Hari OM: If Nothing (zero) is a wrong word, then please define the cause of bad and evil things in the world (read my first thread) As per my "Theory"- since Brahamam is "Nirguna" i.e., zero, the bad and evil things in this world are automatically created (or manifested) to compensate the good things so that the total is zero ( both in macroscopic - the universe level and microscopic the Jiva level) Now if you think this theory is wrong please explain the cause for presence of evil

Hari OM: Ashoka become too idealistic and after the Kalinga War and he declared "War is a Crime" (very similar to Gandhi). He turned fully into spiritual thoughts and at the same time was unable to leave the comforts of a King's life. Since Varanashrama Dharma does not allow a Kshatriya to renounce war, he renounced the Dharma itself and embraced Buddhism. It was very convient to him since he can concentrate more on spiritual side within the comforts of a kingdom (the kingdom acquired and protected by the wars of his fore fathers) Seeing him (he was an emperor) and because of his active preaching many kings left Dharma and embraced Buddhism. i think probably when muslims invaded india there were about 50-60% non-Varansharma kings . Instead if real Kshatriya kings were ruling exactly as per Dharma, the invasion itself would not have happened (due to the spiritual and military power Dharma gives to its people) Fortunately since 100% kings didn't leave Dharma, muslims were not able to completely supress India (like Persia , Assryia, Mespotmia, etc.,) The remaining kings were fighting Valiantly for almost 1000 years (even though History texts mention only Shivaji and Krishna Deva Raya) there were countless unknown kings fighting to protect Dharma. But for them Dharma would have disappared from India long time back and even Europe would have fallen and no Renissance would have taken place, with the Europeans becoming power ful enough to stop and contain the Spread of Islam. So these kings bought time for both Hinduism and Europeans from the invading muslims. yes, there are two many idealistic people all over the world, who even though have very lofty ideas like universial love , can't understand the practical situations (these same people will not hesitate to kill a Thief entering their house, however they will preach love to a Terrorists who had killed hundreds of people and looted thousands of houses) since terrorists and hypocrites are growing in number, i would rather say, instead of worrying about them or fighting them, turn your attention towards Krishna and start reading Gita [----However don't read Gita and expect a Promotion in the Job or fall of lottery kind of thing, just focus on Him] , remember in Kali yuga just chanting His name will give us liberation, so let us do that always , any other thing we do should not obstruct this primary job.

Hari OM: you are saying both knowledge and ignorance arises from Brahamam. so the sum total of both is zero and Brahamam is Nirguna, correct? that is my intial thread. yes i correct myself, that anhiliation does not occur during life time of Brahamam , both knowledge and illusion remain (i think illusion is as necessary as knowledge for the cycle to continue) when i say sum, i actually mean the mathematical sum, not the physical summing of knowledge and ignorance and annhiliating each other. in summary, the Brahamam creates (or manifests) equal and opposite qualities (gunas), the sum of these qualities is always zero so Brahamam remains Nirguna always even though manifesting so many things, at the end of creation the opposite things physically meet and anhiliate each other , called Pralaya.

Hari OM: "how can diversity come from a perfect unity? " because He thought so, as stated in Upinashd, "Let Me be Many" - no other cause or reason could have (even existed) made it many. However the many now (you and i) can again make it ONE, since due to beyond our capacity. an example- even though the government represents the group of people (in a democracy) it is much more power ful than any individual or group of individual or even all individuals put together

Hari OM: here is my theory about illusion. illusion is a mental concept (like anger, sad...). illusion arises from lack of knowledge about something (either we don't know about it at all, or had forgotten after knowing) So the counter-part of illusion is knowledge, illusion about some thing gets anihilated when the knowledge about that thing is acquired. the next question i am thinking now is- ego what is the negative of that ?

Hari OM: dear guest, please read the full thread, understand and reply, please don't reply point by point. i had asked to explain the differences found in the universe without making statements like "God is biased or all events are random" now i can't understand why you are refuting those two statements. [ that is not my statements, i am just asking you don't include those statements in your reply, since it would be false] When they say God is love do they mean "Bhagavan" or "Brahamam" as God.

Hari OM: Yes i agree with you prefectly But now where are the Kshatiryas and where are the Brahamans, the Vedic Dhrama started corrupting from the beginning of Kali-Yug itself, it reached the maximum corruption due to king Ashoka (if muslims had invaded before Ashoka they would not have even got 10% of the current victory) So now who is the protector of Dharma, the stupid and corrupt polticians, who are trying to increase muslim population by any means (including importing from Bangladesh) so that their party can come to power and they can have multiple wives legally. People trying to protect Dharma has to fight against criminals, police, judicary and journalists. i think it is only by gods grace Hinduism is able to withstand the slaughter for the last 1000 years. A small group of people may survive until Kalki comes. i would be happy if the Dharma regains its glory, even though the chances "appears" to be slim, but i would rather request all our Sagadharamis, instead of getting frustrated/angry with the current developments, turn your attention from social/religious/national/career problems to spiritual. i am not telling that every body should leave all their duties and become sanyasis, rather do your duties but focus your attention on God, don't worry about other problems, step into KarmaYoga ---FAST, since the time window may be closing. PS: being an enunch at the time of requirement is not so bad, remember Arjun remained an enunch for one year

Hari OM: The total, i.e., the Sum total of all Parts-remain changeless, i.e., zero While the Parts are always changing (i.e., constantless) but each part is compenstated by some other part (instaneously within microseconds) and the total remains Zero "always" Also "God" in english means both "Bhagavan" and "Brahamam" , people generally associate God with Bhagavan, no equivalent term for Brahamam in english. i am discussing only about Brahamam here, not Bhagavan, Bhagavan may or may not be Nirguna, i dont know. But Brahamam should be Nirguna, other wise quite difficult to explain good/bad things in world and the Karma theory. Any one else please try to explain the above two issues without touching two points - God is biased (He favours some and distrubs some) - All events are completely random without any basis whatsoever Regarding "illusion" i am still thinking about and will come back with a reply when i get.

Hari OM: dear Guest , not all theories in Science have proof, for example the origin of universe has three theories- "The Big Bang", "The steady state" and "The Quasi Steady state", none of the theories have a concrete proof, other wise only one theory would remain. Similarly the Quark theory, the Strings Theory, Cosmological constant, Space-time curvature, nothing has proof, all are just theories, even some theories which have proof are just logical or infered proof, not observational proof. For example the theory sun light has seven colours is an observational proof, that you can pass sun light through a prism and see the seven colours, but the theory nuclear fusion takes place inside sun is not an observational proof, only a theortical one (by observing the spectrometer of suns electromagentic spectrum and infering that if such and such wave lengths are present, then such and such chemicals (e.g., Helium, Deterium) should be present, and if such and such chemicals are present then Nuclear Fusion should be taking place) In mathematics , there are 13 basic theorems can't be proved , and all other theorems (or axioms) can be prooved only based on these. Mathematics has a seperate chapter called "Proof by induction" i.e., if a theorm is true for "1", "n" and "n+1" then it is true for all numbers, no need to check it against all numbers] The "Proofs" for my axiom - Sri AdiShankaracharaya states that "Brahamam is Nirguna" [ ref book VivekaChudamani authored by him] "Everything is Brahamam" is a vedic statement. The conclusion is my inference. Negative form, means people having material form but with negative mass [ please read in some science magazines what is meant by negative mass and negative energy, too big to explain here] if there is no negative equivalent of illusion and can't be anhiliated , then how does illusion comes to end? ( it should meet with some thing to come to end, right?) Just for Fun, the opposite to writing in an internet forum, is the reading from a interent forum

Hari OM: "do not question our belief as it is also our right to profess our religion" my sincere advice is let them question our belief, even we should question our own beliefs. Questioning is like the poision (the alakala type) but if you consisently and sincerely proceed with the process, you get the nectar. There is Lord Shiva (in you) to help you absorb that alakala poision, so don't be afraid in questioning. Regarding Islam, even though it has some good points and produced some scholars, because of its various interperations by various mullahs (specifically regarding what is Jihad) it has created more confusion and terror in the minds of people. But as they say , "whatever happened is happended for good" and is god's action, i think all these confusion may actually help in all non-muslims attaining the heaven or even liberation smoothly, even though they may have to pay a price of difficult life in this earth.

Hari OM: dear friends, combining three replies in one post, please bear with me. 1) Maadhav----- yes in Satya yuga most people in THIS world would have been good, but there must have been a Kali Yuga in some other world, so the net effect is zero 2) Govindram---- i didn't say Brahamam is formless, some manifestations of Brahamam have a positive form, some have negative form (i.e., may be material body made up of negative mass) and the sum total is zero. 3) Guest--- complex question, couldn't come up with a proper reply, illusion by its definition is not real, so i can think of only two replies- two different types of illusory energy and the sum total is zero, illusion matches with reality (Bhagavan aspect) and both cancels zero (i.e., similar to God and Satan concept), but i find both of these answers are not satisfactory to myself, will try to think further.

Hari OM: "If you are now speaking, it is something, and this something is inside brahman, so brahman cannot be nothing" In my speech i am producing some amount of acoustic energy and some amount of intelligence (or foolishness), i would assume that the same amount of negative acoustic energy and same amount of foolishness (or intelligence) is produced some where by some body else, hence the sum is Zero. So even though, i a part of Brahaman does produce Something , there is another part of Brahaman somewhere producing an equal and opposite thing and in effect Brahaman produces nothing.

Hari OM: The two basic concepts of Vedic dhrama- The Karma Theory and the Nirugna Brahamam seems to be related as follows: 1) Brahamam is Nirguna (i.e., Attributeless, neither good nor bad, neither bright nor dark, neither positive nor negative, etc., etc.,) 2) Everything is Brahamam But we see good people, bright spots etc., this apparent contradication can be resolved by "The sum total of everything is nothing always at all the time". The number of good people in the universe is equal to number of bad people,the number of positive charge is equal to number of negative charge, the amount of clockwise momentum is equal to the amount of anticlockwise momentum (this has been proven experimentally that if the direction of rotation of one electron is changed , instantenously another electron changes its direction), and this would remain the same way, no body can change it, i.e., if you make one guy good (or rich), some where some body else will make another guy bad (or poor). This also implies to the individual soul (Jiva), the total sum of experience he passes through all his births is Zero, ie., he will be rich and healthy in one birth, poor and sick in another birth and so on. Even if you make some body rich or healthy in this birth, he has to suffer in next birth due to "Karma" balance. i think this is what Bhagavan means when he defines Karma as "Visarga of Spirits" at the start of creation, i.e., the Karma balancing effect starts at that point. if any body has another alternate explanation (i.e., valid one, not the usual reply - "Your argument is nonsense/ rubbish/silly" kind), please let me know.

Hari OM: i had not read about dinosaur , but i have a doubt that the huge skeletons found may be that of asurs like Narka"asur", Thena "Asur" etc., This is purly my assumptions, please don't ask any proof, i have none...

Hari OM: it is good that you are thinking and able to come to good conclusions, but are missing subtle points. if that child, accusses you of blasphemy, for calling her Mommy as Aunty, and tries to behead you, what will you do, will be smiling or running away for life?

Hari OM: i agree with your saying that Puranas (most of them) should not be taken literally, but these are also not pure mythology (myth means lie). Rather they are allegorical, i.e., Puranas tell the deep truths found in Upanishads, which is complex to understand for an average human, in a simple story format, easy to understand. For example the story (in the earlier post) of Brahama having five heads and losing one later , actually signifies- 1) Brahama denotes every living person (rather the life energy of every person) 2) The five heads-denotes the five level of consicouness- waking, dreaming, sleeping, Truya and Truyathia. 3) The loss of the fifth head (Truyathia) denotes the loss of "Nirguna" aspect of Brahama , own daugther is referred here, since the whole universe is made of Brahamam itself Same kind of allerogical meaning can be found in many stories and there are also stories in Upanishads, where the meaning of the story is also written along side. For example the story of two parrots enjoying a fruit, one actually eating it and another is a witness, found in Sandhokgya Upanishad Now compare this with the story in Bible, Adam (Athmam) is just a witness and helper to Eve (Jiva) for enjoying the fruit (apple or the sensual pleasures) , tempted by snake (Kundalini) and thus loosing the Paradise (The samdihi state). Then both the stories are very similar and are even complementary to each other. But now most of the people can't understand the allegory or the symbolic meanings and they just start taking it literally or throw away as myth. Read more to understand more.

Hari OM: As per the modern science, Synsthesia denotes a person having sense, which can perceive additional characters , supposed to be perceived only by other senses, for example when a man sees Blue, he also feels sweetness in his mouth. This is considered a disease and some treatments are recommended. Svetshawara Upanishad states, all the Lord's Senses are Divine, i.e., each sense can do what all the other senses are supposed to do, at the same time. So i think the Synsthesist "patients" may be actually not patients but slightly more divine than normal human beings.

Hari OM: i had just read it in some Puranas. Sakthi unable to bear the insults showered on her husand by her father commits suicide. Shiva becomes very angry and starts dancing with her body, the body gets torn apart into 64 pieces and falls in 64 places in earth and is called the "Sakthi sthals" (and further story says that she is born as the daughter of Himayavan and marries Shiva again) this seems to be a common story found in many puranas , including the Shiva Puranas, if you are feeling hurt due to that, sorry i can't do anything, i am not the author of Puranas. Regarding Blasphemy, another story from Puranas- Sage Kapila kicks Vishnu in his chest, Kanappa Nayanar worships Shiva with meat and blood carried in his mouth, i don't know whether these are classified as Blasphemy or not. And from that story what i read also, Shiva didn't became angry when many people insulted him, He just remained calm, He became angry only after Sakthi commited suicide.

Hari OM: "I'm saying that the human being as a sperm is only a body for this life". This looks logical, there is not enough data, currently how the soul gets a physical form. [ even though there are lot of material available on what happens, after death, very less available for before birth] your statement, the souls assumes different forms seems to be logical, however as per your definition, does Ovum also has a Soul? if yes then the resulting baby has two souls?

Hari OM: my dear sister, i had woken up now and understood all are "ONE". now i am going to spread this message. i saw in a ship, some times back, a clean white man, giving orders, and some body in dirty blue dresses, doing what he is saying. What a stupid, foolish, ignorant setup, i am going to tell them , "Look all are one, either all of you give command or all of you execute the command, what non-sense is this one is giving command and another is executing it, our dear sister does not like all these things, change NOW"

Hari OM: i think you are mixing so many issues (from Satsras, upanishads, modern day issues, novels, cinemas,etc.,) and creating a mixed vegetable rice pulao. if all are one, then from whom you are expecting respect? can the existing "ONE" can respect or humiliate itself?

Hari OM: Brahamam is the substance which existed and is existing, on which the whole idea of universe rests (and no it does not get "bored" it is called nirguna- one without qualities) Brahaman is the Personal form of this substance, i.e., the controller of this substance, it can be called Narayana, Paramatama, Krishna, Mahadeva, Ganesha, Para Sakti and whatever name you like and whatever form you like, it is both form and formless, beyond words and imagination, whatever you say about that Person may not be wrong (or may not be correct) Brahama is a function of that Form which is interested in creation of universe, That single Form does multiple functions, and for each function sages has assigned a name, form and characteristics (but as told in Gita, even though He does so many things, in actuality He is a non-doer) Brahmin is one of the four Varnas of the Human society.

Dear AJ, University does not matter for knowing the truth, you just need some common sense and a "DESIRE TO KNOW THE TRUTH". " They think that God is four armed , carries a discuss and can only be worshipped by sanskrit mantras" i agree that this is not the "ONLY", but i don't think you will be dare enough to agree that this is also "ONE of the WAY" and "WORSHIPPING FORMLESS GOD THROUGH ARABIC MANTRAS IS NOT THE ONLY WAY" if You (or your group) would have agreed this, then they would not be breaking the temples for the last 1000 years, instead they would have concentrated on THEIR way of worship. now as for humans originating in India, already i told it is my hypothesis, since as per Hinduism humans originated millions of years back, and all the world was a single continent millions of years back. would you please kind enough to say what your university tells about the origin of Human race , not the usual Adam/Eve Rubbish, there is no "proof" for that theory, it is still being hotly debated - the main point being, can a entire race spawn out of a single couple- possibility of one in million, because if there were only one couple and they just produced 4 sons and 4 daughters (with probability of infant survival is less than 25% ) then the population would remain just one couple for thousands of years, i.e., if no wild animals kill that couple before reproduction. Hinduism states that human race was created with 60,000 men and a equal number of women (Prajapathis), here the chance of survival is more.
