They do try to make me feel like a freak. It is odd how they always bring it up. Like you I don't mention otherwise.

eew - are they that gross? I am kinda sensitive and some things tend to disturb too much. are there any mildly gross things that won't disturb me that I can use on them?

I tried really hard to find a cyber hug symbol but that proved futile. I have been finding the dharma mela increasingly difficult to follow so basically have not read it for a while. So I really don't know what has caused you this distress but don't let it bother you so much. Not everyone is going to agree with everyone and at some point in time it will be your turn. I read your posts and feel that you have some very valid input and hope that the disagreement on the dm does not stop you from posting. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and keep on associating on the forums. \ / (hug)

Haribol Gauracandra: I live in a tiny tiny community and there were only two vegetarians and one moved. Now I seem to be the only one here. My co-workers also love to "grill" me and it "fries" me! I have also noted that they all seem offended by me - the simple fact that I am a vegetarian upsets them and I too had come to the conclusion that it has to be guilt on their part even if it is at a subconscious level. The other woman I work with goes on murder sprees each fall with her husband and young daughter and I actually have to take her first day back off work sick to avoid the gory details. She relishes bringing up something meat related on a daily basis. I have tried the subtle approach and am now ready for your method - gross them out!! I am going to use your ideas and would appreciate anymore gross out things to say to these people. Basically, I would just like for them to shut up. I know they are all doing this to try to get to me and I ignore them but they persist. ys le

Yes, this documentary is incredible. I will not go into any details of the part that I saw. I would like for others to see it also and come back to discuss it here. I will say that after seeing that portion the other night I was ready to go over there and take care of them myself.

UPDATE: "Under the Veil" will also be shown tonight on CNN at 8 p.m. pst. Anyone with access to CNN needs to watch this.

Must see tv - Sunday at 4 p.m. PST a documentary called "Under the Veil" on CNN. I saw a small portion of this the other night and I think the pacifists protesting military action against the Taliban should watch this one very carefully. Funny you call her "Param" after you got upset with someone for leaving the devi dasi off someone else's name! You never did let me know if you were able to see the disk. I would love for you to see this.

Ok, Here is how I did it - see if it works for you. Insert the disk. Open the windows media player and press play. Really - that is all I did.

I have just been able to open this disk in my computer dvd player and also my windows media player. Do you have either one? I also got into it through realplayer. Let me know what you have and I will try to help.

No leyh, it is not a cliche that Prabhupada is there in His books because He is there in His books, tapes etc etc. Because of this more and more people are continuing to find Krishna Consciousness even after all these years. Prabhupada's writings are powerful. I liked the original post in this thread because if there is any doubt about why we are to read Prabhupada's books that quote should erase it. I think I am going to print that quote out and place it where I can see it more often.
