  1. Excuse me ... WHAT is your problem? You give your opinion and I gave mine. It is up to the person who asked to choose which is better. Understood? Frankly speaking, I do not have to entertain people who do not courtesy of registering in any forum, because such actions considered to be RUDE. So beforewarn if you are NOT been entertained if you become further rude in manners to a registered forumer by making personal attacks on him/her. /images/graemlins/mad.gif Thank You.
  2. Beforehand ... I wish you people will register. Anyway, a lot of people in my country give some same account as you have experienced. They say it is not a ghost but naught spirits which sometimes cause problems for you. I also experienced many times but not pressed down. It more like someone kneeling down next to you and whispering to your ears, causing you to have horrible dreams. Here's some known remedies : 1. Wash your feet before entering your house, at least, before you go to bed. 2. Put something like a broom next to your bed (Indian remedy). I put my sword next to my bed, it works too. 3. Pray alot, place holy relic in your bed or wear it to sleep (Cross also work). 4. Or least, light a small lamp or have a small bed light near by. Never sleep in total darkness. Sometimes, such event is because of mental fear of the darkness also.
  3. Best proof of Reincarnation is yourself. Most people do not remember their past existence simply because they are too busy with current existence. So, by finding things which interest you the most (no matter how odd it maybe) and mastering it, there is a chance that you will start remembering your past as your skills becomes sharpened. To me, Swordmanship (Kenjutsu) is the key of me remembering some details of my past. Using that, I learn to understand myself and what I need to do in this existence. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
  4. Isn't Auspecious means like good? Like Auspecious day means good day. So Shiva's name could mean "the Good one" of something. Vish in Sankrit means "to Perserve" (I read somewhere in the Net) to Vishnu means "He who perserves (the universe)". So one (Shiva's) name means His character while another (Vishnu's) means His duty.
  5. European are migrated people from Africa, but there is a problem with that senario. See, according to History, up to 40,000 years ago, Homo Sapien couldn't move to Europe because of the Ice Age which covered most of the Europe at that time. Europe was habited by another sub-human species called Neathandhals (wrong spelling here, sorry). After the ice age resided, Homo Sapien made their way to Europe and populate there. Migration to India occurred during the 2nd migration of Humans - 200,000 years ago according to Out of Africa theory and Mitochondria analysation. Therefore, the group which settled in India and group settled in Europe has nothing in common to each other except the fact that they originated from same group in Africa. After that, all connection broke between them. If you accept that some of the part of Mahabratha (if not all) is based on history, then you could accept also that oral presevervation occurred before writing came, via Aryans. We know from history (which include that Discovery channel's programme) that people of Mesoptamia are skilled in writing, so they brought writing to India. As for your assumption of Aryan is term for culture, you are sadly mistaken. We know that in India, during the time of Mahabratha, people have already settled in India. They came from the 2nd Expedition from Africa. Aryans are people who settle in the North of India and were separated themselves via Caste or Varna system from Shivattes in the south. History proves it so. 3000 BC is AFTER 4600 BC, not BEFORE. Maybe ... we have not include other text such as Ramayana and the Vedas which is older than the Gita. No possible date is established for them and also, we know that such information about Hindusm have been perserved by oral perseverations by Hindus for a very long time before writing came about. So, we have no way of estimating how old Hindusm is, other than to accept Aryans brought writing to India and help produce scriptures as you see today. As for term Shivattes, I use that as means of differentiate the dark-skinned group of people who lived in India during the Aryans arrival. And show me where it is said that ONLY Hindus are allowed to talk about Hindusm since it is known as Santana Dharma. I don't believe you have authority to tell me not to speak about Hindusm.
  6. Discovery channel did a feature of the Great Flood which happened to happen, according to Historians in Mestophamia region, roughly around 4,600 BC. Some of the people who lived there run away to other parts of the world. Some ran to Egypt and started the Dynasty there and some ran to India and later known as Aryans. One of the features which Aryans have is they brought writings into India. And we know from epic such as Mahabratha about sinking of Drawada city occurs at the beginning of Kaliyuga (according to some Hindus) which is about 5,000 years ago. There is even excavations going on off the shores of Goa, I believe. So, Aryans cannot be the source of Hindusm if events such as that described in Mahabratha occured before their arrival (after 4,600 BC). Also, we know that Vedas are WRITTEN down by Sage Veda Vyasa at around 3100 BC, so given the time between 4,600 ~ 3100 BC, it is safe to assume that Aryans came and settle down in India, and writing flourish for nearly 1,000 years. And this writing is used to written down Epics and Puranas which was passed down orally about Shivattes ages before. So, Aryans are not source of Hindusm but people who contributed and wrote down orally perserved form of Hindusm which existed generations before.
  7. From God we come, to God we go. It is up to us to live properly so we could become worthy and it is up to Him to accept or deny. So why is it that we need another person (a middle-man) to take us to God when we can do this on our own? :stp:
  8. 1. Ahem ... so it Abrahamic Religions. I persume your so-called Hindu girl "friend" have no problem believing in those. /images/graemlins/wink.gif 2. Sages are not there to teach us about God, they are they as example of good and bad men do. By stating that Sages are there to taught you about God, you are mistaken them for prophets in Abrahamic religions. This is a wrong assumption. 3. As for caste ... ALL humans follow Caste directly or indirectly. Caste of Hindusm split men into 4 categories, following their own attitude toward the world and life. You will find Kysatrias in police department, military, navy etc who fight for their country. You will find Brahmins in teachers who teach others, doctors who save lives, researchers and such. You can find Sudras and Vaishas also in business men and regular works. ALL this are people who conduct their lives by their own attitude. BUT now, in India especially, due to ignorant and ego, what started at pillar of society have become problem of society. That has nothing to do with Hindusm, it has everything to do with human ego. 4. "Softies" in Hindusm are cowards? Go and ask the British government if their asses still hurt after got kicked by a Softy named Mahatma Gandhi. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif 5, 6 and 7. Bad Hindus become bad Hindu Parents. 8. Yes, a lot of anti-Hindus are misinterpreting them for their own usages, which is why it is important to have websites such as this. Don't be surprise if some people here are anti-Hindus as well.
  9. Prophets or Messiahs? Sure ..., however there is some difference. In Hindusm, Sages and Saints are mere humans with fault and sins. They are not angels. In Hindusm, Sage's actions are questioned by people. They are not like some prophets who are redeemed sinless and therefore, his actions are unquestionable. Islam has this sort of approach and therefore one of its weakness. Messiahs? If Messiahs are like Prophets, above conditions still applied to them. If Messiahs are like sons of God, then I don't see what a big deal about them either. Great Sage such as Pralathan (despite of been born from Arakan/Giant family) is called "Son" by Lord Vishnu (according to Mahabratha). Many Sages are also called Sons and Daughters by both Lord Shiva AND Lord Vishnu, so, safe to say, anyone who lives for God's sake is God's children. I don't understand what dogma is. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif Vaishnavas are just fools who say their worship is better than others, and attack Shavittes for their worship (toward Shiva). It is not who is right and who is wrong, it is how you approach God that makes a difference.
  10. I have been involved in adding information about Hindusm in another forum and I have been looking for info. on them also. Anyone providing it also will be appreciated also/
  11. Yeah ... and have you seen how some movies potray Indian youths? A girl falls in love with a local boy (both Indians). The father of the girl rejects, stating the boy is not good enough for the girl, despite of coming from a good family. Then the father arranges a marriage for the girl with a man from America, stating that the American (Indian) Boy is better and more "civilized" than Indian boy. While some may argue this is just a stupid plot in a stupid movie (directed by equally stupid director), it hold some logical ground when comes to mimicking mentality of Indians. Many Indians consider "Success" means you must be working as Engineer, Doctor, Lawyer etc and if that person works in countries like US, UK, Australia etc, it is even better. Exactly how does an Indian boy, grow up in a Western environment, influenced by free sex, boost, lack of Hindu values and culture, is better than an Indian boy who has good morale values, knows culture and heritage of India and practise Hindusm?
  12. It is not far-fetch, it is just empty. While my theory seems to be based on logic, your theory (that sages had taught it out) is far-fetch and has no basis. And furthermore, Indians (especially in the South) who probably never heard of Darwin or his theory have been referring the Sea and the Land as Mother for generations. And, if you see Discovery and National Geography channels, you will notice that uneducated Indians, living in rural villages and never knew any scientific theories and such, are better environmentalist in protecting the animals and nature, simply because they accept that Man comes from nature itself. It is not something Science could teach people (especially Westerners) to feel, no matter how high their Scientific development becomes.
  13. Good point. Invasion of Muslims is unforgivable but that is not vital reasons for Hindus to leave their own religion. Islam is not to blame if Hindus embrace it, it is personal choice and I for one do not condone Muslims for that. One of the reasons I see why is "laziness" of Hindus themselves. Another is Hindusm is not an easy religion to follow, especially in 21 century. Concept of Karma - What you sow is what you Reap is not something everyone will accept easily, even so, in this modern world, a lot of people reaping what they sow right in front of their own eyes. /images/graemlins/wink.gif Hindus want to believe in something simple, want to use more time for self-indulgements and less time to worry about their own sins. They want a Placebo which will make them forget their own sins. If you travel back in time about 2,000 years ago and ask most Hindus which they prefer - Live for sake of God or Live for their own sake, most people will choose God. Nowadays, I believe most people who choose to live for their own sakes. Sad indeed.
  14. Your Major Quake Sinking the Land story doesn't match with Kurma Avatar. For one thing, the gods put a mountain above water and Vishnu (in form of Kurma Avatar) stop it from sinking while they churn the ocean. There is NO earthquake, volcanoes or anything such involved in this. To know the past and to dwell in it is NOT the same. What is the use of knowing the past if all you do is talk about the past and not do anything of equal splendor for future? "Look, my ancestor built this and that" while you work as a kuli (servant) is idiotic at its best. That is what is happening to Indians nowadays. They move to places like US, UK and Australia, make foreigners who once ravaged their country, rich while their own land suffers. Not only in India, even here in my country, Malaysia, indians are doing the same. It has become a trend among Indian to pride themselves about their past while being a beggars at present. /images/graemlins/wink.gif
  15. Alright, you know Out of Africe Theory and understood where Aryans and Shivattes comes from. Now, where does the knowledge of Life beginning in the Sea comes from? I want acceptable hipothesis, thank you.
  16. I wish people who use other names besides Guest. Gives me a headache. If you say there is other theories besides darwin's which explains evolution, Please Share. I believe there is none. As for Darwin misinterpreted Vedas, I don't believe that is the case. Darwin travelled the world in search for floral and Fauna for his studies, NOT study of religion and religious texts which requires years to do so. So, Darwin's theory comes from his study of Nature, not the Vedas. In history, it is said that Darwin travelled to places like America, America Latin, Galpagos Island and Australia. My guess is, that he is studying the difference of flora and fauna which is separated by continent, expecting to find major difference in them. What he found (I believe) is similarites in structure and bases but modifications in functions based on regional conditions. Thus, he comes to conclude that all life comes from a similar source billions of years and underwent evolutions which separated it according to regional conditions.
  17. Oh yes, you did. You spoke that one of the reason why the land could be sinking is because of Valcanoes (qouting Indonesia here) and Vishnu took form to keep it afloat. Pls read your 1st statement. I don't wish to call you a liar. As for foreign oppression ... true to a certain degree. When Muslims invaded India, they destroy temples and oppressed the people. When British invaded India, they ban Ayurveda, calling it old-folks remedy and tried to implement their own medicine and science which they thought was superior. However, despite of all those Oppression, India's culture and heritage survived and in process of making a comeback. So instead of talking past, all Indians should talk about the future and how to promote and strenght it. India under Invaders' rules for 1,000 years, and it has been independant for 70+ years. I say it will take another 30 ~ 50 years for India to reach the minimun level it was in before the Invaders came. My guess. As for righteous beliefs ... no comment. People believe what makes it easy for them to believe. IF people which to believe that they are saved and booked a place in Heaven without doing anything ... what can you do? If notions of Reincarnation and karma makes them afraid, what can you say?
  18. Rebirth and Reincarnation is a bit different. Recarnation means the soul reborn into a new body - physical body changed and perish but Soul is imperisable, other than by hands of God (qouting the Gita here). Rebirth is Buddhist concept, I believe. The mind is the one associating with Rebirth where it is born into a new body and developed from there from scratch based on pervious existence. Rebirth occurs in various plains based on the person's actions. Incarnation is what applies to God. Incarnation means taking existences at will and that capability only exist to God (whether it is Shiva or Vishnu).
  19. You don't know much about Out Of Africa Theory, do you? /images/graemlins/wink.gif Ist migration of Humans started at 250,000 years ago. No detail about this people. The 2nd one 200,000 year ago (50,000 years later). This people moved across Afica's plains, to present day Kuwait, then to Iraq in the place of Mesotapmia region, and then moved East. In each spot they stopped, a human settlement is established. By 180,000 years ago, Humans reached India and a settlement is established there. They continued to Malaya, Indo-China, China and Japan, across the Bering Seas and into America. Settlements of Humans in India grew into dark-skinned people who later classified as Shaivettes. In 4,600 B.C, a massive flood in Mesotapmia region caused a group of people to move to other parts of the world. They moved to Egypt and some reached India. This were people known as Aryans. So, no where in history did any of this two races (Shavittes or Aryans) brought any records of Life beginning in the Sea.
  20. Excuse me ... but how is exactly does Americans becomes Sudra and Indians becomes Brahmins? Caste system already bad enough to be classifying men, now they are used to classify citizens of other nations as well? :stp:
  21. It is not my idea, it is something which made sense. I doubt they did such extensive research to the point that they could derive such conclusion. Even with Aryans (white skinned) people comes to contact with Shivattes (dark-skinned people), the Hindus concluded that there were two race of Human-like beings on the planet at that time and in the past. The idea of Life comes from the Sea and from a single point in origin is something I don't think the Hindus could have thought. Darwin comes to such conclusion after collecting samples from species all over the world and compare similarities and differences between them. To do that, he travelled across the globe for years. Sages could collect samples as well, but many of the species which exists in India, Africa and Asia were similar in appearance but differ in shape. Furthermore, Science at that time had established that the World is billions of years old. The Sages could not have known how old the Planet was and therefore, couldn't have guessed that Evolutions could have taken place. Lastly, the fact that Life began in the sea is not something you could cook out without facts. There is fossils of sea animals in rocks which Sages can find, however, it could easily be brushed asided as the land submerged in water in some period of time and has nothing to do with Evolution or Man.
  22. No, I didn't say your statement is nonsense. Just that the notion of Hindusm is (and therefore acceptable to) decline is because it is Kali yuga is unacceptable. Do Hindus really accept their religion decline is because Kali yuga and therefore needs not to be corrected, researched and shown to the world? And NO, I didn't say I was a Hindu. My beliefs comes from studying various spiritualism, including Buddhism. To me, Spiritualism is a VERY important aspect to keep and develop in order to push humans toward better evolution. Just look at the achievement for Mankind which done by Hindus since the last 10,000 years and so called achievement of present day Scientists and you would agree.
  23. Now, here's the 1 Million dollar question: IF the Purana stories about the Avatars is just myth (like claimed by MANY Hindus themselves), how was it possible for Sages in the past to correctly put such sequence in proper order and according to the Theory of Evolution AND History, 5,000 years ago? Sure, I can accept explaination that they were very smart and therefore, could predict the behaviors of early humans. There was report of finding remains of a small drawf-like humans in an island in Philliphines so early Sages could predict Homo Sapien began in such way as well. But notion that Life began in the Sea and evolved forward to the land is something the Sages cannot possibly predict.
  24. Nonsense. /images/graemlins/wink.gif Whether it is Kali yuga or not, it doesn't matter. Hindus have responsibility to go out, learn more about their own religion and then teach it to, at least, their children. It is their duty as a Hindu to know at least what the hell Hindusm is, instead of followig it blindly. Hindus now are too materistics in approach and thinking. When comes to wealth, it is "Do today" attitude but when comes to Spiritualism, it is "Do tomorrow" attitude.
