  1. In my view, Karma Yoga is perfect devotional service to the lord. Karma Yoga for me would be Padasevana... just like the saying "Manavasa seva Madhava seva" Service to Mankind with no attachment is the best type of devotional service to the lord in my view. But isnt that obvious? this guy is everything... /images/graemlins/shocked.gif /images/graemlins/smile.gif
  2. All the paths are there to recognize the Hari who is the "Antar-atma" of all. If I refer to Yoga Vashistha, the word Hari itself means "The one who dwells in the milk of compassion"- please correct me if i am wrong. Hari is ofcourse love itself personified, bhakthi is synonymous to real love... so it is true that everything in the end comes down to the very essence of all the scriptures... which is to invoke the long last feeling which we had for the lord.
  3. Just like the rivers in whe world converge into one body of water "The ocean" . All the sincere paths which try to attain the supreme lead to the truth. The sincerety however, depends on the level of honest approach which is unfortunately hard to find in this age. The best method is to be a Karma Yogi, do your duty and surrender to the lord... let him decide if he makes you come to him or wishes to leave you in this material world.
  4. I didn't read the whole sentence... I looked at the sanskrit scholar and boom! Anyway, no I did not present myself as a sanskrit scholar anywhere, whether it be on the sanskrit forum or anywhere else. I did help people who wanted to write their names in devanagari which is the script that sanskrit is written in. I never said I was a sanskrit scholar, but I was honest in helping some people translate their names... /images/graemlins/confused.gif I didn't know people thought I was a sanskrit scholar ... woah!

  8. Om Shri brahmaputhraye namaha - Om The sound of Om... Shri- talking about laxmi or just giving respect... Brahmaputhraye Namaha... - the son of Brahma? Brahma is the creator of this universe, the Son of Brahma is Narada who also another form of Vishnu/Krishna/narayana. Om Shri mrithyu nayaya namaha: I do not think this means the guy who got ressurected. It means the guy who gives death. Oh well, I tried, the rest of them I have no idea about, because partly I do not read sanskrit and I am beginning to understand it through bhagavatham/bhagavath gita. /images/graemlins/crazy.gif --------------------------- So, some one else will answer you... They probably have the same meanings related to the supreme personality of the Godhead. /images/graemlins/smile.gif But I am not sure how.... they are related.

  10. From what site about the Rig veda? It is quite hard for one to get Rig Veda in a book store, he/she has to depend on a certain website. I would like to have some one clearly confirm that this whole verse is not made up.

  14. "But krishna never matches to the "Prajapathi" as explained in Vedas, He never died for our sins in Wooden Cross nobody nailed him on the cross, He never resurrected from the death but Vedas refering these are all the qualities of "Prajapathi"" /images/graemlins/smile.gif Funny. The argument by you which is as follows: "He never died for our sins in Wooden Cross nobody nailed him on the cross, He never resurrected from the death but Vedas refering these are all the qualities of "Prajapathi"" This argument is ridiculously on the body level. If I die on a wooden cross right now for the "saving of the people from the sins of the world" would that make me a prajapathi? My dear friend, lets not get into such ridiculous arguments here. I thought you grasped what I was saying in the other post but never mind, i will say it again. You and I cannot become prajapathi, just like that jesus cannot be prajapathi, If I die right now on a wooden cross I will not be Prajapathi(I will be an idiot though, or I would be put into jail for commiting suicide). One Roman emperor(not sure who) crucified about 10000 gladiators who revolted against his rule and fought him, Do all of them make up Prajapathis? How many prajapathis exist in this world? .......................................................... So, Lets use our minds and surrender to the truth, the God of Jesus, who is also Krishna is the prajapathi. Open your eyes and see the truth. "Moreever can you give the refererecne for "Krishnam Vande Jagad-Gurum"?" Yes , it is from a verse from vedas/puranas not sure exactly where but it is a verse read by us Vaishnavas on Krishnasthami (the physical arrival of krishna on to this earth) .

  16. Prajapathi's literal translation : Praja= people/ beings/ living things/ sparks of life put together/ society. Pathi= Husband/ leader/ the one who protects/ the one who comforts. There is also another word that is synonymous to Prajapathi , which is JagatGurum. Jagat= world, universe, creation. Gurum= Guru, teacher, leader, Master. From the scriptures it has been said that this statement is true : Krishnam Vande Jagat Gurum. Krishna- you know who that guy is. Vande- I salute you Jagat Gurum- Prajapathi. This whole statement literally means "O Krishna, I salute you my dear Prajapathi" "The first born and only born son of the God. His name is "Prajapathy" the son of the God comes to this world at the appropriate time." is wrong. Prajapathi can only be Krishna - (God or Jesus's dad) Please don't offend Jesus by saying he is Prajapathi. Don't mock his dad (you too agree with this) . If Jesus becomes prajapathi, then you , I and every one becomes prajapathi. If you ask Why? - because we too are the children of God and if he makes one child "Prajapathi" the rest of them are also "Prajapathi" which is ridiculous. You are not God, so you are not prajapathi. Jesus is an avatar, he is not prajapathi. Prajapathi is always krishna and not his messengers. The Rig veda is not really straight forward, it is usually full of hymns that explain things very abstractly. Your quote shows great detail from the Rig veda and it is from only 4 lines of sanskrit used. Are you positive that those four lines say all that you have said in english?

  18. but do you think these secret projects are the "UFOs" most people see. because if this thing was flying in the sky and I saw it and if it was of a wierd shape I would think this was a UFO. Obviously, any one would think that...
  19. Firstof all, before making a statement about the existence of Rama and Krishna, please prove that history that we see today in our books is unaltered and it was as it is. If you can prove that, then I will completely agree with you and support your arguement that Rama and Krishna do not exist and the whole basis of hinduism which are the vedas are written after the birth of christ and mohammed. I will also help you find the very verses that talk about Christ and Mohammed (There should be verses because they were so popular and these were written after them right?) from the vedas. The truth is we can't prove it ever. The history as we see it today is not the whole truth. One simple example would be there are many men in History who have done alot of great things, but what about great women? You might argue that most of the women were subject to the patriarchial society in which most of them did not even have the right to have a proper education. I might agree with you on that, but still there were great women in the ancient as well as modern history of our world. No one in our history books talks about the great queen of the celtic tribes who fought the battle of londignum(Roman London) and basically won control. Why? because the history is altered by many people. The ancient history we see it today is not the truth, most of it is just propaganda. We even see the altered modern history in our own past. The so called bad guys in the movies concerned with Manifest destiny are always Native Americans. I have many more obvious examples of altered history. Anyway, the point I am trying to make here is that the history that we see today is not completely true, because it has been altered by many scholars. One main reason why they would alter history would be for three Gs- (Gold , God , Glory). So, to take the history as the ultimate reference in religious studies would be ridiculous. The evidence of Christ or Mohammed in history is as mysterious as the evidence of Rama or Krishna's existence in the past.
  20. If you ask why? To be honest, these scriptures were written much before the time Jesus or Mohammed or Abraham. At this time, there was no Noah flood. No evil twin cities. This was a time when there was peace in India. This was not the time of the Aryan invasion, which basically never happened if you truly do an archeological study of India. I do not know how to give scriptural explanations for this, because I can't find a verse saying "We did not write about Jesus , Abraham or Mohammed", because they were not born yet then and the Sages of those times did not think it was necessary to include them. Anyway, these books do contain knowledge to reach the Godhead through various means... but they don't talk about these people though , it is not really necessary for them to talk about these people anyway.

  22. Wow, now I feel stupid to fear Lord Narasimha... But the reading is good, I guess Vishnu is above all three Gunas. /images/graemlins/smile.gif For some reason I thought he was only sattvic.
  23. My grandfather was one of the people who changed his mode. He was basically a normal "hindu" at that time, who had no Job and was subject to discrimination by the Nizami Muslim Government, when Indians got their Independence, the Nizams fell. He then knew that the only way to change the people's poverty is bring these issues to the government, the best way to do that was Media. He was a poor(no money) guy , he worked hard by working on multiple jobs and became a Journalist. He changed the villages by reporting about them to the general public. Politicians can't ignore the issues brought on by media. he is now a famous journalist in India who was also the editor of Eenadu and other papers.... I know he is self situated because, even though he does not express his Bhakthi about Krishna, his humility, his wiseness and his intellect tell me that he is truly self situated. He talks about Gita though... and explains how it could be used to become peaceful at ease... ------------------------- So prabhu, I think you can change your Mode from the Mode of Ignorance to the Mode of Satvism. It can be done. My mother's father did it and so can I and any one else...
  24. I don't think you have grasped the very message of Gita. I am not saying I have... I have not, but the message of Gita is to be in devotional service... that does not mean be like Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and dance every day in front of Krishna. But, Do everything selflessly and helping others.. you will live more happily that way. Bhagavath Gita is supposed to be a psychology course my friend, it is not supposed to be something that is going to stop you from solving your problems. Look at Gandhi, He used Bhagavath Gita to help him achieve his goal. For example, In bhagavath Gita , Krishna says "Karmanye.." I don't remember the exact verse.... please some one post here, but in that verse Krishna says "Do your duty and leave the result to me" In this verse krishna is not telling you to quit your Job, but he is telling you to do your Job. In other words, he is telling you do your duty with concentration, do your job well with no doubts and with no thoughts of self pity or pity on others but do not expect your boss to be very happy with you. Do it because it is your duty and not for fame, more money or popularity, because such things take you away from your Job and leave you in failure , O bharata. that is just one message from Gita. It is very logical, very understandable. If you have only desire on your result and you don't gain it , it will leave you in suffering. But if you gain a good result, it will develop your ego which will get hurt later on. The point is to be unattached and do your work. He also says if you can't concentrate on your work, concentrate on my words and me and take your chance. It is doing your duty, krishna is helping you. He is not telling you to pray 24hours a day 7 days a week. He is not demanding prayer but saying develop that perfect man in you and live happily through the selfless action by completely being unattached to this world. In my view, this is the real message of KC , it is not to pray , but to realize the very essence of that perfect self and that perfection is nothing else than krishna personified.
  25. Thank you, I will read it . /images/graemlins/smile.gif
