  1. dear guest, Can you elaborate on that issue a little more please? thanks!
  2. In reply to : ______________________ What effect does seeing this have on your opinions about abortion? _________ Now I feel bad about all this. You can't scrape off that little baby... its just wrong. But when I think about the mother then I think about her status... the whole thing is just so sad. I guess the only way to change this is to bring every one to a platform of KC and loving krishna. I thought they didn't abort fetuses if the pregnancy passed the third trimester, when the baby resembles a human. But I had no idea they take a little baby like that and shed it to pieces /images/graemlins/confused.gif . that is just so sad
  3. The pictures presented in the first article, they are very...effective.
  4. Ok i will stop posting more on this issue /images/graemlins/crazy.gif
  5. thank you! /images/graemlins/smile.gif I hope he does the same thing for me. Actually I envy the thief cuz he got to see krishna... /images/graemlins/blush.gif /images/graemlins/crazy.gif thanks again. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
  6. Anyway, as we look through the scriptures it does say it is wrong to eat meat. Then it advocates killing in bhagavath gita... I am getting mixed messages here. However, I do believe abortion is wrong, but wrong and right are not always the same thing. Something that is wrong can be right in an another instance. But then you can argue that whatever happens to you it happens due to karma and with such an understanding I guess abortion is wrong and you just have to suffer the consequences of your actions of the past. I don't care anymore! sheesh

  8. It is not mental speculation that says this but years of research... The fact that illegitimate births are the main cause of crime in America is supported by "The Coming white underclassmen" from a book "ReReading America" /images/graemlins/grin.gif
  9. Abortion can be looked at in two perspectives just like war can be looked at from both perspectives. Abortion is wrong because innocent babies who have no partaking in the parent's actions are hurt. -Yes However, when you look at abortion, it could be a way to abolish the suffering that will ruin the life of an innocent girl and also an innocent baby. A pen could be used to either spread the lies or spread the truth. It is the same with abortion. If abortion is not what krishna hoped for then how would it have come into existence? ___________________________ we cannot sit here and argue saying : "war is bad! war is bad, war is bad!" the same way, we cannot argue " Abortion is murder! Abortion is murder! abortion is murder!" Arjuna did the same thing and krishna stopped him. War can be used to both liberate and enslave people, and so can abortion liberate people from suffering or put them into more suffering. _____ My whole point relies on the issue that Abortion should be used to liberate them and not put them into more suffering, however you did refuse to understand by saying that what I say has no relevance and it is only "Me, Me, Me!". The only way any body is going to understand this issue clearly is if they try to comprehend both sides. But when you just bash one side with out showing any sign of comprehension then this whole message board with its notions on abortion is nothing but a place of mental speculation and simple maya. In my opinion, death is better than a life of enslavement, whether it is the enslavement of women or men. If you let the baby live and then send it some where for adoption , there are more chances that it will go into a life of crime and ruin others' lives. In reply to : ________ "Now you ask a new question: The very simple question is does a woman have the right to choose? Yes or no?" ________ A woman's body is her's she does not belong to the baby or to the man who made her pregnant. So neither you nor the guy responsible can stop her from doing something that she wants. Religiously we can argue that illicit sex is bad, so to stop the mass abortions we have to stop people from having illicit sex. But when the instance is not of illicit sex but of another, like the instances that we have seen in this message board, we can say that abortion is going to liberate her from living her life with the thing that has happened to her in the past. If you can't understand this , I feel sorry for you. because, the arguement would be showing off nothing but immaturity and the repitition of the same type of ideals. Thank you
  10. well.. you can't let it live. and suffer the unnecessary humiliation and disgrace that comes from the public. It comes not only to the child but also to the mother. If you can change the society thats great, but only a higher power can completely change the society at will. We can't do it, even if we try to then it will take ages... but it is possible... but for the present situation however, I think getting it out from its wretched state before it can feel any pain is the best way- if it is accomplished because of an unpleasant situation only. This is like the karna incident. He lived and what did he accomplish?- humiliation. thats all.
  11. In reply to: ________ Are you a prophet or what? How can you say what the quality of a life not lived will be? There are many, many great souls who have taken obscure births. ________ But please try to understand mine. No, I am not a prophet and I do not mean to preach anything, sheesh I am only 16 years old give me a break! but I do say what I say on the basis of past events and on the basis of morality. The most common reason for crime in our country is traced to illegitamate births. I do say that it is wrong for people to abort babies but not on the cost of leaving us in to a continuous cycle of destruction. For us to stop most of the abortions , as I have said, is to transcend the base qualities of our bodies by overcoming the sexual potency in the society. In the unfortunate cases of rape and incest, I do support abortion. Please don't say I support babies being ripped out and stuff!. I don't! Anyway, it is unfortunate for one to be placed in the womb of an aborting mother, but it is by my morals, much worser to have a life of less opportunity and alot of denial. but that depends on karma, we have no control over that! so that seems to be the end of it. Oh my god, I have been on this forum for like more than 2 hours, I will stop now. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
  12. Ofcourse he made alot of mistakes. Because he is human. A paramecium needs time to figure out the nature of the petri dish it is in... in my science lab /images/graemlins/smile.gif In the same way, the human needs time to figure out the nature of universe he is in ... in krishna's science lab /images/graemlins/grin.gif
  13. stonehearted: We undergo so much difficulty to make our lives better in different ways; when we do so for others' sake, we begin to move beyond the animal platform. _______ Yep! /images/graemlins/smile.gif thats why krishna consciousness should be shown to the people all over our little planet. /images/graemlins/smile.gif /images/graemlins/cool.gif
  14. I do believe abortion is wrong because abortion does equal to murder, but lets look at this in more detail. In my perspective, on unfair circumstances it is quite fair to have an abortion, but what is fair and unfair is defined by the perspective it seen in. In other words, take the same instance of rape, I do think that a woman can have an abortion when the child is clearly not wanted in the first place and please note the act of conceivement did not occur while trying to gain any pleasure. I think the act of another shall never shatter one's life as it does in this instance. The life of the baby will be definitely shattered due to the "improper" birth that it takes, because in this case the mother will be definitely responsible for taking care of a child. Also, the mother will have to work hard because she will be single. If the mother has no help what so ever, then the child will basically grow up to be another victim of this material world. If we talk about Adoption, well, even adoption does not solve the pain and misery the mother will go through. Once the baby is born, it is natural to be attached to the baby thus making it even harder to give it up. Furthermore, the very act will be a great sin, isn't abandoning a helpless child a sin? How do you know if the child gets proper care in a orphanage? - This clearly leads to another sin of letting the very child go into ruin. ___________ It is not the selfishness talking nor the ego, even though my past statements seem to be contradictory, hypocritical and egotistical. In my opinion, the only way to stop such a mess of abortion vs non abortion is to transcend the notion of sense gratification as a whole. still, such renunciation does not solve our problem. well those are my opinions.
  15. In reply to : __________ Stringent laws means its not the woman's choice. __________ I don't mean to say you are wrong, but If I were raped and then impregnated, then I wouldn't want to carry that baby in me. Abortion is ok when absolutely necessary. Thank you. case closed.
  16. In my opinion, if you worship the demigods, you are worshipping krishna. Krishna loves us, so I guess when they worship the demigods, krishna basically comes in those forms to please us. - thats the way I see it. As I said before, we have no control over the situation. All we can do is live a good non violent and friendly life for krishna. So in my opinion, We just place all our trust in krishna and live peacefully, the rest is the job for krishna. If you think you have control over it, then you are in illusion. However, you can make choices, but to live peacefully with others, we need to first change ourselves. Even though we have a free choice, the free choice itself in reality an illusion.
  17. Violence is so dumb, Kalki would never adopt it. He is going to conquer the world through the path of love and understanding.
  18. Violence is so dumb, Kalki would never adopt it. He is going to conquer the world through the path of love and understanding.
  19. but I kind of understand the reasonable explanations they give for people who are having abortions. however, abortion is murder, but to fight abortion we would have to first fight the human attraction to the act of "sex". Doing that is possible, but quite hard.
  20. But if you didn't want the baby in the first place but were forced to have it, what would you do?
  21. Wait! yes he does! Oh My God!! He knows everything! I better start being good! /images/graemlins/wink.gif /images/graemlins/grin.gif -sudszy /images/graemlins/cool.gif
  22. Everyone is krishna's . He is every one's master, and when we talk about peaceful co-existence, it is always possible. because peace between So-called "Hindus" and So- called "Muslims" is like peace between two intimate brothers. when we talk about muslims being the bad guys, or hindus, I must say we are mistaken. In reality, neither hindus nor muslims is bad or evil, the "bad" people lie on both sides. It is better for us to clear out the differences and start to look for peaceful co-existence. My opinion about priveleges of the chanting: well, Krishna was there, is there, will be there. If krishna wishes for the chanting and sankirthan and hinduism to continue, it will, but if he wishes for us to not continue...we will not. There is no control over what is desirable or undesirable. So friends, we should live a happy and non-violent life then only then there is true peace. /images/graemlins/cool.gif /images/graemlins/laugh.gif
  23. what I know about Aztecs is that they were looking for the return of the god "Quetzalcotl", I think that is the spanish spelling and pronounciation of an Aztec name, but I am not sure. Anyway, I believe they used to give Gold as a sacrifice to this God. The Aztec Legend says that when this God arrives "AGAIN", (He was here before), He would destroy the Aztecs once and for all if they don't please him and change their ways. So, to please him they found those old shrines of Quetzalcotl and started praying him... because there was an Omen or something. However, When Cortez arrived they were not sure if this guy was Quetzalcotl, but He had all the types of qualities of what they thought their Punishing God will look like. For example, the horse- which they never saw in their lives. The guns , which they never heard off. The metal and steel armour which they never saw. However, they finally figured out his real identity after he made Montezuma(the wise spanish emperor) a prisoner... I read this in some book like when I was in Global studies, I kind a got very curios about Aztec Civilizations. Oh yeah, they also used to sacrifice human beings every morning, just for the sun to rise and the high priests used to even eat them- talk about disgusting gross ideals!!!.
  24. Mohammed is not kalki, kalki should be a brahmin, Mohammed is not. Kalki converts people through compassion... Mohammed doesn't Kalki is supposed to be God, Mohammed is not. Kalki should come from a family named Vishnuvyasa, Mohammed comes from a desert. Kalki comes from south India, Mohammed comes from a Desert. Finally!, Kalki rules... Mohammed does n't /images/graemlins/smile.gif -enlightened
