  1. Hare Krsna, The word guru is used quite loosely, and there seems to be more than one type of guru. In the Maha Bharata there is talk of gurus for the proper use of military weapons. Arjuna had one of these, if my memory works his name is Dronacarya. But we all know that Arjuna's guru for spiritual matters was Krsna, so if you are asking about a spiritual guru, then you are talking about something special. But again we have gurus for matters of spirit too. For instance i have the guru who brought me to Prabhupada's instructions, and inspired me to follow them. I also have the guru who gave me initiation/spiritual name and again, gave me inspiration to follow. But many have the gurus of the sampradaya, as in the Brahma, Madhva, Gaudiya and including Bhaktivedanta Sampradaya to date. Those are very special Gurus or Acaryas, doing as Krsna does, coming to this world to Kill the demons (prabhupada killed their philosiphy)and to reinstate the proper Dharma. Prabhupada also said that Jesus is our guru. One who teaches about God. One must pray to the supersoul in our hearts for a bonafide guru, who gives us the perfect knowledge. /images/graemlins/shocked.gif hare krsna /images/graemlins/shocked.gif
  2. Today i attended a class on The Bhagavad Gita As It Is, 4th Chapter Verse #4. Given by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, on March 24,1974 in Bombay, India........ /images/graemlins/grin.gif I heard the facts given by Him as to why His edition (Macmillan Company) is increasing while others are diminishing. The following are some excerpts typed/copied from folio disk same class..... Therefore we are presenting Bhagavad-gita As It Is, and it is being accepted all over the world. We have the greatest sale of our edition, this Bhagavad-gita. Just three months before I got report. In London, in two months, we sold about thirty thousand copies. And the trades manager of Macmillan Company, he has sent me letter that while the other editions, they're diminishing, this edition is increasing by sale. Why? Because it is presented as it is, without any wrong interpretation. People are appreciating. This is a fact. /images/graemlins/wink.gif More on this subject from Folio...... Therefore we are presenting Bhagavad-gita as it is, without any malinterpretation. This is the significance. And people are appreciating. Macmillan Company, our publisher, they printed fifty thousand copies of this book in August, and it was finished by October.... We have got very good demand for our books, all these books. December 9 1972 /images/graemlins/wink.gif The Doctor is in A.C. Bhaktivedanta.....Just like if you take a medicine bottle. The direction, as it is stated in the bottle, you have to take medicine in that way. You cannot make your own direction, interpretation. Nonsense. We don't accept. We are publishing one book,Bhagavad-gita As It Is. It has been taken by one great publisher, Macmillan Company, and we'll have it by the month of October. Don't interpret. We explain things as they are. That should be the attitude. Why? Why interpretation? By interpretation, there are 664 editions of Bhagavad-gita. June 10 1968 /images/graemlins/wink.gif I am anxiously awaiting my newest order for a case of Bhagavad-gita As It Is Macmillan Publisher to distribute the REAL pure message, unudulterated, not misinterpreted, with no wrong interpretation according to the only one in our movement who is qualified to say what is bonafide or not. My mission: to place a Bhagavad-gita As It Is Prabhupada's version in every public library within 50 miles of my mountain top home.

  4. For some reason some of the text is underlined(unintentualy) Srimad Bhagavatam Canto 1 Chapter 17 Verse 3 Translation and Purport by A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada(from folio disk) Text: gam ca dharma-dugham dinam bhrsam sudra-padahatam vivatsam asru-vadanam ksamam yavasam icchatim Traslation: Although the cow is beneficial because one can draw religious prinsiples from her, she was now rendered poor and calfless. Her legs were being beaten by a sudra. There were tears in her eyes, and she was distressed and weak. She was hankering after some grass in the field. Purport: The next symptom of the age of Kali is the distressed condition of the cow. Milking the cow means drawing the principles of religion in a liquid form. The great rsis and munis would live only on milk. Srila Sukadeva Gosvami would go to a householder while he was milking a cow, and he would simply take a little quantity of it for subsistence. Even fifty years ago, no one would deprive a sadhu of a quart or two of milk, and every householder would give milk like water. For a Sanatanist <a follower of Vedic principles> it is the duty of every householder to have cows and bulls as household paraphernalia, not only for drinking milk, but also for deriving religious principles.* The Sanatanist worships cows on religious principals and respects brahmanas.* The cow's milk is required for the sacrificial fire, and by performing sacrifices the householder can be happy. The cow's calf not only is beautiful to look at, but also gives satisfaction to the cow, and so she delivers as much milk as possible. But in the Kali-yuga, the calves are seperated from the cows as early as possible for purposes which may not be mentioned in these pages of Srimad-Bhagavatam. The cow stands with tears in her eyes, the sudra milkman draws milk frome the cow artificially, and when there is no milk the cow is sent to be slaughtered. These greatly sinful acts are responsible for all the troubles in present society. People do not know what they are doing in the name of economic development. The influence of Kali will keep them in the darkness of ignorance. Despite all endeavors for peace and prosperity, they must try to see the cows and the bulls happy in all respects. Foolish people do not know how one earns happiness by making the cows and bulls happy, but it is a fact by the law of nature. Let us take it from the authority of Srimad-Bhagavatam and adopt the principles for the total happiness of humanity. Stars in above text added by bhakta chris for emphasis /images/graemlins/grin.gif
  5. If i was trapped on an island with one song it would be Gaura Pahu, follows is the purport from folio disk.......Prabhupada:Gaura pahu na bajiya goinu,prema-rathana-dhana helaya harainu. This in another song by Narrottama dasa Thakura. He's saying that "I have invited my spiritual death by not worshiping Lord Caitanya."Gaura pahu na bhajiya goinu.Gaura pahu means "Lord Caitanya," and na bhajiya, "without worshiping."Goinu,"I have invited spiritual death."And adhame yatane kari dhanu tainu."Why I have invited the spiritual death?" Because I am engaged in something which is useless and I have rejected the real purpose of my life."Adhana means valueless things. And dhana means valuables. So Actually, everyone of us, neglecting our spiritual emanicipation,we are engaged in material sense gratification, and therefore we are losing the opportunity of this human form of body to elevate myself on the spiritual platform. This human body is especially given to the conditioned soul to take a chance for spiritual emancipation. So anyone who does not care for spiritual emancipation,he is inviting spiritual death.Spiritual death. So in the animal life it is fully forgetfulness. They cannot be reminded at any circumstances that they are not this body, they are different from this body.It is only in this human form of body, human form of life, one can understand that he is not this body,he's spirit soul.So by chanting Hare Krsna, one can easily understand this fact, and by worshiping Lord Caitanya, following His principles and ways, one can chant Hare Krsna and very easily come to the platform of spiritual understanding. But Narottama dasa Thakura says on our behalf that we are neglecting this. Therefore we are inviting spiritual death. Then he says that prema-rathana-dhana helaya harainu. Spiritual life means to develop real love.Everyone says love. There are so many signboards, so many papers,"love, love." But there is no love. This is illusion. It is all lust. Love for intoxication, love for sex, love for this.....This is going on.So actual love means....Love,this word, can be applicable only with Krsna, with God. Because we are created for that purpose. To love means to love Krsna. So that is wanted. That is spiritual love.So prema-rathana. I could achieve that transcendental position of love, but I am neglecting. Therefore I am calling my spiritual death. And these things are happening due to my past misdeeds. Due to my past deeds, misdeeds, I have got a type of body. Everyone who has got this material body, it is due to past misdeeds. The...sometimes we call pious deeds. Actually, so long one gets this material body there in no pious deeds.Pious deeds means no more material body. That is pious deeds. Otherwise it is to be taken as a fact that even Brahma, who is the chief living entity within this universe and has got a mass of years as duration of life, all power, still, that is also considered as misdeeds. Because he has got the material body. So we are going deep down and down, one after another, body, by our misdeeds. In the bhagavata also it it stated that they do not know that by this sense gratificatory process they will have another body. And the body is the cause of material pangs. Because I have got this body, therefore I feel headache, I feel stomachache. I feel this and that. But, as soon as we are out of this material body, there is no more material pangs. It is simply joyful life.Brahma-bhutah prasannatma. Prasannatma means joyful. As soon as one gets spiritual life.So due to my past deeds, I am missing this opportunity. Apana kara mada seva..... And why it is happening? Sat-sanga chadi khainu asatyera vilasa. "I have given up the association of devotees, but I am associating with common nonsense men." Asatyera. Asat and sat. Sat means spirit. And asat means matter. So association of material attachment means implication in this material conditional life. So one has to make association with devotees. Satam prasangad mama virya-samvido. One can understand about God only in association of devotees. Therefore we are advocating this Krsna consciousness movement, society. Actually, you'll find, one who comes to this society, by associating a few days, a few weeks, he becomes conscious and he comes forward for initiation and further advancement. So this association is very important. And the, those who are conducting different centers and temples, they should be very resposible men. Because everything will depend on their sincere activities and character. If they are insincere, then that will not be effective. One may come and associate with us, but if us are insincere, then it will be not be effective. But if the devoteees are sincere, anyone who will come in contact with a devotee, he'll change. That is the secret. Sat-sanga chadi asatyera vilasa. And as soon as we give up this association of these devotees, immediately maya will catch me. Immediately. Maya is just side by side. As soon as we give up this company, maya says "Yes,come in my company." Without any company, nobody can remain neutral. That is not possible. He must associate with maya or Krsna. So everyone should be very much serious to keep association with devotees, with Krsna. Krsna means..... When we speak of Krsna, "Krsna" means Krsna with HIs devotees. Krsna is never alone. Krsna is with Radharani. Radharani is with the gopis. And Krsna is with the cowherd boys.We are not impersonalists. We do not see Krsna alone. Similarly, Krsna means with Krsna's devotees. So Krsna consciousness means to keep association with the devotees of Krsna. Visaya visama visa satata khainu. And he says that "I have drunk always the most dangerous poison of sense gratification. Eating, sleeping, mating, and defending. These are called.... These four principles are called visaya. And visama means dangerously. And visa means poison. If one is simply engaged with these four principles of life, just like animals. Then it is to be supposed that he's simply drinking poison. That's all. Visaya visama satata khainu. "I know this <is> poison, but I am so much intoxicated that I am drinking this poison every moment." Gaura-kirtana-rase maghana na painu. "And i could not merge myself into the sankirtana movement started by Lord Caitanya." Oh, that is actually the fact. Those who are too much attached to materialistic way of life, or always drinking the poison of sense gratification, they are not attracted by the sankirtana movement. So at the last, Narottama dasa Thakura is lamenting. He's not lamenting. He's representing ourself. If one comes to that point of lamentation, that is also very nice. He immediatly becomes purified. Lamentation means purification. So he says, keno va achaaya prana kichu bali.... "Why I am living? I do not make association with the devotees. I do not take part in the sankirtana movement. I do not understand what is Krsna. I do not understand what is Lord Caitanya. Then what for I am living?" This is lamentation. "What is my happiness? What is the standard of my happiness? Why I am living?" Narottama das kena na gela. "Why I did not die long, long ago? I should have died. What is the meaning of my living?" So it is not Narottama dasa Thakura's lamentation. Everyone of us should think like that, that "If we cannot make association with devotees, if we do not understand what is Krsna consciousness movement, if we do not come in touch with Lord Caitanya and associates, it was better for me to die. And there is no other remedy" This is the substance of this song.<end> /images/graemlins/grin.gif
  6. Hare Krsna dear Prabhus and Matajis, I am writing this post with some pride,i am still a conditioned soul after all! My family has been greatly influenced by my life in some ways.Since my service to Krsna has always been Goraksya or Cow Protection i have spoken out on THIS issue most when with my material family. When i became a vegetarian in "76" out of high school my mother was very concerned about my diet. She said i could not be healthy that way and was very short on protein. But my mom is also honest and smart so she studied up on vegetarian diets and others. And one day when i was living at the temple community i got a letter from her.In the letter she appoligized for what she said and then she even wrote that my diet (as given by Srila Prabhupada)was the healthiest diet actually! Now many years later in the 90's she also became a vegetarian, and since she is the cook,my step dad is also a vegetarian. My influence has also spread to my brothers and sisters and step mom, though they are not so strict as my mom. So today i went to visit my mom and she had recently returned from a town fair.At the fair there was a barn labeled "beef".She went in and looked at the beef animals and was enchanted by their beauty. She said that she cant even understand how any one could eat meat from a beautiful animal such as that. And then she said this is my fault!Jokingly ofcourse, but actually it is Srila Prabhupada's influence giving us such a service as "cow protection".So again i realize that Srila Prabhupada is Jagat Guru, influencing the whole world. And i see how the "Gita Nagari" as given by Srila Prabhupada is so important. And how great Goraksya devotees are helping the world to become more on the platform of goodness by bringing those cows and oxen to Hare Krsna festivals and parikrams around the world. We are not devoting our lives to dogs and cats, not even horses.Prabhupada instructed that the mother and father of "civilized" man is the cow and oxen. So i pay my flat out obeisances to those who perfectly protect the mothers and fathers of civilization. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

  8. Hare Krsna Prabhus and Matajis, All Glories To Srila Prabhupada's and Lord Chaitanya's sankirtana movement.Obeisances at the Vaisnava's feet. I wanted to write a short story of my coming to the path towards Krsna, since i too had an adventure getting there and seeing how others are enlivened too by reading of such. My journey towards the light of Prabhupada's instructions started in the state of my material birth, Vermont the "Green Mountain State".I had quit high school, my parents were fighting it out in superior court for their piece of the 'pie' and divorse. My best friend also had quit college and we spent the winter in our hastely constructed log cabin preety deep in the woods bordering the national forest and "wilderness" part of Vermont. We spent the days playing in 5 feet deep snow, snowshoeing and sledding and other frivalous activities of 18-19 year old "men".Then in the long night of the cold north we would huddle by the wood stove and read by karosine lamp, while the wind howled and snow drifted.During this winter our favorite reading was eastern philosiphy including the abridged Bhagavad Gita,B.T.G. and other smaller Prabhupada books.(the year was '77')These were given by the friend of a sister of ours.(prabhupada calls his books time bombs, and they went off in our minds!)After the winter started to melt we got ideas to leave Vermont.Over that winter we had given up smoking pot, tobbacoe, alcohol, and eating meat. And when the spring came we left and started walking on the Appalacian Trail which was just a few miles away from our cabin. We would walk and chant various mantras including the Maha Mantra on the trail with some direction in mind, south america,or india and looking for a guide for life. Our guidebooks were a page ripped out of BTG "centers around the world"and the same for Kundalini Yoga. When we were walking through Pennsylvania we came to endless rocks and descided to get "real" shoes to replace our Moccasins. Then again later in Penn.we needed to make a stop where we could get a supply box (previously made up) sent to us.We pulled out our centers around the world, first the one for kundalini yoga and found that there was a center near us.When we got to their place the kundalini yoga people saw us (we were dirty, bearded long hairs from the trail)and said that our "aura" was so bad it would probably kill one of their people and they would not let us in. So we took out "centers around the world" Back to Godhead style and also found a center not very far away. When we called, the hare krsna's said"where are you,we will send a van out right away"Wow what a difference. After weeks on the trail and being renunciates of modern technology we were quite dirty and weird. From our homemade moccasins(replaced by sneakers)homemade backpacks and clothes, hair to our butts and what ever beards we had grown(being only 19) Our food supply was only three things raw peanuts, roasted salted soybeans and dried apples(from a tree outside our vt.cabin) water along the trail. When we got to the hare krsna temple we were not only dirty and weird but very emasiated from hard hiking and this diet. But of course that all changed soon enough, because the first place we went to was the prasadam hall. Sometimes the Hare Krsna's are called the kitchen relegion, because they offer Krsna incredible food, vegetarian ofcourse. Then we went to shower up and rest for the day was near done and we were told to be ready to wake at 4am.to prepare for the "morning program". The month was May and the year was '78' which made the time only 5 months since the departure of THE FOUNDER/ACARYA A.C.BHAKTIVEDANTA SWAMI PRABHUPADA.And at this temple the so called (at the time)zonal acarya had not yet arrived.Everyone was preparing for his arrival though and one devotee who was a great inspiration to us,daily would sing "Vande Hum 'new' Guru"a parody on Vande Hum Sri Guru. We got a kick out of the irreverance of his attitude, later he also got a kick as in out!A new vyasasana was constructed by him and it towered over Srila Prabhupada's later it was pared down some,to below Prabhupada's. When i first wore a dhoti to the morning program i was taught to tye it by one brahmacari who was from the Radha Domodhara Travelling Sankirtana Party.Since the party had just recently been disbanded.Looking back, what a sad thing to stop that program which put Srila Prabhupada's books in every library, and was such a recruiting tool.Stopped so some of the sanyasis could take their new role as "zonal acaryas" and write books of their own. After a few days the supply box came from vermont for our continuing hike to india and the search for a guide for life.I said to my friend and co-traveler lets go,and he turned to me surprised, and said " this is what we were looking for, this is the absolute truth".That day we filled a trash can with our collected hair, accept for our sikhas. And we gradually developed attachment to Krsna's name and Srila Prabhupada's instructions.A year later we both took initiation from the local "zonal acarya" I was lucky because this transition time between the Nitya Sidha Paramahansa Guru,Prabhupada and the "new"guru kept me in the association of mostly disciples of Srila Prabhupada. My service was to pick up where a Prabhupada disciple had left off.And i spent my days listening only to Srila Prabhupada and doing my service started by and dedicated to Him. So i gained much love and attachment to Srila Prabhupada and my service was for Him. Those good feelings towards the Jagat Guru helped me stay on the path towards Krsna all these years later, even after the fall of so many "new" gurus. I became a follower of Srila Prabhupada and knew when the "new" guru was asking for something bogus and refused to comply.(thats another story with lessons) So i do not know what is right ritvik, diksa, guadiya math or whatever for i am a simple person. But i do know that Srila Prabhupada is an infallible Acarya,a Sampradaya Acarya, and the only person i trust my life to.I may not be initiated by Him chanting on the beads He chanted on,or maybe i am with the "new"guru being the ritvik or whatever.Or perhaps i am the disciple of that "new" guru with the spiritual name he gave me. I am trying to be a follower of the Founder/Acarya of the Krsna Consciousness Movement. Dont be like the so called "Christians" who are followers of the followers of the followers so many times removed and not actually following Christ's instructions or even acknowledging those instructions. We have had the "Saviour"or "Messihia" in our rescent times,That must be acknowledged and His instructions must be followed to our best ability.Read His books develope love for Him who is infallible. I apoligize for my very poor gramer and spelling but i am a lowly drop out after all. 'bhakta christopher'
  9. The mind is harder to control than controlling the wind,so says Arjuna to Krsna. But Srila Prabhupada gave us a system to engage the mind and it sounds like you are using this system.Like a captain of a sailing ship in a strong wind he engages the sails in a practised way to move him forward.Never allowing unattentiveness to let the wind take control and smash him on the rocks.Similarly we must use the Maha Mantra or "great chanting for deliverance" attentively not letting the strong winds of Maya to smash us against the rocks! So dont give up just practise and become a good captain of your ship of the mind.It will work,Srila Prabhupada has assured us of it.Cleanse the dirty things from the mirror of the mind.Hare Krsna
  10. Hare Krsna Prabhus and Matajis, I recently read an article by someone stating that no "gadget"can give us liberation or peace. But i have found a gadget that can do it!As i wrote in a post in the past here. There is now a bunch of cds that are in Mp3 format(players are inexpensive)that are recordings of All of Srila Prabhupada's recordings... lectures, kirtans, bhajans conversations, classes etc.etc. Today i attended classes on Bhagavad Gita given by the foremost authority on the gita in such towns as New York city,Ahmnebad,LosAngeles, and Bombay. How? By listening to these incredible recordings from '66','74' etc. And just as the listeners were made enthused in Krsna consciousness then, they are today.Plus others!(i have quite a loud speaker system that allows for movement of sound over distance)It sounds like India, loud speakers blaring some speaker giving his point of view. But this speaker is like others before Him (Jesus comes to mind) an unmotivated special soul who has come to deliver the fallen to God.
  11. Hare Krsna Lianne. to follow up on what i replied first, you can see the website dedicated to what i was talking about before at........www.asitis.com simple living high thinking b.c.
  12. Hare Krsna Lianne, The best way in my 'opinion' to find out information on the facts understood by devotees of the Krsna consciousness movement.Would be to read the 700 verses of the Bhagavad Gita As It Is (along with purports)specifically a "Gita" published by Macmillon (this one was used, read and called bonafide by the Author)i can send you one easily (since i work in the U.S.post office) email me at chriscolm@hotmail.com.This Bhagavad Gita is the whole philosiphy spoken my Krsna 5000 years ago (anthropology student Lianne find out more)and then delivered to us in english (and other languages). The Krsna consciousness movement was founded on the ancient wisdom in the Bhagavad Gita brought to us by the Founder, Acharya (or special Guru) A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami, effectionately known as "Prabhupada". He gave us the Gita "As It Is"(or exactly as Krsna spoke it) and under His guidance the movement went on. Accept for some "time and circumstance" instructions Prabhupada gave, the movement has the same "beliefs" that have been followed since time immemorial. I have made sure that all public community libraries within a 50 mile limit have This book (and some further)since it is the greatest knowledge to gain on This planet i am sure! "bhakta"(one who is a "love of Godhead"yogi) bhakta christopher
  13. Hare Krsna Prabhus and Matajis, Obeisances to you all,All Glories to the Nitya Sidhas starting with the most recent, AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. He started the public chanting of the Maha Mantra in this western world under an elm in Thompkins square park in New York city,"66".His followers and diciples now have continued the preaching there by bringing civilized man's four legged mother,Srimati Cow,to the park.On labor day along with a festival for Srila Prabhupada,a gentle team of cow protectors arrived. They distributed Prasadam made from Cintamani's(the four legged mom preaching there)milk along with some flyers showing a most important sacrifice for the age of Kali. The Goraksya yajna or cow protection sacrifice brought to the west by the Nitya Sidha Sampradaya Acarya,Srila Prabhupada. That duty of Goraksya keeps the follower of Srila Prabhupada who is not always in the strict Brahmana caste in a situation not unlike a temple Pujari. For some of the priciples of proper deity worship such as cleanliness, punctuality, reverence (and much more)must be followed to keep the cow happy and healthy. So just as some may have deities kept in a disheveled state is NOT deity worship.Keeping the cows and oxen in disheveled ways is NOT Goraksya. Many, many people in That big city of N.Y. were attracted to see this Cintamani mother standing under an old tree where this worlds preeminent Guru,A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami came to deliver so many conditioned souls. And those Goraksya followers are fearlessly continuing an important part of that mission without motivation, i bow down to them....... bhakta christopher
  14. Hare Krsna Prabhus and Matajis, Thank you for this forum, humble obeisances to the vaisnavas, from my lowly posistion. I write this paragraph today with hope for the future. For i have realized that i am a follower of the follower of the Brahma Madhva Guadiya Bhaktivedanta Sampradahya. And when i can honestly follow a Guru from the Brahma Madhva Guadiya Bhaktivedanta Sampradahya i will take initiation. I dont need to be worried if they are for ritviks or diksa,or from the GuadiyaMatha.Or from Iskcon or from Prabhupada or GBC. As long as they are followers and exponants for this age we have entered into which is known as the Brahma Madhva Guadiya Bhaktivedanta Samprahdaya age. Then i am Their faithfull servant and will follow cent per cent with great inspiration. When their instructions differ from the Acaryas from THIS Sampradhaya then i will not follow, untill they have come back to the standard. HARE KRSNA HARE KRSNA KRSNA KRSNA HARE HARE HARE RAMA HARE RAMA RAMA RAMA HARE HARE a mostly illiterate mudha for sure, bhakta christopher

Hare Krsna dear Prabhus and Matajis, i am the real"most unfortunate begger"a real "mudha",no better than a cow or an ass(for i am attached to my homeland).Although this is true and factual i feel blessed to have come in contact with the present day Guru of the world.Since coming in contact with Him since 1977(His books,BTG.bajan recordings, diciples)i have developed an attachment for Him and His teachings. After more than 20 years i know now that i will never leave Him or His teachings even though it is a tough struggle to follow cent per cent.Over the years i have followed the current Iskcon doctrine but secretly kept A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami as foremost Hero in my heart, and now looking back that was a great strategy. For He and only He was infallable like His Guru and His Guru before Him.They were what has been called "Sampradaya Acaryas" and that is verified in the Bhagavad Gita As It Is showing the Gurus in line back to Lord Sri Krsna. So offering all due respect to the Gurus of today,i will get to their teachings as soon as i have fully understood and assimilated the Jagat Gurus teachings. All Glories to Srila AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada a fallen servant of the servant of the protected cows of Krsna bhakta christopher
  16. All Glories to the tireless servants of Krsna's protected cows. For they are the ones who guide me and give me inspiration to continue the fight against Maya in this age of Kali.My fallen state allows me only to serve the Gopa and Gopi Vaisnavas.Against all odds in this "new" world where there are "big big slaughter houses" the protected cow herders provide their cows with grasses creating a localized "Goloka".If i can serve those great followers of Jagat Guru Bhaktivedanta Swami and help to protect more of the Supreme Personality of Cow Herd Boy's cows here on earth then i feel that we have achieved something.bhakta christopher
  17. Hare Krsna dear vaisnava from saivite, How wonderful to hear of your coming to Krnsa through the teachings of Srila Prabhupada A C Bhaktivedanta Swami. He is the guru of the world Jagat Guru and has every town and village as his diciples.Just some of them hear His message and follow His teachings, for them life must be so sweet and everlasting.I must say from experience be carefull to only hear from Srila Prabhupada and develop spiritual love and attachment to His teachings. He is "one of a Kind" unfallible, and all of our's best well wisher. I am your mudha friend far away cleansing in the ocean of necter, Srila Prabhupada's vast teachings.Bhakta Christopher
  18. Thankyou Srila Prabhupada for making a house the whole world can live in. Thankyou, thankyou. Now i must become more serious and hear and chant with less offences. And taste the necter you have given us.Bhakta christopher
  19. there is the verse ceto darpana arjanam(this is the spelling that i hear)but the purport is that by hearing one's anarthas or unwanted things are removed. i have learned also to help be elevated to the mode of goodness one should practice cow protection and hear from srila prabhupada.those two together in my opinion can save one from the clutches of maya.
  20. Hare Krsna prabhus matajis, All Glories to Jagat Guru Srila Prabhupada. i travelled to montreal to attend the Ratha Yatra there.Arriving just in time for the kirtan and travelling through the town was so wonderfull. All devotees reminded me of Krsna and Lord Jaganatha was glorified so nicely.i was not reminded of any guru except our founder acarya who gave us this nice festival. Many many town peaple attended and took the prasadam. The devotees who put it on including montreal and ottawa did such a great service. There were also lots of shows and plays, some by the travelling "young"devotees from around the world. Sorry for my poor spelling for i am a lowly mudha, trying to cleanse my heart with Prabhupada's transcendentel audio and books. bhakta christopher
  21. Hare Krsna Prabhu's and Mataji's, I am writing to tell of my new system of listening to Srila Prabhupada.I bought recently a thing called an ipod,it is a small low power radio transmiter. The neat thing is i plug it in to my mp3 player at work and listen to Prabhupada it sends a radio signal that i pick up with some kind of radio. My friends and fellow workers can also hear the necter if they tune into it. Since we work outside i have found that even home owners nearby can hear it too! What an age we live in,that i can still hear the guru for the whole planet give instruction on how to reach the ultimate goal of life, even though He left this planet years ago!
