The mind does rebel alot , but it is important for us to not to give in to the desires and cravings of the mind which do not abide by the four principals. When I started following the four principals, I had my mind rebel the most for like a month, but I did not give in. The desire vanished when it could not hold on to me.

If you look in the bhagavatham friend, you will find alot of prayers on the supreme personality of the Godhead. The best prayer in my view would be hare krishna maha mantra. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

So by your perspective, Hinduism is basically all pure and totally good while the rest of the religions are nothing but perverted ways of living and were written by idiots? but if you say that is that logical? Every religion today has some darkness within its past. I can get all the dirt on hinduism too.

Today, people kill each other, hurt each other and destroy each other in the name of Religion. What is the point in having a religion and a God if it does not solve our problems? We see so many problems from the past, which this religion has caused. What is this religion that plagues our lives every single day and makes us hate each other? What is the definition of evil and good? Is stoning two people who commit adultery (As said in the bible) something which gets rid of evil? A few questions please answer... i am desperate.. 1) what is the point of religion? 2) what is the true evil, or is there anything that is "evil"? 3) what is good? 4) what is sin? I feel that when we say lets become self less we are actually trying to become selfless due to selfishness- we want to save ourselves. I think religion is just to fool ourselves that we are truly on the side of the supreme... which we are not. We make up stupid rules, we follow them and then make others get hurt.

but prabhu you should never force one to take on Krishna bhakthi. Krishna may want something else from them. Furthermore, Krishna never gives up on any one. Every one is dear to him. He is the most understandable and most capable. Even though you think that he has given up on you, it is only a test for you or a way for him to get closer to you.

When I feel like eating ice cream and don't want to gain weight, I would mentally set myself apart from my body.. then watch the desire as it fails to hold on and gets weaker and weaker ... and eventually dies. /images/graemlins/smile.gif I recommend brisk walking about 2 miles each day... /images/graemlins/grin.gif and meditation and some yogic excercises (yoga with a teacher) . that should be enough.

When I say "caring" I do not mean "don't take care of your body"... yes you have to take care of you body, but what I mean is, you shouldn't care about what happens to it and you shouldn't think that it is yourself. You have to eat, keep it clean, because yes, it is a temple of your soul... but you should not compare it with yourself. You should not think it is as important as yourself. In other words, the body your in is just a tool to reach the supreme, you should not care about the painting , but should care about the one who painted it.

Just as you exist in this "kingdom of 9 openings"(body) in the same way Iswara exists in this material universe. Brahman is one with the material universe, he is the one who is the universe and the one who exists in it and out of it. In other words, the whole universe could be compared to a wave in the body of the water, the wave exists only for a movement, and so does the whole universe that we see before us. It only exists for a moment. You are the individualized "mind" or the "ego" that is thought to exist by brahman... if you take yourself out of the picture, what is left is Paramatma. It is also said that you are different from him only because of illusion and you are never seperate from him. It is a hard concept to explain... but if you try to visualize this concept then you will come to the conclusion that nothing really exists, nothing matters and everything is one reality-Krishna. The way to know Krishna is not through the individualized ego's deductions.. such mental speculations prove nothing, but true bhakthi and devotion will come to know the supreme person (both in manifest /unmanifest forms). /images/graemlins/grin.gif
