  1. Panca tattva is bona fide but this is not the mantra that is being taught by this guru. I have had a very long discussion with some of his disciples and they have verified the mantra that their guru teaches and they believe it is also Prabhupada's teachings but it is not.
  2. This mantra is not the pancha-tattva that is being taught on this site.
  3. guest, have you read this site??? anyway, this "guru" has concocted some teachings and has actually put on quotes from Prabhupada's books but changed some of the wording to fit his own methods. This is offensive!! Also, not sure if he is still doing this because I do not wish to read this site again but he used to take your info and vows via an online application and give you initiation.
  4. I thought this was the site that you were referring to but I wanted to make sure before I made a response. I will not say much other than this...if you are attracted to Srila Prabhupada and His teachings and instructions then you should probably not read this site as it will cause confusion. Although, the "guru" puts Prabhupada's picture and pictures of our previous acaryas on his site - this is not Prabhupada's teachings.
  5. post gHari!! Starman...temple life is not for everyone. Try to find the nearest temple, preaching center or namahatta program and vist as your schedule allows. You will discover ways in which you can serve without leaving your wife and children.
  6. the website that you are speaking of. It will make it easier to get some answers.
  7. up to the pastime of Damodara is how far Prabhupada translated.
  8. "The wonderful sacred mantra Krsna chants is the name of His dearmost Radharani. Srimati Radharani's maha-mantra is the name of Lord Krsna." (Radha-Krsna Ganoddesa-dipika)
  9. what we ask for because we just might get it!!
  10. You should read the purports also to this little book. Much instruction on surrender..very nice inspiring little book.
  11. LOL...now I will be able to sleep again. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
  12. I first met Jayaradhe back on the old VNN forums. I came on one day whining about not having any devotee association where I live. Jayaradhe basically told me to get off my lazy you-know-what and get out there and make some!! I did not know what to say and I have to admit it scared me a bit. She must have realized this by my silence and changed her tactic a bit. We were fast friends ever since!! I chuckle now at my reaction.
  13. I just finished a Christmas job gig at Amazon.com and one day picked a book for someone's order entitled, "Finding God in Lord of the Rings." I don't know anything about the movie. I read the books back in the 70's and remember very little about them but I am sure I did not find God in them. LOL......The book will probably sells thousands...people are so desparate.
  14. I know exactly what you are saying. For weeks after Jayaradhe left her body I would be doing just everyday things and find myself thinking that Jayaradhe does not have to deal with this anymore. I remember laying down to take rest one night and thinking about Jayaradhe not doing that anymore. Most of all, though, I would think about how she was no longer suffering. She suffered so so very much towards the end. Yet, she always had a smile in her voice when she talked to me and always was concerned about me and how I was feeling. Jayaradhe was so kind. Once she said, "I cannot wait to get my real body." I will never forget that.
  15. I agree that it is not funny. Bananas are about the only fruit I eat anymore and have always been a fav of mine. They can't be beat sliced into a bowl of fresh yogurt and sprinkled with some spices like ginger etc. For variety add some shredded coconut to the mixture. Offer to Lord Krishna. Makes a nice summertime breakfast.
  16. to see MacMurder's trash lying next to the gate of the temple complex.
  17. In just a few days it will be one year since our dear friend and godsister, Jayaradhe devi dasi left her material body. She remains in my thoughts and the memory of our sweet friendship will never fade. I look around my house and see many things to remind me of her - Artwork and other little gifts that she made with her own talented hands and sent to me. She had a voice like an angel - gentle and soft. This is how I always think of her - gentle, kind and loving. I would like to hear from others their memories of this sweet devotee.
  18. you are reading more into my posts than what they are. I have seen you do this before with others so I should have known this would happen. When I asked what made you right and the rest of us wrong I was responding to the posts that you made telling yasodanandana that he is wrong and telling me to "get it right" about some things we said. You have been the "authority' here in all your posts. Read back... It is quite obvious that it is ok for you to disagree with things that are said but when someone questions or disagrees with you then it is a different story. I end my participation in this now.
  19. what makes you right and us wrong? You use so many words and at times say the same things we are saying then turn around and contradict yourself. I go back to what I said before....so often we make things much more difficult than necessary and this includes using convoluted paragraph after paragraph to try to appear to be more authoritative than others. Back to basics...do as Lord Krishna tells us in Bhagavad Gita and make your offerings with Love and Devotion and He will accept. Also, know that the spiritual master is there and knows that you are doing this. Very basic but works for me. Basta
  20. I had actually been taught that it was a choice whether or not to pronunce the final A. But then, I have also been taught that each syllable is pronounced in sanskrit. So I too am confused on this.
  21. it is interesting to discuss. I just feel that we often make things so much more complicated than necessary.
  22. First, we pray to our Spiritual Master for His blessings and ask to assist Him in offering to Lord Krsna. Then, we pray to Lord Caitanya for His mercy and then we pray to Lord Krsna and make the offering. All in all, it is really not so complicated. We tend to make things more difficult than necessary with our thoughts and so much word play in the explanations.
