  1. "Interpretations" are a sign on the door the master isn't home. Students, well meaning that they may be, offer their take on his words that are written down somewhere. Dead as the master himself. A master declares things, he doesn't take a vote on them. Truth is not a democratic process. Until the next master appears that appeals to the locals, dead words are all they have to feast upon. x
  2. I've never chanted. I've always preferred to listen to the divine rather than talk to it. x
  3. If you pay attention to all the divisions that exist between people, where is the time for God? Pay attention to what really matters. You must rise above the mundane even if others cannot. You must be the example if no other is present. A seeker is not really a follower but a leader. It is by their example that others find attraction or not, to the path. Be a good ambassador for whatever path you follow. The only sword you need is a sharp tongue. The only battlefield is within the mind itself. Only the weakest of men take it to a battlefield on earth. x
  4. No true path ever has to be defended. It speaks for itself, or it withers a slow death at the hands of devotees who don't know how to keep the flame lit. Just as it should. x
  5. I treat everyone as an equal. All are welcome around my campfire. It makes no matter if our philosophies mesh or not. I celebrate differences. But to chase after God, you must peel the differences away until there is no difference. No difference between watcher and watched. There is great drama in this peeling of layers. God is ultimately an experience. All your brothers and sisters around the world are drawn to it but they know not why. They can't see too well just yet and walk around in a defensive posture, just in case something challenges them. People who can see just walk around the obstacles. One should listen to both the fool and the sage. If you can't see, you may not be able to tell them apart. x
  6. There is no right. All paths to God begin as individual paths. Each sage has had a long path behind him to bring him to that point of realization. Each sage has a capacity according to their level of perception. Range, in other words. How far beyond the human self can they see? Not all are equal in this ability. Enlightened, but by degrees. Enlightenment is more like a dimmer switch than an on/off switch. How bright can you be and still walk among men? x
  7. I'm aware of this, but the human taproot that connects me to it tingles all the time. It must be experienced. Its the only way you'll ever know. x
  8. What are miracles but something you haven't yet learned how to do for yourself? You exist in a world of very low spiritual vibration. When the heart chimes like a bell, it creates a wake of higher pitched energy that affects how physical laws apply to you. You tune out of this world somewhat, you are no longer bound by the rules that are in place here. Gravity included. Maya is like a soft clay that will assume whatever shape you believe to be true. This is what constructs your world. If you believe that tricks like levitation marks one's spiritual ability, you are sadly mistaken. Why stop to pick up a penny? Gold is what you seek. Amuse yourself with the view, but keep going. "Powers" are nothing more than a diversion. When you get to where you're going, you'll have it all anyway. x
  9. This is the same problem that plagues all religions. They were inspired by people who had divine experiences themselves but often left no spiritual heir to explain it after their death. There is a lot of growth around light sources as we all know. Most of this growth manifests itself as religions or some other "discipline" based upon those words spoken by a master. Those who strike a chord with a master will attempt to carry the written words forward after the master has passed away. If they only have a mental attraction instead of a true spiritual one, they tend to wash out with time. A true spiritual thirst is a terrible thing. You will sell all that you own to chase after it. Even one lifetime to another. Just remember that the path that runs beneath your feet is also a part of maya. It traps worldly people like flies on a flystrip in the heat of a summer day. The rigidity of a system can blind you to God as much as it can deliver you. Careful where you step in the pasture of life. x
  10. He was Jewish, but not a product of Jewish myticism. No, Jesus got his initiation further east than Israel. Don't confuse the master's words with those that wrote about him. The scriptures are written by common men who spent time with someone extraordinary. I have several problems with the way they worded things in scripture. I don't think it was with intent as much as it was lack of understanding. The is little evidence in their writings that they were anything more than scribes recording what they saw. NOT the holy men that Christianity has made them out to be. Universal truths are just that. They never change, but can be dressed up according to whatever culture embraces them. Sometimes, even the simple truths are too much for people to comprehend, so must be broken down into stories and parables. Bite sized pieces for your mind to digest. Spiritual children need smaller bites than those who are mature in spirit. x
  11. It might come as a shock to some of you, but mystics have been around longer than any "system" used to describe them. When a person becomes a mystic, they will often attempt to explain their inner experiences through their native religion first. Jesus did this. He wasn't talking to people in India or wherever he picked this up from, he was talking to people he grew up with in another land. Judaism was his vehicle for doing so. But like all mystics, there are things within the mystical experience itself which rallies against the status quo. If you're a priest or a politician, people like this are who you fear. They mean change. And when they go against written scripture, they are often seen as heretics or worse. x
  12. Jesus was a Jewish yogi. Make no mistake of this. And his life was/is a hard act to follow for a common person then or now. I think Gandhi summed it up best: “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” x
  13. Only at this point in time. Structure the future so that simplicity is your reward instead of material wealth. You must work for simplicity. x
  14. You can't please all the gods. There's too many of them. Please your self. If you can learn to love yourself, no god will ever be displeased with you. x
  15. A part of them is immersed in the acting role they play on this earth, but the higher self sits and watches the show. You must learn to see both together instead of one or the other. This is only possible when you expand compassion, because compassion illuminates what it touches and reveals the true nature of things. x
  16. Even if you pull off a single molecule of God, you have created something other than oneness. x
  17. The only thing you are sensing when you enter their temples is what your senses are telling you. And THATS the problem. An impure mind cannot tell real from unreal. Ghosts are everywhere. You cannot judge something spiritual with your eyes and ears. You must be able to see it with your heart, bypassing the mind altogther. When you can do that, this temple is just another building with no value other than what YOU assign to it. Close the outer eyes. Open the inner one. You can then walk through this temple like a sun god. No fear. x
  18. When you get into the area of comparing one belief against another, you are allowing the mind to wander off the path and go chase after something worldly. The danger of generating negative karma is high when decisions are clouded by emotion such as anger. As a seeker, you must ask if this is in your best interest. Seek, but emotions need to be left outside the temple door. x
  19. Because the west is under the sway of Christianity, things of a sexual nature in regards to religion are frowned upon. Most would see it as a perversion. Tantric yoga, while many people are attracted to it, can never find public acceptance in the west. The terms male and female are symbolic, not physical. They represent the soul and the almighty. The complete fusion of the two are what you would call saints. A mature soul. x
  20. Where is the reference to Shiva, and who keeps editing my posts? x
  21. Actually, it does become me. To add is to create. To detract is to reduce down to a singularity. Religion, all religion, has flowered like a field of weeds in the garden of humanity. Only the healthy will continue to grow in the garden afterward. x

    Why Ghosts ??

This is an embarrassment, to whatever culture embraces it. A child of God fears nothing. x
  23. Am I supposed to read all this? All he is telling you is to be careful. Use a little discrimination when choosing leadership on the path. Now, wasn't that SIMPLE? x
  24. The Vedas represent spiritual truths. The methods of conveying these truths will always change according to the season of belief in them. The truths themselves never change. Before these things were written, there was a time upon the earth where people passed such knowledge by oral tradition. The great minds and spirits of that day were no different than you are today. With one exception. Their minds were trained by living words, whereas minds in the modern day are trained by static words from books. Not living, but "representative" of their living power. And open to interpretation. The Kali Yuga ends when the masses have a chance to listen to leaders who actually embody the divine flame. Religion has behaved like a herd of elephants, using their size to get their way in the world. All they've really done is to muddy the pure water from which everyone else must drink. x
  25. And when you enter Krishna conciousness, you will see it for yourself. Time only engages when you pay attention to this world. If you pay attention elsewhere, you are subject to a different timescale, and not the one of this world. You can visit the city limits of this place when you sleep and dream. The timescale in the dream is different than the one here. Ever lay down for a 10 minute nap, only to discover an hour has gone by? But you would swear it was only for a few minutes? Awareness does not always pay attention to timescales. They are a mental creation and only have value on a material stage. The further you get away from the material world, the less time has a value. x
