1. On this forum there are two things gossip and nectar. Since I am young it is better to soak up the nectar rather than the gossip because these things will last my whole life. I will start the discussions as soon as I get the time to read some Uddhava Gita!
2. Yes, Sudarsan mantra is very good. I have had to use it when I got really sick and it was doubtful whether I would live or not. A must to chant that mantra!
3. Jai! Lets use this thread to discuss different points that we will read in Uddhava Gita!
4. Not true. Karna was being bitten by a scorpion but did not budge because his teacher was taking rest. When Parshuram found out then he understood Karna was a ksatriya due to his immense power of tolerating. There is no value in being a smarta brahmana. Even I am a descendent of Sandilya Muni, but there is no value in that. Character matters. Maharaja Yudhisthira said so himself. Since I have the mentality of a sudra, how can I be called a brahmana?
5. Ohe Vaishnava thakura! Doyara sagoro ei dase koruna kori. Oh great Vaishnava! Oh ocean of mercy, please be merciful unto me.
6. Seriously, just chant Nityananda's name and pray for devotion to Sri Sri Radha Krishna! One should not be attached to the name "Hindu" for that will get you nowhere. Chant the names of Nitai Gaura and Radha Krishna!
7. And Vigrahaji do you really think that the fall of the jiva issue is pure Krishna katha? I notice that apart from Murali Mohan prabhu, Kulapavana prabhu, and some other few devotees hardly anyone posts on my threads about Nityananda Prabhu. I once complained to my father who explained that the controversial issues will always get the most traffic coming in. It is kind of annoying when we could be having lively discussions on the pastimes and glories of Nityananda Prabhu but instead we are rehashing the same old things over and over again- the jiva issue, the vani/vapuh issue and so on. JAI NITAI indulekhadasi
8. But Krishna is our best friend! Don't you think so? When we are on our deathbed none of our friends can save us, nor will they be willing to die alongside you. Therefore they are temporary and will be with you for maximum one lifetime. But Krishna has been your friend for so many lifetimes. We have simply chose to ignore this best friend of ours.
9. Perhaps this would help? http://www.experiencefestival.com/chandra-loka Let me know!
10. Never mind, I realized that the link itself changed. Here are the new ones: http://iskconof.web.aplus.net/media/family_kirtans/Jaya_Jaya_Nityananda.mp3 http://iskconof.web.aplus.net/media/family_kirtans/Atma_Nivedana.mp3 And of course Nace Gaura: http://iskconof.web.aplus.net/media/family_kirtans/Nace_Gaura.mp3 Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you very much.
11. Jai! Aren't the songs of Bhaktivinoda Thakura without compare? Just read the translations, only someone of his caliber can have realizations like that.
12. Oh really? I wonder why, did anyone else encounter this problem?
13. Both destroy the misery of ignorance. 5) I have completely forgotten all past history by feeling great joy in my mind. I am most certainly Yours, and You are indeed mine. What need is there of any other treasure? 6) Bhaktivinoda, diving into the ocean of bliss, devotes all his efforts for Your service and dwells in Your house according to Your wishes.
14. BTW if anyone wants to sing along with Jaya Jaya Nityananda, here are the lyrics: Jaya Jaya Nityananda Rohini Kumara Patita uddhara lagi dubaha pasara Gada gada madhura madhura adha bol Jare dhekhe tare preme dhori dey kol Daga maga lochana ghuraye nirantara Sonara kamale jano phiraye bhramar Doyar thakura nitai para dukha jane Harinamera mala gati dilo jaga jane Papi pasandi jata korila dolon Dina hina jane koila prema bitaron Haha re gauranga boli pare bhumi tale Sarira bhijilo nitai nayanera jale Vrindavana das mane ei bicharilo Dharani upare kiba sumeru porilo I will post the translations as soon as I can.
15. Isn't it directly stated in the Aquarian bible that Jesus Christ visited India?
16. Do you mean lyrics? I used sing this bhajan since I was 2 years old!
17. Ok, I have not gotten a chance to hear the CD and write the lyrics but I know the first line down straight: emon ki kore varna kul jei kule keno janama na hoy kevala bhakati mul
18. Thank you all for your kind comments.
19. Nobody? Oh well, it looks like I will have to listen to the CD track over and over again and write the lyrics down that way. It is such a beautiful song about how which caste your born into doesn't matter, only bhakti matters. Some examples they give: -Hanuman was born as a monkey but he celebrated as the greatest Ram bhakta -Vibhisan was born as a Rakshasa but he is also celebrated as a great Ram bhakta -Prahlad was born as a Daitya but Lord Nrsmhadeva came personally to him bound by his devotion -Candal Guhak who was a dear friend of the Lord despite being a candal -The Lord ate at the house Vidura who was born as the son of a maidservant This song is so beautiful...I can't believe the lyrics cannot be found even if you do a search on a search engine. When I finally manage to get the lyrics I will write them down here so that a search engine will pick it up, and everyone will have access to them. JAI NITAI! indulekhadasi
20. I don't think that our purpose is to give people a cold reception. But I think we should have faith that whatever Krishna is doing for us is for our own good. If we are put throught troubles then we should take it in a positive light- that we are being relieved from our previous karma. Actually if you think like that the pain of your problem will be mitigated. I am a very young girl and the past year I have been through three operations and lost almost 30 pounds (the weight loss has caused many additional health problems). Many people told me to pray to the Lord that my suffering goes away, but I refused to do so. I knew that Lord Krishna was doing this for my own good. Our prayer should be, "Krishna, I am totally dependent on you. You know me the best, therefore whatever plans you have in store for me no matter how painful they are, are beneficial for me in the long run." Spiritual problems is another matter. There, prayer isn't an optional thing- it is needed. However, most of the praying should be done by the person themselves, not other people. However, I have been praying for this person that his spiritual life goes good and strong because if that is so then all the other problems that he/she may have will not trouble him/her.
21. Whether you want to give such substances is your choice. We do not take these things because as they are in the mode of passion and ignorance they are not offerable to Krishna. So if you want to eat/drink them that is your personal choice but then you would not be able to be a prasadetarian.
22. Since you have posted this in an Ayurvedic forum, I strongly recomend taking Isabgol. Buy it from an Indian store and mix about one tablespoon of it in some room temperature to warm water. Take this 3 times a day. I hope you see some results, otherwise if there is no results, I would take up the doctors advice for surgery. Surgery has fixed so many of my problems in my life. Of course I do not know your situation- I do not know if you have an adverse effect to surgeries in the past. If that is so you should tell your doctor. I hope you get better soon! The best medicine is chanting of the holy names- Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare.
23. Yes, suchandraji- this is why I said I do not know how much this applies to the Bhutto. Karma also plays an important role but many of us tend to forget that we have karma from so many previous lives not just this life or the past life.
