  1. Yes, they seem to have misunderstood the instruction from the Bible for mankind to be 'fruitful' and multiply.Gen.1.28 Having taken a wrong meaning of the word 'fruitful'they are unable to multiply in the natural way. What is left to them is to convince the hetero society that homosexuality is just another lifestyle choice, different but on par with theirs. Recruitment then is their means of procreation. 2. TRANSLATION Bg 4.9 One who knows the transcendental nature of My appearance and activities does not, upon leaving the body, take his birth again in this material world, but attains My eternal abode, O Arjuna. PURPORT The Lord’s descent from His transcendental abode is already explained in the 6th verse. One who can understand the truth of the appearance of the Personality of Godhead is already liberated from material bondage, and therefore he returns to the kingdom of God immediately after quitting this present material body. Such liberation of the living entity from material bondage is not at all easy. The impersonalists and the yogis attain liberation only after much trouble and many, many births. Even then, the liberation they achieve—merging into the impersonal brahmajyoti of the Lord—is only partial, and there is the risk of returning to this material world. But the devotee, simply by understanding the transcendental nature of the body and activities of the Lord, attains the abode of the Lord after ending this body and does not run the risk of returning to this material world. In the Brahma-samhitä (5.33) it is stated that the Lord has many, many forms and incarnations: advaitam acyutam anädim ananta-rüpam. Although there are many transcendental forms of the Lord, they are still one and the same Supreme Personality of Godhead. One has to understand this fact with conviction, although it is incomprehensible to mundane scholars and empiric philosophers. As stated in the Vedas (Puruña-bodhiné Upanisad): eko devo nitya-lélänurakto bhakta-vyäpé hådy antar-ätmä “The one Supreme Personality of Godhead is eternally engaged in many, many transcendental forms in relationships with His unalloyed devotees.” This Vedic version is confirmed in this verse of the Gitä personally by the Lord. He who accepts this truth on the strength of the authority of the Vedas and of the Supreme Personality of Godhead and who does not waste time in philosophical speculations attains the highest perfectional stage of liberation. Simply by accepting this truth on faith, one can, without a doubt, attain liberation. The Vedic version tat tvam asi is actually applied in this case. Anyone who understands Lord Krsna to be the Supreme, or who says unto the Lord “You are the same Supreme Brahman, the Personality of Godhead,” is certainly liberated instantly, and consequently his entrance into the transcendental association of the Lord is guaranteed. In other words, such a faithful devotee of the Lord attains perfection, and this is confirmed by the following Vedic assertion: tam eva viditväti måtyum eti nänyaù panthä vidyate ’yanäya “One can attain the perfect stage of liberation from birth and death simply by knowing the Lord, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and there is no other way to achieve this perfection.” (Svetäsvatara Upanisad 3.8) That there is no alternative means that anyone who does not understand Lord Krsna as the Supreme Personality of Godhead is surely in the mode of ignorance and consequently he will not attain salvation simply, so to speak, by licking the outer surface of the bottle of honey, or by interpreting the Bhagavad-gitä according to mundane scholarship. Such empiric philosophers may assume very important roles in the material world, but they are not necessarily eligible for liberation. Such puffed-up mundane scholars have to wait for the causeless mercy of the devotee of the Lord. One should therefore cultivate Krsna consciousness with faith and knowledge, and in this way attain perfection.
  3. Dear leyh, I am not offended by anything you said. What though would you have me call them other than homosexuals?I refuse to call them 'third gendered', as if it is a legitimate term. They are the ones that are setting themselves apart with this very very offense name of their organization, galva.Trying to link Vaisnavism with homosex. The only normal condition is being a Krishna Bhakta. We know that. The soul is only imagining itself to be hetero or homo. But even within this material nature there are natural laws.Same sex relationships as 'they' practice are not sanctioned on any level.Even if they say they are celibate they are still confused.Men should relate as brothers, women as sisters. Not all of them have this militant agenda thank God, as it is a subject that doesn't deserve much dwelling on, just some firm resolve that it is a demonic behavior that has no sanction from the Hare Krishna movement. Hare Krishna YS MC
  4. leyh, From reading your posts I know you have a soft heart. This is not a case of judging someone, but rather a behavior. I have had an initiated student of Srila Prabhupada of long standing, and a lesbian, tell me she thought there should be homo marriages sanctioned by ISKCON.Meaning with FIRE SACRIFICE! I would suspect there are the same who don't feel that way. In any case the subject rarely comes up and only when the homos bring it up and make it an issue. When we attend a temple function at least we need to leave our bad habits at home in the closet. Isn't that reasonable?
  5. I have notice the non-appearing post phenomenon. It will show the time the post went in, but sometimes the post itself takes a long time to become visible. This I have even noticed on one page threads. Some threads will work fine while this is happening. I saw this also on VNN from time to time. That four page thread is too much for me anyway.I was trying to follow Satyaraja and became rather dizzy and gave up.It seemed to be revolving from pg.4 to 1 and back again.
  6. From reading Chakra the last few days it appears the homosexual crowd is ochestrating an attempted coming out party in the mind set of Vaisnava adherents. What do they want anyway? To be able to hold hands with their "partners" at the Sunday feast?Lavender dhotis? Lord Caitanya's movement is already open to everyone without qualification.Anyone can begin chanting Hare Krishna from any position. They are seeking only a social acceptance. Some have come up with the Gay And Lesbian Vaisnava Association[GALVA] to promote their gender confusion. Truth is they will only find relief in Vaisnava Association which necessitates that we all drop our false identification and act on the spiritual platform. 7. This again?Well I want my vote counted as a firm I don't care which way I have to scroll. I won't be changing so save the lobbying efforts.
  8. And the world honors these demons with the Olympic games. Greedy capitalist pigs would sell freedom for a buck.Someone else's that is.
  9. When I read the Song of Solomen it reminds me of madhurya-rasa.I don't know the intent of the author however.Perhaps someone will speak to this song.I would love to hear an advanced soul with knowledge of rasa discourse on this song. And what a nice gift it would be to the Christian world. This is from Chapter five. The Shulamite(young Palestinian women)is speaking as she has just heard her beloved knocking and speaking to her at her bed chambers door. 4. My beloved put his hand by the latch of the door, and my heart yearned for him. 5.I arose to open for my beloved, and as my hands dripped with myrrh,my fingers with liquid myrrh,on the handles of the lock. 6.I opened for my beloved, but my beloved had turned away and was gone.My heart went out to him when he spoke.I sought him,but I could not find him;I called him, but he gave me no answer. 7.The watchmen who went about the city found me.They struck me,they wounded me;The keepers of the walls took my veil away from me.I charge you,O daughters of Jerusalem,if you find my beloved, that you tell him that I am lovesick.
  10. Oh, that sounds like a nice pratice. What a beautiful culture that takes the time to celebrate the higher sentiments of human life. Thanks animesh.
  11. animesh, what is Raakhi day? Today is the appearance day of Lord Balarama. MC
  12. Ädi 1.84 - “I offer my respectful obeisances unto Sri Krsna Caitanya and Lord Nityänanda, who are like the sun and moon. They have arisen simultaneously on the horizon of Gauòa to dissipate the darkness of ignorance and thus wonderfully bestow benediction upon all.” Ädi 1.85- 86 - Sri Krsna and Balaräma, the Personalities of Godhead, who formerly appeared in Vrndävana and were millions of times more effulgent than the sun and moon, have arisen over the eastern horizon of Gaudadesa [West Bengal], being compassionate for the fallen state of the world. Ädi 1.87 - The appearance of Sri Krsna Caitanya and Prabhu Nityänanda has surcharged the world with happiness. Ädi 1.88- 89 - As the sun and moon drive away darkness by their appearance and reveal the nature of everything, these two brothers dissipate the darkness of ignorance covering the living beings and enlighten them with knowledge of the Absolute Truth. Ädi 1.90 - The darkness of ignorance is called kaitava, the way of cheating, which begins with religiosity, economic development, sense gratification and liberation. Ädi 1.91 - “The great scripture Srimad- Bhägavatam, compiled by Mahä- muni Vyäsadeva from four original verses, describes the most elevated and kindhearted devotees and completely rejects the cheating ways of materially motivated religiosity. It propounds the highest principle of eternal religion, which can factually mitigate the threefold miseries of a living being and award the highest benediction of full prosperity and knowledge. Those willing to hear the message of this scripture in a submissive attitude of service can at once capture the Supreme Lord in their hearts. Therefore there is no need for any scripture other than Srimad- Bhägavatam.” Ädi 1.92 - The foremost process of cheating is to desire to achieve liberation by merging into the Supreme, for this causes the permanent disappearance of loving service to Krsna. Ädi 1.93 - “The prefix ‘pra’ [in the verse from Srimad- Bhägavatam] indicates that the desire for liberation is completely rejected.” Ädi 1.94 - All kinds of activities, both auspicious and inauspicious, that are detrimental to the discharge of transcendental loving service to Lord Sri Krsna are actions of the darkness of ignorance. Ädi 1.95 - By the grace of Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityänanda, this darkness of ignorance is removed and the truth is brought to light. Ädi 1.96 - The Absolute Truth is Sri Krsna, and loving devotion to Sri Krsna exhibited in pure love is achieved through congregational chanting of the holy name, which is the essence of all bliss. Ädi 1.97 - The sun and moon dissipate the darkness of the external world and thus reveal external material objects like pots and plates. Ädi 1.98 - But these two brothers [Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityänanda] dissipate the darkness of the inner core of the heart, and thus They help one meet the two kinds of bhägavatas [persons or things in relationship with the Personality of Godhead]. Ädi 1.99 - One of the bhägavatas is the great scripture Srimad- Bhägavatam, and the other is the pure devotee absorbed in the mellows of loving devotion. Ädi 1.100 - Through the actions of these two bhägavatas the Lord instills the mellows of transcendental loving service into the heart of a living being, and thus the Lord, in the heart of His devotee, comes under the control of the devotee’s love. Ädi 1.101 - The first wonder is that both brothers appear simultaneously, and the other is that They illuminate the innermost depths of the heart. Ädi 1.102 - These two, the sun and moon, are very kind to the people of the world. Thus for the good fortune of all, They have appeared on the horizon of Bengal. Ädi 1.103 - Let us therefore worship the holy feet of these two Lords. Thus one can be rid of all difficulties on the path of self- realization.
  13. TRANSLATION SB 3.28.42 A yogi should see the same soul in all manifestations, for all that exists is a manifestation of different energies of the Supreme. In this way the devotee should see all living entities without distinction. That is realization of the Supreme Soul.
  14. Relying solely on the mundane intelligence presents problems.Sifting through the works of past mundane scholars one has to dodge their many misconceptions and prejudices that they are undoubtly conditioned by,and unwittingly pass on.Here is one example. In 1966 Edward C.Dimock published The Place of the Hidden Moon.In 1989 it was brought out again in paperback. This edition also has a note from the author in which he admits to errors in the previous 1966 edition. He writes;"If I were to write the present book today, it would be a very different one."And "There is one area, however, of which I am no longer so sure." He received criticism for connecting " ...the names of various devotees of the Vaisnava school to its Sahajiya branch(I suspect there would be an objection to my caling it a "branch"), and in some ways I think he(Professor Joseph T.O'Connell) is justified in his criticism. The reader might be advised to be cautious when going through the list of names in the chapter entitled,"Caste,Women, and the Sahajiya Movement,"for often the evidence is flimsy or circumstantial." Mr. Dimock had listed even Ramananda Raya as a Sahajiya. He backed away from that position and admits his mistake, which is laudable. But what of those who never read his retraction? What an erroneous impression they are left with. He has recently passed away but not before translating Caitanya -Caritamrta.Too late for him to be able to correct any errors that he may have found. I am not trying to attack this scholarly gentleman. It is just that recently there was a suggestion on these forums that we read the very chapter mentioned above, so it seemed fitting to point out the authors own warning about that section. 15. yasmin sarvani bhutany atmaivabhud vijanatah tatra ko mohah kah soka ekatvam anupasyataha One who sees all living entities as spiritual sparks, in quality one with the Lord, becomes a true knower of things. What, then, can be illusion or anxiety for him. Sri Isopanishad mantra seven
  16. Dear Bhakta's Gopala,Bhakta Shakta,Gopala Shakta et all. That's a good wish.May Krishna grant it to us all. It takes equal vision to see all entities as His parts and parcels. But if you didn't like that one you may not like the following one either.
  17. yas tu sarvani bhutany atmany evanupasyati sarva-bhutesu catmanam tato na vijugupsate He who sees everything in relation to the Supreme Lord, who sees all entities as His parts and parcels and who sees the Supreme Lord within everything, never hates anything nor any being. 18. So on this holy day I find it good to remember how I came to hear of Krishna consciousness. Being uninformed and totally directionless I didn't travel to Vraja to seek it out.Fortunately the Gosvamis of Vrndaban took seriously the task of assisting Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu in His worldwide distribution of the fruits of love of Godhead. This distribution was then carried forth by Bhaktivinode Thakur, Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati and widely distributed in the West by Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada and his disciples. Relative to ones own life other names may appear in the chain, but the common debt to Srila Rupa Gosvami is shared by all. I have yet to enter that line in reality, but by their grace my future births now have some hope. All glories to Srila Rupa Gosvami! TRANSLATION Adi 7.164 Lord Caitanya dispatched the two generals Rüpa Gosvämi and Sanätana Gosvämi to Vrndävana to preach the bhakti cult. PURPORT When Rüpa Gosvämi and Sanätana Gosvämi went to Vrndävana, there was not a single temple, but by their preaching they were gradually able to construct various temples. Sanätana Gosvämi constructed the Madana-mohana temple, and Rüpa Gosvämi constructed the Govindajé temple. Similarly, their nephew Jiva Gosvämi constructed the Rädhä-Dämodara temple, Sri Gopäla Bhatta Gosvämi constructed the Rädhä-ramana temple, Sri Lokanätha Gosvämi constructed the Gokulänanda temple, and Shyämänanda Gosvämi constructed the Shyämasundara temple. In this way, many temples were gradually constructed. For preaching, construction of temples is also necessary. The Gosvämis not only engaged in writing books but also constructed temples because both are needed for preaching work. Sri Caitanya Mahäprabhu wanted the cult of His sankirtana movement to spread all over the world. Now that the International Society for Krishna Consciousness has taken up this task of preaching the cult of Lord Caitanya, its members should not only construct temples in every town and village of the globe but also distribute the books that have already been written and further increase the number of books. Both distribution of books and construction of temples must continue side by side in parallel lines.
  19. Probably here also atma, but I can't remember the last time I went to the temple in the morning. I'll ask today and who knows I may get inspired enough to drag my lasy bu...I mean mind over there to attend. YS MC
  20. Jhulana yatra—the swing festival beginning on the third day of the month of Shravan (July-August) and lasting for a fortnight. The swings, usually made from gold or silver, are hung in temples on which the Deities are swung during kirtan by the guests and Vaisnavas. I love this festival. When all get to swing Sri Sri Radha-Gokulananda,if even just for a few moments. For five evenings in a row no less.
  21. Lol.I know what you mean. It's just impossible to maintain the false enjoying spirit when the cottage cheese conception comes in.Makes no difference large curd or small. "Blood and fat, just blood and fat". I go to Vraja in late Sept.First trip but better late than never.
  22. LOL There is always one in every crowd.
  23. CREST-FALLEN Those who have fallen in Love with the Lord from afar Count each moment as twelve years or more.
