This topic is really close to the heart of the two threads on homosexuality which are at about ten pages. It was at the bottom of the page and about to slip out of sight.I think it is very important and thank Krishnacandra for raising it. What is an innovation or adjustment, and what is a deviation?How are the differences to be recognized?

Okay this is my last bashing of my head against the wall for tonight.I am frustrated admittedly. Audarya-lila, it is really not that.The 'policy' that you refer to here is something that Srila Prabhupada has explictly condemed. It is about directly going against the acaryas instructions in the matter.The policy you refer to is the sanctioning of homo marriages unions etc. When two people are married before God or call it united before God it is considered a blessed sanctioning of the joining of two lives as one.I see it as a sacred act. That is sanction.Rather Christian style ceremony or Vedic.He is advocating sanction in the name of the Gaudiya Sampradaya. Who is 'we'?That is between the guru and the aspirants.And of course the guru must probe their lives on many levels.And the aspirants must probe the gurus lives as well,to the fullest degree posssible. Those of us who are opposed to this sanctioning of homo lifestyles have precedent in the form of the God given varnashrama system and the example and words of previous acaryas.We are on solid ground.

Brahma's point is those statements are now outdated, so we can just toss them out.I'm not sure how much of the discussion you have followed on a couple different threads, but Brahma is considering sanctioned,[as in formal fire sacrifice marriages] for homos. I am not sure if Tripurari is going quite that far. It is one thing to accept people for programs etc. but to formally give sanction to homosex through marriage is a real concoction.
