  1. Well ... I guess for you guys, it should be sufficient enough. No offense attended. I for one will continue to research more till I find an event which suits the Kurma Purana better.
  2. Sephiroth

    Nrsmha

I didn't know He attacked others because most websites and story I have read and seen showed that He attacked and killed Hiranskyasbu alone. Anyway, I will remember the qoute when I post in my own thread (in another forum). Thank you. BTW, beautiful picture ... mind telling me where you get it from?
  3. Warriors and hunters allowed to eat meat because they need the protein which will built tissues. I say this because I'm a martial artist myself, and I have seen difference in tissue healing during vegetarian period and non-vegetarian period. By eating less meat, the body will not receive enough protein to heal the injured tissues needed by warriors. In Brahmanas, however, their requirement is brain food such as vegetable. Their field of activity insists on thinking and research (mental aspect).
  4. Souls have no sex (meaning physical aspect) and therefore, asking whether it is Male or Female is not important. Your aspect of Male or Female comes from physical aspects alone. A man can become a mother if he choose to (female aspect) and a female can become a warrior if she choose to (male aspect). Furthermore, do I have to remind that Lord Shiva Himself have half male and half female body, mixing and controlling both male and female aspect in harmony. Just live life accordingly, and remember, sex is not ugly, it is indulging it in the wrong way which makes it wrong and ugly. Also, learn to cultivate your male aspect as well by Yogas and spiritual practice. I bet you will be surprise with the result. Good luck.
  5. Pls Register ... My question: Can the soul refuse to enter a new body? What happens to the soul if it refuses to enter a new body? I believe such souls (with strong attachments to the world) will enter other non-souled objects such as trees etc. Sometimes, they will try to enter other human body - especially weak-minded ones, causing possessions. The attachments comes from emotions of the deceases such as unhappy, anger, hatred etc. That is why some possessed people will cry, curse or does physical damage to others. They are trying to release the attachment by any means possible. Buddhist monks deal with this by chanting mantra which has calming effect. As the soul begin to forget its own attachment (anger, hatred etc) and only have feeling of peace, it will leave the body and enter a new cycle for reincarnation. Ever witness Hindu priests perform cleansing ceremony? They will asked those who are scared (weak-minded), children and pregnant women to leave the room. And then, they will summon the spirit to speak and ask what it wants. The spirit will tell its desires and the priest will ask whether it will let go off the individual if the request is accepted. Most of the time, the priest will fullfill the desires and pray for the soul's depart, sometimes, the soul just want to speak its opinion and goes off on its own after telling its story and sometimes, the priest have to enter a battle of wills with it to forcefully remove it, even to extend of nailing it to a tree. That is very rare case.
  6. Please register ... to bury and occupy land for dead body is not a smart thing to do. Tell that to Muslims and Christians. /images/graemlins/wink.gif Ever seen a graveyard? No large fruit bearing trees will grow there for a long time, only weeds. The land itself is darkish in color. I believe this is due to toxin from the body entering the chemicals in the land (and maybe water source) and causing the land to be ... I don't know? Docile? Barren of fruit bearing trees? Also, ever see the condition those electric burners (which they used in modern cremation facility)? There will be darkened, solid hard fats sticking to the side and the whole place gives a sickening aura to it. That maybe why Hindus cremate the body, they know about the toxins which exists in the body which can effect the land.
  7. India was a self-Sufficient community, up to 500 years ago, and so was Japan about 200 years ago. Your suggestions are correct and workable, but there is one problem. People who lives in this society must not wish for too much materialistic things. They should concentrate in having what they need and not what they want. Like Mahatma Gandhi said - "The World can support our needs, but not our Greed". A self-sufficient Community is where people produce food for the community, there also people who protect the community (police men), people who does manual labors and finally, a few gifted individuals who does research and development in field of science and technology because without Science, disease may appear, knowledge will be lost and people will become ignorant of Truth. In the end, it all boils down to the Vedas.
  8. Only way you can say who is the best and who is not is by going back in time and judge them accordingly. As a person who practice martial arts, I believe the strenght and skills of a person depends on how he uses his mental and spiritual strenght in real world, not only in battlefield. By that context, I judge Karna as the best warrior. He faced more problems to Arjuna ever did and came out to the top to receive Moksha from the Lord. He is the winner.
  9. At the battle with Vrad Desh, the Kauravas wasn't expecting Arjuna, were they? Arjuna was in disguise and therefore, he had the element of surprise in his side. If he used his superior skills toward unprepared opponents, he could win easily before they could suspect his identity. IF Arjuna was a great warrior that he claims to be, he should have taken away his disguise and fight fairly, even so he knew tat the period of exile had finished before he went to battle.
  10. Wrong ... He will come to cleanse with world. He came to do that as Parasuram, Rama and Krishna. He will come again as Kalki to cleanse the world again.
  11. Actually, I was thinking the same thing. Mahabratha Epic is one of the longest and most beautiful one the world have ever seen? If they make it into a movie like LORT, think of the impact it will have. I bet it will be more than that Jesus movie. /images/graemlins/smile.gif Maybe India should think about hiring Peter Jackson to do it. After all, India has resources and expertise in computer field to generate 3D characters required and Jackson has directing ability.
  12. You don't know much about interpretating the Mahabratha or understanding the Truth, do you. /images/graemlins/wink.gif In Mahabratha, Yudhistra was instructed to say Aswatham (the son of Drona) has died by Sri Krishna. Yudhistra told Him it was a lie and Sri Krishna instructed him to say it as an offering to Him (taking the sin to Himself, therefore making Yudhistra sinless). Instead, Yudhistra said "Aswatham the Elephant died" (in Hindi, the Elephant part comes last, I guess) and before it comes out, Sri Krishna blew His shell and deafetened everyone. So, did Yudhistra spoke a lie or spoke the truth? If he spoke the truth, why did his chariot drop to the ground? Answer - in Yudhistra's mind, he had spoken a lie, thus had stained himself with a sin. That "stain" brought his chariot down. Furthermore, Yudhistra considered the action sin against himself - an arrogant thought, even when Sri krishna was willing to receive his sin willingly. Yudhistra didn't give himself to God completely. So what does this tells you about Truth? Truth or Deception in Life depends on a person's views. Only by giving oneself totally to God, one knows about Truth and Deception.
  13. I don't usually butt in on other people's business, but I just wish to say something. The problem is my boyfriend now friend thinks im selfish adn that i don't care about him. We dated for a year and I've been telling him i want to be krsna conscious. He is the one who gave me a better version of the gita by the swami and told me to read it and be a better person. Please tell your boyfriend he should read the Gita first before giving it to another. And 1 year is not sufficient enough to know someone, enough to venture into sexual relation. I knew a guy who waited for one girl 8 years (one side love) and despite of the girl not accepting him in the end, he had no regrets of his love. I told him I don't want any physical contact and he says he doesn't see how that makes sense because we already hugged and he wants to take our relationship to the next level, a sexual level. He said he doesn't want to force me to do anything I don't want to do. I told him no. He tells me if I want to be with him, love him, care for him, marry him I should just do it and risk it even though its not guaranteed that we will get married. He says I have doubts and that's why I won't do it. I know cases of boys who have doubts in themselves, especially when the girl is prettier and they view themselves lack of ability to compete with other males for the girl's attention. In another word, your BF maybe scared you will run off on him, so he uses sexuality as a way to "mentally" tying a knot, so you will not go off to another person easily. Suggestion : 1. Ask your friend to enter into physical sports etc where his body can be strenghtened and he wouldn't think so much about sex all the time. 2. Concentrate in your study. Sex and Marriage can wait, at least till both graduate. 3. Being Krishna Consciousness is between you and God, no man have right to come between you and Him. Matter a fact, if you choose to devote you life for Krishna alone, then he has no authority to stop you as well.
  14. I don't see how Drona could include Sri Krishna into the statement when Sri Krishna never his student in the first place. I believe Ekalavya is the best of them, being born a hunter, learn the art just by concentration alone (unlike the others who learn directly from Drona) and finally did the ultimate "Guru Dakshan" (tribute to the Guru) by cutting his own thumb. I think the lowest is Arjuna, who mastered the skill only because he was the teacher's pet and Drona wanted him as the best student (his own ego).
  15. Please register. Thank You. 4) Arjuna escaped twice, once owing to sunset and then due to krishna's efforts Correction : Arjuna escaped Death a LOT of times with help of Sri Krishna. The sunset part is when Sri Krishna send His disc weapon and covered the sun which was about to set, making it look like the sun already set and Arjuna had lost the bet (he boosted that he could kill one of the Kauraves before sunset OR jump into a bonfire and kill himself). The other one is when Sri Krishna pushed the chariot down into the earth and save Arjuna's head from chopped off by Nagaastra. And WHY didn't Karna use his Nagaastra again? Because Sri Krishna instructed their mother to ask for a boon from Karna that he will not use Nagaastra more than once. THAT is why Karna survived twice from the same weapon. In my opinion, Karna - younger son of the Surya Bhavagan (Sun God, elder brother is Yama) is better than Arjuna. Why? Because even so both Arjuna and Karna shown Sri Krishna's Vishnu Roopa, ONLY Karna receive Moksha from Sri Krishna upon his death. This shows that God do not differenciate sinners and non-sinners, basically because we all are sinners. He differentiate us by the way we conduct our lives and how much good deeds (pooniam) we make.
  16. Please register, thank you. Say what you wish, I say Reject anything which do not hold importance to Hindusm in general and India in specific. Only then, Hindusm will survive. That includes NGOs who talk about liberal and at same time bribe poor people into their religions, terrorists training in your backyards and people pretending to be your friends only to riddicule your believe. Reject them all. http://news./s/ap/20050620/ap_on_re_us/southern_baptists In US, they planned to convert 1 Million a year, which means 1/10 of those newly converted could be heading to India to convert Indians. Think about that.
  17. Could you mind registering? IF International Press couldn't give the respect Hindusm deserve - REJECT them. IF Westerners do not give respect Indians and their beliefs deserves (due to 10,000 years of culture, heritage and history) then REJECT them. What did Mahatma Gandhi taught Hindus? That they are weak and need to be supported by Western idiots to survive? NO ... that Hindus CAN and WILL once again survived on their own. Hindus did before Europeans comes to India and plunder the country and Hindus did it under leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, they can do it again. Hell, even Japan has done it. It rejected American values and glorified its own culture and heritage. Japan now a strong country which becoming a backbone to Asian. We need another if we are to break from Western influence and I believe India is the best place.
  18. Frankly speaking, I won't bother to waste time with people who do not register, but I will make exception with you. It is NOT matter of competiting with others or not, it is about showing Hindusm in proper, scienfitic and modern look so the world will know that Hindusm (like Buddhism) is a religion for all age and time.
  19. Your Qoute : Hindus come in different hues and colors. Secularists, pacifists, commies, socialists, nationalists and so on. Even amongst secular hindus, there are 2 types-those who favor real secularism, which is the separation of religion from state and those who practice p-secularism, as our politicians do, bashing majority and baiting the minority. Hello ... I just wish to ask you something, which I found odd. Why do Hindus have Secular and Non-Secular fractions? :hmm: In the last 3,000 years of history, both Religion and Politics have been together in India, where Kyastrias rule, Brahmins guide and others contribute what they can to the society. In another word, Religion continued to become backbone of Indian Society which later influence and brought forth great progresses to the society AND the world. Yet now, Hindus themselves fight to separate it away from Politics, almost disregard their own history. WHY is that so?
  20. This is why Hindusm failing. Instead of agresively reshaping religious scriptures into modern definations of History, you shy away by stating it is different from actual history and therefore means not true. Do you know that Muslims and Christians agresively define their religion to fit History and Science with their own definations so it could be come a true story and not some separate scripture? Lastly ... Kurma Avatar said to withheld a mountain over a water, NOT a river or Indonesia or anything.
  21. I agree about the Martial Arts part, the Gayathri Mantra part leaves me wondering. Needs more information about the Mantra before I make any conclusions. All I know is that Gayathri Mantra a powerful mantra which enables one to access his or own internal energy, as illustrated by story of the Sage Wiswathan and his quest to lit a large light lamp in a temple (it was made into a movie, which was acted by Shivaji Ganesan, I believe). Anyway, modern Hindus needs to learn more about Hindusm, and don't simple state that accepting defeat in hands of non-believers will promote peace. Tolerance cannot be promoted if others do not treat you equally, and with Muslims and Christians, expecting equal treatments is like expecting rain during the dry season. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

May I ask what stupidity is this? How could anyone with common sense equalize Tsunami event which killed Indians, Sri Lankans, Thailand people, Muslims (from Indonesia) and several other races from Africa as well, TO Lord Narasimha's actions? First of all, Lord Narasimha killed ONLY Hirankyashabu. He did not harm ANYONE else. The most wicked of them all is killed and Pralathan is made king of Arakans so he could correct others. That is Lord Vishnu's Judgement. In Tsunami Event, all were killed - sinners and non-Sinners alike. It is like the event in Bible and Al Quran about the two cities - Sodom and the other one (forgot the name), where sinners and non-Sinners perished totally. And lastly, 9-11 is done by evil men with evil intents, NOT God or is it His will to implicit suffering upon people who do not worship Him. Either Vishnu nor Shiva had ever implicit any harms to others who do not believe in Them in ANY of the Puranas. Only those who are directly implicited suffering to believers are punished.
  23. Agreed fullheartedly. Take Nazism for example. They started with good intents. The German people were suffering due to economics and political problems and Hitler wanted to correct that condition by any means possible. But in less than 5 years, what has happened? Over 2 Million Jews had died, the world plunge to war and millions of people (both enemy and allies) died as well. Same with Islam. Before Islam came about, the Arabs are disorganized and in constant fued. Muhammad probably wanted to make Arab nations better. But look it now, in 1,400 years, Islam brought in more wars, violence, backward practise and turmoils in the world, equal to the evilness the Europeans brought to Asia from 17 century to now. Any Religions which cannot promote goodness MUST be thrown away, which include Islam and Christianity, in my opinion.
  24. Christianity is not monotheism the last time I checked. They split God into two - God and Jesus and claims both are the same and worshipping one will lead to the other.
  25. Ever heard the old saying "Empty cans make the most noise?" /images/graemlins/wink.gif Is there a moderator to this place? You guys seems to be plaque with Atheist Virus.
