I agree that Ozzy sounds better, but then again technology has moved on a lot since his early days!

I cant imagine Plant ever reaching the same notes he did when he was younger, but then neither can most people his age. His vice still sounds unmistakeable though, same as Ozzy.

Hi Peter

> By the way the reference was to his old band Elf, which I assumed was his own piss take on his height.

It was partly because of Ronnie, and partly because of his cousin, who was also a member, and also of similar height... they were originally called "The Electric Elves", but changed their name in about 1972 before recording their first album... some 14 years after the first album Dio recorded with The Vegas Kings. Amazing to think that he's been active on the music scene for 47 years... I bet not many people can match that!

Hi Jo

Maybe because it was just me and my Dad from early on, but I never

minded being with him either.

Though I definately could not see him wanting to go to a rock

concert with me. Even though he could have just turned the hearing

aid off at anytime.

Well, Jo, my kidlets don't think your kids are strange.

I'd say it was something in the water down there but I was raised in the Bay

Area and we all went to concerts and stuff with our parents and the kidlets

with us, so go figure. Maybe it is the generation that is living there now.

I know it isn't the homeschooling families I know cause they are all still

doing stuff together even four generations!

what did you think about his mtv show,

I saw a few episodes last year or so

and I thought it was too ostentatious.

but then again, his lyfestile isn't any

differrent from people with his kind of money.

I didn't particularly care for it. I don't particularly care for his wife

and the kids are a bit on the obnoxious side and dogs pooping all over the

house is just too much. Thought I did think throwing the ham at the

Hi Fraggle

I know you didn't say 'Jo's kids are stange' in those words, but you

laughed and said you thought it weird and no way would you do that -

which by implication means 'jo's kids are strange'. That's what peer

pressure is really. Now maybe you didn't mean it like that and you

know I like you anyway - but ......

Hi Nikki

I guess our family just all like the same kind of music, so therefore

it would be natural to go together - it would seem very strange if we

all went to the same concert but not together- a little mad, in

fact. Colin and I do everything together, so we do go to concerts

because one of us likes the band - and usually both end up enjoying

it a lot anyway. Peter goes to concerts he likes whether we go or

not.

Hi Jo

I think that it is more of an image thing. He doesn't want to be

seen with his Father at that age in public.

It may be a cultural thing because it is like that here in the US

for most teens.
