  1. Karela is bitter melon. Do you like it too?
  2. How come no one else has annouced their scores? I know others must have taken this test! How about you Tarun? /images/graemlins/cool.gif
  3. that is good to know! I have a hard time finding karela here - got it a couple of times but that is all. I took the seeds and tried to grow it but the climate is so hard on plants here. I am going to try again this summer.
  4. I guess if you are raised on eating it then you could tolerate it! I can only eat about a half a spoon with rice! /images/graemlins/crazy.gif
  5. I do not even see how anyone can consider number 2 at all. It is a gross offense to think that you are better than the spiritual master! Don't they even read what they are editing!!
  6. I have been looking for the following two books for a long time. I have included the link to them on Krishna Culture's website. Although Krishna Culture continues to advertise these books - they have not had them for a long time and do not know if they will be able to get them. Does anyone know where I might locate either one or both of these books? Sri Narasimha Stotra Mala The Narasimha Puranam

  8. I can only do a little bit at a time. I can not imagine anyone eating a spoonful!!
  9. I agree that the books should just be reverted back to Srila Prabhupada's original words. A lot of people came to Krishna Consciousness through Prabhupada's orginal works so where is the need to "correct". It is foolishness to think that you know how to say something better than the spiritual master.
  10. Too much of anything is not good. I had heard that about the digestive qualities of pickle also and that a little with each meal is a good thing. Once again, am I just rationalizing? I also heard that kerela is very good to have for digestion and also good for diabetics?
  11. Sounds good to me Theist!! This is also a very very hot climate. Am I just rationalizing?
  12. There doesn't seem to be anyone else around!! They were both lemon - one sweet and one hot. One problem I discovered yesterday is one of the jars had leaked from the top indicating the heat was too much for them. The other jars lid had become loose also. That helped me make my final decision to throw them out. It can get up to 110 here in the summer so I can only imagine how hot this house got being closed up and all. I just got a jar of sweet mango pickle - I'll let you know how it is!! Have you had kerela pickle?
  13. I was reading the labels again yesterday and noted the amount of salt added.
  14. I heard from Jahnava devi dasi a couple of weeks ago and the site is still in the works. They are creating a whole new site besides the forums. Sounds quite extensive. She told me that old members will be notified asap when the site is ready.
  15. Are you my clone, long lost brother or did you peek at my answers? /images/graemlins/grin.gif
  16. /images/graemlins/blush.gif
  17. I threw the jars out this afternoon. I had too much doubt about whether the pickle was good or not so out it went. Sorry Tarun! My Indian friend wanted them too but.....
  18. I don't see any reason to be rude. Please do not try to antagonize and cause problems.
  19. I understand now. Thanks for explaining. It is nice to have you here and I hope you want to stay around.
  20. I always wanted to ask the evolutionist scientists - if man evolved from monkeys as they try to tell us - then why are there still monkeys? Were there some that just did not make the grade? /images/graemlins/tongue.gif
  21. I have not thrown them out yet. I started to and then set the jars back down on the counter. I hate to throw out food!! One Indian friend told me this morning that pickle does not go bad.
  22. It is nice to hear from you again and thank you for responding to the inquiry. The local LDS temple does incredible welfare work in our community helping those who are in need. I learned that this is universal to the church when speaking with one of the church leaders after they had helped a family in dire need. My question is how does the church safeguard themselves from being taken advantage of by people asking for help when they don't really need it.
  23. I was thinking the same thing. I have had severe food poisoning and I am very careful now. So out the pickle goes. I already bought some new jars but held on to these but was too afraid to even open them!!
  24. According to the vedic scriptures Kali Yuga resides in gold. Gold is where King Pariksit allowed Kali Yuga to stay.
  25. I think this thread has steered way off original subject.
