I have no "ISKON" where I live. Its non existent for me. I heard about ISKON when I went to India and then when I was coming back home, a guy who sat next to me was a ISKON guy. There are no temples, no devotees, no vaishnavas where I live, I live in Long Island, no ISKON there. And also, my parents are overprotective of me, they don't let me go anywhere. So how the heck am I going to get a guru? I want to get a guru though, but its impossible. Thats the reason I asked if prabhupada could be my guru, but then there is another question about mental speculation. For instance, take people who become really delusional about religion that they do it completely wrong, due to "conditioning of the soul" . well, i don't want to turn out like that. I know , this stuff always sounds like dealing with "I". but its a real problem.

So, It proves that Krishna does not really care if you are Iskon, a muslim or a christian. Because those are like saying "He is my husband" , "He is my master" , "He is my father" . But he is the same. The people in koran even though they say evil things in koran, a person with some brains will think it over.

Even he says it : "‘Unless one is initiated by a bona fide spiritual master, all his devotional activities are useless. A person who is not properly initiated can descend again into the animal species.'" -by Chaitanya Mahaprabhu And either one finds the "Bona fide" spiritual master to go to krishna, Or one can sit and chant 24/7. No one can chant 24/7, but we can go to krishna by karma yoga, then that would mean I need a "Bona fide" spiritual master. Guruvani says it can be one from vaikunta, the other guest says it can not be from vaikunta! how the heck am I going to reach krishna when the devotees themselves contradict each other. And no, I am not blessed with the eyes of the seeker, cuz I just don't think I am. So, I am scared that I will be cheated upon. Getting along with the "rightful devotees", is not possible, because no one lives around where I live. So the whole thing is impossible! I guess I just have to go through all those species again. /images/graemlins/confused.gif

Why do people like Yuddistir, Srila Prabhupada and Buddha, also ofcourse Krishna act so nice to even the criminals? Do you have to act nasty to nasty. Doesn't that make you nasty?- just curious

Its true, they were killing people so that they can convert others through fear. However, now what they are trying to do is live peacefully. Give them a break! they are not barbaric hordes going around killing people anymore. (with the exception of lunatics like Osama bin ladin or Hamas etc). Most of them are good people, and just because 1 guy out of 100 is a lunatic, that does not mean every single one of them is bad! .

It could be just a hunch... however, I do not believe that you can control your brain waves that easily. It is just like the issue with "Sightings of UFO" . Most of them are not true, but may be there have been advancements that could lead to such research in the future, like in 1000 years. But we barely know what lobes function how in the brain. So, it is almost impossible that they can control our brains.

So, Can I take srila prabhupada to be my guru? Do you have to speak to your guru directly... then I would have a problem of taking srila prabhupada as a guru, because he is not here on this earth... I am still in dilemma

Is it impossible to reach krishna with out a guru? Aren't we all krishna's parts, so can't we just chant the name and do what we think is right and then just give up our life and go to krishna? Can we take prabhupada to be our guru? Can a guru be in heaven......... not on earth? Please some one answer me!

we are Americans... and hare krishnas , the only terror we spread is the terror of love. We love people , does that make us terrorists? if it does then we are... May be you should start checking out stuff on Hare Krishnas in the library... or some other place. Most of them are Americans , Indians, British... and Asian Indian Americans... You know Americans don't spread terrorism.. Neither do Indians ... nor do Asian Indian Americans. It is an honest mistake from you though, people look at the color of Indians and then mistake them for coming from Middle east. then they see, Hare Krishna stuff and find familiarity with the Middle eastern Muslim religion, I don't know how but most people do. In my view: Krishna is always sweet, He doesn't say " Hey Arjun, You are a fooL!, hahahaha! what a loser!" or he doesn't say " Yo! idiot! get up! and start fighting or your gonna die!" He says.. " Even though your words are of the wise, you speak foolishly..." He keeps mentioning arjuna as a very learned man... even though arjuna's intelligence does not compare to krishna's own intelligence. And you see, it is by the very fact of life that the sweetness in words melts the hearts of the hearer. Chaitanya and meera bai and all these guys don't use harsh words, but they use kind and gentle words... to explain themselves. Then again, you can say .. like shakuni..(A character in mahabharat , who uses sweet words to sweet talk people and then cheats on them) .... well you can't be like that guy... but if you are a devotee, it is better to say " Here dear, take this prasadham" than to say " Hey!, want to take this prasadham or not?" . Well, in my view , not talking sweetly will lead to misunderstanding and false ego.. . but thats just me...

It was so disgusting... I think i am going to delete my first post that said he is a great man! Yuck!. He might have material powers but even "demons" from Hindu Mythology and bad people have them, its not like he got it because of enlightenment or something!. Thanks for revealing the truth. Dear guests, Don't mind me saying this, but you both are misled with certain types of beliefs that are of no use, except for bashing each other's religions. Muslims are very wonderful and good people(most of them). I have many muslim friends , some are very strict in following their religion. For example, one girl in our school wears a head covering. Not sure why , but I guess thats her way of not leaving her culture and heritage behind...(she is from middle east). Anyway, The fact is simple, the terms "Hindu" and "Muslim" do not even make sense to krishna. In other words, such words are as meaningless as saying "I am Perfect" or " I am God" or "I am my body". In reality, just because you have been in the body that belongs to a hindu family does not make you a hindu... What if you (Guest who was bashing Islam here) was a Islamic warrior in the past? How do you know ? Are you going to kill yourself if you found out that you were?-- the answer would be no... and it would be ridiculous to kill your self just because you have done something in the past birth as an Islamic warrior. Again, the guy who was bashing Idol worship... You can bash any religion you want, because it is "NOT" yours. I can sit here and start bashing Islam, Christianity, Buddhism etc. because its not mine. But you see, that is a mistake, because when you start bashing, you do not realize that you are bashing because you have your own insecurities about your religion. There are two types of people, the people who try to reach perfection and go to allah by following his example and showing compassion to all. And the people like most muslim and hindu "activists" who bash other's religion for a selfish purpose--- gain a sense of power by converting other's to his/her set of beliefs. Pick one. Thank you.

All I said was "tamil ille ille" ... I think it translates into "Tamil , no no... " and every one started laughing at me... quite embarrasing. It is a vaishnava philosophy... which is not different from hindu philosophy, but it is not a religion.

In case of science, it has been proven to be true that male and female brains function in a different manner, but no sex functions better than the other on the overall perspective.

The necklace road is cool, The first time I went to india with my dad, one year ago, I saw it! it was fun. They have a big buddha statue there. They need hare krishna chanting there, there have been many terrible things going on there lately. When i went there, I heard an actress named prathusha was raped on the necklace road, its a dangerous place. we have to watch out for terrorists in that city. This is the clear proof that we are living in the age of kali by my view

You see, you are not contradicting anything... and I was simply getting to the truth. The brain is very flexible and it adapts to change, so, if a girl tries to focus on mathematics all her life then she will far exceed all the males as well as females. Same goes to men too, if a boy finds his niche in a subject like english and works hard, then he will definitely exceed all females as well as males. Due to the differences in male and female brain according to anatomy, it has been proven that males are more spatially inclined, thus doing well in things that require skills like mathematics and figuring out the basic distance. That does not mean, that women are just dumb in the area. Our brains have the power to deal with change, thats why our species have survived all these years.
