  1. but what a pathetic existence it is, never satisfied with anything, always searching for something meaningful and not finding it in anything.
  2. Ha! you think your existence is better than a turkey's?
  3. For every body, we have a disease. For every food, we have hunger. For every office, we have sharks. For every policeman, we have a thief. For every kid, we have college expenses. For every "wise-man", we have a "wise-guy". For every good thought, we have the bad. For every miracle, we have a dissapointment. For every life, we have death. Happy thanksgiving, but for what are we thanking? PS: For every sentence, we have bad grammar. (like the title of this thread). So what am we supposed to be thankful for?
  4. Before Bhagavad Gita: Oh wow, the president of the united states , hey look the queen of england After Bhagavad Gita: Bah, they are just souls . Do people like bush, French, redsox ( the team , not the poster), deserve any respect at all? Did they "earn" it? was it just given to them by krishna?
  5. Technically, He is not up there in the sky, and by He , I mean God. Still, philosophically speaking, It is an interesting question to ponder. when you look back at your life, how far you have come just in this life, do you think you had any control over what had happened in the past? Was it all just planned out? the ups , the downs, or was it just you doing best in the circumstances that you were put in and somehow somethings worked out and others didn't? What do you think? do you think once you say you surrender to Him , he has a plan for you. Or do you think he only plans it out only when you truly surrender to Him.?
  6. Why is there a need for external rituals when the truth is inside us?
  7. Yes, but why talk like goloka is somewhere "out there".
  8. That makes krishna sound like santa clause, "Oh , he was just here, you missed him, darn", don't worry, just believe, see those milk and cookies that you got? they are not there anymore.
  9. Krishna appeared on earth way before christ or mohammed
  10. Is the christian a human being? Is the hare krishna a human being? If you said yes to both questions, then yes.
  11. On a clear night, look up to the sky. Is it on the deneb system? vega? Regulus? Acquarius? This galaxy? maybe andromeda? Maybe a galaxy we don' know about? The dark matter? Where is it?
  12. But Soul has no body! Besides, why would there be sex? the Souls do not reproduce. I thought God creates souls and souls do not create more souls.
  13. The hog thinks we are thieves for stealing the lord's food from other creatures for our own bellies and leaving it nothing but stool to eat. The hog thinks we are slavers for enslaving its kind. The hog thinks we are murderers for killing it, the hog thinks we are kidnappers because all those piglets above are either going to the slaughterhouse or are going to be dissected in biology labs.
  14. Thank you ghari, the way you put it has really helped me understand. To be honest, I am a very angry person by nature, I hope I can change that in time. Hare krishna.
  15. Where do these (See the topic) come from? Do they originate from God?
  16. woah, this is confusing. what is this about? Is this about time? if it is, what are you saying about Time? Also, if this discussion is about time, isn't it true that time is only true in relation to our bodies, and not "us" , because we are eternally existent?
  17. I am sorry to hear that. I hope your uncle finds some peace.
  18. Thank you, it should be an interesting reading. Thanks for the other link too.
  19. Are you saying you have never smelled , seen or tasted a rasberry, but you have fell in love with rasberries? if somebody else writes about rasberries and their love for them, do you think you will start loving rasberries at the same level without tasting them? Do you see my point here?
  20. The attempt here is ofcourse not to disrupt your personal belief system, even if that is or not possible on the internet... I wouldn't be a good judge of that. You can answer my question. How can you love something that is invisible? I find that my love to krishna even when in front of an altar has been very artificial. it is not love, it is not bhakti, I know it. It is a mere imitation or a ritual that is empty. It struck me today, when I was watching a movie about Rama/krishna lila, I have found that most of the people in the movie have seen krishna with their two eyes, talked to krishna, have known krishna as a being external to them. You can take anyone. Hanuman: he knows Rama as his lord because he actually served Rama. Narada: He visits God whenever he wishes. Rishis: They all have supernatural powers that make them go to various places and also they see God everywhere, in the earth, the atmosphere, the space above- They have even written the whole Om Bhur, Bhuvah , Svah, Tat savitur varenyam , bhargo devasya dimahi , Diyo Yonah prachodayat. Devotees: have the ability to find some authentic love in a temple. How can an individual like me find any love? Even when I go to a temple, I feel artificial. The questions like how can God be only in a stone, and not in everything else, or similar questions prop up. When outside the temple, it is very easy to forget krishna. I have tried constant repetition of Hare krishna, I can last for a few hours, but I can't go on forever. Sometimes it just feels hopeless, as if I am trying to create love by brainwashing myself. Sigh, Happy diwali by the way... hopefully you will all remember how with krishna's love , Satyabhama has destroyed a demon called Narakasura today or was it yesterday? sigh, does it even matter?.
  21. can you disrespect krishna in any way? He is the Lord of this universe, He breathes in, all the worlds collapse, He breathes out, all the worlds form, how can you disrespect him? How can your kiss disrespect him? He invented it, He controls every single action of ours, whether that is in maya, or whether that is in surrender to Him, How can we ever disrespect Him? I don't understand this "disrespect"... in my opinion, and yes I am not a great devotee, probably an idiot giving his opinion, but still... in my opinion, You are treating krishna as a human being when you think you are disrespecting Him, because He transcends all that, He knows your most inner self, there cannot be any feeling for Him that is not created by Him. If it was another human being, you may have creeped him/her out, but not krishna- He made you throw Him a flying kiss.
  22. Narada Bhakti Sutra mentions: "Upon achieving that stage of transcendental devotional service in pure love of God, a person becomes perfect, immortal, and peaceful" (Narada bhakti Sutra 4) Perfection? will you become perfect in your career? in your communications with others? with learning new information? If that is so, when we engage in bhakti, is it so that we start becoming perfect in our daily life duties, problems. etc? Have any of you experienced this?
