  1. It is available, but it is in Hindi with English subtitles. I forget where I saw it being sold. Maybe krishnaculture.com?

  3. Thanks for pointing out the error. I forgot to transfer the spell checker to the new server, so it is probably causing some problems. I will fix that now.
  4. The forums have now been shifted to the new server. If you can read this message, it means the DNS changes have taken effect and you are being directed to the new server.
  5. If you mean to say that Jesus and Krishna were to accounts of the same individual, then I would have to say no. Their recorded histories have very little in common other than themselves incarnating for a divine purpose.
  6. Our latest newsletter, sent out yesterday, was on this very subject. It is titled, "Ayurveda-vedanta: Chakras and Energy Healing". You can read it online at: India-Divine/message/18
  7. The Vedic injunction is "mahimsyat sarva bhutani", do not cause harm to any living entity. That includes those killed for meat.
  8. This verse makes it clear that the consumption of flesh by kings was only the remnants of sacrifice (yajna). Certain sacrifices required the offering of a particular animal in the fire, and both the king and priest were required to eat the flesh, thereby transfering the animal's karma to themselves and delivering that animal to a higher destination. To eat the flesh of animals for one's own enjoyment or nutrition is the greatest sin. Sri Rama came to set the perfect ideal of dharma for mankind to follow. To claim that he engaged in sinful conduct is foolish.
  9. Just came across this site: http://www.jesus-online.com/index2.html Seems to be connected with this site: http://www.jesusveg.com/
  10. Hey look, you're a member now, not a junior member. It took awhile.
  11. If you had read this entire thread you will know that there are no such references as you claim. On the other hand there are dozens of references in Valmiki Ramayana that say Rama took the vow to eat only roots as the Rishis did. Please don't post such rumors. If you have a verse from Valmiki Ramayana that shows Rama ate meat, then post it. Otherwise don't make such claims.
  12. Actually, the view you presented was the concoction of the British to undermine the Indian culture and religion. Thus it is quite inferior to the traditional teachings of a school of thought.
  13. Quite a speculative hypothesis. I suppose you were there when the Mahabharata was written. Anyway, from the traditional perspective the Mahabharata was written in its entirety by Vyasa Muni, an empowered incarnation of the Lord.
  14. Actually, your logic is immature. You have not seen a miracle, and then you conclude that no one in the world has seen a miracle. atmavan manyate jagat "The living entity projects his own ignorance onto everyone in the universe." [A rough conceptual translation.]
  15. I remember meeting Hayagriva's son many years ago at a Ratha Yatra.
  16. It is interesting how when people whom we know suddenly die, for a short moment we realize how meaningless our daily activities are. What we consider as so important, say for example paying the telephone bill before the expiration date, means absolutely nothing. For a few days we can understand that there is an absolute truth beyond the illusions we consider real. But then again maya covers us till the next warning. Even Hiranyakashipu became a Vedanti when Hiranyaksha was killed. But his vairagya did not last long due to his demoniac nature. Even when very famous people die, whom we don't actually know, the same effect sometimes occurs. In our mind we identify them as being connected to us, even though we have never seen them in person. Sorry for going a little off from the subject of the thread, but these are just some thoughts that have come up from reading this.
  17. That Hayagriva is the original Hayagriva who edited the English in Prabhupada's books. He wrote a number of books, one I remember was called "Vrindavana Days". He passed away quite a few years back. As far as Ambarish, he is still alive. I just saw a message from him regarding George Harisson's passing away. Prabhupada had given the same names to several people, for example Shyamasundara.
  18. The soul is "acalah", or nonmoving, and the Lord is as well. What is movement? To shift from one space of accomodation to another. Krishna is everything, thus where is the question of Him shifting to another space of accomodation? There is nothing else but Him. The soul is also nonmoving while in the conditioned state, for the soul is beyond measuremeant. Material movement and the soul are incompatable, for the soul does not occupy any material space. Without occupying space, where is the question of changing one's space of accomodation? [This message has been edited by jndas (edited 12-27-2001).]

  20. The energies of the Lord are simultaneously one with and different from the Lord. From the Lord's perspectve there is nothing but Himself, for He is everything. But from the perspective of his separated expansion (vibhinna-amsha), there is difference between the principles of existence.
  21. The particular term "Gita" has a pretty universal application towards instructional conversations within the Puranas and Itihasas (For example Rama Gita, Guru Gita, etc.). As far as the Bhagavad Gita term itself goes, it is likely to have been given by Vyasa himself, if we accept the colophon verses to be his composition. As far as who was the first to specify its unique value in a generic sense, it would be Sanjaya (beginning with verse 74 of the eighteenth chapter), but his glorification was included within the Gita itself by Vyasa.
  22. Those are some very interesting pictures posted by Gauracandra. I wonder if anyone has the interior photos of the Chowpatty ISKCON temple. I know there are some devotees from there that visit the forums. The Chowpatty ISKCON temple interior is the most beautiful interior you will see anywhere. The entire hall's walls are made out of intricately carved teak wood. Hopefully someone can post a photo.
  23. That's the only line you need to see from the article. Basically he cannot accept that miracles can occur (in other words that there is a supreme controlling God), therefore any reference to a miracle is evidence that the story is made up. This is some of the most childish logic I have ever seen.
