it is a symbolic way of saying - voluntarily - that she has surrendered fully to her husband provided the husband stays within dharma, and treats her per dharma. xian culture alwasy incites competition between husband and wife. not in hinduism - vedic culture. hindu family shares responsibilites, and does not compete within, but coopertes.

thanks Ganeshprasad ji. you understand me. this "guest" who live here is determined to not understand me. so i appreciate any help from any one in favor of the points i make. if/when i find i was wrong or erred, i have no hesitation to accept and correct it. as a hindu, the truth is most important for me, us, all. but because the truth is silent and inert, we need to reveal it as we know for our good.

i agree. your understanding is correct, but the xians do not understand it. consequently they think you are a weak hindu and pro xian, and think that xianity is better than hinduism. and they keep on converting the hindus in varous cunnning ways. try to bring some xian in a temple and see how they react. find ways to stop xians convert hindus in india. also, your going to a church also could inspire other hindus go there, and if the do not know hinduism better and well, they will become xians rather thanhindus. so your going to a church sets a wrong example for other hindus and children. those who live by ganga maiya do not need to go to any other water source. when you have hindu dharma, you do not need to go any where else. such a behaviour will set a right example for others. could you agree?

gohsts are the jivas in limbo state after they quit a body. they have acute deirires but cannot get a body to take a birth. so they try to possess weaker jivas in a body to satisfy their desires. when a jiva is a devotee of hanuman or krishna, then no ghost can posseess that jiva. a ghost can try to scare any person, but if that person just remembers hanuman or krishna at that time, then the ghost would immediately disappear. a krishna devotee usually feels pity on a ghost rather than getting afraid of him. the example of gokarna in bhagaatan is proof of this. on amavasya, the ghost do not get stronger, but most jivas get weaker some what. this makes the goshts take the oppertunity. all ghosts are not bad guys, but most are. hope this helps.

let us sincerely pray to krishna that he will inspire thousands of preachers to bharat first to spread dharma there, and then after in the whole world.

dear priya_ vaishnvaa, thank you for such a nice post! you are an intellectual kshatriya! keep up. this is what i pray to krishna that most HK's and Hindus become intellectual kshatriyas, if they cannot become a physical ksnatriyas. (and all do not need to become physical kshatriyas, only a few if/when necessary.) when it is shown logically and rationally that the competing barbaric ideologuies have no real ground to stand on, no person with sane mind will follow it. and then the god given dharma - sanatana dharma - will be understood and followed by many. peace is possible then. again, dhanyawad!

ganesh is mainly worshipped so that you would succeed in your good endevours. Every religious ceremony starts with ganesh worship. "murphy" does not bother a ganesh worshipper. know more and more about ganesh, and develop love for him. then pray him to succeed in your good efforts/actions/plans. a simple mantra for him is: sri gaNeshhya namaH. (I surrender to sri ganesh.)

you can cover head -hair- with a scarf. Fold the square scard over a diagonal. That diagonal goes above the eyes and around teh head at the back wher you can tie teh ends with two knowts. The middle corner gove over the had and back at the knot. A woman can use a bit bigger scarf, but the diagonal goes from top front face down to under the chin where a knot can be tied or teh ends can be kept loose and hanging. the middle part goes over the head and hans below teh neck at the back. Full face stays visible. by doing this one respects sikh tradition. hope it helps.
