  2. SYNONYMS om -- O my Lord; namah -- offering my obeisances; bhagavate -- unto the Personality of Godhead; vasudevaya -- unto Vasudeva (the son of Vasudeva), or Lord Sri Krishna, the primeval Lord; janma-adi -- creation, sustenance and destruction; asya -- of the manifested universes; yatah -- from whom; anvayat -- directly; itaratah -- indirectly; ca -- and; artheshu -- purposes; abhijnah -- fully cognizant; sva-rat -- fully independent; tene -- imparted; brahma -- the Vedic knowledge; hrida -- consciousness of the heart; yah -- one who; adi-kavaye -- unto the original created being; muhyanti -- are illusioned; yat -- about whom; surayah -- great sages and demigods; tejah -- fire; vari -- water; mridam -- earth; yatha -- as much as; vinimayah -- action and reaction; yatra -- whereupon; tri-sargah -- three modes of creation, creative faculties; amrisha -- almost factual; dhamna -- along with all transcendental paraphernalia; svena -- self-sufficiently; sada -- always; nirasta -- negation by absence; kuhakam -- illusion; satyam -- truth; param -- absolute; dhimahi -- I do meditate upon. TRANSLATION O my Lord, Sri Krishna, son of Vasudeva, O all-pervading Personality of Godhead, I offer my respectful obeisances unto You. I meditate upon Lord Sri Krishna because He is the Absolute Truth and the primeval cause of all causes of the creation, sustenance and destruction of the manifested universes. He is directly and indirectly conscious of all manifestations, and He is independent because there is no other cause beyond Him. It is He only who first imparted the Vedic knowledge unto the heart of Brahmaji, the original living being. By Him even the great sages and demigods are placed into illusion, as one is bewildered by the illusory representations of water seen in fire, or land seen on water. Only because of Him do the material universes, temporarily manifested by the reactions of the three modes of nature, appear factual, although they are unreal. I therefore meditate upon Him, Lord Sri Krishna, who is eternally existent in the transcendental abode, which is forever free from the illusory representations of the material world. I meditate upon Him, for He is the Absolute Truth. __ http://srimadbhagavatam.com/1/1/1/en1 In case you didn't notice thats the FIRST VERSE!!!!!!

  4. This is of no particular person: They say they are in 'Iskcon'. Slowly they say they are no pure devotees in the World. But you may find who nos? Right? Mental manipulation games..they don't want you to know who or what they are about. Secrets and lies. Then booom. Why don't you goto Bangalore Prabhuji? Oh that IRM devotee {who blashpemes devotees is ok really}. We though are not Ritivks. Oh no don't say we are. No. We are just following Prabhupada orders. We are NOT ritivks. Don't Prabhu fight so much. Now I just think they devotees and so am I. But I know I don't trust people so much. To much secretative persons {who are devotees} may have hidden agenda. Vaishnava's are open people thats the conclusion.
  5. The devotee Bhagavata is a direct representative of Bhagavan, the Personality of Godhead. So by pleasing the devotee Bhagavata one can receive the benefit of the book Bhagavata. Human reason fails to understand how by serving the devotee Bhagavata or the book Bhagavata one gets gradual promotion on the path of devotion. But actually these are facts explained by Srila Naradadeva, who happened to be a maidservant's son in his previous life. The maidservant was engaged in the menial service of the sages, and thus he also came into contact with them. And simply by associating with them and accepting the remnants of foodstuff left by the sages, the son of the maidservant got the chance to become the great devotee and personality Srila Naradadeva. These are the miraculous effects of the association of Bhagavatas. And to understand these effects practically, it should be noted that by such sincere association of the Bhagavatas one is sure to receive transcendental knowledge very easily, with the result that he becomes fixed in the devotional service of the Lord. The more progress is made in devotional service under the guidance of the Bhagavatas, the more one becomes fixed in the transcendental loving service of the Lord. The messages of the book Bhagavata, therefore, have to be received from the devotee Bhagavata, and the combination of these two Bhagavatas will help the neophyte devotee to make progress on and on. --
  6. The only other person 'disguised ritvik.' is Living Entity. But you know that already. Don't you?
  7. "Krishna I am Yours!" then immediately Krishna will accept you. He is there in your heart, but you can't cry out to Him. Your heart is filled with such filth, such duplicity and crookedness. You are never simple. And Krishna knows it. -- Now! according to the article you need simple heart. Another person reading the above will think the above means you don't need Guru. I loved that article. ty!
  8. I was just wondering what devotees thought. Guru-kripa.? That letter was to His disicple {initiated}. I don't see how that has anything to do with me. Except now it does. { I am initiated }. Serving Guru.
  9. I know its meant to be sarcastic. I just hate it.
  10. Who you are attracted to. Yashoda mayi thinks Krishna is just her son. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif Hare Krishna
  11. Yes, indeed it leads to Bhakti-yoga {buddhi-yoga} Grihastas preach as well. Hare Krishna
  12. Bhakti-yoga. To get to the point of Bhakti-yoga you work. {karma-yoga} then later {much later} Karma is washed away. This path is recommended to all who work. Work without devotion is nothing. A person in factory working for his family, and another person doing same but also for satisfaction of Vishnu. Prabhupada mentions that this art must be learned. From your Gurudeva. Laskmi is Lord Vishnu consort. Using this for Vishnu {the laskmi} pleases Vishnu. A normal family man may not do this. Bg.2.39 Purport {extract} There is much difference between work in Kåñëa consciousness and work for fruitive results, especially in the matter of sense gratification for achieving results in terms of family or material happiness. Buddhi-yoga is therefore the transcendental quality of the work that we perform. -- Read the full purport again to that verse. From www.vedabase.net It says Buddhi yoga or Karma-yoga is same as Bhakti-yoga. Work in devotion. Hope that helps. jai sri NITAI jai prabhupada
  13. That Krishna expands as the 3 Vishnu expansions. Then it goes on to say that what you just did. So considereing these points it says ...In the ?? Incarnation..advented Himself.. To let us know of different expansions. {incarnation}. There must be so many ways to describe different incarnations like Narada Muni is mentioned as Incarnation..etc. You would not say he is Vishnu-Tattva. He is empowered. So just consulting one verse is not really viable. {guru/sadhu/sastra} you need 3 of these to understand. Thats why Prabhupada provides Purports. From Krishna {disicplic succession from Lord Brahma} Brahma Madhva Gaudiya Sampradaya. Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu declared the same {Incarnation of Krishna} Himself. Krishna is the source of all Incarnations whether pleney or part of the plenery portion. All expansions. What does rest of Bhagavatam say /images/graemlins/blush.gif Jai sri NITAI
  14. Hare Krishna AGTSP.......... I want to know opinion of devotees. Guru is not issue here. We all agree we need. Book Bhagavata--Impersonal aspect Person Bhagavata--Personal aspect If by approaching Book Bhagavata you don't approach Person Bhagavata then you are being a Mayavadi {one who thinks he is God}. The Person Bhagavata is the full manifestation of the Book Bhagavata. In its Devotional Potency. A book is Impersonal {partial representation of Lord Krishna} The person is the Full Representation {living entity}. So without both you cannot have neither. Agreed? nashta-prayeshv abhadreshu nityam bhagavata-sevaya bhagavaty uttama-sloke bhaktir bhavati naishthiki SYNONYMS nashta -- destroyed; prayeshu -- almost to nil; abhadreshu -- all that is inauspicious; nityam -- regularly; bhagavata -- Srimad-Bhagavatam, or the pure devotee; sevaya -- by serving; bhagavati -- unto the Personality of Godhead; uttama -- transcendental; sloke -- prayers; bhaktih -- loving service; bhavati -- comes into being; naishthiki -- irrevocable. TRANSLATION By regular attendance in classes on the Bhagavatam and by rendering of service to the pure devotee, all that is troublesome to the heart is almost completely destroyed, and loving service unto the Personality of Godhead, who is praised with transcendental songs, is established as an irrevocable fact. PURPORT Here is the remedy for eliminating all inauspicious things within the heart which are considered to be obstacles in the path of self-realization. The remedy is the association of the Bhagavatas. There are two types of Bhagavatas, namely the book Bhagavata and the devotee Bhagavata. Both the Bhagavatas are competent remedies, and both of them or either of them can be good enough to eliminate the obstacles. A devotee Bhagavata is as good as the book Bhagavata because the devotee Bhagavata leads his life in terms of the book Bhagavata and the book Bhagavata is full of information about the Personality of Godhead and His pure devotees, who are also Bhagavatas. Bhagavata book and person are identical. 15. He never says you not need Guru. Stop trampling on ppls faith.
  16. Thiest That knowledge of who is your guru is directed to us from Supersoul. This is basic Bhagavad gita. So I am saying that one should consult Supersoul and pray to be directed by Him to the one He knows will directyou straight to Him. - To that.
  17. That pleasing Guru is not boring mundane task set on by Supersoul. Krishna is more pleased when you serve His devotee. Just wanted to say this lol
  18. Yes, follow Guru. Don't make things up. Thats what you just did. Otherwise your nowhere. What did you learn from the books thats the test. Did you intrepretate in your own way?
  19. lack of Krishna Consciousess. To solve with this. Change consciousess. what do you say?
  20. An older relative once told me,"I believe in God, I just don't let Him interfer with my life." Will that person be saying this on death-bed?
  21. I talked with one person today, Hindu I asked if he had read Gita. His exact words were 'don't be boring'.
  22. Just looking at swami.org I found this about faith: Swami B. V. Tripurari. {extracted} My point is that however strong our arguments are, there are counter arguments to them. We will see ours as correct and definitive because of our faith, as we should. Faith is not less than reason. It is greater than reason, as it has the power to reveal the whole truth. Therefore before we think that the logic of our side on any issue is definitive in and of itself, and march out to conquer the world with it, only to find equally well reasoned arguments on the other side of the fence, we would do well to understand that the basis of our knowing is faith, divine experience in connection with a real sadhu. Otherwise, when reason fails to satisfy the opposition, or one cannot answer to opposing logic, one's 'komala sraddha' can be damaged. What is komala sraddha? It is faith in the reasoning and scriptural interpretations of one's group that does not fare well in the face of opposing views. Faith in the reasoning of our group is only as valuable as it begets faith that reaches beyond reason - guru-nistha - that plays out into intensified spiritual practice and experience. If we have this, even if we cannot counter everyone to the satisfaction of all concerned with reason and scripture, our position remains the same, and this posture is itself reasonable from a spiritual point of view. Indeed, if we have real guru-nistha that generates intense spiritual practice, our example and underlying spiritual experience speak louder than any argument, and this is precisely our position in relation to the reforms of Bahktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura. They cannot be explained to the satisfaction of all parties, but his personal spirituality cannot be denied by anyone other than the spiritually blind. We, his followers, would do well to practice intensely and experience deeply if we are to uphold his legacy. If convincing logic comes from anywhere it is from this. Therefore this must be stressed, and this is what I did in the answer under discussion. ..
  23. I need it. KEEN INTEREST ON THE SONGS OF NAROTTAMA THAKUR Srila Maharaj liked the songs written by Narottama Thakur. The songs which are loved by Maharaj, written by Narottam Thakur are, "Gora Panhu na Vajiya mainu" and Narottama Dasa "kene nagela mariya". He says that the songs written by Lochana Dasa are good but advisory. Similarly the songs written by Bhakti Vinoda Thakur are systematic but those are only his feelings. The songs of Narottam Dasa Thakur have great impact on the neophytes. "The Prema Bhakti Chandrika" of Srila Narottam Thakur is the best of all his songs. He tells about the preaching in West Bengal. Srila Jajabar Maharaj had a good voice and he was also a good singer. While Srila Keshaba Maharaj was doing kirtan Srila Maharaj rythmically used to repeat the same song. At the time of preaching he used to sing with other sannyasis.
  24. Krishna to Sri Uddava * "The Supersoul alone is the ultimate controller and creator of this world, and thus He alone is also the created. Similarly, the Soul of all existence Himself both maintains and is maintained, withdraws and is withdrawn. No other entity can be properly ascertained as * separate from Him, the Supreme Soul, who nonetheless is distinct from * everything and everyone else. The appearance of the threefold material nature, which is perceived within Him, has no actual basis. Rather, you should understand that this material nature, composed of the three modes, is simply the product of His illusory potency." -- by the way I had to read this verse 10 times before I got it. What does the Purport say? *Krishna expands as Supersoul, use of the word Created. Next Krishna says *that nobody is seperated from Krishna. Then * say He is seperate from everybody same as in Gita. Krishna says although he is expanded still he is seperate. Clear /images/graemlins/grin.gif Jai SRI NITAI!! /images/graemlins/laugh.gif
