  1. I think you are mistaken Prabhu. I disagree with anadi on plenty of matters, but this one I believe he is 100% correct. If Bhakti were milk, you would say 'milk' when referring to it. If it were mixed with an impurity, say chocolate, you would say 'chocolate milk'. If it were made into butter would you still call it milk? In SCSMath when we talk about Bhakti, we aim at the highest thing, we aren't talking about a watered down or mixed version of the thing, it is the highest thing we strive for, that we worship. I believe this is true in ISKCON as well. We are specific when referring to mixed Bhakti and usually are describing that mixed situation if we are speaking about it at all.
  2. OH- Prabhu, bist du so falsch! Deutscher ist die Sprache von transcendental ecstacy! Einfach sehen, wie freundlich es die Zunge ausspeichert! Krieg ist nicht die Antwort, nur Liebe Haß erobern kann! Oder sagt so Marvin Gaye!
  3. Sorry to hear you have had it so rough. Just remember we are all crazy, that's why we're here in this material world. If we were sane we would be like the other 99% of Jivas that chose to happily serve.
  4. I'm truly sorry you feel hurt. That wasn't my intention.
  5. Who is taking advantage of you? It was a joke.
  6. Why doesn't that surprise me ? Just kidding, I couldn't resist the joke , but it does make me think of my concerns that no certifiably crazy demoniac persons get in positions of power in your DVD movement. How this all will be implemented in your society will be interesting. What is the progress anyway, are you guys screaming at the wind or do you have actual traction, at least in Alachua?
  7. So what are these mind sets? Who is Prabhupadanuga and who isn't?
  8. You have a zoo at your temple? Wow! I hope you have a swell time with your kid.
  9. I only asked about prabhupadanuga because I haven't heard the acharya used with 'anuga' by other maths. Not all Srila Swami Maharaj disciples refer to it like that either, so I just wanted clarification. Of course the parampara starts with your Gurudeva, but in SCSMath it is taught we are in the Rupanuga Sampradaya, never "Sridharnuga" or "Govindanuga". Just different semantics I guess.
  10. Yeah, false renunciation is almost worse than no renunciation. It seems like the desire is never addressed, just the behavior, and at some point the person explodes like a volcano. And even worse is trying to put others under the illusion you follow when you don't. I drink coffee and have caffeine. There, I said it. It's out in the open.
  11. My understanding is the regulative principals are like training wheels, as well as the number of rounds to be chanted. They are necessary in that they guide you in the proper behavior and keep you from falling. When you actually learn to ride the bike they can be discarded. But then you are riding the bike correctly and not falling down. I guess what I'm saying is you need them until you become Krishna Conscious, and when you are you won't do those activities anyway. So no need for training wheels. A pure devotee isn't thinking, 'gee, it would be nice to eat a cow but I have to stick to the four regulative principals. How about a beer instead? Maybe I can get one at the casino, there are lots of pretty girls there.' Their activity isn't based on following the rules and regs but naturally do anyhow without thought of diverging.
  12. It would be nice to have direct quotes if possible. Please make them as possible to understand the context in which they are said as well.
  13. Can someone define prabhupadanuga for me? Are you no longer rupanuga? I mean no offense, I just don't know how to take that.
  14. Google is your friend! Click here for the font
  15. I just got a 64-bit laptop and I'm not sure the Vedabase will work on it, since Folio may be a bit long-in-the-tooth as software goes. So before I fork out $$$ can anyone confirm this? Here's that Vedabase alternative BTW Only $9.95! I wonder if it works with 64-bit machines?
  16. Sorry Prabhu, I didn't mean it to say that you had, only that I wanted to be clear that I myself wasn't saying that. I know it could be misunderstood.
  17. The concept that a physically present spiritual master is needed seems to me to put a limitation on Guru and Krsna. If Guru wants to make Himself known without a physical representation, can't He? Is it impossible for Him to do so? I doubt that! We know Caitya Guru is there for sure, no one denies this, but is He limited to needing outside contact to have a full relationship with the disciple? Is there a catalyst necessary for full spiritual growth on the outside? Couldn't this all happen internally? I personally need my Gurudeva on the outside because for years I tried to only hear from with in myself, also in books but I was the one writing the purports in my head. I only came to the Vaisnavas when I admitted defeat and that I needed the help of physically manifest Guru. So while I agree with theist in principal, in practise I would never recommend someone only look within for Guru. To me that is terrible advice and harmful to one's prospects for success in spiritual life. But it is up to each individual to surrender and if some can't accept those purporting to be Guru that they meet (bonafide or bogus), then who is to blame them? If they sincerely surrender to Caitya Guru within won't they get the highest benefit? Also theist in my opinion does have a spiritual master on the outside, Srila Swami Maharaj. He never took formal initiation but theist follows Him, He guides him, there is a relationship there and He is present giving His instructions in His books. Theist isn't solely looking to Caitya Guru but to Sadhu and Sastra. Who is to say this isn't a real connection? Because you feel the disciple is limited are you limiting Guru as well?
  18. So still at work and don't have much time to read through this to find who is a bona fide Ksatrya per Srila Swami Maharaj , but for those who had their varna identified by Him or other exalted Vaisnavas, maybe you can share the experience, what was said, the context etc. That would be interesting and nourishing to hear.
  19. I didn't say it did, it was just the spark for the question of where women fit into the varna system, since they are grouped with sudras in the purport.
  20. You sure assume a lot. Sometimes a question is just a question and you read a lot into things and assume the BS is outside of yourself and miss it on the inside. I'm done with this, simple questions should be simply answered. Hari Bol. I sincerely wish you guys the best. I know your intentions as good and hope you are successful in your service to Srila Swami Maharaj.
