North Wales holiday

Speaking of British TV, I found this show on the local PBS channel that's on like at 1 AM Sunday morning. I don't know the name for sure, but I think it's ThermoMan. It stars Ardal O'Hanlon, who played Father Dougal on Father Ted and who I always had a bit of a crush on. It's a pretty good show and, what the hell, I'm usually up at that hour anyway.

Love,

Anna

gettin dr who would cost money

PBS has been the traditional place BBC programs and the like have found a home here, more er less

PBS has no money, and is in the middle of a storm anyways

don't count on seeing it anytime soon over here...

unless Sci-Fi channel picks it up Jo Cwazy Jun 7, 2005 11:48 AM Re: Re: North Wales holiday Hi NikkiIt's a new series - updated. Christopher Eccleston is the Dr and BilliePiper his assistant. It is very good. It has kept a lot of the original DrWho feeling, but has better 'monsters' and effects. On the Dr Who list allthe Americans are really sad that it's not being shown in the States. Caadahas it (sensible people) and I believe Australia is either showing it orgoing to.BBJo-"nikki_mackovitch" <nikkimackTuesday, June 07, 2005 11:15 AM Re: North Wales holiday> Hi Jo>> You still have Dr. Who on the air?!>> *sigh*>> I haven't seen it in ages. No, not ranking them, just using them in order

I have not the right to rank them

See, they use to scare me a bit, but for some reason the darn Daleks

shook me out of my shoes the worst. I just don't know why.

Hi Anna

I haven't, although I shall look out for it now you've mentioned it.

I have seen Jude, but only because Peter was in it. Apparently David

Tennant (the next Dr Who) was in that film as well.

Hi Anna

It is called My Hero. I like it, but not as much as Father Ted.

Ardal is Thermoman, and his wife ha sno supernatural powers, but the

baby does. Peter tells me that in the latest series they have

another baby.

I think the Cybermen scared me because they seemed to appear in more

normal places, like trying to get in the TARDIS - they walked around

like faceless people.

Hi Jo

I am bad at that too, though we don't have Sky1 here, it is

something else and none of them I watch religiously. But I like to

catch at time Stargate, Andromeda, some Star Trek and a few of their

movies and made-for programs.

Hi Jo

Than let's hope Dr. Who continues on!

I liked Next Generation better too. Definately more interesting.

Now I like Alias, Lost and 24. Not on Sci-Fi tho. Especially Lost!

I like stark trek, twilight zone, alfred hitchcok show, movies like

christine, carrie, prom night etc.

However, I have little tolerance for Bad (fake looking) monster or

alien makeup, bad acting, too much drama, or where the line of

belieavility is stretched enough to insult my intelligence. In the

old Dr. Who I used to love the costumes and make-up of that period.

Wasn't up to "their standards"? Granted I haven't had cable in nearly a year and therefore haven't been watching much SciFi, but they run some real crap on that channel. Some really good stuff, but also some total CRAP.

I LOVED the Next Generation. It was on when I was a teenager and lived out

in the stix with no tv reception - my scifi junkie cousin sent me

videotapes every month and I'd watch them like five times each. When the

first movie (Generations) came out I actually cried watching it, I was so

awed at seeing on the big screen. Captain Picard kicked ass.

Love,

Anna

actually had nightmares about poor Walt.

I'm with you Anouk. Those are some pretty good shows you just listed.

And I am an absolute horror junky! The scarier and/or gorier the

better!

I LOVE a great horror flick!

So far, the two that have gotten me best lately was The Ring and The

Grudge. Other than that I have not been too impressed. I dunno,

maybe I am just going numb to it all.

The only downfall is I have no one to watch them with. So usually on

a Sat night it is me freaking out with DH running for cover and DS

knowing he cannot look at the tv when Mom is watching " her show " .

My best friend and I use to get together and watch them all the

time. We both luv to get the wits scared outta us. But alas, times

change.

:)

Me too Anna! I can still see the look on his face!

" Dad, Help Me! Help me, dad! "

UGH! NOT GOOD!

I am interested in learning more about the monster tho! That was

better than I thought it would be.

Hi Jo

I think you;ll like Lost. It has some pretty good twists and turns

and I especially like how in each episode you find out more about

the people's backgrounds. It adds more to the story.

Alias is about FBI agents and is written very well. 24 is about CTU

(Counter Terrorist Unit)for America and it is written pretty well

too.

Both have good plots and some good twists too.
