa Thakura lived." PURPORT After Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu accepted sannyasa, Srivasa Thakura due to separation from Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu left Navadvepa and went to Halisahara to live. Vasudeva Datta stayed at Srivasa Pandita's house, and in the Caitanya-bhagavata it is described that Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu was so pleased with Vasudeva Datta and so affectionate toward him that He used to say, I am only Vasudeva Datta's man. My body is only meant to please Vasudeva Datta, and he can sell Me anywhere. Thrice He vowed that this was a fact and that no one should disbelieve these statements. All My dear devotees He said, I tell you the truth. My body is especially meant for Vasudeva Datta. Vasudeva Datta initiated Sri Yadunandana Acarya, the spiritual master of Raghunatha dasa, who later became Raghunatha dasa Gosvame. After this function at the house of Srivasa Thakura, Nityananda Prabhu appeared, and when He met with Lord Caitanya He got the opportunity to see Him in His six-armed form. PURPORT The form of Nao-bhuja, the six-armed Lord Gaurasundara, is a representation of three incarnations. The form of Sri Ramacandra is symbolized by a bow and arrow, the form of Lord Sri Krsna is symbolized by a stick and flute like those generally held by a cowherd boy, and Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu is symbolized by a sannyasa-danda and kamaeoalu, or waterpot. **************** Thereafter the Lord charitably bestowed His benediction upon all His devotees. He gave the remnants of His food to Narayani, showing her special respect. There was a tailor who was a meat-eater but was sewing garments for Srivasa Thakura. The Lord, being merciful to him, showed him His own form. Saying - I have seen! I have seen! and dancing in ecstatic love as though mad, he became a first-class Vaisnava. In ecstasy the Lord asked Srivasa Thakura to deliver His flute, but Srivasa Thakura replied, Your flute has been stolen away by the gopis. Hearing this reply, the Lord said in ecstasy, Go on talking! Go on talking!. Thus Srivasa described the transcendental mellow pastimes of Sri Vrndavana. In the beginning Srivasa Thakura described the transcendental sweetness of Vandavana's pastimes. Hearing this, the Lord felt great and increasing jubilation in His heart. Thereafter the Lord again and again asked him, Speak on! Speak on! Thus Srivasa again and again described the pastimes of Vrndavana, vividly expanding them. Adi 17.237 Srivasa Thakura extensively explained how the gopis were attracted to the forests of Vrndavana by the vibration of Krsna's flute and how they wandered together in the forest. Adi 17.238 Srivasa Pandita narrated all the pastimes enacted during the six changing seasons. He described the drinking of honey, the celebration of the rasa dance, the swimming in the Yamuna, and other such incidents. When the Lord, hearing with great pleasure, said, Go on speaking! Go on speaking! Srivasa Thakura described the rasa-lila dance, which is filled with transcendental mellows. ********************** In His incarnation as Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, Lord Sri Krsna descended to deliver all the living beings in the three worlds, from Brahmaloka down to Patalaloka. He caused their deliverance in three ways. The Lord delivered the fallen souls in some places by meeting them directly, in other places by empowering a pure devotee, and in still other places by appearing before someone Himself. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu delivered almost all the fallen souls by directly meeting them. He delivered others by entering the body of Nakula Brahmacare and by appearing before Nasiahananda Brahmacare. I shall deliver the fallen souls. This statement characterizes the Supreme Personality of Godhead. PURPORT The Lord always manifested His avirbhava appearance in the following four places: (1) the house of Srimati Sacimata, (2) wherever Nityananda Prabhu danced in ecstasy, (3) the house of Srivasa (when kertana was performed), and (4) the house of Raghava Pandita. Lord Caitanya Himself appeared in these four places. When Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was personally present, anyone in the world who met Him even once was fully satisfied and became spiritually advanced. Every year, devotees from Bengal would go to Jagannatha Puri to meet Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, and after the meeting they would return to Bengal. Similarly, people who went to Jagannatha Puri from various provinces of India were fully satisfied after seeing the lotus feet of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. People from all over the universe, including the seven islands, the nine khaeoas, the planets of the demigods, Gandharvaloka and Kinnaraloka, would go there in the forms of human beings. ******* The Lord's chariot passed over the seven islands of the middle universe, each with its ocean and its seven principal mountains. Then it crossed the Lokaloka boundary and entered the vast region of total darkness. In that darkness the chariot's horses lost their way. Seeing them in this condition, O best of the Bharatas, Lord Krsna, the supreme master of all masters of yoga, sent His Sudarcana disc before the chariot. That disc shone like thousands of suns. The Lord's Sudarsana disc penetrated the darkness with its blazing effulgence. Racing forward with the speed of the mind, it cut through the fearsome, dense oblivion expanded from primeval matter, as an arrow shot from Lord Rama's bow cuts through His enemy's army. Following the Sudarcana disc, the chariot went beyond the darkness and reached the endless spiritual light of the all pervasive brahma-jyoti. As Arjuna beheld this glaring effulgence, his eyes hurt, and so he shut them. From that region they entered a body of water resplendent with huge waves being churned by a mighty wind. Within that ocean Arjuna saw an amazing palace more radiant than anything he had ever seen before. Its beauty was enhanced by thousands of ornamental pillars bedecked with brilliant gems. In that palace was the huge, awe-inspiring serpent Ananta Sesa. He shone brilliantly with the radiance emanating from the gems on His thousands of hoods and reflecting from twice as many fearsome eyes. He resembled white Mount Kailasa, and His necks and tongues were dark blue. Arjuna then saw the omnipresent and omnipotent Supreme Personality of Godhead, Maha-Visnu, sitting at ease on the serpent bed. His bluish complexion was the color of a dense raincloud, He wore a beautiful yellow garment, His face looked charming, His broad eyes were most attractive, and He had eight long, handsome arms. His profuse locks of hair were bathed on all sides in the brilliance reflected from the clusters of precious jewels decorating His crown and earrings. He wore the Kaustubha gem, the mark of Srivatsa and a garland of forest flowers. Serving that topmost of all Lords were His personal attendants, headed by Sunanda and Nanda; His cakra and other weapons in their personified forms; His consort potencies; and all His various mystic powers. Lord Krsna offered homage to Himself in this boundless form, and Arjuna, astonished at the sight of Lord Maha-Visnu, bowed down as well. ********* Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu enjoys His pastimes with His immediate expansion Nityananda Prabhu. His pure devotees and His three purusa incarnations always accompany the Supreme Lord to propound the sankirtana movement. (Adi. 7.18-19 purport)
  19. "Vasudevam sarvam iti" means that spiritual emotions gradually become mature and are perfect. All is supervised by Krisna or internal energy. Krisna is present at a sound. We as are interested with each detail connected to Krisna. When gopis have met Krisna on Kuruksetra it is the strongest moment. This sight between Krisna and gopis it is especial. Krisna it is most attractive during this moment. First there was this life Vrindavana which will seemed to go eternally. Then Krisna has gone in Mathura and heart gopis was simply broken off, when the chariot began to disappear from a kind. But they have not gone in Mathura because they follow this internal mood of fidelity. All pure devotees follow such especial mood of fidelity. For example as Yasoda connected Krisna a cord. But mood gopis that they do not rush after Krishna. They would not want that Krisna leaved - " the downpour let will begin and never will end, never. Let rain pours eternally, that Krisna would remain here ". But Krisna has left also the ambassador all it has been executed non-material feelings. And further time has stopped. One second of 12 years, the second second of 12 more years, is not present a gleam. But gopis did not go anywhere. Gopis - " Mathura such big city, Krisna now is well-known, and we simple girls Vrindavana, villages how we can seem there? Queens Dvaraka and Mathura are so beautiful, what we, simple herdesses in comparison with them? " This mood, does gopis especially attractive for Krisna. Krisna thinks in Dvaraka of them, they think in Vrindavana of Krisna. But gopis think - " Krisna it is so beautiful, all girls Mathura already belong to it. But ... we, we, we.. " They simply cry, because they cannot go in any comparison with queens Dvaraka. We can understand their feelings? Eventually Krisna is not present c them, therefore it is possible to speak everything, but Krisna here is not present, Krisna in Mathura. Whether they do not know they will meet Krisna in general once again! They to hope, hope, but Krisna does not come. They to hope, but they as accept the everything else! For this reason there Is this statement - " I have nothing to pay back them. " For THIS love gopis. (Obviously that sermon Srila Prabhupada makes a start from such moods and such mood will gradually bring us to some understanding of this meeting on Kuruksetra.) As as gopis are pure and are not envious, therefore they are pleased to all news about Krisna. They are happy as that Krisna has found such great success including having married on 16000 queens. They envy certainly queens and each of gopis can dream only what to leave in marriage for Krisna. Therefore Krisna does not descend from a lotus of their heart never, under all circumstances. They are happy that His happy, instead of that they are happy. Whether it married on queens, whether he battles is to girls as it is pleasant to see beloved by the hero. And Krisna likes especial type of fidelity, as a matter of fact it not especial type of fidelity, it is pure fidelity or the perfect fidelity. Gopis are so modest, that do not apply at all on what after Krisna has left. Gopis the most trusted satellites of the God, but in this case they would be glad though only to look once again at Krisna. Such fidelity, such love, captivates Krisna. They accept that He has left, they accept that it has chosen others. They accept even that possible it in general can not return. It also is the perfect spiritual humility and spiritual love. But Krisna it is happy in Dvaraka and all gopis want to listen to these news. And then on Kuruksetra they again meet. After these games Vrndavana has passed how many that of time. Feelings gopis became stronger. Yes, such situation does their feelings in relation to the God even more strongly and more strongly. Krishna looks more chivalrous and is covered with a few dust and glory of all of His fights and feats. It is dressed as prince in gold ornaments and it behaves as always easy. It on a way to the native village, such, very native. It recollects everything, including gopis. It knows everything, including them completely disinterested fidelity. On Kuruksetra much who meets Krisna, his relatives and friends, and during this moment when all of them meet, there comes this pause. But this pause actually concerns only He and gopis. Because first of all He sees only them. All last lilas Vrindavana and it is especial years of His absence are carried by between them. And gopis look at him and they see as far as Krisna is attractive. It is attractive it not that word, it simply does not leave their eyes. And Krishna sees as far as their love to they is great. And hardly later gopis understand that Krishna has returned to them. It not warm friendly or related attitudes, it something another. It as not attitudes Dvaraka though refer to such attitudes can in a word. Though such attitudes can formally concerns to one category, but these are absolutely different attitudes.... Krishna the God and consequently it the expert of pleasure. That the God submits all the qualities, is His eternal position. That that Krisna can make for example happy anyone, it is quite possible for him, it a source of all and all qualities. It knows heart of everyone, therefore these games of an inner world do not stop for one instant. All are happy in His society. But Krisna also the maximum expert on pleasures or spiritual happiness. Therefore it knows as to increase this pleasure repeatedly, how to make this happiness special. And this special happiness will consist in such pure fidelity gopis to Him. This special happiness gopis and this special happiness of Krisna. And the reason of such mentality gopis, is KRSNA, please, agree with it. /images/graemlins/smile.gif The essence of fidelity gopis which does their so charming Also is those.! That Krishna the center of all and independence of Krishna simply strengthens such attitudes. But on the external plan in this meeting on Kuruksetra friendly and related attitudes are more shown, and all gopi bhava is latent in the greater degree. It is not shown by all and to everyone, because such behaviour, it as a part of this mood. It is a little more, and later again begin game, the jealousy and not clear image combined humility and rebelliousness again will begin. Rukmini devi reflects humility Srimati Radharani, and Satyabhama for example, reflects pride Srimati Radharani more. Or, in the other case, one wing reflects more humility, another pride, but all this in an ideal is combined. This spiritual alternation of pride and humility for example, essence of all occuring events Vrindavana lila. But on Kuruksetra such relation reach the peak because these attitudes and love, are shown there in all essence. Later gopis again will start that to be at war among themselves for Krisna to abuse Krisna, to glorify Krisna, to send it of a note, and Krisna will discuss with Subala those or other tactical actions. But force of all of their attachment to Krishna will be shown as and in separation good luck. Madana-Mohan, the one who brings happiness both in attachment and in separation. The God of love and the God of separation.

The same Syamasundara-vallabha is now present as Gadadhara Pandita. Formerly, as Lalita-sakhi, she was always devoted to Srimati Radharani. " Therefore worship Gaura Gadadhara this worship in mood Laksmi or Rukminidevi "Gadadhara Pandita’s pure ecstatic love for Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was also very deep. It was like that of Rukminideve, who was always especially submissive to Krisna." But in the SUPREME sense worship Lord Caitanya as to Krishna, actually is rasa bhas. "Svarupa Damodara Gosvami has described Lord Caitanya as Krsna Himself with the attitude of Radharani, or a combination of Radha and Krsna. The intention of Lord Caitanya is to taste Krsna sweetness in transcendental love. He does not care to think of Himself as Krsna, because He wants the position of Radharani. We should remember this." Instead of being blessed, the foolish imitators are left completely apart. Their concoctions are against the principles of Lord Çré Caitanya Mahäprabhu. The doctrine of transcendental enjoyment by Krsnacannot be mixed up with the doctrine of transcendental feeling of separation from Krsnain the role of Rädhäräëé.
