  1. oh, i thought shakti was your ever-faithful partner.
  2. I played 'the wind by cat stevens' when leading weekly chapel as a teen once. The christian brother who was in charge got a bit upset by it all;)... I do recall it was a spiritual thing...and a moving tune... I listen to the wind to the wind of my soul Where I'll end up well I think, only God really knows I've sat upon the setting sun But never, never never never I never wanted water once No, never, never, never I listen to my words but they fall far below I let my music take me where my heart wants to go I swam upon the devil's lake But never, never never never I'll never make the same mistake No, never, never, never
  3. he is not operating under the shelter of scs math...there is one present day acarya in that math. therefore I would suggest frank morales is showing no dis-respect to srila br sridhara maharaja, in his service or mission.
  4. the summum bonum is a complete whole made of various energies...according to sri caitanya transformation of energy is possible.
  5. you see the soul by its nature cannot stay inactive within the brahmajyoti. therefore it either moves toward spiritual kriya or material kriya. remember kriya is in relation to hladini. yes.
  6. when you are at work, and when you are at home with family, do you exhibit different character traits? the place only exhibits a certain quality when there is an active principle (potency) behind it. the actual quality or characteristic is present in the place due to the soul quality. the place and its character are manifest due to soul potency. the spiritual dimension is glorious. the material manifestation is visible due to the marginal souls activation within matter. the real glory of the jiva is when its inherent potency is directed toward spiritual substance. the soul, its quality, and its field are deeply integrated... and to suggest that these things are dis-connected is incorrect.
  7. No sonic. It is both these things. The only difference is the liberated soul knows its function. It is enlightened to its nature. Its character is transcendental.
  8. Some qualities of the marginal jiva would remain - but these qualities intrinsic to the soul, such as independance, would reach full potential within spiritual shelter. Otherwise the qualties are limited (under shelter of the temporary).
  9. 1 John was written with some context. The message of that epistle was speaking to a people who had been influenced by a line of thought that Jesus Christ did not come in the flesh. John goes on to say that those who do not accept that Jesus came in the flesh are spirit of anti-christ.
  10. haven't you heard of vatican two council....? times have changed.
  11. http://www.bioponic.com/pdfs/TurmericAyurveda.pdf interesting read
  12. ....no long hairy's:rolleyes:. pax (dude)!
  13. All things have a grosser perspective and a subtler perspective. The man who has accepted life on a subtle plane, takes the subtle purport of sastra as having spiritual significance. This can be an internal thing I would suggest.
  14. Firstly I am not a supporter of Hamas or any other intolerant political/religious movement. Let me make that very clear. I envision a world Chandu, where history culture and religion is deeply appreciated. Where modern man can appreciate his diverse past and common destiny. I envision a world where religion does not divide. And global recognition that when religion has divided man, that religion is not Absolute Truth. I envision enemies meeting at the table, and deciding to bring harmony for the sake of our global family. I envision honesty and humility as the foundation of reconcilliation.
  15. Like moses as a baby in the reed basket, that story is in various cultures pre-dating jewish. Same as christian mythos and its stories, they are pre-dated in other cultures. But, vedic culture claims to be the original source of all these myths. Big claim. Rather than some original source from an advanced culture, could it instead be that these greater themes run within all cultures. And especially within the mind of man.
  16. There you go again, one side of the coin vision. There are two parties in every tango dance. No one here seems to be saying hamas is justified.
  17. that's it chandu. Any sane man will let go of religious texts demanding such things, whether he be hindu, muslim or christian. Anyone who holds any validity to these texts in this 21st century is actually insane. And should build himself a castle or fortress:rolleyes:...or time machine so he can wear animal fur and bronze knives. The rise of these religions occured at a set time in world history. Before the era of christs, buddhas, and mohammeds there was mother earth worship. Could it be today, that we can relish the good in these religious traditions, harmonize it with an earth centred nurture, and move toward a better world. Surely the age of the prophets will come to an end (at least the sectarian divide of its followers).
  18. white phosphorous. article click here a few days ago on the news I saw a residential area in Gaza flattened. The Israeli army not only seeks militants but levels whole areas of housing. Why? I don't know how much info you get on the news in America. But just imagine being very poor, living constantly with fear...and then one day the fear happens and your house and family is gone. Are you gonna say oh well? Hatred and intolerance is a complex thing. The Israeli nation has affluence and needs to work seriously at making harmony. It has 'responsibility' to work with other united nations and end this never-ending snowball of events. let what happen again? what is your mindset...
  19. Hi Tulasi, I appreciate your teachers views in this regard. Deeply honoring tradition and the treasure within it, while reaching out to others where a mold does not restrict. I have noticed you posting Acaryadeva's messages here for some time, so thought I would give him a listen today. He has a very generous intent to serve and help others along on their spiritual journey. Thx for sharing..
  20. what is the labelling of this rennet on the packets (in the U.S.)? is it considered vegetarian by devotees?
  21. yeah, i was thinking similar to you.
  22. i am sure you know the story behind why baladeva vidyabushana composed a commentary of vedanta sutra. the opposing parties did not consider gaudiya vaisnavism as a part of bona-fide sampradaya, due to not having commentary of vedanta sutra. baladeva took up the challenge.
  23. the scene where the pot gets hot and smokes is also on you-tube. the you-tube video shows the trick.
