  1. Thank you for the links, I have to install winamp and such before i download the songs. How do I send them to her, remember she is in Madagascar so the quality of computers there isnt that great. WHat does SDL mean anyway?
  2. I was talking to a Prabhupad Disciple from Seatle and I told him "although I am worried, my does chant a couple of rounds" He replied "hey, thats better then some devotees" We had a chuckle at that one. YOu are right, I shoudnt preach but should lead by example. I am a husband first then a preacher. She looks for me for love, respect, honor, protection and trust. I should give her all of that and then tell her about krsna consciousness when it chooses to arise. Thank you. Hare Krsna
  3. i wish to thank you again. I was wonedering one thing however and that is since my wife is new to Krsna consciousness what quotes from Prabhupad or Bagavat gita should I send her. Again she has never heard of Iskcon before she met me, she just chants the Hare Krsna Maha Mantra which is still great but what do u think I should send her that is not overwhelming and yet easy to understand. Something in french prefered as she is fluent in French. hare Krsna

I also want Narshima prayers and anything important that I should get. I am going to send them to my wife so she can get a jist of Krsna conciousness. Is there anything on this site that will give me the links to it. I want everything people, cmon. give it to me. Also good quotes from Prabhupad regarding krsna consciousness and good Bhagavat gita quotes. I hope I am doing the right thing.

  11. This is an article on The Anglican Journal today regarding restricting conversions of lower caste Indians into Christianity. New Delhi, India - Churches in India face a mighty challenge as the nation's government plans to bring in a new law to prevent religious conversions among Hindus across the nation. The law has no approval yet from the Indian parliament but proposal papers for the rule are currently with the Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for consideration. The government is led by the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP); that party and its sibling organizations have long opposed conversion of Hindus into Christianity and Buddhism. “This rule is not against conversion. We are just trying to regulate forcible conversion,” says Bizay Sonkar Shastri, chairman of India 's program for the protection of lower castes and tribal peoples. “Our aim is to ensure that secular nature and the principles of equality are not violated by conversions.” But the proposals can acquire fearsome proportions once implemented. The proposed rule says it will insist on anyone wishing to change religion to apply with an affidavit before a district collector or equal authority. Further, a written order granting permission must be procured from the official. If violated, the person could be punished with a fine of 1,000 Indian Rupees ($29) a day from the date on which the conversion took place. In a country where 350 million people are illiterate and 260 million fall under the poverty line, the rules also demand aspiring converts to have undergone higher secondary education. Critics say the proposed rule is specifically aimed at Christian missions working among the poor, tribal peoples and Dalits, the low-caste Hindus. “This is nothing but an attempt to keep the Hindu caste system strongly in place,” says Rev. Ipe Joseph, general secretary of National Council of Churches in India . “This violates our fundamental rights and our spiritual rights. “The Christian idea of conversion is not changing one from one religion to another religion. It is the choice of one's conscience. How can any rule prevent that? Besides, we have many politicians who have not been to elementary schools. So how can they impose this ridiculous rule on the majority?” Anglican leaders like Mr. Joseph believe the church should stand up against the rule. “No lukewarm response is going to help,” he says. “We are born free and we believe Jesus is our saviour. But the church in India has not been able to stand up fiercely to defend our faith. It has responded in a subdued manner. Many church leaders still carry a ‘minority community complex.'” The move to bring new laws on conversion was abetted by ruling of India 's supreme court on Sept. 1. The court ruled that there was “no fundamental right to convert” anyone from one religion to another. But some assert that the propagation of any faith is still a fundamental right. “We are here to propagate the Gospel through our words and deeds and who can stop us from doing that?” asks Rev. Enos Das Pradhan, the general secretary of the Anglican Church of North India. New converts receive Bibles from evangelists in India. Church leaders say a proposed law restricting conversions violate Christians’ rights. [photo by JOSHUA NEWTON] Anglican leaders also point out that the church has to do some introspection. “The fanatics are emboldened to pull out such rules from their kitty simply because Christians in India are a divided lot,” says Mr. Pradhan. “So the first priority should be to start uniting. The (Anglican) Church of North India showed the way by uniting six large denominations in India . Such a process of unification should continue. Only then we can effectively fight such anti-social rules.” They also suggest treading carefully in a communally surcharged society. “I think some Christian organizations have to rethink their evangelist strategies. It is a volatile situation. We need not give the impression that we are here to convert the whole of India into Christianity. It will destroy the harmony remaining in our society,” Mr. Joseph adds. The new rule follows several public events in which massive numbers of lower caste Hindu Dalits embraced Christianity or Buddhism to escape caste discrimination within Hinduism
  12. Guest ji, thank you for your comments about just letting things go and I will because this wasnt the intention of mine to disrespect anyone. I just want to say that we shoudnt blame our stupidity on Krsna. Krsna gives us free will to come to the temple or not. If we dont go or dont want to go krsna fullfills that desire. If you want to remember krsna he will give you the ability and if you want to forget krsna krsna will you give you that ability as well. Hare Krsna
  13. hare Krsna prabhu. I think my mothers curse(if it was that) worked the opposite way. I got a job an hour after the so called curse was thrown upon me. Only krsna knows if I am sincere or not. as for me I just have to try to be sincere. hare krsna
  14. Dearest mother Vaisnaviji. Thank you for your kind words, they almost made me cry. In a world where no matter how much you respect someone you get kicked on we expect people who are closest to us to not to do that. Its ok when someone from the outside world kicks you but when its someone close to you there is no pain that can match that arrow that has peirced your heart. I understand that this is a turning point in my life. Krsna is guiding me to a new direction. He is showing me his mercy through allowing me to see the follies of the material world. As Prabhupad would say, this is no place for a gentleman. Thank you for giving me encouragment and giving me your kind words. Where do u go if your family doesnt listen right? I am ok though, this is a great learning experiance. Now I can be a better father and listen to my children instead of forcing their will on them for their own sense gratification. Lets not let people mistake your kindness and humbleness for a weekness. Krsna takes care of us. I have his devotees guiding me. I love my vaisnava devotees. Hare Krsna
  15. A simple post about something that is light always turns into a slap to a red headed step child. Whatever that means. lol Lets all take it easy now
  16. because I forgot to fast? wasnt buckwheat a character in SNL?
  17. thank you for defending me. I know I have to defend my wife's honor and there is no way he will get away with it again. Enough is enough, its time for a change. Ofcourse he isnt the only one doing this but i know he is one of the main ones. I think from now on I can play his game too, I think when I catch him giving me the evil eye I will just shake my head and smirk as if to say I feel sorry for you or something. Funny thing is that he is friends with my parents which explains why they are like that. A person is known by the company he keeps.
  18. Maybe the curse did occur as I forgot to fast. Can I redo my fast tomorrow or some other day. It sucks too, I mean I had to chant 25 rounds today but only did 16. Which hell am I going to go anyways Hare Krsna
  19. if it helps you become more stronger in your spiritual life then thats what that matters.
  20. unfortunatly my computer is not doing so well in that department. I will have to fix it. I will hear it though, not to worry. No more crazy chastisments please. Thank you ghari prabhu. Things are falling into place. The jigsaw puzzle is taking shape. This is just a partime job to start things off. After a little while I will get a better job. I just have to remember to take things one step at a time. Distributing books and such is going to help me do this job. Thank you for being there at every step. hare Krsna
  21. Thank you Myraji for the very nice letter. You are right, but when I try to talk something always blows up as they blame me for nothing and are completley in denial. So I try to avoid talking. I just have to remember krsna is the contoller and at the end whatever he has planned will happen. I have realised many times especially lately that "Man proposes, God disposes"
  22. I have to agree with the other 'guest' that you're focussing too much on material problems. Whilst its not possible to completely ignore these problems, I think your focus should be more on Krsna and chanting. All in my opinion, of course. Hare Krsna! Thank you very much for your opinion guest ji. It is very much appriciated. You are right when you express the opinion that I am focusing so much on my material problems but the thing is that the reason I come to these forums is because the devotees here give me strength to overcome that. It gets overwhelming when you are alone and cant associate with devotees physicaly so I talk to them here. When my parents dont listen to me where can I go right? But I am overcoming things now, I hope to hear your thoughts again. hare Krsna
  23. that is the question. Well why do you want to know if I am gujurati or not. Does it really matter if I say Kem cho or not? lol She was born in madagascar How do I know you are not one of those crazy guju spy's???
  24. No, my parents live here or why would I call them just to argue with them. That would mean I am quite an idiot. I call my wife in Madagascar though from time to time but she wants me to save money and she will call me. Oh the multiple god comment was real, the joke part was when i said wonder which of thse gods is the witness I only hope I can be a good parent. With a sense of humor Hare Krsna
  25. Your humbleness is captivating enough to be my siksa guru. I am fortunate you and devotees like you are here to help me through this. You guys have helped me from day one. Well Evil eye is powerless but it gives me the strength to feel like punching him in the face. At our Hare Krsna(Radha Madan Mohan temple) in Vancouver the Main deities are Radha Madan Mohan but at the side of the temple is Shiva, Parvati and Ganesh ji. Opposite from that is a corner where Ram, Sita Laxman Hanuman. I think its to appease the Indian congregation I dont associate with him, he just happens to find me from somewhere in the temple. I hate it when he pretends to be nice to me. Someone mentioned earlier that if He(guest) comes only once then he could be krsna. Well this guy comes late at night and even just opens the door and comes in without ringing the door bell or anything. If he is god then he is one hell of an annoying god. What does IMHO mean anyway? Hare Krsna
