I had a friend that was deprogrammed....they snuck up on her and dragged her into a car never to be seen again. I heard what had happened to her from her then boyfriend who was quite proud of himself for helping the deprogrammers. my blood pressure used to be so low that everytime I went to the doc and they checked it - they would freak and ask me if I felt ok...They told me I should have been passing out and not able function. Actually, I felt fine and was extremely active - bike riding everywhere, running etc so I could not understand the concern of the doc. But anyway, about the same time I started using cayenne for a differnt condition and my blood pressure did go up and it has stayed normal ever since.

There was just Krsna, Prabhupada and me....then I got a computer and what a slap in the face that was!!! I literally went into a tailspin.... With a few exceptions...I find the internet to be a hotbed of misinformation and offenses. We have to be very careful but there is some nectar out there.

Nothing that any of us can say here will do anything to change what has already happened. Boycott the changed books and go to the thrift stores and used book stores and find the originals. Or buy from the people who are selling the reprints of the originals. You do have options. I do not like the book changes but I am not going to waste precious time repeating the same things over and over on forums about it. ISKCON is gonna do what ISKCON wants to do and unless you got big bucks and big lawyers you can't do a dog gone thing about it.

BTG's that already sold by this seller My mistake....I thought these were the dictation tapes - not sure why I thought that. I see that they are lecture and bhajan tapes...sorry brain is getting old and tired. /images/graemlins/confused.gif

BTG's are mostly gone but I am told more to come. The first tape went for $200. The first BTG's went for about $15 each. The magazines were from the very beginning up to the late 60's so far. seems to me that these tapes and magazines should be in a temple museum rather than being sold to the highest bidder on ebay!!! These tapes are originals of Prabhupada's dictation given to Hayagriva to type up Bhagavad Gita As It Is......oh man!!! Not only historic value but also would provide proof of just how many changes have been made from the original dictation....

are being sold on ebay by a devotee who has been storing them for several years now. I was shocked when I saw the tapes on there. The old BTG Magazines were amazing...too bad I am so poor. Someone bought them up very quickly. Wasn't it stomach cancer that caused Hayagriva to quit his body? BTW.. I am told by the devotee selling the items that there is much more to come.

Arab Paper Gets Spain Bombing Claim By MAAMOUN YOUSSEF CAIRO, Egypt (AP) - The Arabic newspaper Al-Quds al-Arabi said Thursday it had received a claim of responsibility for the Madrid train bombings issued in the name of al-Qaida. The five-page e-mail claim, signed by the shadowy Brigade of Abu Hafs al-Masri, was received at the paper's London offices. It said the brigade's ``death squad'' had penetrated ``one of the pillars of the crusade alliance, Spain,'' and carried out what it called Operation Death Trains. ``This is part of settling old accounts with Spain, the crusader, and America's ally in its war against Islam,'' the claim said. Referring to Spain's Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar, the statement asked: ``Aznar, where is America? Who will protect you, Britain, Japan, Italy and others from us?'' The newspaper faxed the claim to The Associated Press office in Cairo. The statement warned the United States that a major strike is approaching. ``We announce the good news for the Muslims in the world that the strike of the black wind of death, the expected strike against America, is now at its final stage - 90 percent ready - and it is coming soon, by God's will,'' the claim said. Asked about the claim of responsibility, White House spokesman Sean McCormack said ``we've seen the news reports and we're going to determine what the facts are.'' The message also referred to last year's attack on Italian paramilitary police serving in the U.S.-led coalition in Iraq. ``When we attacked the Italian troops in Nasiriyah and sent you and America's agents an ultimatum to withdraw from the anti-Islam alliance, you did not understand the the message. The statement said another al-Qaida squad, Jund al-Quds or Soldiers of Jerusalem, had carried out Tuesday night's attack on a Masonic lodge in Istanbul, Turkey. ``All the Masons would have been killed but there was a technical fault. So because God wished it, only three were killed,'' the statement said. In the attack, two suicide bombers opened fire in the lodge's dining hall, killing a waiter and wounding five other people. The attackers then detonated rudimentary explosives. One assailant died in the blast while the other was severely wounded.
