  1. I started getting this skin problem from last winter. Fist white patches come & skin on patches turns wrinkled & dry. Simultaneously hair on patched skin starts falling. Also frequently i get small boils each boil on skin hair root all over body & these boils burn & itch. I never had pimples or boils in my life . suddenly from last year this started happening. Now that white patches had started coming again but with black spots added. This patches don't have any itch or burning. Right now patches have appeared on left thigh area near abdomen. Last year when first it got started i consulted a dermatologist she gave me supplements of evening primrose & some aloevera solution to apply . It did not help. After that i consulted a ayurveda doctor he gave me some powder , tablets & Mahamanjistadi kadha. After around 3 weeks that boils were cured but that time patches were on my calves behind on both legs. patches increased in size Skin become scaley itchy with no hair on skin. Seeing this Ayurveda doctor refereed a allopathic doctor. Allopathic Doctor prescribed Ebastine 20 tablets, also told to apply liquid paraffin on skin in morning after bath & cotaryl cream before going to bed. After 2 weeks i was back to normal but wrinkles remain were the patches came. Also allopethic Doctor said it will repeat every year there is no permanent solution for these I always feel i am constipated. i used to take triphala churna every two or three days. i am 27 yrs old. hight 5.4", Weight 76kg. i have no other problem & i don't take any other medications. Doctors Please get me out of these

  6. Ayurvedic Medicine is an ancient system based medicine, which evolved among the Brahmin sages of ancient India. Ayurveda is from the roots "ayur" meaning life and "veda" meaning knowledge. Ancient Vedic texts indicate the system is the oldest being practiced prior to 4000 B.C. and some believe it is even 8000 years old. Ayurveda and Traditional (TCM) are very similar being based on universal natural bi-polar concepts that matter and energy are one. There are several aspects of this system of medicine which distinguish it from other approaches to health care: o The focus of Ayurveda is to integrate and balance the body, mind, and spirit, rather than focusing on individual symptoms. This is believed to help prevent illness and promote wellness by balancing the three subtle energies known as Doshas - individually they are Vatha, Pitta and Kapha. o Ayurveda philosophy posits people, their health, and the universe are related. It is believed that health problems can result when these relationships are out of balance. o Ayurveda, herbs, metals, massage, and other products and techniques are used with the intent of cleansing the body and restoring balance. Some of these products may be harmful when used on their own or when used with conventional medicines. o Ayurveda recognizes the unique constitutional differences of all individuals and therefore recommends different regimens for different types of people. Although two people may appear to have the same outward symptoms, their energetic constitutions may be very different and therefore call for different remedies. o Ayurveda is a complete medical system which recognizes that ultimately all intelligence and wisdom flows from one Absolute source (Paramatman). Health manifests by the grace of the Absolute acting through the laws of Nature (Prakriti). Ayurveda assists Nature by promoting harmony between the individual and Nature by living a life of balance according to her laws. o Ayurveda describes three fundamental universal energies which regulate all natural processes on both the macrocosmic and microcosmic levels. That is, the same energies which produce effects in the various galaxies and star systems are operating at the level of the human physiology--in your own physiology. These three universal energies are known as the Tridosha. o The ancient Ayurveda physicians realized the need for preserving the alliance of the mind and body and offers mankind tools for remembering and nurturing the subtler aspects of our humanity. Ayurveda seeks to heal the fragmentation and disorder of the mind-body complex and restore wholeness and harmony to all people. Unlike Traditional Western Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine is non-invasive and focuses on the individual's needs and prevention versus treating symptoms as one-size-fits all. Taking OTC and presecription drugs for symptoms that might have a different source than someone else makes as much sense as buying a hat sized for someone else. o Is your Liver receiving the Nutritional Support it Needs? o Are you Taking the Right Antioxidants in the Right Quantities? o Does Your Body Metabolize proteins effectively or poorly? o Does Your Body Metabolize Fats or Carbohydrates effectively or poorly? o Are Hidden Food Sensativities or Allergies Making you Ill? During the last century, Ayurveda Medicine has completed a rebirth and continues to evolve its holistic approach to health in accordance with modern needs and scientific advances of the day. Established in 1982 by Scott Gerson, M.D., PhD, who is the nation's only medical doctor to hold degrees in both Ayurveda and allopathic medicine, the National Institute of Ayurvedic Medicine (NIAM) is recognized as the largest and most authentic resource of information on Ayurveda in the United States.

The book "Practice of Ayurveda" by Swami Sivananda in PDF format. Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj was a healer of the body in his Purvashram (before he entered the Holy Order of Sannyasa). He was a born healer, with an extraordinary inborn love to serve humanity; that is why he chose the medical profession as a career. That is why he edited and published a health Journal "Ambrosia". That is why he went over to Malaya to serve the poor in the plantations there. And, strangely enough, that is why, he renounced the world and embraced the Holy Order of Sannyasa. He was a healer of the body and the soul. This truth is reflected in the Ashram which he has established in Rishikesh. The huge hospital equipped with modern instruments was set up and the entire Ashram where all are welcome to get themselves healed of their heart’s sores and thoroughly refresh themselves in the divine atmosphere of the holy place. Sri Swamiji wanted that all systems of healing should flourish. He had equal love and admiration for all systems of healing. He wanted that the best of all the systems should be brought out and utilised in the service of Man. He has written a number of books on all aspects of Healing—from the Naturopathic and Allopathic points of view. This one dealing with Ayurveda is a valuable addition to the healer’s armamentarium. Ayurveda is the Veda or knowledge of Ayus or life. It has been classified as the Fifth Veda. Ayurveda is a distinct Veda. It is even superior to the other Vedas because it gives life which is the basis of all enjoyments, study, meditation and Yoga Sadhana. Ayurveda is the science of life. It shows the way to remove diseases, to keep up sound health and attain longevity. Ayurveda was in vogue in India since very early times. The Ayurvedic and Siddha systems have played a very important and vital part in the sphere of public health. Their popularity is due to their availability, cheapness and efficacy. Here is a beautiful ideal of Charaka: "Not for self, not for the fulfilment of any earthly desire of gain, but solely for the good of suffering humanity should you treat your patients and so excel all. Those who sell the treatment of disease as merchandise gather the dust and neglect the gold." Charaka also says: "A physician who cannot enter into the innermost soul of the patient with the bright light of the lamp of his own knowledge cannot successfully treat any disease." India has ever been evolving art after art, science after science, as her contribution to the common heritage of all the nations of the world. Her greatest gift to the world is the gift of the spiritual science of Self-perfection. Next to it we should place this Science of Life, the Ayurveda, as a precious gift to be carefully developed and broadcast to all nations. It is a national duty of every Indian.
